Days passed and Perry never said another word. She barely looked at anyone. Her chirpiness that used to make me smile was long gone. As long as she was silent, so was I. Then I was given more glares from Lump and Mr. Sir. That was pretty usual though. It had finally been a week since my beating and Mom called us to one of his stupid circle things.
We always had to talk about family and feelings. It was awkward most of the time. We all walked to the tent and I kept glancing at Squid. He was giving me pity-filled looks. I shrugged for no apparent reason. When we reached the tent, Mom's bright smile was the first thing we saw. It was sickening. "Hello D-tenters. I'm so happy to have you here today. We have so much to talk about."
He let off an evil smile that turned my whole perspective of the night around. My instincts told me to leave, but there was no way I'd trust those anymore. We sat down in the cheap chairs set in a some-what circle. I sat next to Squid and Perry to keep an eye on both. Who knew what was ahead?
Ok, readers before you go ahead to the next paragraph, I need to tell you that this is the climax, finally! We reached it, together! Anyway, I need you to think back to the reasons why the girls are here because that'll be a key instrument in the next paragraph. And to my review about Radioactive. They can see into the future...LOL! Just kidding..
Perry POV:
This was stupid. I decided not to answer or ask any questions. If I didn't attract attention, I wouldn't get it. Unfortunately, for me, I'd be wrong. Mom sat on the last chair and took a good long look at us. A fat nobody, a lost kid with bad parents, a stereotyped thief, a curious hispanic, a misfit leader, a stalker/Australian/surpriser, a quirky blamed girl, a punk rocker, a crazy freak, and me, the weak insane bitch.
Yes, we were broken and betrayed. But we still had...no we don't have all of each other really. "You kids are hopeless." Mom said. No one protested. We just felt a second of grief. There was nothing anyone could do to hurt us anymore. I wanted so badly to believe we were invincible. We just weren't. We still had more soft spots. "Big fight, huh Ricky?" I glanced at the blond and he didn't look up. I blushed remembering what I'd done. I couldn't believe I wasn't there for him. "Quiet. So that's how you'll be." His eyes darted across the room again. "I'm tired of playing the quiet game with you brats. I got something to get you talking."
In a second's time, Mom left his chair and snatched an armful of files from a cabinet. What? He sat back down and smirked. My mind was pacing and scampering. Files had information. Unfortunately, for me the whole house-burn thing was there. First, he plucked a thin one. "Cameron," She looked scared and confused. "Hmmm...interesting...It seems you have been lying." I crooked an eyebrow. Kitty girl could lie? "How old are you, Cameron?"
She turned pale and bit her lip. "15." She smiled weakly but something was up in the musty air. "Really? Seems not according to your records. You've been lying about your age since you were 6. In fact you should be 18 and in a jail right now." She hitched herself frozen. 18?! She was so short she could pull off an 18 year old. "And you didn't steal a kitten. You stole 6 cars and attacked 3 citizens for no reason." My jaw dropped. There was no way anyone would be able to tell she did that.
"Next crime you'll be in a real jail. Get ready." He threw the file in the middle of our torturous circle. "Cecelia Wilderson," Wilderson, huh? "Act like you're so big and tough." She rolled her eyes and leaned back in her chair. "When really all you did a small crime concerning a car crash and a certain I'm not paying any fines, you can't make me." She muttered curse words. I almost laughed. What happened to the murder-type girl who had impression-ed me. "Just leave it alone." He smirked and threw down mug shots of her. She was holding up the middle finger on both hands and looked very grim. "I hate you." Cece growled. I sighed and shook my head. Liars liars liars.
"Alexis Brights...wow..." I glanced up. The red-head was smiling happily. "You are illegally crossing boarders." She smiled more but I was shocked. Yeah, she was from Australia but I was sure she was at least a United States citizen. But it didn't surprise most people. She was weird enough to cross boarders. I, personally, couldn't take any more of it. "We'll be sending you straight back to Australia when you're time is up." She grumbled and crossed her arms. Mom threw down mug shots of Alexis making funny faces. "Hmm...this one I've waited to get to." I hitched my breath. "Sabrina Deans, nice crime by the way." Sabrina?
AAh! Ok, so Sabrina's confession practiclly changes thins whole story. I've been leading you all up to this. I need at least 1 review to add her confession chapter next. Then it goes onto Perry's confession and the big moment I had feels over. 1 review! Thx for reading!
