Chapter 35: Loyalist Committee and Chancellor Meeting

Padmé led the group into the Chancellor's office. "Chancellor," Padmé murmured.

"I take this young lady is the protector, you were speaking of, Senator Amidala," He asked, motioning to Leia.

"Yes," Padmé replied. "This is Leia Calrissian."

"Look, I think it best if she were to return to Naboo," Chancellor Palpatine began.

"No," Padmé replied, "Leia will remain with me and I will pay her."

Palpatine glared at Padmé for several seconds before giving up. "Reasoning with you is impossible, Senator Amidala," He muttered, throwing his hands up in frustration. "Just like your father before you."

"Very well, then, as promised, perhaps you wouldn't mind having Master Kenobi aiding in your protection?" He offered.

Padmé nodded. "That will work, he's just returned from Anison, we'll have him and Padawan Skywalker bring along that stray Jedi they picked up as well," Master Windu said.

"Stray Jedi?" Leia asked. "What was their name? Just out of curiosity."

"Luke Calrissian, know him do you?" Master Yoda replied.

"Yes, he is my twin brother," Leia replied, letting out a sigh of relief at the knowledge her twin was alright.

Padmé then said, "I will meet the Jedi at my apartment."

The Jedi and the Chancellor nodded and the Loyalist Committee exited the office.
