Saturday finally arrived as the past two days felt like eternity. Dez arrived at the library early, still tweaking all the ideas he came up with in fixing the situation. He was so into his thoughts he didn't hear people approaching. "Hey Dez", Milton said softly.
"Ah", he screamed grabbing his chest.
"Sorry", Cassidy joined in.
"It's fine. Why are you two here so early?" Dez asked curiously after he calmed down.
"Um, it's like 9:45", Milton pointed out.
"Oh really?" Dez said looking at his watch, not believing that it was that time already. "Huh", said to himself and then smiled at the two who are looking at him weirdly.
"You okay Dez?" Milton asked.
"Yeah, I am fine. I was just working on some ideas and time have gotten by me", he replied, shrugging his shoulders.
"Oh–" Milton started but got cut by another voice.
"Who comes back here?" Trish asked, rounding the corner with Jerry right behind her.
"Nobody, that's why it's the perfect meeting spot", Jerry told her. "Hey guys", he finished, giving everyone a head nod.
"Hey", everyone chorused in.
"So, is this it?" Milton asked looking around.
"No, we are waiting for one more person", Dez answer.
Everyone was chatting amongst themselves for a few minutes until Grace came running around the corner. "Sorry I'm late", she panicked.
"Don't worry. We haven't started yet", Dez said as she sighed in relief. "Okay, now that everyone is here Milton, I would like you to meet Grace and Trish; I will like you to meet Cassidy. They have been helping Jerry and I find out who was behind the situation", he added, signaling to the two.
"Hello, nice to meet you", "Hey", Milton and Trish said at the same time as Grace and Cassidy waved and smiled back.
"Okay, so over the past two months, we have been trying to find the person behind this crazy situation and just the other day, my bro did just that", Jerry took over as Milton and Trish's eyes widen in shock.
"Oh my God. Seriously?" Trish asked in disbelief.
"Yep", Dez replied.
"Who is it?" Milton shouted exactly.
Dez grabbed their shoulders, bringing them closer and whispered, "..."
"What?" "No!" Milton and Trish yelled at the same time.
"I know right. So now, since we have that information, we need to work on step two and that my friends is getting Kim, Austin, Ally and Jack back to being friends and civil", Dez said in a seriously tone.
"Okay, how do you suppose we do that because if you haven't noticed, they are avoiding each other like the plague", Trish replied bluntly.
"We know; and that is why you trick them", Jerry stated.
"Okay", Trish said shrugging her shoulder and looking at Milton who nodded in agreement.
"Great! If you need help we are all here", Dez added happily as the others smiled.
"Thanks but I think we got this", Milton responded.
"Whatever you say. Are we done now?" Jerry inquired, sitting on top of the table.
"Um, I guess we can be", Dez replied, not able to think of anything else.
"Okay, great. See ya", Jerry cheered hopping off the table with Grace and Cassidy right behind him.
"Bye", Dez sighed, rolling his eyes as the three left. "Okay, so once Kim and Jack are back on board let me know", Dez finished, grabbing his things.
"Yeah, we will", Milton concluded as Trish nodded an agreement.
"Awesome. Bye guys", Dez said walking away.
"So I was thinking of meeting at Mini Phil's during the week", Milton suggested when it was just the two of them.
"Yeah, that sounds good. Why don't we do Tuesday? I know that the three of us are free", Trish replied.
"Yeah I think that could work. Let's say four?" Milton asked.
"Yep, cool. See you Monday", Trish finished as they turned to leave.
"Bye", Milton said then stopped.
Trish noticed Milton wasn't behind her anymore and turned around confused. "We can't go out together", he whispered.
"Oh, yeah. Ok, see ya", Trish continued, speed walking out of the library.
Milton waited five minutes before leaving, having a good feeling about this.
The weekend went by fast as Monday was here once again. Milton and Trish took off to their perspective people, hoping they would agree to their plans. "Hey Kim", Milton said cheerfully.
"Hey Milton, how are you?" she asked.
"I am good, looking forward to the winter break", he replied, giving a light chuckle.
"I know, me too" Kim added as she was searching through her locker.
"So listen, I was thinking we can hang out tomorrow after school?" he asked after a second of silence.
"Um, yeah. That sounds great. I have to turn in some paperwork to the tutoring office after school but I am free after that", Kim answered.
"Great, and Jack can join us too if he wants", Milton said as the bell rang.
Throughout the day Trish and Ally talked about meeting up tomorrow like the good old days. Ally was glad that even through all this Trish really was the best best friend she could have ever asked for.
Finally the day arrived as Milton and Trish were not only happy and excited, they were nervous about having the four together in the same room after not talking for months and the one thing they all knew was that it was going to be very, very interesting.
Trish, Ally and Austin made their way to Mini Phil's right after class with Jack, Kim and Milton leaving twenty minutes later.
It was now 4 o'clock and Trish, Ally and Austin had just gotten seated in the back with their backs facing the doors. Seconds later Milton sped walked into the restaurant and whispered something to the hostess who quickly nodded and led the three in the same direction.
They made their way to the table, talking about their day as they slid into the booth not even noticing the other people across the table until they were seated and situated.
With Trish and Milton blocking the ends, there was no way any of them were leaving, which was unfortunate as evil glares were thrown their way. The six sat in silence for a few minutes until
Ally broke by saying, "Um, hey Milton" and looking at the two who had unpleasant expressions on their faces.
"Hello Ally", Milton replied giving her smile. "Trish, Austin".
"Hey Milton", Trish started and then paused for a second before adding, "Kim, Jack", and smiled to them.
"Trish", Jack returned, showing no emotion.
"Hi Trish", Kim whispered.
Everyone looked at Austin as Ally elbowed him in the side. "Milton", he said as silence took over the group again.
"What are you doing here?" Austin asked Kim breaking the silence a minute later.
"What does it look like? Probably the same reason you are here", Kim hissed.
"No, Trish wanted to hang out with Ally and I", Austin replied.
"Yeah, and we are hanging out with Milton you idiot", Kim shot back.
Austin rolled his eyes as Milton and Trish looked at one another and knew they should probably get started on the real reason why everyone was here. Milton cleared his throat and said, "We did want to hang out but there is actually another reason why we're all here".
Everyone looked confused as Trish added, "We wanted you all to talk and work things out because-"
"No, not gonna to happen", Austin cut her off.
"Yeah, thanks for trying but it's not going to work", Kim quickly added, pushing Milton out of the booth.
Jack was right behind Kim as Austin was arguing with Ally about leaving when Milton and Trish shared a quick look and nod with Trish quickly yelling, "It was all a set up and we know who did it".
Immediately everyone froze not believing what they just heard. "Kim, please sit back down and let us explain", Milton pleaded.
Kim looked at Milton then to Jack then Trish and then back to Jack who gave her the 'it's up to you' look. Kim thought for a second before finally turning around and headed back to the booth. Milton sighed in relief and whispered, "thank you", which Kim returned with a nod.
"So you say it was all a set up?" Ally asked Trish.
"Yeah, apparently their goal was to take you down from being 'Queen Bee'", she replied.
"Why would anyone want to do that?" Kim asked confused.
"Its high school Kim. Every person dreams of being 'Top Dog' or 'Queen Bee'. It not only makes you super popular but you get the power to rule the school", Milton joined in.
The four took everything in as their minds were spinning. After a few seconds Jack asked, "Well if that were the case, why target Kim?"
"They targeted Kim because one; she is dating you and that power may be shared between the two of them and secondly since her and Ally are, er, well were friends, it would hurt more getting taken down by one", Milton answered seriously.
"Oh", Jack and Kim replied, not knowing what else to say.
"So now that that's all out in the open, the two of us need the four of you to work out all your drama so we can take them down", Milton started
The four all looked at one another as Trish saw that it would probably take a while so she added, "Ok, so I can tell that you four won't resolve this right now but can you all please be civil to each other so we can work together as a team?"
"Yeah we can do that", Ally quickly replied eyeing the other three.
"Yep, don't worry Trish", Kim added as she and Ally shared a small smile.
"We got this", Jack continued, giving Trish a nod.
Ally looked at Austin, raised an eyebrow as he sighed and finished, "They are so going down".
"Yes! Thank you so much", Milton cheered, feeling relieved.
"Wait, before we start this I just wanted to say that Kim, I am sorry for everything and I hope we can work through this because I missed you", Ally said softly.
Kim smiled and replied, "I am sorry too, so much and I wouldn't want anything more than to be friends with you again because I missed you too".
The girls had grins on their faces as Trish yelled, "Yay, finally. One duo fix, three to go. I couldn't be happier and I missed you too Kim".
"I missed you too Trish", Kim responded as the smile never left her face.
"Ok, now that some things are slightly better, let's get this party started", Milton shouted, clapping his hands together.
"Um, hate to break it to ya but this isn't a party", Austin countered.
"Way to be a buzz kill", Milton whined.
"Speak for yourself because the way we are doing it it's going to be pretty damn fun", Trish shot back as Austin raised his arms in defeat.
"Wow, you really thought this through, huh?" Ally asked Trish.
"No, not necessarily but the idea I have is going be the best one yet!" she replied with a wicked smile.
"And the main reason we are here is to tell you who was behind this whole ordeal so let's start with that", Milton started, looking at Trish who nodded for him to continue. Milton took a deep breath and said, "The person or people I should say are Kira and Grey".
Four pairs of eyes widen in disbelief as "WHAT?!" came out of their mouths in different tones from shock to amazement to confusion to downright anger. 'Oh it is so on'! They all thought as the planning begun.
