Gracie and Savannah's joint party was amazing. It was fit for a true princess. The girls of honor wore tiaras and beautiful dresses. Sookie did an amazing job on the cake. They looked lifelike.
Both girls were exhausted that night and fell asleep without taking their baths.
"Mommy what are you doing?"
"I'm getting your things ready for school next week."
"I don't want to go mommy." Gracie says hugging Rory.
"I know you don't baby but you'll have fun." Rory assures.
"I want to stay with you and Bennie." Gracie tells her.
"You'll only be gone for a little while and then I'll pick you up."
"No." Gracie says stomping her foot.
Rory chose to ignore that not wanting it to turn into a tantrum.
"Lets go check on your brother I think he's awake."
Gracie runs out of the room and over to Bentley's. She peeks into his crib smiling when she sees him up.
"Hi Bennie." She says rubbing his stomach.
Bentley turns his head to her voice and smiles at her.
"Hi baby boy." Rory says picking him up. She lays him on the changing table and changes his diaper.
He kicks his legs as Gracie makes faces at him making it difficult for Rory to fasten the clean diaper. He lets out a cheerful scream as Gracie plays peek-a-boo with him.
"All done wiggle worm." Rory says lifting him up.
She goes downstairs followed by Gracie. She places Bentley on his playmat and heads to the kitchen to get Gracie a snack.
"Don't pick up your brother." Rory calls to Gracie.
Bentley lays happily watching Gracie before he starts to fuss. He rams his hand into his mouth and starts to chew on it. When he realizes he's not getting what he wants from his hand he starts to cry.
"Mommy's coming Bennie." Gracie tells him.
Rory hurries into the room the see what's wrong.
"Here's your snack honey." Rory says handing Gracie a yogurt.
"Thank you mommy."
"You're welcome honey." Rory smiles. "Now what are you fussing about?" Rory asks the upset baby.
She picks him up and he starts to eagerly search for food. Satisfied when he gets what he wants Bentley stares up at Rory while he eats.
When both kids are done eating Rory takes them to the store. She lets Gracie pick out a backpack for school. Gracie picks out a pink ladybug backpack.
"What's this for?" Gracie asks of the backpack.
"That is for you to take to school next week."
"I don't want it." Gracie says putting it back on the shelf.
Rory takes the backpack and puts it in cart.
"No." Gracie yells. She climbs on the side of the cart and takes it back out throwing it on the floor.
"Mackenzie Gracie if you don't stop you will be getting a time out." Rory warns putting the bag back in the cart.
"I don't like you." Gracie tells her upset.
"That makes me sad to hear because I love you very much." Rory says knowing Gracie is upset and doesn't mean it. She continues to walk through the store getting the rest of the things on her list. Gracie walks beside Rory poking out her lip.
Gracie didn't know much about school but she did know she didn't want to have anything associated with it. When Bentley starts to fuss and cry Gracie takes the opportunity to take the backpack and put it on a shelf while Rory was calming her brother. When Bentley didn't calm Rory went to checkout so she could get him home. With an upset Bentley in her arms Rory doesn't even notice the backpack isn't in the cart.
At home Rory puts the bags in the stroller and carries Bentley while Gracie rides on the side attachment. Once inside Gracie runs off to play while Rory gets Bentley settled. With Bentley napping Rory unpacks the bags. As she gets to the last bag she notices something is missing.
"Gracie can you come here baby." Rory calls to her daughter.
"Yes mommy." She says when she comes into the room.
"I just finished unpacking the bags. Do you know what happened on your backpack?" Rory asks her daughter.
"I put it back." Gracie says looking down.
"Look at mommy." Rory tells Gracie. Gracie looks up at Rory with watery eyes. "I know you don't want to go to school but this is something you have to do." Rory tells Gracie.
"You mean mommy." Gracie yells running away from Rory.
Even though she knows Gracie doesn't mean it it still broke her heart. Deciding to give her some time to calm down Rory busies herself by putting her purchases away.
After about ten minutes she checks on Gracie using the video monitor in her room. When she sees the little girl playing with her dolls she sits down to read. Ten minutes into her book she hears Gracie making her way down the stairs.
"Mommy." Gracie says standing in front of her.
"Yes baby?" Rory says putting her book down.
"I sorry I be a bad girl." Gracie says looking down.
"I know you are baby." Rory says lifting Gracie to straddle her lap. "Do you want to tell me why you don't want to go to school?" She asks tucking some hair behind Gracie's ear.
"I scared."
"Why?"
"I don't want udder grandma to find me."
"Oh baby she's not going to find you." Rory says giving Gracie a hug.
"But you not going to be there and no daddy. No grandpa, no grandma and no papa." Gracie tells her. "I only there."
"You're going to have your teacher and you're going to make new friends there." Rory tells her.
"But I want you." Gracie says letting out a yawn.
"Why don't you take a nap and when you wake up we'll have lunch." Rory says.
Gracie rubs her eyes and lays her head on Rory's chest. Rory rocks in the chair and hums a soft song to Gracie. Gracie relaxes in Rory's arms and drifts off to sleep.
"Hello." Rory answers her phone.
"Hey Ace why are you talking so low?"
"Gracie is on my lap and she just fell asleep."
"I wanted to see how shopping went with her."
"Well she picked out a pink ladybug backpack and when she found out it was for school she put it back on the shelf. I put it in the cart and when I wasn't looking she took it out. Since Bentley was fussing I didn't notice until we got home. So now I have to go back to the store again."
"She's sneaky." Logan says.
"She said she doesn't want to go to school because she's afraid your mom is going to find her."
"I hate that she's still afraid my mom is going to get her." Logan says with a sigh. "She's three the biggest worry she should have is who she's going to play with at the park not her crazy grandmother getting her."
"I know."
"If you tell me the store and send me a picture of the backpack I'll get it on my way home so you don't have to go back." Logan offers.
"Okay." Rory tells him looking down at Gracie as she snuggles into Rory more.
"I'll see you when I get home babe. I love you."
"I love you too." Rory says ending the call.
Rory picks up her book and reads while both kids nap. Gracie stirs an hour later.
"Hi honey." Rory says giving the little girl a kiss.
Gracie smile at Rory and lets out a yawn.
"How about we see if Auntie Steph can watch Bentley and we can go have lunch just the two of us?" Rory says running her hand through Gracie's hair.
"Yes." Gracie says.
"Okay." Rory says giving Gracie a kiss. She gets her phone and calls Steph. "Hey Steph how are you?"
"I'm great. What's going on?"
"Gracie needs some mommy and me time. Would you mind watching Bentley while I take her out to lunch?"
"Of course I'll watch that handsome man." Steph says. "When are you going to bring him?"
"I'm going to feed him now and then head over there."
"Okay Savannah will be happy to play with him."
"Thanks Steph. We'll see you in about forty-five minutes."
"I'll see you then." Steph says.
When she hangs up Rory sends Gracie to use the bathroom while she feeds Bentley. When Bentley finishes Rory changes his diaper and packs a bag for him. She changes Gracie from her sweatsuit to a Burberry jumper dress and long sleeved shirt that Honor got for her with tights and her black boots.
"Are you ready to go love bug?"
"Yes mommy."
Rory gets their things and heads down to the car. With the kids buckled in she drives to Steph's.
"Hello you look beautiful." Steph says when she opens to door.
"Hi Auntie Stephy." Gracie says holding her arms up. When Steph picks her up Gracie gives her a kiss.
"Thank you honey."
"Hey Steph thanks for doing this." Rory says taking Bentley from his chair.
"Anytime." Steph smiles. "Where are you going for lunch?"
"I was able to get us in at the hibachi restaurant. She loves watching them cook ."
"Fun."
"Where's Savannah?"
"She's still napping."
"I guess we'll see her when we get back." Rory says. "Everything he needs is in his bag. He just ate so he should be fine. I packed a bottle just in case." Rory says. "I hate to drop him off and run but we have to get going."
"It's fine. Have fun with mommy." Steph tells Gracie.
"By Auntie Stephy." Gracie says giving her a kiss.
Steph puts Gracie down and takes Bentley from Rory. The baby smiles up at Steph and snuggles into her.
"Bye baby." Rory says giving him a kiss. "Time to go honey." Rory says taking Gracie's hand and walk to the door with Steph following.
"Mommy where we going to eat?"
"Remember the place where they cook the food in front of us?"
"Uh huh." Gracie says.
"We're going there."
"I like it there." Gracie says while Rory picks her up. "I love you mommy." She says giving her a kiss.
"I love you too baby so much." Rory hugs Gracie tight.
Rory drives up to the valet at the restaurant and gets out. She takes Gracie out and get her ticket from the valet before entering the restaurant.
Gracie has so much fun watching the man cook their food. She watches in awe as he does different tricks. He tosses a piece of chicken for Rory to catch with her mouth. Gracie claps when Rory catches it. He then throws one to Gracie. She opens her mouth but misses it. He tries again this time getting closer. Gracie catches it.
"I did it mommy." She says smiling.
"Good job honey." Rory smiles loving that Gracie is having such a good time.
Gracie and Rory both have a chicken and rice dish. After paying the bill they go to get the car.
"Thank you mommy." Gracie says to Rory while they are waiting for the valet to bring the car.
"You're very welcome angel."
"Hi Auntie Rory." Savannah says when Steph opens the door.
"Hi sweetie." Rory says bending to give the little girl a kiss.
"Benty do stinky." Savannah tells Rory.
"Did you change his diaper?" Rory asks jokingly.
"No mama do." Savannah says wrinkling her nose.
Gracie runs to Savannah's playroom with Savannah following closely behind.
"How was he?"
"He was perfect."
"Good." Rory smiles at Bentley in Steph's arms.
"How are you feeling about your baby girl starting school next week?"
"I'm a nervous wreak but I know this will be good for her." Rory tells Steph. "It's going to be hard because she keeps telling us she doesn't want to go."
"I'm sure once she adjusts she'll love it."
"I know she will it's just going to be hard leaving her while she's crying for me." Rory frowns. "But it's only three hours." She adds. "I was going to ask Mitchum to stay with Bentley while we drop Gracie off next week."
"He would like that."
"Mommy." Gracie says coming back into the room.
"Can Vannah come play with my toys?"
"If it's okay with Anutie Steph yes."
"Please Auntie Steph." Gracie says.
"Peas mama." Savannah adds.
"Are you sure you don't mind?"
"It's fine they'll end up in the playroom the whole time."
"Yes you can go but make sure you listen to Auntie Rory ."
"Yay!" Savannah cheers giving Steph a kiss.
"Go get your shoes honey." Steph tells her daughter.
Steph helps Rory get to the car with the kids. She puts Savannah's car seat in and buckles her into it.
"Be a good girl for Auntie Rory." Steph tells Savannah.
"Bye mama." Savannah says giving her a kiss.
"Bye Gracie have fun."
"Bye Auntie Steph." Gracie waves from her chair.
At the Huntzberger penthouse Rory gets all three kids inside. Gracie and Savannah head straight for the playroom. Rory settles Bentley on his playmat in the office so she could do some work. Everyone and a while she would look at the video monitor to check on the girls.
"Do you want a snack?" Rory asks the girls.
"Can I have goldfish?"
"Do you want goldfish too Savannah?
"Cheese tick." Savannah says.
"Okay." Rory take Bentley to get the snacks while Gracie and Savannah go to play.
As Rory is heading back up she hears Savannah start to cry. She quickly puts the snacks on Gracie's table in the office and lays Bentley on his mat.
"What's wrong honey?" Rory asks when she makes it to the playroom.
"Boo boo." Savannah cry walking to Rory asking to be held.
"Where?" Rory asks.
"Dare." Savannah says pointing to her leg.
Rory looks and sees she has a red mark on her leg.
"What happened?"
"She was trying to close that." Gracie tells Rory pointing to her jumbo princess Legos.
"Did you pinch your leg in the Legos?"
"Yes." Savannah says sniffling.
"It's okay sweetie." Rory says hugging her. "Lets go have your snack." Rory tells the girls walking over to the office.
Gracie happily sits to eat her snack. Savannah doesn't want to be put down yet so she sits on Rory's lap while she has her cheese stick. When they finish Rory changes Savannah's diaper and she goes to play with Gracie.
"Did we gain a daughter?" Logan asks when he gets home that evening and sees Savannah.
"Steph watched the baby while I took Gracie for lunch. She wanted to her to come over. Colin's picking her up."
"Hi daddy." Gracie says running to him.
"Hi princess." He says lifting her up and giving her a kiss and putting her back down. "Hi princess number two." He says to Savannah picking her up and giving her a kiss.
"Boo boo." She tells him pointing to her leg.
"What happened?"
"Wif Legos." Savannah tells him.
"Uh oh. Are you okay?"
"Yes."
"Dinners ready." Rory calls.
Logan rounds up the girls and helps them into their chairs. As they were finishing dinner the doorbell rings.
"Hey sorry I'm so late." Colin says when Logan opens the door.
"Don't worry about it." Logan says. "She's fed, washed and ready for bed." Logan says.
"Dada." Savannah says running and hugging his legs.
"Hi baby." He says picking her up. "I would have had Steph come get her but I wanted to talk to you and Rory about something." He says following Logan to the living room.
"Hi Uncle Colin." Gracie says giving him a hug.
"Hi sweetie." He says giving her a kiss. "Hi buddy." He waves to Bentley on Rory's lap.
"What did you want to talk to us about?" Logan ask as Gracie climbs on his lap.
"Our anniversary is in two months. I wanted to take her away for a long weekend as a surprise. Neither one of us feel comfortable leaving Savannah with either of our parents. I wanted to know if you wouldn't mind keeping her for us?" He asks. "We would leave Friday afternoon and come back Monday afternoon."
"Of course we can." Rory says. "Where are you going?"
"Steph's been hinting about going to Paris. I'm sure she'll drag me around shopping but she hasn't been anywhere since before Savannah was born."
"Your poor credit card." Rory says laughing.
"Don't I know it." He says. "Thanks for doing this."
"Anytime we love having her here." Logan says.
"I better get her home." He says smiling down at his sleeping daughter.
"I have the car seat from Steph's car." Rory tells him. "And she pinched herself when they were playing with the Legos so there's a mark on her leg."
"Okay. Thanks for having her."
"Anytime. It gave me a glimpse of what it'll be like to have three kids."
"Are you?"
"No." Rory answers quickly shaking her head.
"I'll go down with you." Logan says.
"I want to go too." Gracie says when Logan tries to put her down. She was comfortable in his arms and was starting to doze.
Logan puts a blanket over Gracie and grabs Rory's keys on the way out.
"Who would have thought this would have been us ten years ago? Both happily married with kids." Colin says while they were in the elevator.
"And I couldn't be happier." Logan says smiling as Gracie lets out a sigh and nuzzles her face into his neck.
Colin buckles Savannah into his car while Logan gets Savannah's other chair from Rory's car.
"Thanks." Colin says when Logan gives him the chair. He puts it in the back. "Bye Gracie." He says placing a kiss on her cheek.
"Bye." She says unable to keep her eyes open.
"She's asleep." Rory says when he comes back up.
"She was tired." He says handing her a bag.
"Thank you." She smiles
"So three kids." Logan says taking a seat next to her.
"I think one more would be a nice way to finish our family. But again not until Bentley is older. And if it's something we both want."
"I would have a dozen kids with you." He says excitedly.
"Calm down boy three's enough for me." She tells him.
"I'm going to put her in bed."
Rory goes to give Gracie a kiss.
"Goodnight baby girl sweet dreams. I love you." She turns to Bentley in her arms. "What about you buddy are you ready for bed?" She asks. "I think you are." She tells him when he lets out a big yawn.
She stands and goes upstairs. She changes the baby into a clean diaper and settles on the bed to nurse him. Logan comes in as the baby is finishing.
"I'll burp him." He says taking him from Rory.
When Bentley lets out a burp Logan carries him to his nursery and lays the sleeping baby in his crib.
"Why did you put him in there?" Rory asks confuse.
"Because I want to spend some adult time with my wife." He says getting in the bed and pulling her into a deep kiss.
"When we're done you're bringing him back in here. I'm not walking all the way over there when he wakes up for a feeding."
"Deal." Logan says slipping his hand under her shirt.
