"Don't touch her." I heard someone snarl. "Let me do it. Please!" The person growled, the voice was familiar, as I began to wake it became clear it was Ron.

"Fine, hurry the fuck up Ginger, the rest of you be quiet!" A man growled. I felt myself being lifted but didn't have the energy to move, it was impossible to even open my eyes right now, I fell back into a slumber.

The second time I woke I was still being carried, it could have been seconds or it could have been hours that I was unconscious but I was still in Ron's arms so I knew I was okay. I was more awake this time.

"Ron." I tried to say.

"Mione stay quiet, I've got you it's okay." Ron mumbled. Suddenly we both jolted and Ron cried out in pain, they must have hit him.

"I said quiet. All of you, get down there, we will deal with you later." Ron started walked down some stairs, I still couldn't open my eyes or move at all. I felt myself falling lower, Ron must be sitting down. I fought with my eyes until they opened slightly.

"Ron."

"Mione, don't move, your hurt okay, stay still."

"What do you mean, I'm fine." I said trying to get up only to feel a sharp pain down the right side of my body, I crumpled back down in pain and cried out.

"You have been cut down your right side. Stay still, keep pressure on it." He said pressing one of his own hands against my side, it hurt but I knew it was for the best.

"What happened?"

"We were ambushed, we took down a few but more and more kept coming. I don't know why they didn't kill us but instead have brought us down here." Harry said.

"Yes, extremely foolish of them, I have nearly 100 back up aurors from around the country and even from France waiting on call. We will get out of here fine." Kingsley smiled slightly, everyone felt relieved but Ron remained unchanged.

"How long until we get out? Hermione is losing a lot of blood. Damn so is everyone, we won't last long Kingsley." Ron said worryingly, I looked around to the other aurors, many in a similar state to me.

"Don't worry Ron, I have faith. They should be here shortly."

"And if not?" Leighton cried.

"Then we fight it out." Kingsley said simply.

"Mione you still got your ring on?" Ron asked me.

"Which one?" I mumbled sleepily. I should have both my promise ring and engagement rings still intact but I wasn't sure.

"Both, either?" Ron asked.

"Can you check, I can't move." I asked helplessly. He lifted one hand that wasn't putting pressure against and grabbed my left hand to feel around for the ring. He sighed in relief, I knew it must be there even though my hand was numb and I couldn't feel it. He then reached for my neck to find the chain and must have found my promise ring.

"Mate why did you check her hand?" Harry asked quietly from next to us.

"Long story mate." Ron replied.

"Because we are engaged." I said quietly to Harry, I don't know what had happened to me, I felt drunk, I wasn't in control of myself right now.

"What?" Harry exclaimed.

"Can we talk about this another time? I'm seriously worried here." Ron said.

"Yeah sure, congrats though." Harry smiled. I beamed back at him, Ron offered a small smile but was lost in thought.

"Why did you want my ring?"

"Don't get mad but I had a tracking spell put on each of them when I bought them. Your location shows up on a map that I have, it's a bit like the marauders map."

"Great, how is that going to help?" Harry said.

"George asked for a copy of the map, he wanted to know that if I wasn't there to help her for any reason then he could, he has a tracker on Ginny too and mum." I smiled at this, George thought of me as a little sister, it was nice to feel so protected.

"Right so you think George is just going to sit by this map?"

"No but once we don't arrive back at the ministry when we should then there's going to be a signal that we are missing, the other aurors will probably get here faster but this way George can still track Hermione and find us if it comes down to it."

"So we have a plan B, you are amazing Ron, honestly you are brilliant, I love you so much. You are so handsome" I rambled, at this point I felt so light headed and dizzy. I wonder if someone hit me with a drunk spell, I had only ever felt this way when I had drank too much.

"Okay, what's going on with her?" Harry laughed slightly.

"Hermione, you okay?"

"Not really, I'm drunk." Harry laughed again slightly but Ron looked concerned.

"What do you mean sweetie?"

"I'm drunk, I'm dizzy, there's two of you. Actually I am really tired and cold." I said honestly although I didn't feel conscious at this point, I felt as though I was dreaming.

"This is so not good, this can't be happening, we need to get her out of here!" Ron cried. "We need to stop this bleeding, now. Harry hold her up." I felt Ron move his arms away from me and he leant back slightly to lift his top over his head.

He ripped the bottom off with his hands so it was now one long strip in his hands. He looked pained as he spoke.

"Lift her shirt Harry." Harry rolled my shirt up slightly, I cringed in pain. "Gently!" Ron growled. Harry lifted my shirt until it was just under my bra, I could now see the deep cut down my side. Ron ripped off the sleeve of his shirt and folded it a few times so it was now a thick square, he placed it over my cut and then wrapped the long strip all the way around my body quite tightly. He ripped another strip from the bottom of his top again and wrapped this round me. He did this until he had no top left and my wound was now wrapped tight in a make shift bandage. He pulled my shirt back down slowly and then pulled me back again so I was once again resting on his chest.

"Maybe I should get hurt more often." I said whilst running my fingers over his chest, he shivered.

"Not funny Hermione."

"I'm tired Ron, can you wake me when they get here?"

"I don't know if you should sleep baby, I'm scared."

"Let her sleep, she can't get worse." Harry said softly before moving away to sit with Kingsley again leaving Ron and I alone.

"Okay, go to sleep."

"Ron?"

"Yeah?"

"Kiss me?" I looked up at him, his eyes softened and he smiled slightly before connecting our lips softly, we let them linger for a few seconds then he pulled away.

"Sleep now, kiss later." I snuggled back into his chest and he kissed my head. I fell asleep quickly.

I was woken up to loud cracking noises, I jumped up slightly.

"It's okay, it's the aurors, someone is going to take you to the hospital, I will meet you there later." Ron said to me as he lifted us from the floor.

"No."

"What?"

"I said no! You aren't leaving me, I'm not leaving you. Let's just get this done!" I cried.

"Hermione you can't, you need to go to the hospital now!"

"Come with me." I pleaded.

"This is my job Hermione, they need me."

"Please?" I whispered.

"Baby I can't, I need to see this through, you know I won't relax until it is finished. You have to go with Dan now. Go, be safe." He nodded to Dan behind me. I knew he was right, he needed to be here, he needed this fight.

"I love you, please come back to me." I cried. He kissed me.

"I love you so much, I will see you soon." And with that he ran off with the others up the stairs.

What just happened? Why did I let him go? I needed to go after him, I started to make a move towards the stairs but was grabbed from behind me.

"Let go of me, I need to go up there!"

"Hermione you are only going to hurt yourself more, you need to go to the hospital so do we." I recognised the voice as Dan's.

"No I need him, I need to help him! Let me go!" I cried and wrestled against Dan's arms.

"I can't let you do that, Ron would never forgive me if you got hurt, he's trusting me to keep you safe now. We need to go."

"I can't go! I can't leave him up there fighting for his life! I can't Dan, please you have to understand I can't." I pleaded with him, he had to let me go!

"I'm sorry." He said and I felt the familiar sensation of disapparation. I collapsed into a ball on the floor when we arrived in the hospital.

"No no no no no." I kept repeating. "Take me back, you have to take me back!"

"I can't, let's get you healed."

Dan had to practically drag me into a room where a doctor was waiting. I sat quietly whilst he examined me.

I was numb, numb from the pain both physical and emotional. I knew I would get the feeling back in my side soon, there would be a scar which would fade overtime but I was going to be okay, they made me sit in a private room waiting. I was brought fresh clothes, an all-white outfit of a baggy top and matching bottoms, they made me change. A nurse cleaned me up. All the while I sat on the bed knees close to my chest staring at a blank wall.

I was numb, Ron, my Ron, was still fighting right now, I didn't know if he was okay, if he would be okay, if he would come back the same man or if he would be completely fine. Seconds felt like years, I had only been at the hospital for a maximum of thirty minutes but it felt like a lifetime.

I was numb and I would be numb until my love returned to me.
