Okay, you are allowed to kill me. It has been exactly a month since I posted this and I am sincerely sorry for that. I have excuses: Writer's block, busy with finals, busy with relatives and just... well lazy. I am deeply sorry, this won't happen again, I promise! The good news... went to my first ANIME CONVENTION!1 Holy crap, it. Was. Amazing! My parent's are letting me go back next year and me and all of my friends are gonna cosplay next time. I'm thinking of going as Jack Frost next year -not anime but I saw like 5 Jack Frost's at the con. At first, I was thinking of Rin from Blue Exorcist, but I wanted to start out easy, hence the Jack Frost. I'll probably cosplay as Rin in two years, after Jack. But it was amazing... sooooo many animes! I was in HEAVEN!
SpringFallionLettuce: Lizzie may or may not be cool this chappie :), but she may change! And sorry about Kaoru being there, I didn't want to, but you're right, he HAD to be somewhere. At least we know! Sorry for the wait, and... sorry for more suspense because there is more to come.
Lady Cocoa: ;) You my friend, can read my mind. Don't worry, you don't sound mean, my intention was just that! You'll see why soon! And the official ending is coming soon, I'm sad thinking about it :(
Murakami-kumiko: Hehehe, sorry for the late update! I'm glad you're happy though when I update!
Sister of the Crimson Dragon: Not fast anymore huh? And I guess you're right, authors do need breaks, I think a month was long enough? I would LOVE to do that to Makai, he might be my OC but I hate him, and the lich too who we will get to know more about soon!
Black Blood: Naw, I'll make sure Kaoru stays safe... I hope, my fingers decide that. He actually is a good actor, both he and his daughter (as a clue). Dude... Makai as Grandpa Rome in a suit! HHAHAHAHAHA That's perfect!
I-love-Train-Heartnet: Thanks! I love mystery novels a lot, and I really wanna write a novel when I grow up! So thank you! Just thanks for your whole review, it made me smile :)
El0ndon: Sorry for the late update, but it's here!
KARAYUAN: I can never be angry at you or any of my reviewers! In fact, truthfully, it was your review that got me to get up and grab my laptop today after rereading reviews, so I should thank you.
Disclaimer: I don't own Ouran High School Host Club or Black Butler
Didn't know? Didn't know? Why was he acting this way? Ciel rarely stopped himself from giving an order to his butler. There were only two times in his life where he told Sebastian to stop. The first was to make sure Madame Red wasn't killed by his butler (instead she was killed by that damn reaper). The second was when he was in Paris, France, Sebastian and that… angel… fighting. And Ciel ordered Sebastian to stop to make sure no attention was drawn their way.
Yet, he learned never to do that ever again after that time in Paris. He forced his servants to kill Pluto, he ordered Sebastian to burn down the mansion while he was trying to solve the case in the circus even though there were children still in there. And those were only a couple of examples that flew into Ciel's mind!
A slight shake of his head confused Makai greatly, the man's smile faltering a tiny bit. Ciel continued shaking his head with a smirk covering his lips, his eyes narrowed slightly. His silence turned into a small chuckle, his head still moving back and forth as if he was in disbelief. "Do you really think I care about that demon?" Ciel asked.
Makai's kind gaze –Ciel could easily see through the "sweet" act- turned into a glare directed at the young demon. "Then why did you pause in your order, Mr. Phantomhive?" Makai retorted back. His eyes showed confusion, disbelief, and even a hint of fear in them. Perfect.
"Who said I paused? You merely interrupted me," Ciel lied. Well… kind of. He was in the middle of giving the command when Makai made Ciel pause mid-sentence. In truth, Ciel really did pause to think about it when he never should have. Is he regretting that pause? Yes. He really was.
But… Makai couldn't see through the lie and he stepped back, his heel nearly hitting the foot of his desk.
The clicking from Kaoru's laptop didn't cease, even as Ciel coughed slightly, clearing his throat –in a more joking matter- and smiled, a malicious smile. One that Sebastian loved to see on his face, knowing that Ciel never lost that side of him and turned soft. "Sebastian," Ciel started over again, taking a couple of steps back to get out of the way, "This is an order, kill Makai!"
Sebastian's eyes flashed a bright magenta color as he bowed slightly, a "Yes, My Lord," escaping past his lips.
Makai's lips turned up in a scowl as he snarled under his breath, "You dare challenge me? A necromancer?"
Sebastian smiled, acting innocent –though he really wasn't even close to being innocent- and tugged on one of his gloves. "If the Young Master orders me to challenge you, then I listen. If the Young Master orders me to kill you, then I listen," Sebastian explained before leaping into action.
Staying on the sidelines, Ciel watched the battle, gazing at how Sebastian easily avoided one of Makai's attacks to freeze him in his spot. His demon butler learned from his past mistakes, his first battle with the necromancer. And Ciel knew that Sebastian would not fail this time.
They fought, Sebastian on the offensive as he used close hand techniques. He didn't want to stray far from the necromancer, giving the man enough time to use magic. But Makai was holding up very well… for a human that is. Ciel could see the faint red tint to his cheeks, how his mouth was slightly open, the longer the fighting went on, panting for air. His moves to block Sebastian's were becoming more and more forced and sluggish. The man tripped, quickly catching himself to raise one of his arms up to block an axe kick from the demon butler.
Makai wouldn't last much longer against Sebastian. Ciel could tell that this battle was going to end soon. "Dad," a faint whisper of worry came from behind him. That's right. Lizzie was in the room with them, watching the fight go on. Ciel didn't even look back as he smirked, sensing her raise one palm up to cover her mouth, eyes wide open in shock and fear.
"He's running out," Ciel spoke to her, glancing over his shoulder slightly to see her body tremble. "He won't last much longer against Sebastian." It was very amusing. To him at least. Here there was, this powerful necromancer, losing to a demon who learned the way the necromancer fought just from one battle. Makai wasn't so strong now.
Ciel turned his head even more to get a better glimpse of the scared girl. She was backed against the wall, her head shaking to the side lightly, not fully catching onto Ciel's words. It was weird. She led them here; she led Ciel and Sebastian straight to Makai without a problem. Unless…
Dammit. He never should have trusted her! Ciel fully turned around, his feet stomping down as he walked closer to Lizzie, looking up into her eyes. He growled at her, his hands clenching into fists as if he was about to punch the girl. He really wanted too right now, but he needed to know what was coming. "Tell me, Elizabeth. What is coming next? What did you lead us into exactly?" She gazed at him, her whole figure trembling as Ciel got even closer.
"I… I do-don't know wh-wh-what you're talking a-about," she stuttered, looking over Ciel's shoulder to look back at her father.
"Lies!" Ciel practically roared, grabbing the collar of Lizzie's outfit tightly in his hand, fingers curling around the fabric. He heard a grunt from Makai behind him, but Ciel was too busy to look behind him at the moment. "This is a-"
He wasn't even able to finish his sentence and threaten the girl before he was pushed to the side and up against the wall. Ciel gasped slightly in surprise, his fingers instinctively curling into the jacket of his butler who shielded him. His eyes were wide wondering what just happened. "Sebastian," he whispered, peering under the arms of Sebastian which held Ciel tightly up against the wall.
"Bochaan, head down," the butler said, looking over his shoulder too at the spot where Ciel stood moments before. Makai was on the ground, lying on his stomach as his head tilted up weakly. Blood drooled out of his mouth, streaming out of his nose as even more pooled around his stomach area. Sebastian must have done that too him.
He was wheezing, Makai, but he was smiling in triumph even though he lay dying on the floor of his office. A small laugh came from the necromancer as he mentioned, "It's over."
Ciel glanced over at where he once stood in front of Lizzie. She was still splayed against the wall, but she wasn't shaking anymore. Instead, a new look came into her eyes, a confident one as she smiled slightly, hands near her chest. Standing where Ciel once was, was a dark figure, a pure black clock masking the shadows that flowed out from the bottom.
A large scythe in hand, the figure turned slightly, the front of the hood displayed to Ciel. But there was only black. Ciel couldn't see any face, nothing, just pure black. He remembered this figure, back in the grocery store a while ago. It was the wraith. The one that attacked him and Sebastian before. The way he was holding its weapon proved to Ciel that if Sebastian didn't save him, Ciel would be either dead or severely injured.
"Perfect timing," Makai purred from his spot on the ground, a look of pure evil crossing his facial features, "Get them." The wraith glided over to Sebastian and Ciel, the formed pushed the latter to the side a bit. Sebastian stood ready, feet spread out about to pounce like a cat.
"Hurry and finish off that wraith, Sebastian," Ciel commanded, stepping farther back again, "Finish off both the wraith and the necromancer!"
He didn't hear his butler respond. Instead, the only sounds reaching his ears, were the clicks coming from a teenager typing away on the laptop, still in the same position from when Ciel barged into the room.
Short, yeah I know. But... the wraith is here! 'Gasps' How does one defeat a wraith! I know, I had to do boring research, actually it was interesting. You guys will learn how next chapter! Once again... sorry for the late review, I deeply apologize for that, I really do. My laptop is running out of battery, so I'm gonna wrap this up. It won't be a month when I update next, I promise! Bye you guys! Sorry once again!
~Sincerely H
