Finn woke up next to Amanda, panting from the battle.
They stared around them, kind of happy to be back in their room.
"We failed," Finn said.
"We all did," said Amanda.
Suddenly, they heard an earsplitting scream coming from the living room. Jess' scream.
They burst into the other room, following the others. Henry was holding Jess bridal style and Jess was screaming and turning purple.
"What happened!?" Amanda exclaimed.
"Before we could escape, Rattlesnake Jake bite her and poisoned her," Henry said.
"Oh no!" Willa cried.
"Is she going to die?" asked Maybeck.
"She will if we don't do something!" Henry said.
Jess coughed up blood.
"Use…your…magic," Jess groaned.
Henry gulped. He had the magic to heal her, but he didn't want to let the others know he had it.
"What did she say?" asked Philby.
Henry sighed. He was going to do it.
"Stand back guys," Henry said. "I'm going to heal her."
"Heal her!?" Finn cried out.
"Just watch," said Henry.
His hands began to glow and he waved them up and down over Jess' body. She stared at his hands, and her skin that was turning gray began to turn peach again.
When Henry was done, Jess sat up, all healed.
"You did it Henry!" Jess exclaimed. "You healed me!"
Henry smiled as Jess tackled him and kissed him.
He looked up at the keepers. They all had shocked looks.
"Hi…" he said sheepishly.
"You know magic!?" Charlene exclaimed.
"Yes," Henry sighed. "Before I left the Overtakers, I stole one of their spellbooks that had some of the most powerful spells in it."
"How did you learn that many so fast?" asked Finn.
"I simply burned the book, put the ashes in a drink and drank it," Henry explained.
"And it worked!?" Amanda asked.
"Eating paper ashes wasn't tasty, but it was worth it," said Henry.
Everyone laughed. Finn then yawned.
"Come on guys," Finn said. "Let's go back to bed. I've had a rough night."
"I almost got run over by a train," said Maybeck.
"I was almost killed by a psycho serial killer," said Willa.
Everyone laughed and then went back to their rooms, leaving Jess and Henry in there.
Henry lay awake for a while.
Suddenly he felt a hand wrap around his chest. It was Jess.
"Jess?" Henry asked.
"You saved me tonight so many times," she whispered.
"My pleasure," said Henry.
Suddenly Jess was on top of him.
"I want to reward you," Jess said.
"What?" asked Henry.
Jess suddenly removed her tank top and pants, now only in her underwear.
"Take me!" Jess yelled and fell on top of him kissing him.
Henry was surprised, but then he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her back.
The kissed repeatedly, and Henry removed his shirt. Jess snuggled on top of Henry and kissed her. Then he too removed his pants and was in only his underwear.
"This is all your getting!" Henry whispered.
"I know," said Jess. "I don't want to go further."
Henry smiled and continued to kiss her.
They made out for so long, hugging each other repeatedly.
After a while, they stopped. Both of them lay next to each other and panted.
They looked at one another and smiled.
"Jess," Henry said. "There is something I want to give you."
"What?" asked Jess.
Henry told Jess to sit on her knees and hold her hands out.
He sat on his knees and held Jess' hands. He then began to whisper something silently.
"What are you doing?" asked Jess.
"I'm using a spell that allows me to transfer any magic spell or power I learned to another person," Henry said. "And I have the perfect one for you."
He finished speaking the spell and then Jess felt energy flow through her.
"What spell did you give me?" Jess asked.
"I gave you a spell that allows you to transfer your dreams, thoughts, and past memories to anyone," Henry said. "All you have to be doing is touching them physically, and then you can transfer them."
Jess smiled happily.
"For me?" she asked.
"I want you to always share your dreams and thoughts with me," Henry said. "We are soul mates."
Jess smiled and hugged Henry tightly.
Henry smiled.
"It's the least I can do for all the help I've given," he said in his mind. "All I hope is that she never finds out and nothing ever sets us apart."
He smiled happily and then they fell asleep on top of each other.
My first Hess chapter! I loved it and I hope you do. Anyway, the keepers returned in failure, and now what will happen? Is the trigger ready to be activated? Stay tuned to find out!
