Lake Bottom

Grovyle watched as his partner flew across then lake then was plunged into the depth of the lake. Grovyle wondered how she would breath and was answered in his head "Don't worry friend she has air to breath" Uxie told him. "But won't it run out" Grovyle called with his mind. "Of course it will I cannot supply her with air forever" Uxie answered. "Can't you just pull her out of the water" Grovyle asked. "I wish it were that easy" Uxie sighed. "What do you mean" Grovyle felt the heat of rage bubbling inside of him. "Don't you know" Uxie asked but then answered himself "No of course not, how could you". "What are you talking about" this time Grovyle yelled aloud.

Despite Grovyle's display of angry Uxie remained calm "If you break the connection while she's having a Dimensional scream it could be" Uxie broke off trying to find the right word then continued "Hazardous". "What" Grovyle yelled. "Humans aren't as strong as Pokémon Grovyle, although their willpower and emotions can be stronger at times they are still weak" Uxie stated bluntly. Grovyle felt as if Eve had been insulted and wasn't here to defend herself "Eve is not weak she is the strongest person I know" Grovyle shouted his clawed hands coiled into fists. Uxie seemed to smile even though he was so far away Grovyle knew he was smiling. "If you believe she is strong than trust that she is" Uxie advised him.

Eve opened her mouth and took a deep breath in but the air she breathed seemed flat and lifeless. Eve's eyelids flicker and she looked around, she was still underwater. Eve covered her mouth with her hands but air still escaped from her bubbling up to the surface. Her lungs screamed for air but when she took another breath, half of what she breathed was flat air and the other half was cold water. Eve coughed and breathed again but this time her lips met with only water and her sight dimmed as she sped toward the surface. It seemed to take years for her to get close to real air but before she was freed from the icy cold grip of the lake water. Her eyes closed and she fell into darkness drowning in the waves of her mind.

"You legendries always speak in gibberish" Grovyle commented crossing his arms. At that moment Uxie turned and started floating towards him and he came closer Grovyle saw Eve emerge from the water. Her body hung limp in the air and her eyes were closed. Uxie reached Grovyle and floated above his head as he lay Eve on the hard ground. She was dripping with cold water and her shallow breaths were few. "What's wrong with her" Grovyle asked quickly. "I believe she breathed in water instead of air" Uxie told him. "What can we do" Grovyle asked him. "You can stand back" Uxie said floating down toward Eve's body. He placed one slender hand in the middle of Eve's fore head between the eyebrows. The gem encrusted in Uxie's fore head glowed for a short while and when the glow faded Eve spluttered and coughed up some water then lay back.

Her breathing was stronger now, steadier and less wheezy. Uxie floated to the ground and sat down "Now all she needs is rest" he said his voice weary. "Thank-you" Grovyle exclaimed much more calm now. "No need" replied Uxie "besides if you're looking for the Time Gears for the reason I think you are the then whole world should thank-you both, for your quest is brave and selfless" he said honourably as he lifted himself off the ground and started to float away. He turned back quickly to add "If she wishes to speak with me tell her all she has to do is call" and he was gone fading away as he glided in to the distance.

Grovyle looked back down at Eve who was shivering from the water all over her. He pulled her brown jacket free of her body and built a fire to warm her up. Eve stirred and rolled to one side and her eye's cracked open. She abruptly closed them again but opened them again moments later and blinked a couple of times while they adjusted to the light. Eve sat up swiftly and looked over the fire at Grovyle sitting on the other side "What happened" she asked rubbing her temple with one hand. "I think I should ask the questions but I'll answer you first" he said looking at Eve across the fire. "Hmm let's see you came out of the water half drowned, Uxie saved you then you slept and now your awake, do you understand" he asked mockingly.
