Chapter Thirty Four: Test Day

"Hi Raven." Shadow said with displeasure as he looked at his ex girlfriend.

The black cat stood up, her purple eyes only focusing on the ebony hedgehog in front of her. "It's so nice of you to actually show up today." She shifted her gaze to look over at Amy, who was standing next to Shadow. Raven noticed the pink hedgehog was holding her ex's hand, sparking a bit of jealousy for the feline.

"I guess I finally get to meet you little friend here too, huh?"

Amy's face clearly gave away that she was obviously offended by Raven's shady comment, but she quickly gave her best fake smile and greeted the black cat.

"Hi Raven, my name is Amy. It's nice to finally meet you."She looked past Raven and looked into the stroller that was next to the young mother. "And it's nice to meet Sage as well. He's so cute!"

"Well of course he is," Raven responded. "He does look like his father after all." She looked at Shadow intensely, smirking at him, almost flirting with him in front of everyone.

Rouge, clearly annoyed, sighed heavily and rolled her eyes. "Yeah, who ever that is," she mumbled as she casually checked out her nails.

The low jab did not go unheard, seeing as how the black feline whipped her head to the right, looking at the ivory bat up and down with disgust. "Why the hell are you and you're weirdo friend here anyway? This has nothing to do with you bitch."

Sonic put a hand to his chest, acting like he was offended by the rude comment. He noticed that Rouge was visibly getting more upset. He tried to step in between the two women, but Rouge placed a hand on his shoulder, signaling that she had the situation under control. Shadow, Sonic, and Amy watched as Rouge stepped closer to Raven. So close that they were face to face.

"Listen bitch," Rouge said in a low voice. "The moment I knew that you would be here, I came along cause I heard how you are. And I get it. You want to prove a point that Shadow is the father of your baby and rub his face in it. But how about you humble yourself? You haven't even taken the test yet. So as far as we know, this could all be for nothing."

The group stood quiet. Shadow, Amy, and Sonic were impressed with Rouge setting things straight with Raven. Rouge stared at Raven with her arms crossed. Before Raven could say anything back, a nurse opened the door to the waiting room.

"Shadow and Raven?"

With a sigh of relief, Raven turned away from the group. She grabbed the handles of Sage's stroller and started to head towards the door. "Come on Shadow," she spat out loud enough for him to hear her.

Before Shadow could walk behind her, he felt his hand being sqeezed slightly. He looked down at Amy, who was giving him a small smile.

"Everything will be fine," she reassured him. "What ever happens in there, we'll figure it out."

Shadow kissed his girlfriend on her forehead, aqueezing her hand back before letting it go and walking behind Raven inside the testing area.

Sonic, Amy, and Rouge watched as they disappeared behind the door, and turning back around taking a seat next to each other Sonic strected in his seat and yawned as he placed his arms behind his head.

"Well, he's fucked."

Amy snapped her head to the left and stared at the blue hedgehog before her. "Excuse me?"

"From what I'm seeing, she's clearly confident about this. I mean, why else would she come here to take a paternity test?"

Rouge turned her head to the right to face Sonic. "Because the bitch is in denial. Sure, she can be confident about this all she wants, but there's no way she can so confident in herself that it will change the test results."

Amy nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah, her logic is probably, 'I didn't cheat on him enough for the other guy to be the father, so it has to be Shadow'."

"Well," Sonic said with a heavy sigh. "Let's just hope this comes out negative."

Inside one of the patients room sat Raven and Sage. The feline seemed totally relaxed as she look through a magazine as her son babbled to himself as he played with a toy in his stroller. Although she seemed cool, calm, and collected to everybody, she was a bit nervous. She understood that she took a giant risk to fly all the here to do this test. She knew that it could go one of two ways. Shadow could be the father, or someone else could be. But ofcourse, Shadow was her main choice.

Suddenly the door to her room opened and in came a nurse. The nurse, a young looking koala bear, smiled at the feline. "Hi there, my name is Sasha and I'll be doing your paternity test today."

Raven smiled back, glad that someone was being polite to her. The nurse closed the door behind her and started to put her gloves on. "This will be quick and simple," Sasha said. "I'll be collecting salvia and blood samples from your son today."

"Blood and saliva?"

The nurse nodded. "It's always best to have both just to back the results. If the salvia doesn't come back accurate enough, the blood test always will."

"Understood," replied the feline. Raven picked up her son from the stroller and sat in him on her lap. "You can start whenever you're ready, he's not fussy at all when it comes to needles."

Sasha wiped down the area on Sage's arm with alcohol before she collected the blood sample. After placing a bandiad on the spot, she got a long clean cotton swab and collected salvia from the babbling baby. The nurse placed both samples in a plastic bag and sealed it up.

"Quick question before you go," Raven said as she stood up with Sage in her arms. "You already did the test for Shadow, right?"

The nurse nodded her head. "Yes ma'am I did."

"I know this is probably not right of me to ask, but do you think him and my son look alike?" Raven knew she was being really open and vulnerable right now, something she doesn't really do, but she needed to know what someone else who doesn't know the situation would think.

Sasha looked a Sage as she remembered what Shadow looked like. She could tell that this was a sensitive situation. She nodded her head as she looked up at Raven. "I believe he does. I could see facial features from you but a lot from him. I'm sure once your son gets older, more similarities will appear."

The black feline sighed with relief. At least the nurse though they looked alike. Hopefully, the test would come out in her favor.

It was later on in the evening. Amy had invited Shadow over to her mothers house for dinner and to give him a chance to unwind after the stressful day he had. Abbey was serving them dinner, afterwards talking a seat to eat with them.

"So," the older hedgehog started. "how was like to see her again, Shadow?"

The ebony hedgehog exhaled as he dragged his hand down his face. "Well it wasn't fun, I can tell you that."

"It was awkward to say the least," Amy sighed as she poured herself red wine. "It's very clear that she truly believes that Shadow is the father. I mean, you both do look alike, but that doesn't automatically mean that he's your son."

"That test could come out negative and she'll still find a way to say he's mine." He drank the last bit of wine he had before he signaled for Amy to pour him more.

Abbey could tell that Shadow was mentally drained from today. She turned to face her daughter. "When will the results be ready?"

"If not tomorrow then the next day. But we're hoping that we'll find out by tomorrow. The sooner the better."

"Whatever happens, keep things level with her Shadow."

He looked up at Abbey. "What do you mean?"

Abbey reached out and grabbed Shadow's hand. "If the results show that you are the father, do you what you can to help out. It's only right. But if the results show that you aren't the father, still be helpful. After all, there's a baby involved in all this. I know it would be so easy to just forget about them if it's negative, but maybe helping her if this comes out not the way she would want it to might humble her."

"I guess it would be morally right," Amy agreed. "Well she'll be here for a few more days, so I guess we'll just have to see how things will pan out."

Meanwhile...

Inside of a hotel suite, Raven was getting her son ready for bed. Sage had just gotten a bubble bath and was now dressed in a warm onesie. He was fighting sleep as he was cradled in his mothers arms, but soon enough, he peacefully fell asleep. Raven had a crib set up in the living room of the suite so that she could watch tv in the bedroom.

She was still worried about the results of the tests, although she kept high spirits that everything would work out in her favor. She knew what she did for all of this to happen, but she truly believed that she would be right about this. She thought of all the times that she and her special friend had encountered each other, noting that most of the time they used protection. At the same time, her and Shadow used protection as well, just not as much. At least thats what she thinks.

She hasn't seen her special friend in a few weeks. The would usually see each other a few times each month, but the single mother has been quite busy as of late. After making sure that Sage was asleep in his crib, she walked over to the bathroom and took a hot shower. Afterwards, she wrapped her long dark purple hair into a bun, and put on an oversized grey shirt to sleep in.

Just as she was pouring herself a glass of wine in the kitchen, there was a knock at the door. It was about 8pm, and she wasn't expecting anybody at all to even visit her in general. She placed her wine glass done and walked over to door. She looked through the peep hole and was surpised to see who was on the other side. She opened the door with a questionable look on her face.

"Umm hi?"

There stood Sonic. Of course. The blue hedgehog stood there with a handsome smile on his face. "Hey Raven. You know, today was pretty awkward and I'm sur it was really stressful for you, so I thought I'd come by to see how you were doing."

"Oh well, thank you. How did you even know I was staying here?"

"Shadow told me," Sonic simply stated. "He's got the room for you after all. So what you doing tonight?"

Raven extended her arm to show inside the suite. "I'll be drinking wine while watching some tv actually."

Sonic nodded his head. "Well I was gonna ask if you wanted to grab a few drinks but I can see you look pretty comfy in here."

The black feline quickly checked out Sonic from head to toe. She can't deny that he was really attractive. Tall, green eyes, cute face, and visibly built. Right up her ally. "Well you could come in for a bit," she offered. "I have some drinks here so you can save your money."

Sonic smiled and nodded his head. "Sounds fun to me."

The walked inside the suite. Raven lead Sonic inside her room so that Sage could sleep peacefully in the living room. Inside the room, Raven and Sonic sat on the bed with glasses filled with red wine in their hands. The conversations varied, from talking about random things, to their personal life, and relationships.

"So your telling," a tipsy Raven started. "You walked in on your fiancé having sex with her friend and her husband?"

Sonic hummed as he drank more wine. "Mmhmm. Looking back, it was pretty dramatic how everything happened. I mean, that's like something that would happen in a movie, you know?"

"You're right about that," the feline agreed. Raven undid her bun, letting her long dark hair fall down her back. She combed her fingers through her hair and took a sip of her wine. "Have you seen her since?"

"Nope." He replied. "I don't really plan on it but if it happens then I guess I can try and be nice to her."

"Well I bet she's missing out," Raven said as she made eye contact with the hedgehog. "You're really good looking and have a great a personality, hard to believe that she would do that to you."

Sonic caught on to her flirting with him and smirked. He leaned back on to the head board of the bed with his arms behind his head. "Well thank you. At least someone thinks so."

Seeing that Sonic was going along with her flirtation, she placed her empty glass down on the floor. She then seductively crawled over to Sonic and cradled him, making sure she kept eye contact with him the whole time. Sonic placed his hands on her shapely hips, squeezing them, earning a small moan from the feline.

"Of course I think so." She placed her hands on his strong shoulders and smirked. "I bet you haven't been with anybody since you two broke up, huh?" It was a bold statement, but she knew what she was doing.

"You're right," Sonic said. "It has been a lonely few weeks."

Without saying a word, Raven reached for the bottom of her oversized shirt. She swiftly took it off, revealing her hourglass figure. Her large breast was on display and she wore a thing white g-string. Her long fluffy tailed swayed side to side as she placed a hand on Sonic's shocked face. She slowly bent down a gave the hedgehog a passionate kiss, biting his lip in the process.

Raven slowly pulled away and whispered in Sonic's ear. "Show me a good time then."

Before she knew it, Raven was flipped onto her back as Sonic looked down at her, a devilish smirk on his face. "Try not to scream."

Dear diary,

So today Raven and Shadow did the paternity test. Now's the worst part, the longggg wait for the results. I could only hope that things end well, whether he's the father or not. My mom told him to try and keeps things nice with Raven, although it would be much easier to just get away from her. Shadow and I had several talks about this whole thing, regardless we'll betogether. That's all that matters.

Let's see what will happen from here.

Sincerely,

Amy
