Hello again everyone. As I mentioned last chapter, the first future Pokémon Ash will have has been decided due to votes and personal messages. Not fully decided yet what else I will throw in but if you want a say keep those votes coming and those messages to give your say to me. I will be honest people have voted but I have had a lot of messages about this including legendary Pokémon…Now I will add that Legendary Pokémon are exempt from the votes as I have already deduced that for the story.
Don't forget Team Rocket captured seven that are under their control if you look back a couple of chapters but I will honestly say none of them will be joining Ash's team. Read those words carefully as they will be put to the test soon and you will understand soon.
Chapter 35: Occupation
It had turned dark in the inner parts of the Kanto region. Within the walls of Saffron city, one of the main and biggest cities of Kanto which also houses the Silph Company which works on many technologies for Pokémon and human has gone silent ever since it's confirmed seizure by the Team Rocket organisation.
The crime syndicate organisation took the city with an overwhelming force where the police force and trainers in the city couldn't stand up against the surprise attack and all citizens had been forced out of the city from their homes. It all came down to the question of what the powerful Team was planning for the city of Saffron.
The streets that would usually have citizens walking around them had grunts of Team rocket instead. Some patrols were moving around the city ensuring they have fully secured the city. The walls around the main parts of the city have already been fortified to withstand small attacks. And Team rocket brought in their technology pieces which allows them to construct temporary bases in mere moments to construct gates around the entrances and small emplacements for watches on the walls also were placed.
Within the city an Ace member and two grunts were walking down one of the streets. The Ace was Domino, one of the top ace members of the organisation. As she was walking forward she spoke "Is the perimeter line finished yet, we are collecting what we want from Silph Company building?" The grunt on the right behind spoke up "We are just finishing with a few calibrations but we will be finished in moments".
Domino nodded and turned to him "Good, Giovanni is planning to turn this into a base of operations which will bring attention away from our hidden bases also, so make sure all preparations are complete" They arrived to a tall building which was assumed to be the Silph company building.
"I will return outside soon, until then finish preparations, Doctor Zager should be issuing our next move here once we have learned more from the tech this building is providing us" The second grunt stood in an alert position "Do we know what kind of technology we will acquire from here, ma'am?" The only reaction Domino gave was a smile and looked to the building "I don't know yet but Giovanni and Doctor Zager believe it is valuable to us so I am going to find out now. Dismissed". She turned and walked into the building through the door as the two grunts walked away.
Just outside the city limit however concealed in the trees was three figures just looking on top of the tree's in the cover of the leaves. Staring through a pair of small binoculars Ash was watching along with Pikachu and Latias beside him. He moved the binocular's away from his face and said "Domino is here too, so whatever is going on here must be serious".
Pikachu looked to the walls of the city to see the fortifications along with grunts walking across it as they observed the area outside the city wall's "They have turned this place into a fortress, no one will be getting in on foot and they can be alerted to anything coming in the air. Getting in or out will be hard without being noticed" Ash rubbed his chin a little to this "This will be very tough but I need to know why Team rocket have gone to such lengths like this. This must be a plan behind all of this and they kicked all the people out"
Latias leaned forward a little "All the people must be in the forest taking shelter from them. It doesn't appear Team Rocket kept any here as hostages". Ash narrowed his eyes a little to the thought of that "Well there is only one way to find out. We are going to need to get in there to find out what they are up to. But this is I'm afraid too much for us to handle by ourselves for now. So for now we will sneak in and find some information"
The young champion turned his head to the eon Pokémon behind him "Latias, can you go find where all the people of Saffron went, they can't be too far away". The eon Pokémon nodded to him and was curious "What are you going to do Ash?" she said to him as the champion looked back through his binoculars "Pikachu and I are going to find a way in there to see if we can find out what Team rocket are up to. Once we come back out we will meet you back here, okay".
Latias placed a claw on his shoulder and calmly spoke "Be careful Ash, It looks dangerous" Ash formed a smile towards her "Hey don't worry Latias, it won't be too hard thanks to my new abilities. We will meet you back here" Latias merely gave a nod before she quickly turned away and flew off to find the people of Saffron.
Ash and Pikachu looked to each other and nodded in unison as Ash snuck his head back in the tree line. Suddenly there was a glimpse of light before Ash morphed into his Latios form and Pikachu jumped onto his back. The dark-blue coloured Latios looked towards his partner and said "You ready"
Pikachu nodded in confidence "Ready, let's do this". Suddenly Ash surged energy and brought went invisible and adjusted his power to where Pikachu could be cloaked on him as well. Ash in his Latios form made his way out of the tree and went flying towards the city. Team Rocket had been known to used detection technology occasionally but Ash could not spot any as he was about to pass over the wall "Team rocket don't waste time do they Pikachu"
He passed over one of the grunts on the wall who seemed to be none the wiser about what was passing over him, Pikachu smiled upon seeing this and whispered "This cloak is amazing Ash, but I think we would face more difficulty if there was a Pokémon there as they are more likely to notice then humans will". Ash nodded but gave his reply via telepathy "Got it, we'll try to avoid using it unless we got no choice like then". They landed down behind the town's Pokémon centre.
Ash smiled to this "They may have set up some control booths in the Pokémon centre, we may have some luck in here, we can't risk the streets as they are being watched and patrolled by grunts and their Pokémon which would probably be able to detect us unless we stand still as cloaked". Ash landed down behind the main centre and looked around first to be sure it was clear. When he was sure it was clear he uncloaked and became visible once more.
He quickly morphed back into human form on the chance he gets discovered. He immediately stood next to the wall and moved slowly towards the first corner. He stood before it and Pikachu moved over him and peeked his head around the corner. After a couple of seconds he nodded to Ash "let's go, no one's there". Ash moved around the corner and saw one of the main street's ahead on the other side of the alley with the Pokémon centre's entrance on other side.
They slowly made their way down with Pikachu moving across over a couple of crates on the alleyway. Pikachu smiled and looked to his partner "We are like detectives now aren't we, like looker from Sinnoh" Ash smirked over the mouse's comment before he spoke too "I wouldn't be surprised if he was here to be honest in one of those disguises of his".
They walked on until Ash begun to hear voices coming from the other side of the alleyway. He quickly indicated to Pikachu who quickly looked alert and ducked a little. Ash moved closer to the wall as two Rocket grunts were spotted moving at the end of the alley way standing at the exit to the street "This invasion was amazing, we really are showing the world we are not to be messed with"
The second grunt spoke up "For now until the Pokémon league decide to intervene" The first grunt merely let out a snicker "What are those pencil pusher's going to do, ask us to get off their lawn?" The second grunt however was more cautious of the situation "Send the Elite four or even the champion and who knows what at us" The first grunt did not seem fazed in the slightest "Those cowards…hah, that Champion is a kid and weak".
The second grunt looked away for a moment "Be careful what you wish for. That's all I will say" The two grunts then moved on down the street heading away. Ash and Pikachu then stood back up with Ash speaking "Come on Pikachu, let's move". The mouse Pokémon went and jumped onto Ash's shoulder as he edged closer to the exit and sounds were becoming more noticeable.
They reached the exit and Ash looked out to the main street to see Rocket grunts all patrolling around along with some of their Pokémon as well. Ash was shocked by this and said quietly to Pikachu "I have never seen a force of Team rocket this big before. I actually miss Jessie, James and Meowth. They were just easy to deal with, but this we won't be able to handle ourselves". He immediately switched sides in a flash of the walls of the alley as a couple of members walked past.
Once the threat had passed the pair looked to see it was clear with no one looking in their direction for the moment "Alright Pikachu let's time it and get in the centre. Hopefully the members were smart to set up a computer in an area that can be valuable to them. The two moved towards a tree in front of the centre with a pool of water around it as a decoration. They spotted two grunts moving past them and stayed still for a small amount of time.
As soon as they were aware of they were clear they moved onto to the centre itself and looked through a window to see two grunts with one about to exit the centre through the main door. "Pikachu get ready". The mouse confidently nodded as they waited for their chance.
The auto-door's slided open and the Rocket grunt walked out of the centre which Ash seized the opportunity to move in through the door without causing a disturbance and went behind a sofa close to the desk where the grunt was currently looking away. He peeked his head up to see how the room was set out before turning to Pikachu right behind him.
"Right Pikachu, I will distract him with something, while his attentions is faltered you sneak around behind him and hit him with thunder wave, that should stun him long enough for us" said Ash via Telepathy which Pikachu nodded. Ash looked around and saw a bottle right on the sofa.
It looked perfect and he carefully tapped the bottle making it fall off the couch and hit the floor. Pikachu already moved to the next sofa away at his first opportunity. The grunt looked to the bottle in a confused manner "What happened there?" Pikachu took the opportunity and sneaked around to the side of the main desk and made his way to the gap allowing people in front and behind the desk. He looked to see the grunt scratching his head looking clueless "Couldn't be the wind…"
Pikachu despite sneaking couldn't help but be amused by the Grunt's lack of thinking. He got close to his leg before he powered up a jolt of electricity and shot it onto the grunt which caused the rocket member to gasp in shock, literally as he his body had an uncontrollable spaz before he fell onto his back. Ash quickly ran over to the desk and jumped over to see the man was actually unconscious.
Ash was confused "Pikachu I said stun him not knock him out, didn't even know electricity could do that, you always wake me up" The mouse Pokémon amusingly gave an answer "The shock of the moment must have been too much for him". Ash was tempted to face palm over the pun his partner made but they didn't have much time. On the desk was a laptop with the labelling purple R on it which Ash smiled "Good I was right, now let's have a look in here"
He sat in the chair and brought the laptop in front of him and begun typing on the keyboard. Luckily it was logged in with the members account so he didn't have to search around. Pikachu was keeping on watch for if any grunts were going to enter the centre. He brought up a folder with a few text folders. They were labelled "Inventory, missions, directories, current orders and base information.
Ash quickly froze up upon seeing the base information and clicked onto it and an information folder came up displaying a lot of text. Ash was reading through it and he smiled "Pikachu, this laptop is a goldmine. It has locations of team rocket bases and their role" He scrolled down and searched up in the search bar 'headquarters' He was hoping this laptop had their location of their base of operations which would provide the chance for Ash and G-men to put an end to Team rocket.
Unfortunately nothing came up which didn't surprise Ash "Of course they wouldn't put information about their main headquarters but this will help. Good thing Albert gave me this". He took out a stick device that looked close to a memory stick and he slotted it into the side of the laptop.
He waited patiently for a moment for the drive to come online and pop up on the screen. Ash wasted little time and begun to run a drive transfer and begun to download all available data to the data drive Ash plugged in. As the download commenced he begun sifting through the missions folder and he saw an audio log. It was labelled 'Saffron, new orders" He was curious and clicked on it. A voice begun playing "All team rocket members, while the science team are collecting and cataloguing all available data and new technology from the Silph Company and exploiting anything useful in the city. Be on guard and fortify our defence. Further orders will follow soon"
Finally discovering the intention of this occupation, Ash looked up to Pikachu "This explains it all, they are stealing everything from the Silph Company building. Who knows what new tech they can add to what they already have. This could spell disaster for us". Pikachu looked to the screen as well and wash intrigued "Wow…Team Rocket are going to lengths here, they are getting new technology and capturing legendary Pokémon…For what?"
Ash became very serious of the situation and his eyes narrowed a little "Their endgame…the final moment which will allow them to complete their goal…World domination" Ash looked to the download of data to see it was almost complete and waited patiently for it to complete. "Right so when this finished we can get out of here and meet back with Latias"
Unknown to them, the grunt which was recently knocked out was beginning to regain consciousness and slowly opened his eyes. He looked to see the champion with his Pikachu on his laptop "Oh crap…The champion is here….I got to alert everyone" He reached for a small watch looking device on his wrist and begun pressing buttons slowly until it clicked.
He now begun shouting "Alert, all Team rocket units. We have a breach". Pikachu and Ash quickly shot towards the grunt in shock "In the Pokémon centre, repeat we have an intruder it's the champion. All units converge". Ash quickly spoke up "Pikachu quickly now". It was all the mouse needed to hear before he leaped onto the grunts arm and shocked him with a thunderbolt.
It was powerful enough to declare him unconscious once more but Ash and Pikachu knew they were too late to stop him. He could already hear shouting and Pokémon being released from Poke ball's outside "That was quick for them to get here". Ash looked to the download which was only at seventy percent completion. "Urgh…We will have to hope this is enough and what we need". He immediately unplugged the device from the laptop and looked forward to see multiple grunts enter with a Weezing, Electrike and Raticate.
"We got you surrounded Champion…surrender" Ash however didn't pay attention and yelled out "Pikachu jump on now". The mouse Pokémon leaped onto Ash's shoulder and just before the grunts could order their Pokémon Ash help his hands together and blue energy begun to pour onto his palms. A sphere came together and all the grunts were cautious.
Ash threw it down below him before it caused a small bang and smoke covered all over. It covered the entire inside of the centre as the grunts were coughing, same with their Pokémon. One of the grunts spoke out between coughs' "Can…anyone see…him" They all responded with 'no' as their only option was to wait for the smoke to clear.
Eventually after a minute the smoke did give way and by the time the Rocket members were able to see they were shocked by what they saw. Ash and Pikachu had vanished from sight before them "Where did they go?" Another grunt was looking around like crazy "I don't know he vanished into thin air". The main grunt immediately begun barking orders "Search the perimeter and update Ace Domino of the situation"
As Team rocket were searching within their area. Just outside the city in a tree suddenly a Pikachu popped up his head and right beside him the head of a dark coloured Latios appeared. Pikachu sighed gently "Thank god you have that move, that was too close for us" Ash gave his agreement to the situation but was disappointed "But now we have lost the element of surprise. They know we will be back"
Pikachu looked down to this as Ash continued "But this information can help and we know why they are there now. So let's find out where the people went. Hopefully…" Just before he could finish a flicker of energy erupted behind Ash as a certain eon Pokémon uncloaked and Ash smiled "Ah perfect timing, I was about to mention you. Have you found them?" Latias nodded her head in confidence "Yes they are not too far from here, they are this way. Did you find anything?"
Ash and Pikachu both smile to her question "Yes we have, we will explain on the way but they know we are here now so we better hurry up and get to the people" Pikachu jumped on Ash's back and they lifted off heading away from the city with Latias taking the lead. Ash looked back to the Saffron city with one thought in his mind "We will be back and you will be kicked out Team rocket" The trio flew on towards the next part of their mission.
And we bring things to another halt. It was difficult putting this together for the end on how Ash would make his escape before I used this for a conclusion. Now the fun begins in the next chapter. Look forward to it. SpixPrime over and out.
