Chapter 36—Leo

"LEO SHANE!" I screamed when he could hear me. He turned in my direction, but just scowled and turned back.

I growled in my anger and launched Speedy into a trick shot that took down almost a dozen ghouls that were launched at us as I raced up to Leo.

"Are you. A complete. IDIOT?!" I screamed at him as I punched down a Grimmstone.

"Ah, now both Shanes have found me," Leon Blakk commented from atop the wall surrounding his fortress. "I didn't even have to do the work this time," he added, loading a Gatler with only Goon Docs.

"Great, now look at what you've gotten us into," I snapped at Leo as I loaded Save and Burpy into my fusion blaster and Brisingr into my main blaster, managing to hold them all. "This is gonna take some precision," I grumbled as I took aim.

"Not unless I help," Leo said, grabbing my blaster and helping me take aim.

"If we had another Pulter somehow, we could double the affect, but this'll have to do," I said as Leo also loaded Medic in his blaster.

"Do you really think you could pull off a quadruple fusion shot?" Blakk sneered as he took careful aim at us.

"Yep," Leo and I both said at the same time, perfectly in sync. We fired the blasters and Save and Burpy combined as well as Brisingr and Medic, forming the Pulter/Infurnus fusion, as well as the Boon Doc/Infurnus fusion. The second fusion looked like a pale green Infurnus, and instead of trailing flames there was a trail of light behind them. Those fusion slugs then began spinning around each other, creating a bright flash of light and another fusion.

"Wow, a quadruple fusion shot," I whispered when I saw it. It still had the shape of a Infurnus, but was black and pale green with a trail of flames, light, and green light behind it. The slug soared around the wall, roaring out with a pale green fire that healed the ghouls. After that they used the Pulter/Infurnus fusion attack, covering the wall in green flames before they returned to us and returned first to original fusions, then to their original forms.

"That. Was. AWESOME!" both Leo and I said at the same time. We didn't see Blakk on top of the wall, and I used the chance to punch Leo squarely in the face. It wasn't enough to break any bones, but he'd have a reason to wear that eye patch for a while.

"WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT FOR?!" he demanded, holding a hand to his glowing eye, which already had a faint bruise forming around it.

"That was for running off and letting your anger get the best of you," I told him. "If you do it again, you'll wish I'd punch you in the eye when I finish with you," I added threateningly.

"Yeah, yeah," he commented. He looked at me and nodded, though, so I held out Save in my hands. He scooped up the slug. "I'm sorry about leaving you behind," he told Save. "I let my anger get the better of me, but I promise to never leave you behind again."

Save slowly nodded and hopped onto Leo's shoulder.

"Now, we need to get back to the University before anybody realizes what we did," I told them, jumping back on Stryder as he got on Walker.

"I think that's a bit too late now," a voice behind us commented.

"Dang it," I muttered. "At least it wasn't Mom," I added as we turned around and saw Elina riding up to us on Luna.

"Nope, but you two should be praying that I don't tell Karina what you two did," she told us as Blaze repeated the same thing to our slugs, except Blaze threatened to tell Saphira.

"Um, will you tell her?" I asked her nervously.

She giggled. "That depends, why did you two come here?" she asked us. Leo whistled nervously.

"Leo lost his temper when he discovered that Blakk broke out of prison with the help of the Darkbane," I explained.

Elina narrowed her eyes at him then turned to me. "Why did you come, then?" she asked me.

"Save told me what he did, so I came to stop Leo before he did anything he would regret, like getting killed," I told her. "We had to take down Blakk, though, because he loaded a Gatler with Goon Docs."

"Goon Docs?" she whispered. "How did he get so many?" she asked herself before turned back to me. "I won't tell Karina what happened," she told us. "I'm going to go to Mole Mound Cavern and find Pronto so that the two of us can go to Bonnie Springs to investigate what happened to all the Boon Docs," she added.

"While you're there, could you take care of these guys?" I asked her, gesturing to the Goon Docs that we healed. They escaped the Gatler and were hopping around us out of gratitude.

"Sure," she replied with a light laugh at their happiness. "Come on, guys!" she told the slugs. They turned toward her and nodded, hopping onto Luna and covering almost every possible surface as they held on. "Well, I'll be seeing you guys later, then," she said to us. She smiled at the slugs as she rode away. The slugs all turned and waved to us as they left.

"We should get going as well," I said, pulling out my Shadow Walker as Leo did the same. We activated them and teleported ourselves back to Shane Hall.

"Where'd you guys disappear to?" Emma asked us.

"Leo just needed some fresh air to calm down and I left to check up on him," I lied. She hesitated, but nodded as we got off.

"So, are you ready to go to the Hideout?" Mom asked Leo as she walked up to us.

Leo shook his head. "Actually, I think I'll stay here. I've calmed down now," he told her. Her eyebrows rose in disbelief until they almost disappeared beneath her hair, but she nodded in acceptance.

"Alright, but don't kill each other," she told us. "I need to go home to work on grading papers, will you be alright?"

"Yeah, we'll be fine," I assured her. She nodded and rode away.

After that we got off our Mechas and walked into Shane Hall, where we discovered that Shane Hall is hosting their annual Slug Hunt over the next weekend.

"Hey, guys!" the Resident Advisor, or RA, of our wing said when he saw us. This year we have a Molenoid as our RA, and his name is Nathan. "Will the five of you be participating in the slug hunt?" he asked us.

"Sure," we all replied. He nodded and wrote a few things down on a clipboard before walking away.

"I wonder what slugs we'll find this year," Mark commented as we walked to our rooms.

"No idea, hopefully we can add some new members to our teams," I replied. They nodded and we walked into our rooms.

Over the rest of the week not much happened. We went through classes as usual, and had a couple quizzes and tests. With Mark's help, I excelled in my Slugology courses, and in return for his help I helped him with his slinging.

By the time we reached the weekend, we were practically frantic in our urge to go. We all enjoy slug hunts as it offers us a chance to get away from the University and to add new slugs to our arsenals, even though we had plenty as it was. You can never have too many slugs.

A/N: Thanks everyone for the reviews so far! I'm sorry it took so long for me to update, I had a bout of the infamous Writer's Block. I'm still gonna be updating infrequently due to the start of school, sorry guys and girls. I also have a story on deviantART only. I go by the same username, and chances are that you'll never find it on FF net. Use the following link to get to the first chapter: art/SlugTerra-University-AU-Chapter-1-466936260
