"CJ, Little darlin." I groan and slowly open my eyes. I come face to face with my blonde haired, topaz eyed, southern accent speaking vampire of a brother. I smile. I was safe. I reach my left arm out and clasp Jaspers in it and squeeze.
"Hey Jazz." I whisper out as I slowly come out of my grogginess. I look around and see that I am still in Volterra. I groan and look back at the concerned face of my brother.
"Carlisle." Jasper calls, his eyes still locked onto mine. In the corner of my eye I see dad and I smile.
"I want to go home." I say hopefully. I see Jasper and dad nod.
"Yeah, I want you to come home as well. The others are going crazy worrying about you. We told them that we found you here and It took all of Emmetts strength to hold Edward and Esme back from coming here." Jasper tells me. I smile. Trust Edward and Mom. I smile and nod.
Jasper and dad help me stand from the bed. Dad makes sure that my side is bandaged before helping me change into a pair of black sweat pants and large red T shirt and black Hoodie along with some socks and ugg boots. My hair probably looked like a rats nest. I was comfortable so I didn't really care about what I looked like.
"Alright lets go." I whisper out. I clasp onto Jaspers hand with dad in front leading us. I always feel like its Dejavu when I head to the throne room. Its the doors, I reckon. The doors swing open an once again I am standing in front of Aro, Marcus, Caius, Jane and Alec. The difference is my father and Jasper are here with me. I clench jaspers hand tighter and he squeezes mine back. I let a small smile appear on my face before looking back at the gaylords sending them menacing glares.
"Well, Carlisle. Is she all fixed?" Aro asks standing up from his throne. I roll my eyes but glare.
"She has a name!" I growl out still glaring.
"Yes I am sorry, Is CJ fixed Carlisle?" Aro asks.
"NO, IM NOT FIXED. YOU CANT FIX ME STRAIGHT AWAY, I HAVE TO HEAL. I AM HUMAN." I yell in an angry tone. Jasper sends of waves of calming through my body and I sigh. I also feel his hand squeeze mine.
"As CJ explained. She needs time to heal. She is human afterall and she doesn't heal as fast as us." dad explains to Aro. I see Aro nodding and then studying me. I watch his eyes drift to where Jasper and I were entwined by hands.
"Well she will be able to rest, and do light duties. CJ you are excused to your room." Aro says dismissing me. I glare and cross my arms carefully, as to not injure my side anymore then it is.
"Im going home, with my father and brother." I say releasing Jaspers hand and moving so I am in between my brother and father. I smirk as Aros eyes go wide as he looks from me, to my brother then to dad and then back to me.
"You're a Cullen?" I smirk at Janes questions.
"Nope, Im a Cullen – Platt." I say. I see dads little smirk from the corner of my eye and Janes angry face as well. Instantly my arms go to my head as Janes power takes control. Wave after wave of violent tremors are sent to my head. I feel the blood falling from my nose as she continues. It felt like forever until all of a sudden it had stopped. I crumble to the ground gasping for breath. The pain had been excruciating and It made my vision blurry. I felt like my brain was being burned alive, like the sun was actually inside my brain melting it.
Looking up from my blurry vision, I gasp at the scene in front of me. Jasper was behind Jane and had a grip on her neck. His arms were placed so that he could rip her head clean off at any moment. I let a small smile appear on my face.
"You let my sister, Carlisle and myself go and I wont snap her head off." Jasper snarls out. I look from Janes frightened face to Aros face.
"Fine, I am warning you though Cullens. One rule is broken and I will not hesitate to wipe you all out." Aro growls out. I can hear the anger in his voice and the anger in his eyes. Jasper slowly moves away from Jane, glaring at her, as he heads over to me. I clasp my hand in his and head out with Dad leading. All I know is, I am finally free.
The next morning, Jasper Dad and I were on a plane heading home. I was excited to be going home to the rest of the family. It felt like years since I had seen them. I had to be careful because of my side but other then that I was happy.
It has been 3 weeks since I had come home from Voltera. When I had arrived home, I was carefully engulfed in hugs from everyone, mom and Edward gave me the longest ones. The three weeks we just bonded. Alot of junkfood, family movie nights, games nights and basically reconnecting.
Finally the day I had been dreading came way to fast, Drews Fate. The courtcase was postponed till I was fit to come in and when I was able to Dad had called the judge and the trial was now put for tomorrow. I was a little scared and a little happy but as always Jasper was there to help me calm down. I don't know what I would do If I didn't have the Cullens as family.
I was back to my normal self. Well as normal as you can get after the life I have led. The scars were still there as a distant memory of my capture and release. Only Jasper, dad and Edward has seen my scars, I couldn't let mom and the others see them because I hated the scars and it would make the others sad and angry especially, mom.
That incident has made the family more close now. I feel more protected then I have in a long time. I am more careful and more alert now then ever before and so are the family.
Waking up to the birds chirping I smile and roll over. Instantly my eyes open and I frown. The light was shining straight through my window and into my face. I hear bell like laughs coming from my door. I look from my window to my door to see my sisters standing there. I roll my eyes.
"You should have seen your face. Its was all crinkled up, so cute little sis." Alice says all cheerful. I sit up and throw my pillow at her. She quickly dodges it and laughs. Alice heads into my closet while Rose comes over to me and pulls the blankets off of my body. I let out a shriek as the cold air hits my warm body.
"Rose. Its cold." I whine trying to grab the blanket back from her. She stands with her arms crossed and left hip jutting out shaking her head.
"Uh uh little sis. You need to shower and change. We have to be at the courthouse today, remember." Rose says to me. I flop back on the bed. Instantly I am being lifted and at an inhuman pace I am placed into the already running shower fully dressed.
"AHHHHHHHH." I scream out as the cold water hits my warm body. I glare at Rose and I can hear Emmett and Jasper laughing their heads off downstairs. Immediately I thought, paybacks a bitch.
"Alright strip off those wet clothes and hand them over. You will shower and be changed ready for Alice and I to do your hair and make up." Rose says to me. I roll my eyes then glare back as Rosalie rolls her eyes and leaves the bathroom.
I change the temperature of the water so Its warm and not freezing. I remove my now soaking wet black and green striped flannelette long pants, the black jumper I had stolen from Edward and my white tank top, from my body and throw them on the bathmat before washing my body and hair. I still wear long clothes cause im not ready to let mom and the others ,that haven't seen my scars, see them.
Turning off the water, I wrap myself in a towel and bath robe before opening the door to the bathroom. Rosalie walks past me and grabs the wet clothes from the mat while I go into my closet where Alice has set out my clothes for the day. Dried and dressed I emerge from the closet in a pair of black dress pants, black flats, white blouse and a black jacket/blazer.
Rose and Alice are waiting for me. I follow Rose and Alice to Emmett and Rosies room. I take a seat and let the girls work their magic.
An torturing hour or so later I was finally ready. I looked in the mirror and couldn't believe that it was me looking back. I looked really good. My hair was curled and sitting half up half down with a white diamond butterfly barrette. I had on light makeup so it looked like I wasn't wearing any at all.
"You look amazing." A pair of familiar hands wrap around my waist and a kiss to my neck startles me. I look into the mirror and stare at the golden eyes of my boyfriend. I turn around in Edwards embrace and smile.
"Thankyou." I say leaning up to kiss him. Warm lips meet stone cold lips. Our mouths move in sync as we put all our passion into the kiss. We only release when I need air. I smile and lean my head on Edwards chest as I regain my breathing.
"Only you could take my breath away." I say earning a small laugh from Edward and a large ground shaking laugh from Emmett. I roll my eyes and peck Edwards lips once more before dragging him down the stairs and into the kitchen. Mom and dad place kisses on my forehead as I sit at the table to eat my fruit salad and yoghurt mix. Edward sits on my right as I eat.
"How are you feeling sweetie?" Mom asks me. I swallow the food in my mouth before responding.
"Im ok, I guess. Little nervous, scared. Bit of everything I guess." I say before taking another spoonful of my breakfast. Mom kisses my temple before doing what she usually does, cleaning.
After eating breakfast everything seemed to go by in a blur. One minute I was putting my dishes in the sink and the next minute I am sitting inside the courtroom hallway waiting to be called in.
"Charlotte Platt?" My name is now forever Platt till I marry Edward. Then I will be a Cullen. A man comes into the hallway calling my name.
"Are you ready baby girl?" Dad asks me. I shrug my shoulders and look from the man who had called my name to dad.
"As ready as Ill ever be." Dad gives me a reassuring smile before clasping my hand in his and leading me over to the man who called my name. Dad and I walk over to the man and he ticks us off the list. I feel dad squeeze my hand in comfort and I send him a smile.
We follow the man in and he leads us to the front of the courtroom, we take a seat at one of the tables in front of the judge. I fidget with the sleeve of my black jacket blazer as I look around and find my family immediately. My eyes lock onto Edward and I smile.
"I love you." He mouths to me. I smile and mouth back the same. I turn around as the doors are opened and my eyes land on Drew.
He is escorted in by a guard and I cant help but smile that finally someone had justice. I mean out of all the creeps who have hurt me, I was finally able to see one of them caught. I had no idea what happened to Lucas, one thing for sure its that I wont see that sick freak ever again, if Edward and my brothers dealt with him.
I see his eyes as they catch mine. We hold gazes, neither of us backing down, Im not going to show my fear. I feel a hand on my arm and I release Drews gaze and cast my attention to dad.
"You ok?" I nod. He kisses my forehead.
"All rise for the honourable Judge Damien Lawson." A man says. We all stand as the judge enters the courtroom and takes a seat at the table.
"You may be seated." Judge Lawson says. We all take our seat.
I zone out trying to regain my courage I had before. Im not going to show that I am weak. I come out of my thoughts when I see Rosalie on the stand.
"Raise your right hand and place your left hand on the bible." A man says to Rose. She follows the instructions carefully.
"Do you Rosalie Lilian Hale swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?" The man says.
"I do." Rose responds. I smile at my sister as she sits there on the stand.
I watch as Drews Lawyer goes to the stand and faces Rose, ready to ask her questions.
"Now Miss Hale, Is it correct that you are the adopted sister of Miss Platt?" Drews lawyer, Mr Harrison asks.
"Yes, sir." Rose gives a simple answer.
"All of 6 of you are adopted am I correct?" Mr Harrison asks.
"Only 5 of us are. Alice, Edward, Emmett, Jasper and myself are. Charlotte is Esmes biological daughter."Rose states.
"When you were at the party where the incident happened, did you notice your sister drinking alcohol?" Mr Harrison says.
I zone out. I didn't want to hear anything. I wanted to be out of here and back in my bed, asleep. I wanted o be wrapped around my boyfriend as I slept soundly. I wanted a hug with mom as we watched tv. I wanted anything other then being here.
I feel myself being nudged and I look over to dad.
"You're up baby girl." I nod and walk up to the stand.
"Raise your right hand and place your left hand on the bible." A guard says to Me. I follow the instructions carefully.
"Do you Charlotte Ryan Platt swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?" The man says.
"I do." I responds. My eyes remain on my mother, boyfriend and family.
I watch dad as he walks up to me smiling.
"Miss Platt, am I correct that you go to school with Drew Dawson?" Dad asks me.
"Yes, I do go to school with him." I reply.
"Is it true that Mr Dawson is in every class with you?"
"Yes."
"Now Miss Platt, in your own words can you tell the court what happened that night." Dad asks me. I nod.
"Well I was invited by Drew and I showed up with Rosalie and Alice. My sisters decided to go do some dancing while I chatted with Drew. He took me to the kitchen and handed me something to drink. We talked and then Alice and Rose dragged me away to dance. I danced with my sisters and every so often a drink was placed in my hand. I felt a little light headed and so I headed up to the bathroom to freshen up. I was freshening up when a knock sounded at the door. I told them I would be out in a moment but they knocked again but walked in straight after. I noticed it was Drew he..."
After a very long and gruelling trial, witness after witness, it was almost over.
The Judge had let the Jury go to the back room to reach a verdict. I sat patiently next to Dad. I just wanted Mom and Edward and the family. I wanted to be at home watching movies and eating junkfood till I past out from exhaustion. Might do that tonight. I look at Alice and she nods. I watch as Alice turns to mom and begins to chat. Mom looks at me and nods. I smile.
"I hear you are going to watch movie after movie and eat junkfood till you pass out from exhaustion?" Dad says looking at me. I smile and nod.
"Im not to pleased about that, but if thats what you want, you can do it. Its your day today baby girl." I nod and lean against my dad as we waited but internally grimace at the baby girl part of the talk.
There was quiet chatter amongst the courtroom as we waited patiently. I watch as One by one the jury members filled their seats.
"All Rise for the honourable Judge Damien Lawson." Everyone stood once again as we waited for the Judge to sit. He let us sit and then began to talk.
"Has the jury reached a verdict." The judge asks once he had sat down.
"Yes, your honour we have." A jury women with long bleach blonde hair, green eyes and a slender figure handed over the piece of paper to the guard and then to the Judge where he looked at it.
"On the charge of assault how do you find the defendant?"
"Guilty your honour."
"On the Charge of attempted rape how do you find the defendant?"
"Guilty your honour."
"Drew Dawson. This court finds you guilty of all charges."
"Drew Dawson, you are to be sentenced 18 months imprisonment in juvenile detention and 200 hours community service. Jury dismissed, case closed." The judge bangs his gavel and leaves the courtroom. I smile at dad and he hugs me. I watch as Drew gets pulled up to stand. His eyes lock onto mine.
"THIS WONT BE THE LAST YOU SEE OF ME CJ." Drew says as he is dragged away. His eyes remained on mine until he was out of my sight. I smile the biggest smile I could muster.
"We did it. Hes gone." I smile at dad. Edward comes over to me and lifts me up. I cling onto him for support and hug him with all my strength.
"You're ok baby." Edward whispers to me. He places me onto the ground and places a hand on my back. I hug each member of my family.
"Alright lets go home. The sofa, TV and junk food are calling my name." I say smiling. This causes my whole family to laugh. I roll my eyes as I follow my family out of the courthouse. My left hand entwined with my boyfriends and my right hand holding my mothers.
I slide into the back seat of Edwards Volvo with Edward beside me while mom hops into the passenger seat and dad drives. Emmett, Jasper, Rose and Alice are in the Jeep.
I lean my head on Edwards shoulder as dad pulls out of the parking lot. I was very excited. Junk food and relaxation with my family and boyfriend what more could a girl want.
