Marionette sat in his box.

He wanted so desperately to hear his beloved music box.

All he wanted to do was sleep...

Sleep through this nightmare.

He always had trouble getting to sleep without his music box...

But he knew that it was him who had destroyed it...

Or...Whoever was controlling him.

After a while, he fell asleep.

He saw himself as a child.

His red hair was blowing in the breeze and he was running around in a meadow.

Rain was pouring down on him and soaking him from head to toe.

He jumped into a puddle of water and mud splattered all over him.

"Henakq!" A voice called out. He knew that it was his name being said... Although he couldn't make out the garbled noise.

"Henajq what are you doing?!" His mother ran up to him in the storm.

"Playing mama." He cheerfully replied.

"Come on now, it's getting worse." She said grabbing his hand. "I told you to stay where I could see you." She scolded him.

"I..I'm sorry mama..." He stuttered as they walked into their house.

"Oh, what am I going to do with you?" She smiled and hugged him.

"One day your going to get yourself hurt if you wonder off like that." She sighed and took off his muddy rain boots.

"I'm sorry mama. I really am..." He lowered his head with tears in his eyes.

"I know baby. It's okay. Just don't wander out of my sight again. Promise?"

He nodded and his mother wiped away the tears that were forming in his eyes.

"Come now. Let's get you washed up." She smiled as she hung up his rain coat and walked up the stairs with him.

They walked into the bathroom and his mother turned the bathtub on.

"I'll be right back. Now you stay here. Okay?" She smiled.

"Okay mama." He giggled back.

His mother walked out of the room and pulled the door almost all the way shut.

He heard the shuffling of his mothers footsteps going down the stairs.

He stepped up onto a little brown footstool that sat in front of the sink.

Turning to the mirror, he looked at himself in the face. The mirror was fogged up though and he couldn't see a thing.

He wiped the steam away to see that he was the puppet...

Gasping he fell backwards off of his footstool and fell onto the floor. His vision went blurry.

He turned and heard footsteps coming up the stairs quickly.

"Mama?" He softly asked gaining his vision back.

The door slowly opened up creaking.

He saw someone step in... Someone who wasn't his mother.

Gaining back all of his vision he blinked a couple of times and saw him...

He saw The Purple Man in front of him holding a knife.

"NO! GET AWAY FROM ME!" He screamed as The Purple Man walked towards him.

He stood up and took a couple of steps backwards and fell into the now full tub.

When he came up gasping for breath he was met by the cold blade of the killer.

The Marionette woke up panicked.

"It was just a dream... It was just..." He sighed and buried his face in his hands.

"Mama..." He whimpered.
