Previously:
"I want cake," she stated chuckling.
Kisuke nodded and she kissed his nose. He couldn't believe how lucky he had it or how much better he felt. They both stood up and headed for the door. They walked out of the lab and up to the shop. Yoruichi smiled brightly upon seeing the two together chuckling. Sui-Feng even cracked a smile. Ururu smiled and cut the cake. Jinta grinned eagerly ready to dig in. Risa sat by Kisuke and it took everything in him not to pull her into his lap again. She looked at him briefly and flashed him a smile, almost as if she could read his thoughts. He blushed and grinned as the cake was set before him.
The cake was delicious.
Into the Night...
Risa rolled over in her sleep and opened her eyes. She sighed softly. She was feeling anxious. She wiped at her eyes and looked over at the man sleeping next to her. She smiled slightly. He looked so innocent in his sleep. She brushed his hair back from his face and he groaned and turned so that he was lying on his back. She admired his toned features and suddenly felt a heat buildup deep within her stomach.
She gently pressed her lips to the silky skin of his shoulder. Then she inched closer and slowly pressed her lips to the hard muscle of his chest. He stirred slightly causing her to freeze. When he stilled again she carefully allowed her hand to slip under the blanket and under his boxers, caressing the smooth appendage softly. She wrapped her hand around it and began stroking it gently. Soon it was stiffening and Kisuke's hips unconsciously bucked up, pushing him further into her hand as he slept. She closed her eyes and gasped softly feeling the appendage swell and harden beneath her touch. Kisuke let out a guttural groan and stirred slightly.
Risa let go of the now hard appendage and removed her nightgown quickly. She placed soft kisses on his chest and trailed down his toned stomach. She paused at the base of his throbbing erection and glanced up at him. She chuckled silently.
He's completely out of it. Let's see if this wakes him up...
She eagerly took him into her mouth and she heard a soft moan escape his throat as he bucked his hips at the intense feeling. She swirled her tongue around it sucking on it here and there. She could feel him tremble beneath her and that only made her suck harder. Kisuke's eyes opened blearily and he blinked, trying to focus on where he was and what was happening. He glanced down, his eyes widening some as he realized he wasn't dreaming, and entangled his hand in her hair quickly, letting out a hiss on a particularly strong roll of her tongue.
He was close and she knew it because his breathing was quick and irregular, coming out in small gasps. He tried to hold back a little longer, but she was relentless and he found himself with no control.
"Ah, Risa...I'm—I'm—" he couldn't articulate the words, but she seemed to understand.
She braced herself and sucked harder causing him to groan and arch his hips upward as he filled her mouth. Risa swallowed greedily and soon she felt Kisuke relax underneath her. She released him and rested her head right below his belly button breathing heavily. He untangled his hand from her hair and gently rubbed her head earning a content sigh from his lover.
Risa didn't even think she had the energy to climb back up to her pillow. But she didn't have too, as two hands gripped her shoulders and pulled her up. She chuckled as her head hit the pillow and Kisuke looked down at her. She noticed his eyes were a cloudy grey. He regarded her for a moment before leaning down and placing a soft kiss on her neck. She let out a deep breath she didn't know she was holding in. Kisuke trailed his lips further down and she stopped him, furrowing her eyebrows. He moved her hands away calmly.
"You had your turn. It's my turn now," he said lustfully and Risa shivered.
He kissed between her breasts nuzzling one before taking the nipple into his mouth. Before she had time to react, he slipped two fingers into her wet entrance easily and began pumping quickly while biting and sucking hard on her nipple. Risa let out a choked cry and tried to muffle herself so as not to wake the rest of the house. Kisuke didn't seem to care, as he didn't lighten up on his ministrations at all. Risa's hand delved into his hair gripping it tightly so that he sucked quicker and rougher. Her hips thrust up to meet his skilled fingers. His mouth released her nipple and captured the other twirling his tongue around it skillfully. She gasped softly relishing in the feeling of his mouth on her. He left wet kisses trailing down her stomach and nipped her belly button playfully. He went lower biting the inside of her thigh and eliciting another moan from her. His fingers had slowed down some and she fidgeted beneath him trying to get them to go faster. Kisuke smirked slightly seeing her struggle.
"Kisuke..." she murmured frustrated.
Kisuke let his tongue flick between her wet folds and her eyes widened and she gasped. She struggled against the intense pleasure, but he held her hips down as his tongue repeatedly flickered back and forth through her folds. His fingers picked up their speed again as he roughly sucked on the sensitive skin. She gripped the bed sheets tightly within her grasp and tensed.
"Oh god, Kisuke! I'm—"
And he stopped. Her eyes widened and she cursed.
"No, no don't stop!" she pleaded trying to maintain an indoor voice.
Kisuke smirked as he made his way back up her body leaving trails of kisses and licks along the way. She whimpered as his fingers left her and were shoved into her mouth. She sucked on his fingers hungrily and he groaned watching her, his length hardening beyond belief. He closed his eyes as she bucked her hips against him, rubbing her wetness against his burning shaft.
"Please..." she begged catching his eyes.
He leaned down and kissed her slowly savoring the taste of her. Risa returned the kiss eagerly, nipping his bottom lip lightly. Kisuke rolled his hips, rubbing against her wetness, making her moan in desperation. He let his hand gently adjust her hip, positioning himself at her entrance and slowly slid into her. She threw her head back and moaned into his mouth as he filled her completely. His jaw clenched as he began to move, gaining a rhythm soon after. He lowered his head to her neck groaning as he thrust into her wet center. Her walls squeezed and clenched around his shaft causing him to grunt and move faster. Risa's arms tightened around his neck bringing him closer to her.
"P-Please, don't s-stop...please..." she mumbled out feeling her limit approaching.
Kisuke worked faster, rolling his hips into her, feeling his end approaching as well. Risa wrapped her legs around his waist pulling him in deeper and they both came at the same time, moaning, grunting, and reeling from the experience. He stilled within her just barely holding himself up over her. He carefully pulled out of her and dropped to the side tiredly. Risa turned so that she was facing him.
"I thoroughly enjoyed waking up to that," he grinned and she chuckled.
"Be here in the morning, okay? I want to wake up next to you," she whispered and he smiled and nodded.
He watched her fall asleep before he turned on his back and looked at the ceiling. He rubbed his eyes. Suddenly, there was a lot on his mind of both past and present and he took some time to reflect.
Flashback...
She knocked on his door hesitantly. After a few moments of shuffling inside, the door opened revealing a disheveled looking Captain. He was in dark green pajama pants and his hair was a mess. He wiped the sleep from his eyes and she realized he had just woken up. She stepped back, trying really hard not to look at his bare chest.
"Lieutenant!" he smiled happily and backed up.
"Come in," he said and she blushed and waved her hands.
"Uh, it can wait. I didn't mean to wake you," she said turning to leave.
"Risa," he said, his voice turning serious.
Risa stopped, but didn't turn back around.
"I'd like it if you came in," he said softly and she turned to him.
He smiled politely at her and she noticed a soft red tint on his cheeks. She smiled shyly and walked in. Kisuke closed the door and turned to her. She blinked and tried to calm down. She was in his quarters with him, without his shirt on.
"C-Can you put a shirt on please?" she asked and he frowned.
"Am I making you uncomfortable?" he asked and she blushed deeply.
"It's very distracting..." she trailed off staring at his toned upper body.
Kisuke blushed madly and looked for a shirt. He turned and Risa blinked, her blush fading. She saw the bandage on his side towards his back and her eyes lowered. Kisuke slipped on a shirt and noticed her change right away.
"It's healing," he smiled and she shuffled in place slightly.
"I should have gotten help sooner," she chided herself and Kisuke walked up to her, lifting her chin.
"Don't do that. You did everything right and I'm fine. I'm more concerned about how you're doing," he said and she saw the concern flash in his grey eyes.
She smiled. She wished he'd touch her more. Her chin tingled.
"I'm fine."
"Are you? Because your wounds were severe, worse than my own, and they wouldn't let me see you in the barracks when I was released. I understand if you need more time to recover. You suffered internal injuries and I don't want you to put any more strain on your—"
"—Kisuke," she spoke, stopping him.
He involuntarily shivered when she said his name. He looked at her, waiting for her to speak.
"I'll admit I'm not totally fine, but I'm doing a lot better. That's actually why I came to see you today. I can't stay inside my barracks any longer. It's been two weeks. I won't engage in any fighting out in the field, but at least allow me to partake in the squad meetings and trainings. Please, I'm losing my mind," she admitted and he looked at her warily.
"I don't—"
"—please. I'm miserable away from everyone," she begged and he faltered.
"Perhaps if maybe you got clearance from Captain Unohana," he suggested.
Risa huffed.
"She'll say no. She's overly cautious," she tried.
Kisuke wanted to say yes. He missed her presence on the squad terribly and he could see it affect others on the squad as well.
"I want to say yes, but you were really hurt and I'm a little uneasy about it," he admitted.
Risa sighed.
"Fine, but then I'll go and train somewhere by myself, because I'm not going to just sit in my barracks all day and night," she said shrugging and his eyes widened.
Suddenly, his hands were gripping hers tightly and he was staring down at her.
"Risa, promise me you will never do something so reckless. Please, promise me, because I wouldn't be able to handle it if something were to happen to you because of me. I'm having enough trouble looking at you now without running through my head what I could have done differently so that you weren't hurt," he said quickly.
Her eyes widened seeing the seriousness in his eyes. She blinked and nodded blushing faintly. There went that plan.
"Alright, I promise," she whispered and she watched him visibly relax.
He released her hands and stepped back.
"You can stay with the squad and train with us, but nothing too strenuous. And absolutely no field work," he said sternly.
Risa grinned and almost jumped up. She walked over to him and threw her arms around him happily.
"Thank you!" she squealed and he smiled lightly, returning the hug.
He could feel the bandages under her clothes and closed his eyes momentarily as if in pain. Risa pulled away intent on going to speak with Hiyori and Mayuri about returning when he spoke.
"Are we ever going to speak about it?" he asked gently and she turned to him.
He looked at her and she stared back with wide eyes.
"About what?" she asked.
"About the kiss between us that day," he said bluntly.
"I had thought you forgot," she whispered and he shook his head.
"No, I couldn't forget something like that," he said honestly and she blushed.
She walked up to him slowly and stopped a foot away.
"What do you want to talk about?" she asked and he blushed.
"What happens next," he answered and she felt her heart pounding in her chest.
She forced herself to shake her head slightly.
"A relationship between a Captain and their Lieutenant is frowned upon heavily here. It could taint a reputation forever. I would never want to do that to you. So it's probably best to just forget it and move on," she said and headed for the door.
She opened the door about a quarter when his hand stopped her and closed it again. She turned around to meet his gaze surprised.
"And if I don't want to forget it?" he asked with a quiet boldness.
Risa's eyes lowered. She reached out and touched his side, feeling the bandaging through the fabric. Then she looked at him and shook her head slowly.
"I don't want you to forget it," she admitted and his eyes widened slightly before his lips captured hers in a kiss.
Risa, though taken off guard, returned the kiss ardently. His hands wrapped around her waist, mindful of her bandages, and held her to him. Her hands caressed his cheeks and then let them delve into his pale blonde hair deepening the kiss. When they finally pulled away gasping for breath they regarded each other quietly.
"Please don't let go," she whispered and his eyes widened as he found himself shaking his head and holding her tighter.
"I won't," he spoke surprising himself.
He was stunned by his strong feelings for this woman. She had an effect on him that he couldn't quite explain just yet. He leaned down and placed a sweet kiss on her lips.
"Kisuke, what does this mean?" she asked as there was a knock at the door.
He reluctantly let her go and regained his calm demeanor as he opened the door. Yoruichi stood on the other side with Sui-Feng.
She was about to speak when she noticed Risa there. She smirked.
"Busy?" she asked and Risa walked to the door.
"Thank you for your time Captain," she mumbled and left quickly.
"Not anymore," Kisuke said slightly annoyed at the interruption and Yoruichi caught his tone.
She frowned.
"Why was she here?" she asked and Kisuke scratched his head.
"She wants to come back to train with the squad," he said and Yoruichi shook her head.
"She's still wounded Kisuke," she scolded and Kisuke waved her off.
"She's healing and besides, the squad misses her," he said aloofly.
"The squad misses her or you miss her?" she shot back and Kisuke's eyes snapped to hers.
Sui-Feng's eyes widened slightly.
"Both, she's my lieutenant, so of course I miss her presence," he said smiling lazily.
Yoruichi shook her head.
"Kisuke, the rules—"
"—I know the rules Yoruichi. I don't need them repeated," he said firmly and Sui-Feng was shocked.
The usually laid back Captain was so stern with her Captain. Yoruichi scoffed.
"There are plenty of women here that would bow at your feet if you asked them to Kisuke. Sleep with one of them. Your lieutenant is forbidden. Besides, Risa looks like the settling down type and let's be honest, that's just not your type," she grinned.
Kisuke shook his head.
"Then why are we still having this conversation?" he asked smirking.
Yoruichi laughed and started talking about something else, but Kisuke's mind was elsewhere in a land where it was just him and his dark haired, green eyed, Lieutenant.
End Flashback.
Kisuke turned slightly to stare at the woman sleeping next to him. He watched her take calm breaths as she slept. He turned on his side as another memory resurfaced.
Flashback...
"Ow!" Risa yelped as she was firmly planted on her ass.
She glanced up at Hiyori, who smirked down at her.
"That's the third time I've knocked you on your ass today. What's wrong with you, Lieutenant?" she mocked.
Risa struggled to her feet. Being on bed rest for a while had taken its toll. Her body was too relaxed. And every time she got hit it hurt ten times worse than it should. Not to mention her mind wasn't fully on the spar, but on a certain lazy, blonde headed Captain of hers. Risa gasped as Hiyori took advantage of her daydreaming and kicked her square in the chest, Risa's signature move. Risa flew back and hit the ground, the wind taken out of her completely. She coughed and held her chest wincing slightly.
"Alright, that's enough," Kisuke said calling the match.
Risa cursed and sat up letting her arms rest on her knees. She tried to regulate her breathing, but it still came out in shaky gasps. Hiyori walked up to her frowning.
"I don't appreciate you going easy on me like that! Do it again and I'll kick your ass!" she seethed and Risa stared at her confused as she stalked off.
She sighed as a hand was extended to her. She glanced up to see Kisuke. She took his hand and he pulled her up. She flinched and held her chest tightly, stumbling some. He steadied her and they looked at each other.
"This was clearly a lapse in my judgment. You're in pain," he whispered and she forced a grin.
"Don't worry, I'm okay," she said and walked over to the grassy area to sit.
He sat down beside her, watching her carefully. She smiled at him and cleared her throat.
"I'm really alright," she said, but he didn't look convinced.
She coughed then and spit as blood came to her mouth. His eyes widened and he went to get up, but she stopped him.
"It's okay, this isn't from my old injury. Hiyori just caught me in the face. It's already stopped," she tried and he grabbed her hands tightly bringing them to his chest.
Risa's eyes widened and she looked at her squad, to make sure they didn't notice the intimate gesture. Thankfully, they were too busy training. She could feel his heart beat was accelerated slightly.
"Risa," Kisuke said lowly catching her attention.
She looked at him.
"It's driving me crazy not being able to touch you like I want to. It's all I've been thinking about since that day the Hollows attacked. But I will not touch you if I think I can break you. And right now that's how I feel. You're hurt and you need time to heal. More time than this. I allowed my feelings for you to cloud my judgment as your Captain. I don't think you're ready to come back just yet and you're going to force me to order you back to your barracks," he whispered.
She stared at him wide eyed. She wanted to kiss him, but she knew if she kissed him now he wouldn't stop her or push her away, but return it with just as much intensity. She leaned closer to him.
"All I want to do is kiss you again," she admitted and Kisuke's eyes widened slightly and he blushed.
He released her hands, but she kept them to his chest.
"You can kiss me whenever you like," he answered and she blushed.
"That's untrue. What about right now?" she questioned.
"I wouldn't stop you," he admitted and it made it that much harder for her to resist him.
She took in a deep breath and dropped her hands.
"Tonight?" she asked.
"Tonight," he confirmed.
Later that Night...
Risa left her quarters and headed over to his trying to contain her excitement. She was about twenty feet away from his door when the sirens went off. She froze and looked around. Her squad members began opening their doors to see what was going on. She paused when she smelt it.
Fire.
She went to step towards the now visible smoke when she was halted. She turned. Kisuke stared at the smoke billowing from further down, and then looked at her.
"Sit this one out," he said and she sighed.
"It's just a fire," she whined and he smiled lazily.
"Yes, which is why we should have no problem handling this one ourselves," he got her and she sagged.
"When I return I would like to continue where we left off this morning," he whispered to her and she blushed madly as he took off with the squad.
She stood in her empty barracks and sighed mentally trying to will herself to heal faster. She watched for a few minutes as the smoke began to die down. She smiled inwardly. At least it wasn't anything too serious. Then a violent explosion rocked her ears and shook the ground beneath her. She stumbled, but managed to stay on her feet, her eyes wide. She watched as smoke and fire erupted into the sky and she gasped taking off towards it.
The Squad Two Barracks…
She arrived at the Squad Two barracks, the source of the fire, and her eyes widened.
"She's still in there! We can't just leave her, she'll die!" Kisuke seethed.
He was being held back by Shinji and Shunsui. He was bleeding from his head and arm. The blood ran steadily down the side of his head down his neck. Hiyori stared at him wide eyed. She too was cut up some. Sui-Feng was also being restrained by members of her squad.
"Lady Yoruichi!" she screamed terrified.
"Captain Urahara, the flames are too large and abundant. One explosion already proved almost fatal to some of our men including you. We need to let them die down some. We can't go in blind," Captain Yamamoto said calmly.
Risa watched Kisuke turn towards the flames. The two on his sides weren't letting him go any time soon. She could tell their grip was unyielding.
"You're killing her by waiting!" Kisuke shouted and Sui-Feng nodded in a shocked agreement.
Risa ran up to the group causing eyes to turn to her.
"What happened? I heard explosions," she asked and Hiyori wiped at some blood on her cheek.
"Fire in the main Squad Two barracks. We tried to get inside, but that didn't work out very well," she said motioning to her cuts.
Risa nodded and turned to Kisuke.
"Captain, how sure are you that she's even in there?" she asked softly.
Kisuke met her eyes. Blood trickled down his head and into his eyes mixing with his grey irises.
"I saw her. I almost had her, but a beam broke," he said weakly.
"Yeah, on you! I had to drag him out," Hiyori said as if reliving it.
Risa reached out and hesitantly wiped some of the blood out of his eyes. He closed them trying hard not to react to her touch.
"Don't worry Captain," she grinned suddenly causing all eyes to widen.
"Risa, don't!" Kisuke and Shinji yelled at the same time.
They both knew her too well. Risa took off into the burning barracks. No one could catch her except for Kisuke, who was being held back. She was too fast. She was inside in a moment and covered her mouth with her shihakusho. She scanned the area quickly as smoke clouded her eyesight. Not her brightest move, but she was sure she'd hear about that all later. She figured she'd try looking the old fashioned way.
"Captain Shihoin!" she called and listened.
The fire crackled around her, things would suddenly spark, and she feared more explosions.
"Yoruichi!" she called again.
"Come on! Meow or something!" she shouted frustrated.
She knew she wasn't leaving without the damn woman. She just needed to find her faster, because the smoke was beginning to burn her lungs and eyes. Then she heard it faintly.
A meow.
She followed the soft cry to a back room. Yoruichi was lying on her side in her cat form trapped under a heavy beam. Another beam stood in front of her blocking her way. The poor cat looked like she had seen better days.
"Hang on! I'm coming for you!" she yelled looking around.
She saw no other way to get around the beam. She coughed harshly and ducked out of the way as another beam broke and dropped. She groaned and decided to jump it. She knew she'd get injured doing so, but she had to get that damn cat. She leaped over the beam, pressing her foot to it and pushing off. Except the beam gave way and fell into a now gaping hole in the floor. Risa felt herself falling and reached out, grabbing the first thing she could grasp so as not to fall. She winced as she grabbed a part of another beam. It seared into her hand and Risa fought the urge to let go and fall into the blazing fire storm below.
She focused and pulled herself up, ignoring the blood pouring down her damaged hand. She cradled her ribs from when she fell and made her way over to the cat. She pushed the beam off with her shoulder, thankful it wasn't hot like the others. The cat didn't move and for a moment fear entered Risa's veins.
"Y-Yoruichi?" she called and the cat's golden eyes opened.
"T-Thought you were a goner there R-Risa..." Yoruichi mumbled.
Risa threw her a grin and shook her head.
"That's a lame way to die," she joked.
She looked around.
"Yoruichi, I need you to stay in this form so I can carry you out. Don't change, okay?" she asked.
"R-Risa..." Yoruichi mumbled dazed.
Risa scooped the cat up carefully and held her to her chest securely. She tread carefully across the floor coughing as she inhaled clouds of smoke. Her eyes blurred and she could barely see.
"R-Risa...the floor..." the cat muttered against her chest and Risa saw gaping holes forming in the floor.
She managed to get around them. The smoke was overwhelming her. She coughed and wheezed and managed to make it to the door, when another beam fell blocking her way and knocking her down in the process. She cursed and forced herself to her feet. She didn't realize how wobbly she was. She held the cat tighter to her and slammed her hand into the window to her left. Air rushed in through the window giving her lungs momentary relief. She could see blurry figures running towards her. She held the cat out the window, feeling her vision begin to go.
"Take her," she choked out and felt the cat leave her arms.
She dropped to one knee exhausted and then felt strong hands grab her shoulders tightly and haul her out the window into their body protectively. She rested her head dazedly against the person's chest.
"Everyone back! It's coming down!" a voice shouted.
The person jumped back with her, still holding her to them protectively. She kept her eyes closed as they landed. She felt them wipe her eyes with their fingers and finally she opened them and was happy to be able to see again. And the first thing she saw was the worried grey eyes of her Captain.
"Risa," he said softly and she blinked.
Then she coughed harshly. Kisuke held her close to him and put something to her mouth.
"Breathe," he ordered gently and she took in a deep clean breath of oxygen.
It felt amazing against her aching lungs. She placed her hand over his inhaling deeply and shutting her eyes.
"Easy, it's alright," he whispered soothingly to her, brushing some of her hair out of her face.
After a moment she opened her eyes and pulled the mask away slowly.
"Yoruichi?" she asked hoarsely.
Kisuke looked over to his left and nodded.
"She's breathing and awake thanks to you. They got her out of her cat form and she's close by, waiting for the stretchers to take you guys to the Squad Four barracks."
Risa frowned and shook her head.
"I don't have to go to the Squad Four barracks. I just inhaled a little smoke," she tried.
Kisuke shook his head.
"And thoroughly burned your hand. You probably have bruised ribs as well if not broken," he chided her and she looked down.
He let his hand slowly lower and gently caressed her side. She tensed and he went to withdraw his hand, but she stopped him. His eyes widened slightly as she rested her head against his chest, keeping his hand in place.
"Does it hurt? It looks like it hurts," he whispered looking at her hand.
Risa shook her head.
"Not so much anymore," she said.
"That doesn't sound good," he said upset.
Risa shrugged.
"It'll heal," she said calmly.
Kisuke shook his head.
"This is not how I envisioned our night going," he murmured and she chuckled.
He smiled weakly and let his fingers slowly caress her side.
"Thank you Risa...for saving her," he whispered and Risa nodded.
"Risa, let's go. We're heading to the Squad Four barracks!" Hiyori snapped walking ahead with Shinji.
Risa turned to Kisuke.
"Your wounds need to be looked at too," she said and he nodded.
"You first," he shot back and they stood and walked off.
In the Squad Four Barracks...
They had been updated on Yoruichi's recovery every so often. She couldn't have any visitors yet, but she was aware they were all there. Captain Unohana walked out and smiled.
"Lieutenant Inari, please come in. Captain Urahara, could you join us as well?" she asked and Kisuke frowned slightly.
They walked in and Captain Unohana turned to them.
"Lieutenant, I need you to lie down on your back and extend your hand on the table please," she said calmly.
Risa's hair bristled on her neck. That didn't sound like a normal procedure. She swallowed the lump in her throat as realization set in.
"You called him in to hold me down, right?" she asked weakly.
Captain Unohana nodded and Kisuke's eyes widened.
"What? Why?" he asked startled.
"I need her awake to do this procedure. I have to make her move her hand when I need her to. That's why she cannot have any numbing agent as well. I thought instead of having a stranger hold her down, that she would be more comfortable if it was you," she explained.
Kisuke had paled a considerable amount during her explanation. Risa took in a deep breath and walked to the table, laying down and gently extending her burned hand. Captain Unohana smiled lightly.
"You are a brave woman Lieutenant," she said and walked over to her.
"He doesn't have to be here. I don't mind someone else doing it," Risa whispered trying to relax.
Risa felt hands gently grip her arms and glanced up. Kisuke leaned over her uneasily. He offered a small smile.
"I wouldn't leave you to go through something like this alone," he said firmly and she blushed.
Captain Unohana pulled a large scalpel from her drawer and Risa tensed. Kisuke's eyes widened and his grip on her arms tightened. Risa closed her eyes, giving herself a mental pep talk. She felt the scalpel touch her hand and squeezed her eyes shut as it cut away at the burnt skin. Tears blurred her vision and she tried hard not to scream.
"You're doing excellent Lieutenant," Unohana said softly.
Risa gritted her teeth.
"C-Call m-me R-Risa..." she choked out fighting the urge to yell.
Unohana smiled and nodded. Kisuke stared at the procedure wide eyed. He wanted to look away. He was horrified. But he couldn't. Risa muffled a gasp as the blade cut deeper. Kisuke squeezed her shoulders reassuringly. Then the blade stopped.
"She's going to struggle now. Please prepare yourself," she said to Kisuke and before Risa could register what that meant, she felt the blade cut into her again.
But this time it was different. Pain exploded throughout her hand shocking her body and she screamed. Her body struggled trying to thrash around, but Kisuke held her down firmly.
"Talk to her Captain Urahara, try to keep her mind off of it," Unohana said firmly and Kisuke lowered his forehead onto her shoulder.
"Risa, listen to me. It's going to be alright. It's almost over," he tried, but she screamed louder as tears poured from her eyes.
He felt sick seeing her in so much pain and there was nothing he could do. He leaned in closer to her, kissing her sweaty forehead slowly. This caught her attention, given that Unohana was in the room. Her screaming died down some as she was effectively distracted for the moment.
"Look at me," he whispered and she focused on him.
He smiled at her and took her good hand in his tightly.
"Once this is over, we'll visit Yoruichi and then go back to my barracks to eat. I can cook something. I'm an excellent cook," he grinned.
She cleared her throat.
"You're a t-terrible c-cook," she mustered and then giggled lightly.
Kisuke playfully glared at her. Then he grinned goofily.
"Then you can cook," he said and she chuckled and nodded.
Unohana smiled at the two unnoticed. Kisuke wiped her sweat soaked hair back from her face and gently wiped at her tears.
"And we'll just relax and enjoy the rest of the night," he said and she nodded.
She still held his hand tightly within hers as Unohana finished up.
"Alright, move your fingers and then make a fist," she said and Risa complied.
"Excellent, it'll be a little stiff for a while, but take a look. Good as new," she smiled and Risa laughed at her healed hand.
Unohana bandaged up her hand for precaution. Captain Unohana turned to Kisuke and motioned for him to sit.
"Your turn," she said and he sat in a chair.
Unohana turned as the door opened.
"Captain, you're needed in Captain Shihoin's room for a moment," her Lieutenant Kotetsu said softly.
She turned to Risa and handed her the gauze and water along with some rubbing alcohol.
"Here Risa-san, clean him up and I'll be in shortly," she said and exited.
Risa sat across from him and wet the gauze with the rubbing alcohol. She looked at him and made a face.
"This might sting," she whispered and he nodded tensing slightly.
She softly pressed the gauze to his head and he flinched.
"Sorry," she murmured.
"I'm fine," he said and she nodded.
She began cleaning the blood off his face carefully, focusing in on some parts here and there.
"Take off your haori," she said once his head was cleaned thoroughly and he did as he was told, though with some difficulty.
She could see he was in pain as his haori brushed over his shoulder wound. She helped him remove it and watched his body tense as she carefully pushed it off his shoulders, down his arms, and off of him. Their eyes met and they held each other's gaze. He leaned his forehead against hers and his eyes lowered and darkened.
"I don't want to be here," he whispered and she smiled.
"Neither do I," she said and his lips slowly met hers.
Risa's body relaxed and she raised her hands gently cupping his cheeks. His lips were so soft and gentle against hers and she found herself moving closer to him, wanting to be closer to him. His hands caressed her neck delicately. They pulled away slightly, their noses still touching. He lifted her bandaged hand to his lips and kissed it tenderly. She smiled warmly at him.
Then the door opened and he once again was forced to let go of her hand. She let it rest in her lap. Captain Unohana finished patching up his head and then went to work on his shoulder. Risa watched her clean his deep shoulder wound intently.
"It's almost finished," Unohana said calmly.
Once she was done, she bandaged it up and smiled.
"Well, you two are all set. Captain Shihoin can have visitors now, but a word of caution. Her Lieutenant is in there with her," she mused and left.
Risa rolled her eyes playfully.
"Now we'll never see—" she was stopped by lips connecting with her own in an intense kiss.
When he pulled away she stared up at him shocked. He took in a deep breath and touched her face lightly being content with just touching her.
"Let's go visit Yoruichi and then head back to your place," Risa suggested and he nodded.
They left the room, checked on Yoruichi (they didn't stay long as Sui-Feng hissed from their arrival to their departure), they promised to come back in the morning, and then they headed off to his barracks. It was late and everyone seemed to be in for the night. They walked in and as soon as he closed the door she was on him. His back hit the door lightly as her lips met his hungrily in a passionate kiss. He smiled into the kiss, returning it deeply.
She wrapped her arms around his neck keeping him to her. They only pulled away for air before reuniting their lips once again. His hands lowered to her waist and gripped her thighs before scooping her up in his arms. She wrapped her legs around his waist as he held her to him. Then he pushed off the door and carried her to his room. Night had descended over the Soul Society and everything was so quiet. Kisuke gently laid her down on his bed, their lips never disconnecting as he leaned over her, one hand on either side of her head.
She tugged off his haori, mindful of his healing shoulder and pulled at the fabric of his shihakusho. He helped her remove it while she slipped out of her own clothes quickly. Then they both took a moment to regard each other in just their underwear. She could feel his hard length through the fabric and blushed, realizing suddenly what they were just moments away from doing. She was nervous. Kisuke smiled at her nerves and leaned down capturing her lips again in a gentle kiss.
"Are you alright?" he whispered when he pulled away.
She nodded slowly never breaking his gaze. Kisuke blushed. He didn't want to ask her, but he felt he had too.
"Risa, have you...done this before?" he asked and her eyes widened slightly.
For a moment, Kisuke thought he said the wrong thing and wished he could take it back.
"Yes," she said simply.
Kisuke nodded processing it. Risa cleared her throat and blushed.
"Um, have you?" she asked and he chuckled lightly at her awkwardness.
"Yes, I have," he said nodding.
Risa let out a breath and relaxed some. She hesitantly lifted her head up and pressed her lips to his bare chest tenderly. Kisuke's eyes widened slightly as emotions he wasn't familiar with rose in his chest causing it to ache. But it was a good ache. She pulled away and looked up at him as he stared down at her.
"Kisuke?" she questioned touching his face and she broke him out of his daze.
He kissed her hand sweetly before leaning down so that he rested on his elbows. Suddenly, he realized he was hesitating because he was nervous and this revelation surprised him greatly. He had never been nervous when it had come to this particular act. Risa frowned.
"Are you okay?" she whispered and he forced himself to nod weakly.
He wasn't just nervous, he was frozen with anxiety. He could barely breathe. What was happening? Was he having a panic attack? Risa seemed to notice his hesitation and touched his cheek, causing him to look at her. She smiled at him slightly and suddenly threw her weight so that she was able to turn him over. She laid on him and pressed her lips to his chin, slowly grinding against his erection. His mouth dropped open and he let out a guttural groan, shocked by her bold move...and his reaction to it. He never let any of the women he had been with lead like this. He was always in control. Where the hell was his control? She slowly kissed his neck and she could feel his body begin to respond to the sensations accordingly.
"Kisuke," she whispered and he looked at her dazedly.
"Hm?" he managed to get out.
"I'd like it very much if you put your hands on me," she whispered into his ear and nibbled the lobe playfully.
He closed his eyes and his hands rose, gripping her bra straps and pulling them down her shoulders. He easily unclasped it and she pulled it off, dropping it on the floor. She let her hands roam his body, feeling his smooth skin beneath her touch. She could feel him trembling slightly and leaned down so that she was face to face with him.
"It's going to be okay. I'm nervous too. But I'm sure I want this. I'm here with you right now wanting this more than anything. But if you don't, I completely under—"
She squealed as he turned her over so that he was on top and in control again. Her words made it all clear to him. They had sex before, but this was different. They fully intended to stay with each other through the night and wake up the next morning together. They were about to make love, and this was completely new to him. The difference was very clear and it showed. He was paralyzed by his emotions, something that had happened to him only once before in his life. And that was a time he tried to forget every day.
He leaned down and pressed his lips to hers eagerly. She grabbed his cheeks deepening the kiss and thrust her hips upward, rubbing against him again. He squeezed his eyes shut and his hands lowered to her panties. He pulled them down slowly; taking his time as his eyes never left hers. She slipped out of them and watched him remove the rest of his clothes as well. He resumed his position and she closed her eyes and gasped lightly as his now free erection rubbed against her thigh. He swallowed hard and tried to control himself. Risa let her hands roam his body.
"Please Kisuke..." she almost begged.
He shivered slightly and adjusted her, positioning himself at her entrance. He slowly pulled her onto him and she threw her head back at the sensations that erupted within her. He closed his eyes tightly as her walls clenched around him. He paused briefly and kissed her intensely while shoving the rest of himself into her wet center. They both cried out in pleasure and Risa gripped onto him, her nails digging into his back. Kisuke held her tightly burying his head in the crook of her neck.
"Oh god...Risa," he breathed unable to think properly for much more speech.
He slowly started a rhythm and after a moment she met his deep thrusts. She moaned loudly at the feeling of him inside of her. She had wanted it for a while and now that she finally got it, she was incredibly satisfied with the outcome. She felt his grip on her waist tighten and her lips met his again in a hungry kiss. He emitted a low groan as her walls clenched around him, pulling him in deeper, swallowing him. She was close and he knew it. He wasn't far behind. Risa hugged him to her and bit into his shoulder causing him to growl and nip her earlobe.
"K-Kisuke..." she could feel the heat within her intensifying to the point where she thought she'd burst.
He pressed his lips to hers fully intending to withdraw from her. He was too close and he didn't trust himself to stay in control through her orgasm. Risa felt him withdrawing and wrapped her legs around him tighter, holding him to her.
"N-No, please. Please stay," she choked out and his eyes widened slightly.
"Are you sure?" he asked her nervously.
This was a first for him as well. Risa nodded quickly and brought her hands to his face.
"Please," she whispered and he groaned and kissed her intensely, continuing his deep thrusts faster this time.
Risa bucked her hips and came hard emitting a loud moan of pleasure. Kisuke gasped as her walls milked him causing him to release inside of her harshly. He stilled, his body shaking from the intensity. She rested beneath him, trying to regain her breath. Her body relaxed and she kissed his forehead lovingly. He looked at her tiredly and nuzzled her chin before dropping to his side completely exhausted, but utterly satisfied. She turned to face him, pulling his blanket up to cover them both and smiled. She moved closer to him and he wrapped his arm around her, holding her to him protectively.
"Good night Kisuke," she mumbled already half asleep.
He kissed her forehead, watching as she fell asleep with a smile. Then he closed his eyes, deciding not to think about the repercussions of what they just did until tomorrow.
End Memory.
Kisuke blinked and saw that the sun was peeking up above the horizon. It would be morning soon. He didn't sleep at all. His mind was on overload, though why he was thinking of these particular memories he didn't know.
Memory...
They agreed to keep their relationship a secret until they were able to figure out a way to tell everyone. A way that didn't involve damning them both. A few weeks had passed since that night and they got used to meeting in secret, usually at night. They didn't know that Yoruichi and Shinji were onto them. They had both respectively warned the two to keep it professional. On this day, Shinji and Yoruichi met and planned to find out for sure what was going on, without getting anyone into trouble of course.
Kisuke walked with Risa down the corridors to the Captains meeting that was taking place shortly. In his hand was a pad and pen. He was scribbling away at some formula he had developed with Mayuri. As they arrived they saw Shinji and Yoruichi waiting outside. No one else seemed to be there yet.
"Hey Kisuke!" Yoruichi waved him over and he turned to Risa, giving her a small smile, before heading off.
Shinji walked up to Risa and forced a blush.
"Ah Risa, I have something to tell you," he said and Risa smiled and waited for him to speak.
Shinji fidgeted and seemed to hesitate with what he wanted to say. Risa chuckled.
"Spit it out Shinji!" she yelled at him playfully.
Yoruichi smirked and Kisuke frowned at her.
"What are you smirking about?" he asked raising a playful eyebrow, still focused some on his formula.
Yoruichi chuckled.
"We're about to witness a confession," she grinned and Kisuke maintained his lazy smile on the outside, but on the inside he had paled a considerable amount.
Shinji took Risa's hands in his and smiled nervously.
"I've fallen in love with you," he said and watched as Risa's eyes grew wide.
Kisuke tensed slightly, trying to keep his calm. He had stopped writing and was staring at the two friends intently now. Yoruichi smirked at his reaction. She was curious to see which one caved first.
"W-What?" Risa asked taken off guard.
Shinji shrugged and chuckled nervously.
"Yeah," he admitted.
"Really?" she asked raising an eyebrow.
Shinji sweat dropped.
"I just confessed this huge secret and this is how you react?! Skepticism?!" he snapped and Risa flinched, her eyes softening.
"I'm sorry Shinji. I didn't know. You always joke about this type of stuff," she mumbled honestly.
Shinji nodded.
"I know," he agreed.
Risa smiled.
"How long?" she asked and he thought about it.
"A while," he lied and Risa blushed.
"Well okay then. Kiss me," she dared him and he knew it.
Everyone's eyes widened. Shinji hadn't thought this far. Neither had Yoruichi. He began to sweat.
"Well? What are you waiting for? Kiss me Shinji," she said impatiently.
Shinji thought he'd die. He swallowed the lump in his throat and stepped forward awkwardly. Kisuke held his breath. How far were they going to go with this? Would she let him kiss her? Would he kiss her? He didn't like that at all. Shinji leaned down about to close the space between them when a loud snap was heard.
Shinji turned around as did Risa. Yoruichi gasped and grabbed a handkerchief out of her back pocket to dab at the blood welling up in Kisuke's hand. The pen dropped to the floor, broken in half. Risa's eyes widened.
"Captain?" she called unsurely, but he lifted his head and shook it.
"My apologies for the interruption. Please continue," he said waving them off.
Yoruichi stared at him while she tied the handkerchief tightly around his hand. Risa turned to Shinji quickly.
"I have to go," she said and went to go to Kisuke.
Shinji reached out and grabbed her arm firmly. Kisuke stepped forward, but he was stopped by Yoruichi.
"Hey, take it easy, they're just talking," she said and Kisuke looked at her.
Risa swallowed the lump in her throat.
"Why are you doing this?" she asked uneasily.
Shinji frowned.
"Doing what?" he asked.
Risa glanced at Kisuke and then back at her friend.
"You're trying to catch me and it's unfair," she spoke honestly.
Shinji shook his head.
"I'm trying to protect you," he shot back.
"I can protect myself," she countered shaking her head and shook his hand off.
He reached out again in an attempt to grab her, but she smacked his hand away. Yoruichi watched Kisuke's eyes burn holes through Hirako. She touched his shoulder.
"He would never hurt her. They're friends," she said softly.
"What is this?" he asked and she sighed.
"You know what this is. Did you sleep with her Kisuke?" she asked bluntly.
"I don't kiss and tell," he mused and she glared at him.
"The rules—"
"—I know the rules."
"And yet you blatantly ignored them!" she seethed lowly.
Kisuke sighed softly and turned to her.
"I didn't ignore them I simply...chose not to apply them," he said smiling lazily.
Yoruichi shook her head.
"She's your lieutenant. She's your right hand Kisuke. She could turn—"
"—she's not like that and besides, I don't see why it wouldn't work out," he said aloofly.
Yoruichi stared at him wide eyed.
"Do you want me to give you the list?" she asked angrily.
"Ah, no thank you," he said trying to end the unpleasant conversation.
Yoruichi grabbed his haori.
"One of you will get hurt in this Kisuke."
Kisuke frowned at his best friend.
"That's not a very nice thing to say," he said and she shook her head.
"I'm not kidding around here!"
"Neither am I," he said curtly, his change of tone shocking her.
"Leave it be Yoruichi, I'm very serious. It doesn't concern you. It's my choice so I will handle it as I see fit," he added and turned to Risa and Shinji, who also seemed to be deep in conversation.
"Lieutenant," he called and Risa looked to him and then glanced back at Shinji.
"I'm perfectly capable of handling myself," they heard her whisper sharply to her friend.
Shinji sighed and folded his arms defiantly.
"Of all the eligible men here, leave it to you to fall for the one person who's completely forbidden," he muttered and Risa's glare broke.
"I'm happy Shinji," she whispered and his eyes widened.
Risa closed her eyes and her hands balled into fists frustrated.
"I'm really happy and you should be happy for me," she snapped quietly.
Shinji's tough demeanor faltered.
"Be happy...with someone else."
Risa's eyes widened and her breathing became heavy.
"Why would you say that?" she snapped upset.
Kisuke turned to Yoruichi.
"If one tear falls from her eyes there is going to be a problem," he spoke calmly.
Yoruichi stared at the man she called her best friend. His demeanor was different. He wasn't the insecure, shy man who took over Squad Twelve any longer. He had changed and this woman was behind it.
"Risa…he's your Captain—"
"—and I'm so incredibly happy with him," she cut him off.
"But—"
"—he takes away the pain and sadness Shinji. Please be happy for me, please," she pleaded with her best friend.
Shinji sighed loudly and rolled his eyes. He looked up at the sky. Risa waited, holding back tears that threatened to fall.
"I don't see how this is going to work…but if you're happy—"
Risa threw her arms around him tightly and he chuckled defeated.
"Ah, you're so stubborn," he mused and she laughed and nodded into his haori.
Yoruichi watched Kisuke relax and sighed.
End Memory.
