"Crap crap crap," Jack muttered as he tried to pull his trousers on over his cast, "I did not plan on this happening." He looked at the clock again and cursed again, there was no chance of him being on time. "Sam's going to kill me," he muttered as he finally got his leg into the trousers.

While he and Sam had both agreed to go ahead with everything after what had happened, Jack was now wishing that they'd postponed until a later date. Can't be helped now though, thought Jack as he got his other leg into the trousers before grabbing his jacket and crutch. Really he should have had two but had managed to talk the doctor into only needing the one. He quickly half hobbled, half hopped, out of the door, towards where Daniel and Teal'c were waiting for him in the car.

Gracelessly he got into the car, and as soon as the door shut and Jack got his seat belt done up, Daniel pulled away.

"I can't believe you're running late to your own," Daniel began but was quickly cut off by Jack.

"I know, I know," Jack exclaimed, "Just get us there will you."

"Sam's going to kill you," Daniel stated as he sped up.

"Indeed," Teal'c agreed.

Jack ignored them; he just wanted to get there. Late was better than never at all.

When they pulled up, and Daniel had parked, they all quickly got out. Teal'c quickly moved round to help Jack out while Daniel grabbed the crutch through the other door. The three of them quickly made their way through the door of the building in front of them but halted for a moment before they went through the second. Daniel quickly straightened his tie before he moved to do Jack's while Jack made sure that his trousers were sat right over his cast and that he was all tucked in. Once that was done he took his cover from Teal'c and put it on his head. Daniel stepped back and Jack looked down at himself. After straightening a few of his medals he was happy that he was ready to go. Daniel and Teal'c also made sure that they were presentable.

They all looked at each other before Daniel spoke softly. "Congratulations Jack," he stated, "You deserve this."

"Indeed," Teal'c agreed.

Jack smiled at the pair before he took a calming breath and straightened his shoulders. "Let's do this," he stated, going to stand in front of the door. Daniel and Teal'c moved to flank him and then Jack opened the door and walked through.

The three of them had all been expecting to see Sam waiting for them but instead only found a room full of people. "What the hell," Jack muttered as they walked towards the front, "Where the hell is Carter?"

Both Daniel and Teal'c shrugged, they didn't have a clue what was going on either. They were all aware that all eyes in the room were on them, and that people were whispering amongst themselves. They reached the front and then saw that Hammond was stood there waiting for them.

"General," they all greeted simultaneously.

Hammond nodded in response to their words. "You're late," he stated.

"I know," Jack responded, "I had a bit of trouble getting ready thanks to this little beauty." As she spoke he tapped his cast with the end of his crutch.

Hammond nodded his understanding as Daniel asked, "Where's Sam General? We were expecting her to be here."

"I don't know son," Hammond responded hesitantly, "When I managed to get through to her earlier she said she would be here at some point, nothing was going to stop her."

Jack nodded. He looked behind him to the gathered crowd and saw that everyone was looking at them. He nodded to Sam's brother, Mark, before he turned back to Hammond. "I guess I need to say something don't I," Jack realised.

Hammond nodded and Jack sighed before he turned around to face his audience. "Excuse me," he called out, silence falling over the room at his words, "Sorry to have kept you all waiting. I had a little trouble getting my trousers on over my delightful new accessory," he tapped his cast again in emphasise, "And Carter, I mean Sam, has been expectantly detained and will be here as soon as she can."

As he finished speaking the door at the other end of the room opened once more and a flustered looking Sam stepped through.

"Or," Jack continued with a smile, "She'll be here right now."

Sam beamed at him as everyone else quickly moved back to their seats. Once everyone was seated Sam started her slow walk towards Jack.

She moved with such elegance and grace that Jack couldn't keep his eyes off her, and didn't even notice as people moved about around him. Hammond moved to meet Sam halfway and the two of them paused for a moment so Hammond could kiss her cheek and then her arm through his. They then continued to move towards Jack.

As they got closer Jack beamed at her before he muttered, keeping his voice low, "There's a difference between fashionably late and just plain tardy you know Carter."

Sam just rolled her eyes in response as Hammond dropped her arm and Sam moved to stand beside Jack. "You've got a little something there," he mumbled as he reached out and gently rubbed the dirt of the cheek.

"I was in a bit of a rush," Sam quickly explained, "I thought I'd gotten everything but I guess I missed a bit."

"I can't believe you were running late for this Carter," Jack muttered as they walked forwards.

Sam turned to look at him, stopping them both in their tracks. "Oh, like you can talk," she retorted, "When George rang me he said you weren't here either."

"Bugger," Jack muttered in response, "I thought I'd get away with that."

Sam just smiled at him before they started walking again.

They stopped together and turned to face the front. "After running a little late it seems that we are all here and ready to start," the man waiting there from them said.

Jack and Sam gave him, and then the crowd behind them, sheepish smiles while the crowd laughed. Jack and Sam turned back to face the front and the man began to speak again. "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the marriage of General Jack O'Neill and Colonel Samantha Carter."

"Hurry up," someone called from the back of the room, "We don't want them to run off again."

Sam and Jack both rolled their eyes as everyone in the church laughed. Even the vicar smiled, not minding the interruption. No one minded it really, not even Sam and Jack, because they'd been at least half expecting for someone to say something. After all, they did have a habit of running, especially from each other.

Everyone settled down and the vicar continued. Both Sam and Jack smiled happily, there was no way they could run from each other after today.

So LoneWolfOneill wanted one for Sam and Jack running late for their wedding, and this is what I came up with, I hope you like it.
