Chapter XXXV: Bruise Cruise

Point of View- Astrid

The day of the tournament in India... well the night before anyway. Maddy had come back the previous day, but hadn't been back to the base since. 'You sure you'll be ok on your own Maddy?' 'I'm not on my own- I've got Jodi and Sakura.' Just then, someone knocked on the door. 'I'll get it.' Phil then opened the door. 'Jana.' 'I came to see Maddy.' 'How did you know she was out of hospital?' 'I just know- I want to see her.'

'It's ok Dad- let her in.' 'Fine.' Jana then came in. 'I just wanted to see how you were getting on.' 'Thanks- I'm hanging in there.' 'If you want, I can find some wild berries to use as medicine for you.' 'Thanks Jana, but there's no cure for my ribs other than time.' 'I understand. May I stay a while?' 'Not up to me.'

'As long as you trust her and she's gone by the time we're back.' 'Phil, be polite will you. Of course you can. If you need anything Maddy, just tell us.' 'Thank you.' We then left for the airport. 'Why were you defending Jana there?' 'Everyone makes mistakes. Besides- Maddy can deal with her if she steps out of line.'

'In her condition?' 'Jana wouldn't hurt Maddy- there's too much respect there.' 'Where was the respect when she tried to overthrow Maddy?' 'Ambition got in the way of her judgement. Why don't you focus on the duelling?' 'Good idea. Remembered the titles?' 'Yeah- don't see why I have to carry them both though.'

'You're stronger than Rio, and our suitcase is full.' 'I can take one myself you know.' 'Sort it out between yourselves.' 'Ok, thanks. Remembered your new attires?' 'Of course. Where's Kris?' 'He'll be catching us up- Sakura's driving him down on her way to come and see Maddy.' 'When are you and Kris gonna smooch?'

'Not for a while yet.' 'Grow up Rio- love isn't about kissing. It's about showing that you deeply care for one another.' 'What about you Blair- how many' 'We've kissed on a few occasions, and that's it. Will you drop the subject now?' 'It's romantic though.' 'It's not valentine's day.' 'True, but' 'Thankfully, we're here.'

We then got out and met up with Sakura, Ally, Kris, Taylor, Kelly, and Jaden, as well as our Security (Callum and Zack). Straight away, Phil went up to Kris. 'How you doing?' 'Ready to rock. I'm looking forward to kicking Claude's ass all over India.' 'There's not going to be a great deal left of Kari and Radley after me and Blair take our titles back.' 'Like the confidence. You know Taylor and Kelly are showcasing our new entrance music there?'

'I've not got any- I told them not to bother with mine.' 'Really?' 'Yeah- they were unsure what to base it on. They're working on some for me and Hannah jointly, but they've been having some very lively debates about it.' 'Don't I know it- I have to sleep next door to 'em. Listen, I don't get soppy or anything, but thanks for the support during my chemo.'

'Never leave a man behind and all that. I respect you and I respect the way you fought. And most of all, I respect your reasons for being in the club.' 'Nice to know. I respect you- I've respected you for 10 damn years. I'm not going to start disrespecting you now. Because I know that without you and Hannah and Jaden, there would be no WDC. I just wish Astrid would listen to you more often.'

'Meaning?' 'I'll tell you later- she's right over there.' They then returned. 'Right- who fancies heading to India?' We then got on the plane. 'Jack, how are you?' 'Good mate. How's Maddy getting on- Rio told me what had happened.' 'She's back home, but a way off returning to duelling yet.' 'Her title?' 'That's taken care of- 90 day no compete clause.' 'She'll be back in 90?' 'Hope so.' 'I see you're carrying some more gold.'

'Yeah- tag-team titles from Wales.' 'Nice. Which two of you are taking the titles home from Radley and Kari?' 'Me and Blair- Rio's after the WDC Championship... once she beats her brother.' 'What- Nash?' 'Yeah- due to them drawing in London, they're having a rematch in India. Is there any chance of getting us straight to India?'

'If I fill this baby up before we go, we can get there on one tank. But it will take longer.' 'Will we be there in time?' 'Should have an hour or two before you're due to hit the stage.' 'Cheers mate.' 'Kris- nice to have you with us.' 'Yeah- making a big return. You been to see the Red Sox yet?' 'No, but I'm booking myself a ticket for a few weeks' time- facing the Orioles in their own backyard. I'll probably stay overnight because I've got an old flame who I still get on with living in Baltimore.'

'That's cool- I've booked myself a box for that match. Fancy joining me? I need a guest and Astrid isn't too keen on baseball.' 'How do you know that- you've never asked me. As it happens, I quite like baseball. It's just that you don't get to see much baseball on a remote Norweigen island with no sattelite TV connection. But if you want to invite Jack, I'll just pay for myself to be another guest.'

'Sounds good man. Now let's fuel up eh?' After Jack refuelled, we took to the skies. 'What's the official card?' 'Here- downloaded it like I normally do.' 'Thanks Hannah.' 'Isn't a problem at all Kris.' The card was as follows:

'Kris vs. Claude eh?' 'Yeah.' 'Can't wait to see Claude get his but kicked.' 'He'll probably have some way of getting out of it.' 'I suppose.' 'We'll have to wait and see anyway.' 'What's up with Rio?' 'Meaning?' 'She's barely spoken all day.' 'She's focused- it would be her first ever shot at the WDC Championship remember?' 'I suppose. I'm just used to her being cheerful.'

When we landed in India, we got off of the plane and were immediately mobbed by journalists. 'What's happened to Maddy?" "Will she be vacating the Young-Gun Title?" "Did Claude end Maddy's career?" Claudia (as our now officially nominated spokesperson) took the questions. 'All we will tell you is that Maddy is not with us at the moment. She will explain everything in her own time. Until then, we request that you do not harass her in any way, otherwise we will be forced to take legal action to ensure her privacy.'

Callum and Zack then carved a path through the crowd for us to get through with the cars (Hannah driving the Rolls-Royce and Phil driving the Impreza). 'That was hectic.' 'That's the dark side of duelling- the journalists always want the latest news. And Maddy's a hot commodity- people will pay to find out about her.'

'What does Maddy think about it?' 'Why don't you ask her?' 'I will do when we get back thanks. Can we ring her now using the intercom?' 'No.' 'Why?' 'I need the sat-nav- out of everyone in the club, Jodi's the only one who's ever been to India, and she's keeping Maddy company.' Eventually, we made it to the stadium.

Straight away, Phil and Rio went to one side. 'You ok?' 'Want to beat him so bad. I've only ever beaten him once, and that was with a deck you made.' 'Just focus. Remember that you're not the person you used to be.' 'You mean Barian?' He just nodded. 'I can't force you to use your Barian cards if you don't wish to. But don't be afraid- treat it as a gift.' 'Thanks. You and Blair?'

'If you want us to be there, we'll be there. If not, we won't.' 'Thanks- I need to do this on my own.' 'I understand. I'll let Blair know for you. Just remember- if you're in a corner, use this.' 'Shockwave.' 'Yes. I'm sure you understand.' 'Thank you.' Rio then left. 'Phil?' 'Yes Astrid?' 'I wanted to thank you- for making me understand.'

'I didn't make you do anything Astrid. Keep believing in yourself.' 'I take it there's no team orders for my title duel tonight?' 'No- the only orders are to take out Murder Inc. before turning on each other. I'll relay that order to Lydia and Freja as well.' 'As long as the titles come back to the club. Is Kalin officially a member?'

'No- if he wants to apply, he'll have to speak to Rio about it while Maddy's still off.' 'Thanks. I'll see you later.' I then ran off to catch up with everybody else. A few minutes later, we were in the stadium waiting for the tournament to start. Rio's music then began as the crowd started cheering. 'Your opening duel at WDC World Tour: India is the Grudge Match where the winner will be added to the main event for the WDC Championship. Introducing first, representing the Renegades, from Twin Falls, Idaho, she is the Interim President of the Renegades and one half of your NWD Tag-Team Champions- Cold Blooded Rio Kastle.'

Rio slowly walked out, cold mist following her as she walked towards the duelling zone, which in India was a large rectangular steel box emblazoned with the Indian flag and WDC logo. When she got to the duelling zone, the masked individuals who had attacked me previously came out. Before they got chance to do anything though, Jake and Kalin came out, and Jake had a mic.

'Is this really what you want? Take advantage of someone standing on their own? Because if it is, then you're going to be disappointed.' 'Jake's ready to fight, I'm ready to fight. We've spent all afternoon in a bar with these fans, and promised them that the WDC's first trip here will be memorable. Make it memorable in the right way though.'

Callum and Zack then went down. Callum looked at Jake and Kalin, and then the 4 of them went at it with the 7 masked individuals. Eventually, the 4 of them got the upper hand and started taking down masked individuals one by one. The last one then then tried to run away, but Rio grabbed them in a sleeper hold. She then ripped the mask off, but the girl who was uncovered ran off before she could be fully identified by everyone. Rio then thanked Kalin and Jake, as Nash warped in.

'Introducing her opponent, from Banishment, USA, he is Nash.' Nash stared at Jake and Kalin as they left, before turning his attention to Rio. They then went face-to-face. 'We don't have to do it this way.' 'No- we do. One of us must win.' Rio then returned to her zone, as did Nash. They then both activated their duel disks, as Maltby came out.

'As Bolton is not yet ready to return to official duties, I am in charge once again. And under orders from the Board of Directors, I am here to declare that if this duel is to end in a draw, you will both be a part of the main event. Now let the duel commence.' Before the duel commenced, Rio tossed Shark Drake to Nash. 'Trust me, you'll need it.'

Grudge Match: Nash LP:4000 vs. Rio Kastle LP:4000

Turn 1- Nash- "I'll begin. I draw. I summon Needle Sunfish (Atk:1500). I end my turn with 3 face-downs.'

Rio- 'I draw. I activate Dark Room of Nightmare. I'm not going to explain it, because instead, I'm going to summon Snow Dragon (Atk:1400). Snow Dragon, attack Needle Sunfish.' Snow Dragon spat a frozen breath at Needle Sunfish, which responded by shooting needles back at Snow Dragon, destroying it (Rio LP:4000-3900).

'When Snow Dragon's destroyed, I can give your monster an Ice Counter. In addition, I activate Aqua Call. This lets me replace my destroyed monster with another one that's a Level 4 or below Aqua monster. I summon Cold Enchanter (Atk:1600). Enchanter's ability gives her 300 extra Attack points for every Ice Counter on the field (Atk:1600-1900).'

'Now attack that Sunfish with Frostbite Slice!' Cold Enchanter sliced through Needle Sunfish with it's knife-like staff, destroying it (Nash LP:4000-3600, Cold Enchanter Atk:1900-1100). "Needle Sunfish's ability just stung your monster for 500 Attack points due to it being destroyed.' 'Fine- I end my turn with a face-down.'

Nash- 'I draw. Why don't you admit who you are.' 'Because I don't want to be anything like you. You just want me to be under your thumb like I always was. I'm me, but you don't' 'Don't tell me I don't understand Rio. This isn't about Barian World, this is about me and you- nothing else. If you truly believe what you say, show me your beliefs- make me believe. Because if you don't, I will destroy you and then build you back up with me. I summon Double-Fin Shark (Atk:1000). Next, I can Special summon Silent Angler (Atk:800)."

"Double Fin Shark's ability treats it as two monsters for an Xyz summon. I overlay three Level 4 monsters to build the overlay network and summon Number 32- Shark Drake (Atk:2800)." 'I was waiting for that.' "You were?" 'Yeah- I activate Nightmare Wheel. This puts your Shark Drake in a nasty position, unable to attack or switch Battle positions. In addition, you'll take 500 points of damage during every Standby phase of yours.'

The big Nightmare Wheel then dropped onto Shark Drake, trapping it. "You" 'Fooled you. Seems I've grown up a bit.' Nash then smiled. "Seems you're right Rio- you have grown up. I'm actually impressed." 'So you should be.' "We'll see. I'll throw down a face-down to finish my turn up.'

Rio- 'I draw. I summon Aurora Wing (Atk:1200). Next, I tribute it and my Cold Enchanter to Special summon Ice Master (Atk:2500). Ice Master's ability lets me give Shark Drake an Ice Counter once per turn. I end my turn.'

Nash- "I draw." 'Don't forget about Nightmare Wheel and Dark Room of Nightmare.' Nightmare Wheel ground away at Shark Drake, firing skin from it at Nash (Nash LP:3600-2800). "I end my turn."

Rio- 'My turn. I summon Blizzard Falcon (Atk:1500). Next, I activate the Field spell Lemuria the Forgotten City.' The field then changed to a submerged civilization with ancient relics above sea level. 'This Field spell allows me to give all Water monsters 200 more Attack points (BF Atk:1500-1700, IM Atk:2500-2700, Number 32 Atk:2800-3000).'

'Blizzard Falcon's ability now activates. With Dark Room of Nightmare, that's 1800 points of damage.' Blizzard Falcon glowed light blue, and blasted Nash with a sharp charge, reducing his Life points further (Nash LP:2800-1000). 'I end my turn with a face-down.'

Nash- "I draw." 'I activate the effect of Nightmare Wheel. Say goodbye to more Life points.' Nightmare Wheel ground away again, giving Rio a big lead (Nash LP:1000-200). "I'll rebuild the overlay network with Rank 4 Shark Drake. Go- Chaos Xyz Evolution! I summon Chaos Number 32- Shark Drake Veiss (Atk:2800-3000)."

"I now activate Chaos Number 32's ability. By detaching one Chaos Overlay Unit, I can reduce the Attack points of your monster to zero." Shark Drake Veiss slashed at Ice Master, sapping all of it's strength (Atk:2700-0000). Now destroy Ice Master with Devestating Deep-Sea Demoltion!" Shark Drake Veiss smashed straight through Ice Master with a menacing miasma, throwing Rio back (Rio LP:3900-900).

"I end my turn- this is your last chance to show me what you truly stand for." A new look then appeared in Rio's eyes.

Rio- 'Big brother, this is all the proof you'll ever need. Renegades Chaos Draw! I understand- embrace the gift. I activate Rank-up Magic the Seventh One! With this, I can call upon the gift that I possess. Appear, Number 103- Ragnazero (Atk:2400). Next, I rank it up. Go- Chaos Xyz Evolution! Barian's power, born of chaos, help me to achieve glory! I summon Chaos Number 103- Rangafinity (Atk:2800).'

"Ragnafinity, activate your ability. By detaching one Chaos Overlay Unit, you take damage equal to the difference between Shark Drake Veiss' original Attack and current Attack.' "There is... you got me." 'I was waiting for you to summon Shark Drake Veiss. I knew- I just knew that what I drew would show me what I needed to do.'

Ragnafinity spun her scythe, and pink light enveloped Nash, ending the duel (Nash LP:200-0000). After the duel, Nash got up and went to hug Rio, but she pushed him away. "Rio?" 'I accept you are related to me. Too much has happened though. If you really want to win me back, leave me alone for a while, ok? Then we'll talk.' She then turned around as the announcement came through. 'Your winner- Rio Kastle.' Rio then came back up to us.

'Good job Rio.' 'Thanks Phil.' 'You'll have to improve for the main event though- you ran it close there.' 'I know I did. I'll be changing my deck up to deal with Kieran and Rhydian. Because I know it'll basically be a handicap duel.' 'By the way, I've been meaning to ask- who was the guy you unmasked?' 'It wasn't a guy- Zuzu Boyle.'

'Your mate from childhood?' 'Yeah. I'm even more determined now.' 'To win the WDC Championship?' 'Yeah. I've got a family- all of you are my family. What's up next again?' 'Jaden's open challenge- he's issued an open challenge to anyone who's won a singles title in the WDC.' 'Why though?' 'To prove his worth. Jaden's different now- he wins and he likes punishing his opponents.'

Jaden then came out to the Renegades music. 'The following is the Jaden Yuki Open Challenge, open to any former singles champion from the WDC. Introducing first, from the banks of the Missouri River, he is Jaden Yuki.' Jaden came out, and walked straight down, not looking at anyone. When he got to the duelling zone, he simply stared down the entranceway waiting for his opponent.

Finn's music then hit as he emerged from the entranceway to a very good reaction. 'Introducing his opponent, from The North Side, he is Fearless Finn Hofferson.' Finn came straight down to the duelling zone. When he got there, he stood in front of Jaden. 'What's happened to you Jaden? You used to duel because you loved it, not because that's what some chick told you to do.' 'You want to duel? Duel.' They then both activated their duel disks and began the duel.

Jaden Yuki Open Challenge: Jaden Yuki LP:4000 vs. Finn Hofferson LP:4000

Turn 1- Jaden- 'I'm taking the first turn. I draw. I summon Elemental Hero Sparkman (Atk:1600). I now equip him with Spark Blaster. This lets him change the Battle position of a monster during my turn. I choose to use it on himself (Def.:1400).' 'I'm aware that Spark Blaster can only be used 3 times.' 'Shut up. I end my turn with 2 face-downs.'

Turn 2- Finn- 'I draw. I summon Constellar Siat through it's ability (Atk:100). Next I summon Constellar Pollux (Atk:1600). Siat, I call upon your ability to increase your level to that of your wingman Pollux until the end of the turn (Level:1-4). Pollux's ability lets me Normal summon a second time this turn. Meet Constellar Algeidi (Atk:1600). I now overlay Level 4 Siat and Algeidi to build the overlay network and call upon Constellar Praesepe (Atk:2400).'

'Algeidi, attack Sparkman.' 'I activate the Trap known as A Hero Emerges. Now you have to pick a random card in my hand. If it's a monster, I get to summon it.' 'Don't see how it'll help, but fine- the one on the left.' 'I summon Elemental Hero Bladedge (Atk:2600).' 'Fine by me. Algeidi can still get rid of Sparkman.'

Constellar Algeidi kicked Sparkman, destroying it. 'Praesepe, attack Bladedge.' 'You're an idiot- it's far too weak.' 'Not after it's ability triggers. During a battle between your monster and a Constellar monster I control, it can detach an overlay unit to add 1000 Attack points to my monster for as long as the turn lasts (Atk:2400-3400).'

Praesepe quickly cut Bladedge down to size with it's sword, destroying it (Jaden LP:4000-3200). 'I will end my turn now (Atk:3400-2400).

Jaden- 'I draw. I activate Miracle Fusion. This fuses together the Bladedge and Sparkman in my graveyard to summon out Elemental Hero Plasma Vice (Atk:2800).' 'I've seen Plasma Vice a few times before- this is the Jaden I like more.' 'I don't care what you like. I activate the Spell Pot of Greed, giving me 2 more cards. 2 cards that I'll discard for the ability of Plasma Vice. By discarding 1 card, I destroy 1 Attack mode monster on the field. So 2 gets rid of both of them.'

Plasma Vice charged up a ball of electricity in it's hands, and unleashed it at Finn's monsters, swallowing both of them at once. 'Plasma Vice, attack directly.' Plasma Vice shot static electricity straight at Finn's heart, hurting him real bad (Finn LP:4000-1400). 'Get up- I'm not done with you. I end my turn with a face-down.'

Eventually, Finn got back up. 'Isn't the bit when you tell me to stay down?' 'No- if you stay down, it makes hurting you less rewarding.' 'You used to duel for fun Jaden.' 'This is fun- hurting people is fun. I didn't need Kenta, and just like him, you're going to wish you never came back.'

Finn- 'How about we test that theory? I draw. I activate Premature Burial, letting me exchange 800 Life points for reviving my Praesepe.' 'Not if I activate Cash Back. This negates the effect of a card that involves you paying Life points and destroys it altogether.' 'Good job I have this- Card of Sanctity. This lets both of us replenish our hands until they have 6 cards in them.'

'I summon Siat through it's ability (Def.:1600). Next I summon Constellar Kaus (Atk:1400). Siat, I call upon your power once more to mirror the Level of Kaus your comrade (Level:1-4). I now overlay two Level 4 monsters to create an overlay network. I call upon thee, Constellar Praesepe (Atk:2400).' 'Boring, next.'

'I now rebuild the overlay network with Rank 4 Praesepe. Rank Elevation Evolution! Hah! I call upon Constellar Ptolomy M7 (Atk:2700). M7, destroy Elemental Hero Plasma Vice.' M7 charged up a beam of light to destroy Plasma Vice, but Plasma Vice vanished before it could be hit. 'What trickery is this?'

'I activated my face-down Mask Change. This changes my monster into a new monster. Meet my new friend- Masked Hero Dian (Atk:2800).' 'I end my turn with a face-down.'

Jaden- 'I draw. I activate White Veil, equipping it to Masked Hero Dian. This will stop you from affecting Dian this turn. Destroy his Ptolomy M7.' Dian created an earthquake, destroying M7 (Finn LP:1400-1300). 'This is over! I activate Dian's ability. It lets me summon Elemental Hero Wildheart (Atk:1500). Wildheart, finish this.' Wildheart slashed at Finn with it's sword, ending the duel (Finn LP:1300-0000).

After the duel, Jaden started beating an injured Finn down. Kenta then made his return to new music (Tokiwakita: Time has Come by Jim Johnston), making Jaden withdraw. Kenta then grabbed a mic. 'Jaden! You never get rid of me. I am indestructible- I was biding my time. Chicago, 3 weeks' time, you and Maddy against me and a friend of mine- Shay.' 'You're on, but Maddy won't be competing- I'll have to select another partner.'

As Jaden came back up to us, the camera cut to the back, where Kalin and Claude were face-to-face. 'Kalin, here's my deal- £50,000 for you to throw the tag-title duel tonight.' 'Why.' "Astrid- she isn't trustworthy. You get money, I get Astrid to join us. Win-win for all parties." 'How stupid do you think I am? If mine and Astrid's team is to fall apart, it won't be due to me. Now out of my way.'

Claude then proceeded to beat Kalin down, slamming him into a wall back-first, before Phil chased him off with a pipe. 'Come back here bitch.' He then gave Kalin a hand-up. 'Thanks.' 'We both know I didn't do that for you.' Phil then left. 'Why is Phil so annoying?' The cameras then cut back as I got up.

'Astrid- I'm coming with you.' 'I'm fine.' 'To make sure Claude doesn't interfere. If I'm there, he won't be- he doesn't want to come fist-to-fist with me.' 'If Claude doesn't want to go anywhere near you, he won't interfere anyway.' I then left for the duelling zone.

Point of View- Hannah

Me and Phil then had a quick word with Lydia and Freja. 'What did you want to speak to us about?' 'The past few weeks have been kinda tricky- wanted to make sure you were both focused.' 'More so than ever.' 'I want to repeat what I told Astrid- I want a good clean duel, no underhand tactics, no interference. Most of all though, work together.'

'Pardon?' 'Lyds, he means to get rid of the champs.' 'Oh yeah- sorry.' 'No worries. Just wanted to make sure you both know what you're doing.' 'We know exactly what our job is. And sorry, but Astrid's going to have to wait to become a champion- if she wants a tag-title, she'll have to go after yours instead of ours.' 'Like the confidence.'

Just as the girls left, I got a call. 'Hello?' 'It's Jana here.' 'What's up?' 'Where's Maddy's insulin?' 'She's forgotten already?' 'Yeah.' 'Top cupboard, left hand side. The key for the padlock is Phil's birthday- 2107. Make sure to relock the cupboard afterwards.' 'Of course.' 'How's she getting on?' 'She's watching the entire show on TV. She has lost her voice though. Doesn't seem to be anything too wrong with her.'

'Where's Jodi?' 'Gone to get me and Maddy some lunch. I offered to go, but Jodi insisted she'd be quicker.' 'Fair enough.' 'Anyway- I've got to go- Jodi's forgotten her keys.' 'Ok, thanks- bye Jana.' The call then ended. 'Go on.' 'It was Jana- Maddy forgot where the Insulin was.' 'Fair enough. She ok?' 'Lost her voice, but apart from that, not too bad seemingly.'

We got back just in time to see Lydia and Freja making their entrance. Lydia had her hair down, and Freja had hers in 2 rear ponytails (a suggestion made by Astrid). 'The following is a triple-threat tag-team duel for the WDC Intercontinental Tag-Team Championships. Introducing first, representing the Control Core, from Manchester, England, they are the team of Lydia and Freja Mckinna- the Shapesisters.'

When Lydia and Freja got to the duelling zone, Lydia got her phone out, and they bpth put sunglasses on, taking a selfie. They then looked at it together, and waited for their opponents to emerge. After a lengthy delay, Kalin's music hit as he came out in his usual trench coat, but without his harmonica. 'Introducing the second team, first from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he is 2K- Kalin Kessler.'

When Kalin got halfway down to the duelling zone, he bowed his head, and Astrid's new music (Where No One Goes by Tormented Frankie and the Renegades Ban ) started as she came out. 'Introducing his tag-team partner, Fra landsbyen Berk , Norge, æsene Princess- Fearless Astrid Hofferson!' Astrid came out, and nodded to Kalin, before they slapped hands and came down to the duelling zone. When they got there, they immediately went face-to-face with Lydia and Freja, and shook hands with them. Lydia and Freja then took off their sunglasses.

Soon afterwards, the new music for the champs hit (Creeping Death by Metallica). 'Introducing the final team in this duel, accompanied by Albert Anastasia Jr., and representing the Brave Bones, from the Deadlands, they are your WDC Intercontinental Tag-Team Champions- David Marshall and Da Brooks Kid, Murder Inc.'

Marshall then picked up a mic. 'Yo, you lot- go home. You ain't taking no titles from us, not now, not ever. They belong to us, we're better than you, you have no hope.' 'Yeah!' 'And with the legendary Albert Anastasia Jr., we're invincible.' 'Yeah!' 'We can take whatever title we want, bleed this company for all it's money, we won't be stopped by no-one.' 'Yeah!'

They then came down to the duelling zone. When they got there, they eventually took off their titles and handed them to the official. Maltby then came out. 'I hope I ain't intruding here, but I want to make sure there's no interference. So if anybody interferes on behalf of the champions, they will lose their titles with immediate effect. But, if the champs prove they are as good as they say and win, there will be a reward- the winning team in this duel will be #1 contenders to the WDC Tag-Team Championships.' The 3 teams then all activated their duel disks.

WDC Intercontinental Tag-Team Titles: Shapesisters (Lydia and Freja Mckinna) LP:4000 vs. Astrid Hofferson and Kalin Kessler LP:4000 vs. Murder Inc. (Da Brooks Kid and David Marshall) LP:4000

Turn 1- Marshall- "Champs take the first turn. I draw. I summon Archfiend Soldier (Atk:1900). Next I equip it with Axe of Despair to give it 1000 more Attack points (Atk:1900-2900). I end my turn."

Kalin- 'I draw. I activate the Cost Down Spell. This lets me reduce the Levels of every monster in the field by 2. That allows me to summon this with no tribute- Infernity Destroyer (Atk:2300).' "What was the point of that? You lot- we're outta your league." 'If you don't start speaking properly, I suspect a very large man who my tag partner is friends with will come down and punch you very hard in the face. I'll give you 3 guesses as to who.'

'As for your monster, it's not going to be very scary once I activate Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Axe of Despair.' Mystical Space Typhoon blew threw the arena, knocking the axe from the hands of Soldier (Atk:2900-1900). 'None of us are allowed to attack until each team's had a turn, so I'll end mine with 2 face-downs.'

Lydia- 'I draw. I activate The Sanctuary in the Sky.' The field then changed to the familiar temple of Lydia's Sanctuary. 'While I control this, all Battle damage to the controller of a Fairy becomes 0. I now summon The Agent of Entropy- Uranus. I can Special summon it because Sanctuary is on my field (Atk:2000).'

'Next I summon Warrior of Zera (Atk:1600). He isn't staying though, because by tributing him with Sanctuary on the field, I can summon Archlord Zerato (Atk:2800). Zerato might not be allowed to attack this turn, but I can activate his ability. When Sanctuary is on the field, I can discard Light-attribute monster to destroy all monsters on your fields.'

Zerato whipped up a massive whirlwind, and directed it at the field, destroying Soldier and Destroyer. 'I end my turn with a face-down.'

Brooks- "I draw. I summon myself an Archfiend Soldier (Atk:1900). Next I give it an Axe of Despair myself (Atk:1900-2900). Destroy his Infernity Destroyer." 'I activate Depth Amulet. By discarding 1 card from my hand, your attack is cancelled.' "I end my turn."

Astrid- 'I draw. I summon out Guldfaxe of the Nordic Beasts (Atk:1600).' 'Double Summon help?' 'Yeah thanks. It lets me summon out Mimir of the Nordic Ascendant (Atk:600). I now tune Level 4 Guldfaxe with Level 4 Infernity Destroyer and Level 2 Mimir. Oh Thor, allmektig herre æsene , stige ned fra himmelen og levere hellig vrede over alle Thos som tør stå i veien! Stå opp Thor- Lord of æsene (Atk:3500).'

'I now activate Wild Nature's Release. This increase Thor's Attack by it's Defence until the end of the turn (Atk:3500-6300). Destroy Archfiend Soldier!' 'Hey Astrid, fancy some help getting the job done? I activate Rush Recklessly. This increases the Attack of Thor by 700 (Atk:6300-7000).' Thor brought his massive hammer down on the head of Archfiend Soldier, destroying it (Murder Inc. LP:4000-0000).

After that attack, Murder Inc. looked distraught. They then decided to watch the rest of the duel, possibly to attack the new champions (whoever they may be). Astrid then continued with her turn. 'At the end of the Battle phase, Wild Nature's Release destroys Thor. I end my turn and activate the ability of Thor. He revives himself and you take 800 damage when I banish Guldfaxe.'

Thor then emerged again (Atk:3500), before striking Lydia and Freja with lightning (Shapesisters LP:4000-3200).

Freja- 'Time to take control of the situation. I draw. I activate my own Cost Down. This lets me discard 1 card to lower the Levels of all the monsters in my hand by two. I now summon out Arcana Force IX- The Hermit (Atk:1900). I now activate Hermit's ability, letting me toss a coin. If it lands on Heads, Hermit is invincible in Battle and any monster that battles it loses 800 Attack and Defence points after the battle. If it lands on Tails though, Hermit can't attack, and when destroyed, I lose Life points equal to the Attack of the attacking monsters.'

She then tossed the coin and balanced it on her heel. 'That's Heads. Now I activate Emergency Recall.' 'Never heard of it.' 'Nor have I.' 'I'll explain, don't worry. Emergency Recall allows me to return a monster from our field to my hand. Then, I can summon out a monster from my deck whose Attack and Level are lower than the returned monster. I return Uranus and summon out Twin Barrel Dragon (Atk:1700).'

'Hermit, attack Thor.' 'You'll take damage- I take it Hermit isn't Fairy?' 'No- it's Rock. And I know we're taking damage, but it'll pay off in the end.' Hermit charged at Thor, and ran straight into it's hammer (Shapesisters LP:3200-1800). 'Now Thor loses 800 Attack and Defence points (Atk:3500-2700). Zerato, show 'em what we got with Sky Slicer.'

Zerato ascended into the air, before releasing blades of air at Thor, destroying it (Astrid and Kalin LP:4000-3900). 'Twin Barrel Dragon, time for an encore with Double Barrel Blaster!' Twin Barrel Dragon shot short pulses of electricity at Astrid and Kalin, reducing their Life points (Astrid and Kalin LP:3900-2200).

'I'm not quite done yet- I activate a card known as Greed Grado. Greed Grado activates at the end of the Battle phase when I destroyed a Synchro monster. It lets me draw 2 cards. I end my turn with 2 face-downs.'

Kalin- 'I draw. I activate Call of the Haunted, reviving Infernity Destroyer (Atk:2300). Next I summon Infernity Beetle (Atk:1200). I now tune Level 2 Infernity Beetle with Level 6 Infernity Destroyer to summon the mighty Infernity Doom Dragon (Atk:3000).' 'Nice monster Kalin- can't wait to do battle with it.'

'Who said you'll get chance?' 'This says- my face-down Phantom Hand. This banishes my entire hand face-up until my next Standby Phase.' Kalin then banished the remaining cards from his hand (Infernity Randomizer and ZERO-MAX). 'Infernity Doom Dragon, activate your ability. I can't deal Battle damage, so I'll settle for destroying Zerato. Then you take damage equal to 50% of it's Attack points.'

'Good job I've got Damage Condenser. This reduces the damage to 0. Then we all draw a card.' Infernity Doom Dragon unleased a blackened fireball, but Damage Polarizer created a mirror which absorbed the blow. 'You'll regret letting me draw Lydia- I activate Misfortune. This deals you with damage equal to half of Zerato's Attack points. I know I can't attack due to that effect, but I couldn't anyway.'

Misfortune triggered, and a miasma of Zerato appeared, knocking Lydia and Freja down (Shapesisters LP:1800-400). 'This... isn't... over yet.' 'I end my turn.'

Lydia- 'I draw! Time to take a chance- I activate Card of Sanctity. We all draw until our hands contain 6 cards. Get ready- I tribute our three monsters to summon out Moisture Creature (Atk:2800). Moisture Creature's ability activates because it was Tribute summoned with 3 monsters, destroying every Spell and Trap on the field.'

'I now activate Rush Recklessly, giving my mighty Moisture Creature 700 extra Attack points (Atk:2800-3500). Destroy Infernity Doom Dragon!' Moisture Creature swallowed up Infernity Doom Dragon in a moist cloud, before it exploded (Astrid and Kalin LP:2200-1700). 'I end my turn. I got us back in it sis (Atk:3500-2800).' 'Good job.'

Astrid- 'Hate to break up the party, but it's time to end this. I draw. This is the perfect card to end with- I activate Lightning Vortex. By discarding 1 card, I destroy all of your face-up monsters.' Astrid then ditched a card (Gift Card), destroying all of Lydia and Freja's monsters. 'You still need a monster to win.' 'Good job I have this- Ljosalf of the Nordic Alfar (Atk:1400). Ljosalf, attack directly.' Ljosalf flew around in the air, before firing a smal blast of ice at Lydia and Freja, ending the duel (Shapesisters LP:400-0000).

After the duel, Kalin took both tag titles, and looked at Astrid, before putting the title over her shoulder. They then raised their hands together as Rhydian and Kieran came out. "Well isn't this sweet eh? The blonde brat and the guy who doesn't know when to but out. I could take you both out right now if I wanted, but I've got some other stuff to do.'

Kieran then picked up Marshal, and without a moment's hesitation, punched him around the heart region, knocking him out. He then did the same to Brooks and their mate Albert. 'You two are failures- you know what I do with failures. Birchall was a failure, and I disposed of him. Now I'm doing the same to both of you two- you're not Brave Bones, you're cowards.'

Kieran and Rhydian then did the Brave Bones stance over Murder Inc., before leaving. Lydia and Freja then congratulated the new champs, and Kalin raised his title in front of the fans, who went absolutely nuts for him. 'Your winners and new WDC Intercontinental Tag-Team Champions, Kalin Kessler and Astrid Hofferson.'

Astrid then came back up with Kalin, while Lydia and Freja went backstage for an interview. When the champs came up, Phil got in Kalin's face, before eventually offering his hand, which Kalin shook. 'Your training with Astrid paid off.' 'All I did was tell her how good she was- that's all she needed.' 'I want to know more about the club you run.' 'I don't run it anymore.'

'You know what I'm getting at.' 'Why do you want to know?' 'If I like what I hear, I'll apply to join.' 'And if you don't?' 'If it's what you're getting at, I won't say a word to anyone- even if I don't like it, I'm not going to interfere. I'd sign any contract saying that if it made you feel better.' 'Speak more about it over the phone- here's my phone number.'

Kris then stood up. 'Time to kick some Danish ass.' Before he got chance though, Rhydian came back out with Kieran to a chorus of boos. 'Shut up- champ speaking. I just wanted to tell you that while the Brave Bones dropped the deadweight today, we are now going to introduce some new members. Without further ado, please welcome the new members of the Brave Bones- Akiza Izinski, Tee Taylor, Jesse Allen and Lukas Chipperfield, Black Rose Inc.'

Black Rose Inc's music hit as they came out, all wearing Brave Bones shirts, to a bigger chorus of boos. Akiza then took the mic from Rhydian. 'What have we here- the moment that we make a decision, we're all hated. Guess what- you can't stop us, not now. The time for taking is now, and we're taking with Rhydian and Kieran.'

The gloating was then ended by Kris coming out to his music. "What do you want, sick boy?" 'Honestly Akiza- I thought you stood for something. How many times have you begged to rejoin the Renegades?' "Surprise you're not using the usual "us" tactic." 'Tactic? Why would I do that? And I know why you took them under your wing Rhydian."

"Go on." 'It's because you know what's going to happen tonight. You're going to lose to Rio, and then you'll lose to her in your rematches. So then what you'll do is get Akiza to have a go, then Lukas, then' "Shut up." 'No. As I was saying, then Tee will have a go, then your little Rottweiler Kieran will have a go, and then Kiera, and then the cycle will continue until you fluke a win. Then you'll run away with the title, hide behind a corporate suit, I know the biz.'

The 4 members of Black Rose Inc. then attacked Kris, but ran off after Phil, Rio, and Blair came rushing down. Phil then took Kris' mic. 'Akiza you traitor! Come back here- you don't run this place- this is MY HOUSE! THIS IS MY YARD! Lukas, I paid for your Dad to still be on this planet- where's the thanks I get? I nearly lost my house for you!'

"Oh give it a rest." 'Don't worry Tee, I'm getting to you. I trusted you- I took you in- you lived with me, my wife, my daughter! You are even worse than Akiza! If any of you want a fight, I'm here and waiting!' Blair then took the mic. 'We'll take you on, we'll take Radley and Kari on, we'll take you all on! So who wants some?'

The No Remorse Corps then came out. 'You know, I've been thinking about it for a long while, and I don't think duelling you is a good idea Kris." 'Why's that?' "Well I am a Colonel, and you are... a sick boy with a stupid haircut. You need to earn a duel against me." 'Tell you what Claude, let's do a deal and sign a contract- each tournament from now on, I'll take on a different member of the Corps. If I beat them all, I get you 1-1. Is that enough for you?'

"No- you are never going to face me." Maltby then made a second appearance of the night. "What do you want fatso?" 'Be careful about what you say- I'm the boss at the moment. Tonight we will have Kris against Gil De Randsborg. If Kris wins, then next time out, he will face another member of the Corps based on their Rank according to you Claude. If Kris beats Randsborg today, he will earn a duel against you Claude. If he wins them all, then at WDC: Rivals in a couple of months, it will be you against Fearless Astrid Hofferson. Now please will everyone apart from Randsborg and Kris leave the duelling zone.'

Everyone left apart from Claude. Blair then turned around, and kicked Claude in the back of the head, sending him retreating. She then left as well, as Randsborg activated his duel disk. "Begone cretin- you shall wish you had never returned to here- you will shuffle off your mortal coil." 'Oh shut up- I came back to kick ass and chew bubblegum.' He then took his gum out and spat it out, sticking onto Randsborg's polished armour. 'Watch'ya gonna do about it?'

Kris Travis LP:4000 vs. Sir Gil De Randsborg LP:4000

Turn 1- Kris- 'I'm starting, I draw. I summon out X-Saber Darksoul (Atk:100). I now activate Double Summon, letting me tribute my Darksoul to Advance Summon X-Saber Gardestrike (Atk:2100). Darksoul's exit lets me activate it's ability, adding a Level 4 or below X-Saber Tuner to my hand. I end my turn with a face-down.'

Gil- "I draw. Come to me, Masked Knight Level the Third (Atk:1500). I activate it's ability most special- it deals you with 400 points of damage by refraining from offensive manouvers this turn." 'In other words, you're scared and screwed.' Masked Knight LV3 shot a small T-shaed blast from it's forehead, reducing Kris' Life points (Kris LP:4000-3600).

'Glad you've got all day.' "I doesn't know what you meaneth. My turn endeth with 2 face-down cards for you to ponder."

Kris- 'I draw. I activate the Field Spell called Saber Vault.' The field then changed to a locked vault. 'My X-Sabers will protect this vault with their lives, gaining 100 Attack points for every Level they possess (Gardestrike Atk:2100-2600). I now activate Rank-up Magic Renegades Unite! This lets me summon M-X-Saber Invoker (Atk:1800). Next I'll deal 600 points of damage to you.'

Renegades Unite shot out a blast of brown light, reducing Gil's Life points (Randsborg LP:4000-3400). 'Next I'll activate the ability of my Invoker to detach an overlay unit and summon out my X-Saber Fulhelmknight (Atk:1300-1600). Because I control at least 2 X-Sabers, I can summon X-Saber Faultroll (Atk:2400-3000).'

"Nothing shall dent the spirit and confidence of Masked Knight" 'Put a sock in it will ya? I'm fed-up of listening to you drone on. I activate The Inexperienced Spy. This allows me to look at one face-down of yours for 10 seconds. I choose the one on the left.' He then looked at it briefly. 'Level Up eh? With that he could get Masked Knight LV5 out. Ah, that ain't a threat. I activate Mystical Space Typhoon. This will get rid of your face-down- the one on the right.'

Mystical Space Typhoon then disposed of Randsborg's face-down (Mirror Force), destroying it. 'With that, you're cooked. I tune Level 3 Fulhelmknight with Level 6 Faultroll to Synchro Summon XX-Saber Gottoms (Atk:3100-4000). Gottoms, attack his Masked Knight.' "I activate Level Up! This allows me to send Masked Knight to the graveyard for services to the monarchy and replace it with Masked Knight LV5 (Def.:1300)."

'Good job I have Meteorain. This lets Gottoms deal piercing damage. Now slice up Masked Knight.' Gottoms sliced straight through Masked Knight LV5, reducing Randsborg's Life points (Randsborg LP:3400-700). 'Invoker, do your thing. Attack with Bull Sword Stab!' Invoker caught Randsborg in the gut with it's swords, ending the duel (Randsborg LP:700-0000).

After the duel, Kris simply raised his hand. 'Your winner- the One and Only Kris Travis!' Kris lifted his head, and stared down Randsborg, who struggled back up. 'Now do you believe?' "No- you are the same as ever. You are just a boy in a warrior's clothing." 'Let me be a warrior then.' "You can never be like us. You are never going to be a true warrior.'

Randsborg then turned around and left. Kris meanwhile just stared right on through. Eventually he left as well, and came back up to us, while Phil was talking to Lydia and Freja. 'You mean you agreed with our plan?' 'You two were great out there. Just have a bit of faith in yourselves once in a while. Anyway- time to take back our titles.' Phil, Blair, and Rio then left to get their new gear on.

Shortly afterwards, the lights went out. A live video link then came up on the big screens with Phil. 'Justice- a very familiar concept. We use it everyday to govern our actions. The concept of Yin and Yang, complete balance, it's all around us. What do you define as justice though? And how would you respond to people who disagree with your justice?'

Blair and Rio then appeared flanking Phil, and Rio spoke. 'Our justice is taking what we're owed. Our justice is gaining revenge on those who don't respect our ideals and our truths.' Finally, Blair spoke. 'Let the Trifecta lead the way.' The live video then went off. The lights then came back on, and the three of them were there, with Phil stood up with one of the NWD Tag-Titles, and Blair kneeling down with the other one. Their new music (Trifecta3 by TFATRB) then started as they came down to the duelling zone.

'The following is a No Disqualification Champions vs. Champions Duel for the WDC Tag-Team Championships. Introducing first, the challengers, representing the Trifecta Frozen Diamonds, they are the North Wales Duelling Tag-Team Champions, the team of Phil Robinson and the Rough Diamond Blair Flannigan.' When they got to the duelling zone, Phil and Blair posed with her crouched down in front of him. He then took off his sunglasses and took down his hood.

The champs then came out, on their own for once. 'Introducing their opponents, representing the No Remorse Corps, from the Barracks, they are your WDC Tag-Team Champions- the Sun-Tan Muscleman Radley, and Kari Tsukumo.' Kari and Radley walked straight down with their titles. When they got there, Kari took a mic.

'Why are you not duelling Rio? I want revenge still for what you did to Yuma you' Blair snatched the mic off of her. 'If that's such a concern to you, why are you here? Why are you not with your brother?' She then gave Phil the mic. 'If your brother's so important, invite him down here- why don't we meet your brother Kari?'

Kari and Radley then handed over their titles to the official, and Blair took off her jacket. 'You want to see something you'll never forget? Advanced Transformation!' Blair then transformed, with black spiked armour covering her elbows and knees, and her hair fanned out more and spiked at the ends. She was also wearing a red necklace that she'd received from her Grandma before moving to England.

WDC Tag-Team Championships: Trifecta Frozen Diamonds (Phil Robinson and Blair Flannigan) LP:4000 vs. No Remorse Corps (Radley and Kari Tsukumo) LP:4000

Turn 1- Blair- 'I'm starting. I draw. I set a monster and end my turn with 3 face-downs.'

Radley- 'I draw. I summon Amazoness Chain Master (Atk:1500). Chain Master, take out her face-down monster." Chain Master harpooned Blair's face-down monster (Gem-Turtle Def.:2000), but the harpoon broke (NRC LP:4000-3500). 'When Gem-Turtle's flipped face-up, I get to add one Gem-Knight Fusion from my deck to my hand.'

"I don't care- I end my turn with a face-down."

Phil- 'I draw. I activate Blaze Accelerator. That's not staying though, because ditching it allows me to activate Tri-Blaze Accelerator. This lets me send Volcanic Counter to the graveyard to destroy your Chain Master and whip you for 500 points of damage.' Tri-Blaze Accelerator loaded up with Counter, and then fired it out, destroying Chain Master (NRC LP:3500-3000).'

'I now set a monster in Defence mode and end my turn.'

Kari- 'Over to me. I draw. I activate Gagaga Academy Emergency Network. This lets me summon Gagaga Magician (Atk:1500). Next I summon Gagaga Sister (Atk:200). Her ability adds a Gagaga Spell or Trap to my hand. I now activate Double Summon, letting me summon Gagaga Girl (Atk:1000).

"Fine- I activate the ability of Magician to become Level 8 (Level:4-8). Next I activate Sister's ability to merge it's and Magician's Levels (Level:10). Gagaga Girl's ability makes her the same Level as Magician (Level:10). I now overlay 3 Level 10 monsters to build the overlaay network and summon Number 89- Utopic Dragon (Atk:4000)."

"Utopic Dragon, destroy Gem-Turtle." 'I activate Magic Cylinder, to negate the attack and deal you damage equal to it's Attack points.' Before the attack hit, Kari and Radley de-activated their duel disks and in desperation, ran off. The ref then counted to 10, but they didn't return. 'Your winners as a result of a count-out, the Trifecta Frozen Diamonds.'

Blair then grabbed a mic. And boy was she steaming. 'Come back here! Come back here! Maltby, get out here!' Maltby then came out, and Phil took a mic. 'Trust me- I'll handle this Blair. You just cool down girl. Geoff, how many times do we need to be screwed out of the titles?' 'Don't talk to me about it- I'm a matchmaker. I don't have any authority on titles.'

'Get the big boss out here then.' 'He's not here- he's away on business in Japan, as part of the World Championship host bidding process. Until then though, I can't do anything.' 'Give us a duel- let us challenge anybody to a tag-duel.' 'Open Challenge? I like the idea- that's something I can do. So anybody who wants to make a mark, please come out.'

Eventually, Eagle Adams came out. 'You have a partner?' 'Yeah- I was about to get to that thanks. My partner you see, is making her WDC debut here today. Please welcome The Rock Star- Caprice Morris!' Caprice then came out to Eagle's music, with her blonde and brunette hair (blonde at the base, brunette for top ¾ of it) waving about as she got a great response. She then took Eagle's mic.

'Wow- this is the big leagues then huh? Oh, hey Blair- long time no see. Tell me- when did you get so ugly and unkept? Is that what brainwashing does to you? Or is it just the big leagues? You really need a hair stylist.' 'You really like the sound of your own voice don't you Caprice? Well how about me and Blair welcome you to the WDC, where you're not handed anything- you earn it.'

'That's very kind of you. I mean, it's a shame you don't have any tag titles or anything, but we all know you're the rightful champs.' 'Not very often someone agrees with me. Fancy a duel then?' 'Why not- that's why I turned up here.' 'You can have your duel as soon as you apologise' 'It doesn't matter.' 'No Blair, I'm not having anyone insult' 'I said it doesn't matter. I'll speak to you about it later, ok?' Caprice and Eagle then activated their duel disks (Eagle's was light green with a sky blue trim, and Caprice's was a darker green with a flower in the centre).

Open Challenge: Trifecta Frozen Diamonds (Phil Robinson and Blair Flannigan) LP:4000 vs. Caprice Morris and Eagle Adams LP:4000

Turn 1- Caprice- 'Challengers begin.' 'Thanks. I draw. I set a monster and end my turn with a face-down.'

Phil- 'I draw. I activate the Field Spell Fusion Gate.' The field then changed to a cyberspace vortex. 'You're a clever girl Caprice, I'll let you explain what this does.' 'It makes you banish monsters to Fusion summon with them.' 'Correct. I activate the Spell Card Saving Soldiers. For 3 turns now, monsters destroyed in Battle return to their owner's hand. I set a monster and 2 Spells or Traps to end my turn.'

Eagle- 'My turn. I summon Mist Valley Falcon (Atk:2000). Next I throw down a face-down. I now return that face-down to my hand so Falcon can destroy your face-down monster.' Falcon sliced straigh tthrough the face-down monster (Cyber Larva Def.:800), destroying it. 'When Larva's destroyed, I can summon two more Larvas from my deck (Atk:400)x2.'

'True to form- I end my turn with a face-down.'

Blair- 'I draw.' 'Give it up, you're obviously not a challenge.' Blair then glowed purple. 'I'll show you a challenge. I activate Chaos Reactor, banishing Cyber Larva and letting me draw an extra card. I now activate the effect of Fusion Gate to fuse together Gem-Knights Obsidian and Garnet to Fusion Summon Gem-Knight Ruby (Atk:2500).'

'Next I activate it again, fusing together Gem-Knight Sapphire with Cyber Larva to summon Gem-Knight Seraphinite (Atk:2300).' 'You're still using those? Come on- this is the 21st Century Blair. Seriously Phil, you and Rio would be so much better off dumping the deadweight and competing with us- we'd be unstoppable.'

Phil then just smiled. 'I see you like my idea- you are the World Champion, after all.' 'If my only interest was winning, I wouldn't be tag-teaming with anybody Caprice. Blair and Rio want me to team up with them because they know they can learn from me. And by the way, the useless duellist you're talking about is the World Number 1, and my cousin- so I'd suggest you keep quiet.'

Rio then started cheering Phil and Blair on. 'Seraphinite, destroy that face-down monster.' Seraphinite sliced straight through Caprice's face-down monster (Naturia Cliff Def.:1000), destroying it. 'When Cliff's destroyed, I can summon any Level 4 or below Naturia monster from my deck. Meet Naturia Fruitfly (Atk:800). By the way, Fruitfly's ability causes your monster to lose 300 Attack and Defence for every Naturia monster on my field (Atk:2300-2000, Def.:1400-1100).'

'Fine- I end my turn with a face-down.'

Caprice- 'I draw. I summon out Naturia Pumpkin (Atk:1400, Seraphinite Atk:2000-1700, Def.:1100-800). Pumpkin's ability activates because you have a monster on the field. I can now summon another Fruitfly (Atk:800, Seraphinite Atk:1700-500, Def.:800-0000). 'Oh dear, it looks like Seraphinite's run out of Defence points. But Frutifly's other ability will bring it to victory by bringing it to my field.'

Fruitfly then glared at Seraphinite, which vanished, before re-appearing on Caprice's field (Atk:2300). 'I now throw down a face-down. Seraphinite, attack your former mistress.' 'You forgot Caprice- I've seen this deck before. I knew what your plan was, so I set this- Mirror Force. This destroys all monsters on your field in Attack mode. Which is all of them.'

Mirror Force countered the attack, blowing everything away, and destroying all of Caprice and Eagle's monsters. 'You...' 'You can't get into my head Caprice. Believe me- if you knew what was in there, you'd be as dangerous as I am. Oh, and stop trying to flirt with my cousin, he's got taste.' 'I end my turn! I hate you!'

Phil- 'I draw. I use the effect of Fusion Gate to fuse together the 3 Cyber Dragons in my hand to summon Cyber End Dragon (Atk:4000).' 'I activate Bottomless Trap Hole. This destroys your monster and banishes it.' Cyber End Dragon fell into a deep dark hole that opened up underneath it, banishing it.

'Thanks- just what I expected. I activate Miracle Dig. This returns 5 banished monsters from my banished pile to my deck. I then shuffle and draw 2 cards. I return 3 Cyber Dragons, Cyber Larva, and Gem-Knight Seraphinite. I now draw.' He drew his cards, and smiled. 'I activate Future Fusion. This lets me select monsters in my deck and send them to my Graveyard. Then in 2 turns, I can summon a corrosponding Fusion Monster. Or to put it another way, I ditch 15 Machines from my deck, and I can fusion summon in 2 turns. I now activate Swords of Burning Light. This stops you attacking so long as we control no monsters. I end my turn.'

Eagle- 'I draw. I summon Mist Valley Thunderbird (Atk:1100). Next I return it to my hand and summon Mist Condor (Atk:1400). Thunderbird summons itself back out now because it was returned to my hand (Atk:1100). Condor's Attack becomes 1700 when it's summoned through it's effect (Atk:1400-1700). I end my turn with a face-down.'

Blair- 'I draw. I'll end my turn with a face-down.' 'Say goodbye to your Swords then.' 'Why? It's not destroyed by us having Spells or Traps.' 'Really?' 'Yeah.'

Caprice- 'I draw. I set a monster in Defence mode and end my turn with a face-down.'

Phil- 'I draw. It's been 2 Standby phases since I used Future Fusion. Now behold the might and majesty of Chimeratech Fortress Dragon (Atk:?). 'It has no Attack points.' 'How many times do people say that to me?' 'Too much if you ask me. I'll take this one.' 'Fire away Rio.' 'You see that punctuation in the Attack column? It's called a Question mark.'

'We know that.' 'Now that means the Attack depends on something. Fortress Dragon's Attack depends on the monsters used to summon it- it gains 1000 Attack for every monster. I believe that Phil got rid of 15 Machines. Can you do 1000x15?' '15,000... oh no! (Atk:?-15,000).' 'I now equip it with my face-down- Rainbow Veil. This stops Spells or Traps from touching Chimeratech when it declares an attack.'

'Correct. Chimeratech Fortress Dragon, obliterate Mist Valley Thunderbird with Super Strident Bomb!' Chimeratech charged up a massive fireball, before firing it, and it swallowed up all of Caprice and Eagle's monsters, ending the duel with a massive explosion (Caprice and Eagle LP:4000-0000).

After the duel, Phil and Blair hi-fived, and then embraced with Rio. Phil then offered a handshake to Caprice and Eagle, which was accepted. 'Until next time.' Just as Phil and Blair left though, Blair was pulled back by Caprice and they got nose-to-nose. 'Believe me Blair- there is going to be a next time.' 'Can't wait.' Caprice and Eagle then left, talking. 'Your winners- the Trifecta Frozen Diamonds.' Phil raised Rio and Blair's hands, before leaving the duelling zone.
