Dean held his hand up, rubbing it against his forehead, trying to make sense of Castiel's information. "I really don't believe it. Anna? She has gone all Glenn Close."
Castiel finishes drawing a symbol on the table and straightens up, looking at Dean. "Who's Glen Close?"
"Uh, no one, just a crazy bitch who likes to boil rabbits." Dean replied offhandedly, walking over to stand next to Natalie.
Bobby wheeled himself over next to Castiel, his eyes fixing on the symbol Castiel had been drawing. "You know you're messing up my table."
Castiel casted a glance at Bobby, causing Natatlie to let out a small laugh. "It's fine, Cas." She said, seeing Castiel give her a small nod.
"So the plan to kill me..." Sam paused with hesitation. "...would it actually stop Satan?"
Natalie let out a breath. "Sam..."
"Sam, no, come on." Dean bit back.
"Cas, what do you think? Does Anna have a point?" Sam asked.
Castiel looked over at Dean and then Natalie, seeing the expression on their faces. He looked back over at Sam, "No. She's, uh, Glenn Close."
"I don't get it. We're looking for the chick who wants to gank Sam. Why are we going to the bear?" Dean began to ask.
"No matter what Anna will keep trying. She won't give up until Sam is dead. So we will kill her first." Castiel pours a type of oil into a bowl on the table. "Zod ah ma ra la ee est la gi ro sa."
The bowl on the table bursts into a red flame as Castiel steps away from the table, his eyes closing and his breathing became heavy. A brief moment went by before Castiel opened his eyes and looked over at Sam, Dean and Natalie. "I've found her."
Dean's brows raised in surprise. "Where is she?"
"It's nineteen seventy-eight."
Sam looked at Castiel. "What? Why nineteen seventy-eight? I wasn't even born yet."
"You won't be if she kills your parents." Castiel responded.
Natalie scoffed lightly. "And to think, Angels are supposed to be good. Not going around and killing someone's parents so they can't be born."
"Anna is doing this so the apocalypse would not have been started." Castiel replied.
"I still don't think that's a valid point to go around killing people." Natalie bit back.
Dean quickly rubbed Natalie's back, trying to calm her, before looking over at Castiel. "Take us back."
"And deliver you right to Anna? I should go alone." Castiel said.
"Cas, they're our parents. We're going." Dean answered back.
"It's not that easy. Time travel was difficult even with the powers of heaven at my disposal."
"Which got cut off." Sam added.
"So, what, you're like a Delorean without enough plutonium?" Dean asked.
"I don't understand that reference. But I'm telling you, taking this trip, with passengers no less, it'll weaken me."
Dean walks forward to Castiel. "They are our parents Cas. If we can save them...if we can set things right, we have to try."
Natalie watched the silent battle on Castiel's face, seeing that he wanted to help them, yet he knew the risks of taking them with him. Castiel shook his head, relenting to Dean's request. "Let me go with you guys."
"No." Both Sam and Dean replied back, with a bit of panic in their voices.
Natalie let out a sigh, "Come on guys. Let me go with you." Natalie just wanted to get out of the house and to do something. After being cooped up in here, she was willing to do anything just to keep herself occupied.
Bobby let out a scoff. "No way in hell you're going with them Nad. Just give yourself a little more time..."
Dean shook his head. "Yeah, Nad...I think you should sit this one out."
Natalie sighed, her head hanging back, "Why? I've been staying here for the past..." Natalie paused when she saw the looks on both Sam and Dean's faces. They really didn't want her to go with them. She knew it wasn't because that actually didn't want her to, this had to do with their family This was something that they needed to do on their own. Natalie pursed her lips and groaned, "Fine. I'll stay here."
Dean's brows raised in surprise at her lack of argument. He thought that now she had some time to rest, she would be back to her usual stubborn self, not that he was complaining. He could get used to a non-arguing Natalie. "You haven't really been putting up good fights lately."
Natalie shrugged, her gazes switching between Sam and Dean. "I'm not going to win this argument anyways so there's no point." Sam and Dean both faintly nod their heads, seeing the look of frustrating defeat wash over Natalie's face. She wanted nothing more than to just go with them, to help them. But, they felt it was best for her to just stay behind for this one.
Castiel eyed Natalie closely, seeing the expression on her face fall once she complied to their request. He allowed his gaze to fall in debate then cleared his throat. "I'll get everything ready then." He said, walking back over to the table.
Natalie bit down on her lip and walked up to Sam. "Hey, Sam. Listen, about the little...snap, I had the last time we talked. I'm sorry. I was just really...frustrated, I guess you could say."
Sam shook his head. "You don't have to apologize. I didn't exactly make the situation any better. We both were just not in the best head space that day."
Natalie smiled and nodded in agreement, then looked up at him expectingly. "So, Dean said that something else happened back on your last hunt...what happ—'
"Alright, I'm ready." Castiel suddenly interrupted.
Sam looked back at Castiel, giving him a small nod before turning his gaze back to Natalie. She smiled and shook it off. "It's fine. Just...tell me when you get back." Sam and Natalie walk over to where Castiel and Dean are standing, as Castiel hands Sam a bag.
Natalie walks around to stand in front of Sam, Dean and Castiel. "Be careful..." Natalie said, looking over at Castiel, "...all three of you."
Castiel gave her a curt nod, turning his attention back to the boys. Natalie watched silently as Castiel pressed his fingers against their foreheads, stepping back in surpise at how sudden they all vanished. Natalie scanned the room, her eyes landing on Bobby, seeing an anxious look on his face.
"Well, now all we do is wait." He finally said.
Natalie sighed, folding her arms over her chest, "The one thing I hate doing." Natalie began to make her way through the kitchen when Bobby's voice stopped her.
"Where are you going?"
Natalie looked back at Bobby and shrugged. "I'm going outside to get some air. Don't worry." Natalie raised her hands up, in a motion to calm Bobby, before walking out onto the porch. Now that she was standing in silence once again, Natalie could feel her body slouch in annoyance. I am tired of waiting.
A sudden gush of wind behind her caused Natalie to freeze instantly. She slowly turned around only to see Castiel standing before her. Natalie opened her mouth to speak but Castiel beat her to it.
"Do you still want to help them?"
Natalie furrowed her brows slightly and nodded her head. "Yeah...but—'
At this Castiel raised his hand to Natalie, "We need to do this quick." and pressed his fingers to her forehead. Natalie found herself standing next to parked cars, seeing that she was in a completely different place.
She turned around, scanning the area around her, "Where are we?" Natalie asked, looking back at Castiel.
"I brought you to where Anna is. Nineteen-seventy eight to be exact." Castiel replied.
Natalie's brows raised in surprise. "You brought me here...but why? I thought taking Sam and Dean alone would weaken you."
"I owe you." Castiel responded.
Natalie shook her head confusingly. "What do you mean, 'you owe me'?"
Castiel hesitated, searching for what he needed to say. "I owe you for not being there, when you really needed me." Castiel said, his eyes gazing down to her right side where the wound was.
Natalie let out a sigh and pursed her lips. "You really didn't have to Cas."
"It's the least I could do." Castiel replied. Castiel went to say something when his body suddenly crippled, his hand leaned against one of the cars in an attempt to slowly lower his body to the ground. Natalie's eyes went wide as she stepped forward, taking a hold of Castiel's arm, lowering him down until she felt his body make contact with the ground.
"Cas! Are you okay?" Natalie knelt down in front of Castiel, cringing slightly at the blood that was just beginning to stream down from his nose. "Oh god, Cas. If bringing me here was going to do this to you, then you should have just left me back there." Natalie pressed, wiping the blood from his nose with the sleeve of her sweater.
Castiel gently patted her hand away, "It's fine. I'm fine."
Natalie scoffed lightly, "No, you aren't fine Cas. I need to get you out of here. Where's Sam and Dean?" Natalie asked, leaning back onto her feet, allowing her head to pop up from behind the car they were crouching behind. Her eyes fixed on Sam and Dean, and for a brief moment she felt a sense of relief, it was only when Sam and Dean saw her that her face fell. The looks on their faces was one of confusion and a little bit of panic. Natalie smiled half-heartedly and gave them an awkward wave. "Oh god here we go." Natalie mumbled.
Sam and Dean quickly made their way across the street. Dean walked over to Natalie, his eyes already questioning her. "Nad, what the hell are you doing here?"
Natalie stared up at the boys, her mouth agape, trying to give them the explanation, but nothing was coming out. Castiel's arm tug in her grip, snapping her out of her trance, "Cas came back and brought me here." She said finally, her attention now fully on Castiel.
Dean looked from Natalie to Castiel, his eyes widening. "Cas, why the hell did you bring her?"
Castiel took a few breaths, his eyes looking up at Sam and Dean, then grabbed a hold of Natalie's arm, trying to hoist himself back up on his feet. Only making it halfway up, Castiel suddenly coughed up blood that streamed down his chin and splattered against Natalie's sweater.
Natalie jumped at his cough, her eyes widening in panic. "Cas!" She felt his body go limp and braced her grip on his arm, leaning him against the car.
Sam leaned down next to Natalie, his hand hovering over his mouth, "He's still breathing...though barely."
"We need to get him somewhere." Natalie said, looking at Sam, who nodded in agreement.
"Alright then." Dean leaned down grabbing a hold of Castiel's arm, while Sam took hold of the other arm, both of them hoisting Castiel up to his feet. "There's a motel down the block, let's get him there."
Natalie leaned against the payphone Sam was currently in, her head turning to him at the sound of paper being ripped. She then watched as two people walked by them, one of them showing off a huge mustache. Natalie tried to suppress a smile, but failed at the look on Sam's face.
"I mean, come on, the freaking mustache..." Sam began, only to be cut off by Natalie's snickering.
Dean walked out of the motel and made his way over to them. "Okay, so I paid for Cas for five nights up in the, uh, honeymoon suite. And I told the manager, 'Do not disturb no matter what'. And you know what he said to me?" Natalie's brows raised in questioning, though she could tell it was going to be something amusing by the tone of Dean's voice. "He said, 'Yeah. Don't sweat it. Want to buy some dope?"
Natalie felt her body jolt at the sudden laugh that came out, "This place is just paradise, isn't it?" She added sarcastically.
Dean then turned to Natalie. "Yeah, sarcasm and the dope aside. Why the hell did you let Cas bring you here?"
Natalie stared at Dean, her smile slowly disappearing. "I didn't want him to take me here. He just appeared and asked if I still wanted to help you two. Of course I said yes and then..." Natalie motioned around her. "...we ended up here. He said that he owed me for not being there to help when I got shot."
Dean sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Well, we can't send you back, so let's just get this done. Just, Nad..." Dean pointed to her. "...just...be careful please. That wound is still...vulnerable. Don't start getting to reckless."
Natalie nodded at his words and rolled her eyes. "I know Dean. Let's just get this done."
Dean nodded and looked over at Sam. "Did you find them?"
"Yep. The Winchester. Four-eight-five Robintree." Sam answered.
"Well then..." Dean began with a small smile. "Let's go pop in on the folks."
Their car came to a stop outside of the house as Natalie gazed out the windshield spotting the Impala in front of them, a small smile appeared on her lips. The three of them get out and Sam began to quickly make his way towards the house.
"Sam. Sam. Wait, just hold on." Dean called out.
Sam stopped and turned to Dean and Natalie, "Anna could be here any second."
"What exactly are we tell them?" Dean questioned.
"Uh, the truth."
"What, that their sons are back from the future to save them from an angel? An angel gone Terminator? Come on. Those movies haven't even come out yet."
"Well, then tell her demons are after them. I mean, she thinks you're a hunter, right?" Sam asked.
"Yeah, a hunter that disappeared right when her dad died. Oh yeah, she's gonna love me." Natalie casted Dean a confused look.
"Wait...have you been back here before? I mean this time period?" Natalie asked.
Dean sighed, "That's another story I need to tell you some other time." Dean looked at the house, thinking up what he was going to say to his mom and dad. He then looks at Sam, "Just follow my lead. Both of you."
Dean heads past Sam towards the house, the other two following closely behind him. Dean stands before the door, taking in a deep breath, before ringing the doorbell. Natalie stood behind Sam and Dean, but she could see their faces, and she saw various expressions written on them. Anxious, nervousness and uncertainty. She had to admit, if she went back in time to see a younger version of her parents, she would most likely be feeling the same thing.
The door opened, with a young blonde haired woman standing before them. Natalie felt something brush against her hand and she looked down, to see Sam reaching for her hand. Natalie looked back up at Mary, her hand grasping onto Sam's, her lips twitching into a small smile at the small squeeze his hand gave hers.
"Hey, Mary." Dean finally spoke.
Mary shook her head faintly. "You can't be here."
"I'm sorry if this is a bad time." Dean began.
"You don't understand. I'm not—' Mary tried to speak but soon her attention was attracted to Sam, who had been staring at her the whole time. Her eyes moved over to Natalie, a look of curiosity filled them. "I don't do that anymore." Mary finally said, her attention focusing back to Dean. "I have a normal life now. You have to go."
Mary goes to close the door when Dean holds his arm out, stopping her. "I'm sorry, but this is important, okay?"
A young man soon appears next to Mary, clearing his throat in the process. Mary looks over at him, "Sorry, sweetie, they're just..."
"Mary's cousins." Dean was quick to say, only to have Mary smile awkwardly. "We couldn't stop through town without swinging by and saying 'hey', now, could we?"
Dean holds his hand to the man, who quickly takes it. "Dean."
The man nodded, his eyes narrowing at Dean. "You look familiar."
"Really? Yeah, you do too, actually , you know? We must have met sometime. Small towns, right?"
The man smiled and nodded. "I'm John." John offered his hand over to Sam, who simply stared at it for a moment before taking it.
"This is Sam." Dean spoke for him.
"Sam. Uh, Mary's father was a Sam." John added.
"Yeah, uh, it's a family name." Dean said.
Natalie looked over at Sam, seeing that his hand hadn't let out of John's. Natalie reached up and gently nudged Sam's arm. "...sam..." Sam looked down at her, watching as she eyed his hand, and soon let go of John's hand.
"You alright pal? You looked a little spooked." John said.
Sam let out a breath and nodded. "Oh. Oh, yeah. It was just a long trip."
John nodded at Sam's response, his attention then focusing on Natalie. "And you are?" John asked, holding his hand out.
Natalie looked at him surprisingly, then gently took his hand. "Natalie."
"Nice to meet you Natalie." John responded, their holds dropping.
"Well, Sam, Dean and Natalie were just on their way out." Mary implied, casting Dean a hardened look.
"What? They just got here. Real happy to meet the folks from Mary's side. Please come on in for a beer." John offered.
Dean smiled and nodded. "Twist my arm." He said making his way into the house.
Natalie gently ushered Sam into the house before her and soon followed, offering Mary an apologetic smile. Natalie then stopped and turned to Mary, "Do you mind if I use your bathroom?"
Mary nodded and pointed down the hallway, "It's the first down on the left." Natalie nodded in thanks and quickly made her way down the hallway towards the bathroom.
Natalie walked out of the bathroom, dusting at the wet spots on her sweater. She had tried to wash Castiel's blood from her sweater, though she only had poor results. I'm gonna have to wash this when I get back to Bobby's. Natalie sighed and gave up the task of trying to clean the fabric. She walked into the living room seeing Mary, Dean and Sam sitting down.
"Alright, you need to leave now." Mary said suddenly, sitting up from the couch.
"Okay, just listen—' Dean began to explain.
"No you listen. Last time I saw you, a demon killed my parents. Now you waltz in here like you're family? Whatever you want—no. Just leave me alone."
Natalie walked further into the room. "Listen, you need to hear us out alright."
"You and John are in danger." Sam added.
Mary looked at the three of them. "What are you talking about?"
"Something's coming after you." Dean added.
"Demon?"
"Not exactly."
"Well, what then?" Mary asked, looking at them expectantly.
"It's kind of hard to explain, okay? It's—'
"An angel." Sam interrupted.
Mary laughed at Sam's answer. "There's no such thing as angels."
Dean scoffed, "Yeah, I wish. But they're twice as strong as demons and not to mention bigger dicks."
"Why would an angel want to kill us?"
"It's a long story, and we'll tell you the whole thing, but right now, you've got to trust us, and we got to go." Mary began to eye Dean skeptically. "Look at my face and tell me if I'm lying to you."
Mary studied Dean's face, seeing that there was no lies within his words. "Okay. Where do we go?"
"Out of here. We got to move now, though." Dean responded.
"What do I tell John?" Mary asked.
Dean hesitated for a moment, thinking it through. "Just tell him..." Dean looked around the room, "John?" Silence only answered him. Dean looked over at Natalie, who backed up into the hallway. Her eyes spotted something on the phone and she quickly grabbed it.
Be back in 15 J
Natalie let out a sighed, pressing her tongue against the side of her cheek. She holds up the piece of paper to Dean, allowing him to read the small note. "Son of a bitch." Dean murmured before turning around. "Alright let's go. We need to find John." Natalie placed the not back on the phone and followed them out of the house.
I decided to give you all a long chapter since the last few have been short, filler chapters. Don't forget to leave me a review! Xx
