Epilogue: 3 months later.
Lacey stood in front of her mothers headstone holding a single white rose, her moms favorite flower. She'd been standing there for the last forty minutes talking to her mom. She heard someone walk up to her, she turned her head looking at the person and smiled a little seeing Jax. "Everything okay?"
He nodded. "We gotta get going."
"Okay." She turned back to her moms headstone and crouched down placing the rose in front of the headstone. "I'll come see you again soon. I love you." She stood back up and faced Jax. "Let's go." They walked out of the cemetery and got on his motorcycle.
On the drive to Gemma's house Lacey couldn't help but think of how close she came to losing more than just her baby. She'd never told anyone before about her experience when her life was slowly draining from her. She'd seen and talked to her mom who urged her to keep living, if not for herself, then for Jax and everyone else who was alive that loved and cared for her. She was too young to die.
Before she knew it, Jax walking pulling up to the house. They got off the motorcycle and went to walk inside when Jax held her back. He stopped walking and took her hand in his. She turned to face him.
"Are you okay?" He asked concerned. She'd just been medically cleared two days ago but the miscarriage was still raw on their minds. But today she seemed at ease.
"Yeah. I have you, Gemma, Donna, the guys and I'm still alive. I'm finally at peace with everything that's happened. Today for me is about a new beginning." She smiled reassuringly.
He smiled back at her, leaning forward for a quick kiss. "We should get inside before mom sends out a search party."
"What are we doing here anyway?" She asked as he lead her up to the front door.
He just smiled opening the door and let her walk inside before him. She looked at everyone surprised when they jumped out from behind something yelling, "Happy 21st Birthday."
Her eyes landed on Jax. He smiled seeing how happy she looked for the first time in months, even years.
"Did you plan this?" She asked pulling him into a hug.
He nodded, "with help from mom."
She pulled back enough to look at him. "I love you."
"I love you too." He smiled and gave her another quick kiss.
He stayed standing where he was while everyone hugged and wished Lacey a happy birthday. He couldn't help but smile. His old lady was stronger than half the guys he knew. Not many people would go through what she'd been through and come out of it with a positive attitude like hers.
He walked over to her as she was talking to Chibs. "You don't mind if I steal her away from you for a few minutes?"
"Go for it. I'll talk to you later, Lass." Chibs kissed her cheek before Jax led her out into the backyard.
"Everything okay?" She asked him.
"I haven't got a ring yet but I was just thinking we should get married."
"What? Like now?" She asked shocked. He laughed.
"No, not right now."
"Full of surprises today, aren't you?" She smiled.
"I just want to make you happy."
"I am happy."
"Then will you marry me?" He asked, hopefulness in his voice.
She bit her bottom lip, trying to stop herself from crying and ruining her make up. Jax let out a sigh of relief when she nodded her head and kissed him before pulling away and whispering, "Yes, I'll marry you."
