Kai glanced at Samantha warily as she dangled her feet precariously off the edge of the roof. The empty bottle next to her clinked slightly as she put another one down next to it; he hadn't thought someone of her size could have that much alcohol and still remain conscious.
He had found her on the roof of the hotel barely an hour ago, after looking for her everywhere he could think of. Finally, Dranzer had taken pity on him and told him she could sense Vera still inside the hotel. After that, getting her to talk to him hadn't been as difficult as he had expected, especially after he had offered her a drink.
"You should go back inside," he said finally. Samantha looked at him blankly, then burst into a fit of giggles. Kai rolled his eyes. "Rissa, you're drunk."
"At least I'm a happy drunk," she snickered. "What do you do when you've had too many shots, Kai? Try to pick up girls? Cry? Smile?"
"I don't get drunk," he answered coolly. She snorted. He resisted the urge to shake her. "Get up. Its late."
"Stop acting like my mother," she said the word like it was an insult, then suddenly closed her eyes and held up one finger, as if deep in thought. "Oh wait," her eyes opened wide. "I don't know what that's even like. My mom's dead," she exploded into giggles again.
'Perhaps this situation requires force,' Dranzer offered her counsel as Kai stared at Samantha's laughing form.
'You want me to hit her?'
Dranzer did the bit-beast equivalent of a face-palm and huffed. 'Honestly, young master, you are incredibly dense.'
Shut up. "Move," said Kai finally. He ignored Samantha's snickering and grabbed her arm roughly. She didn't resist and allowed him to help her stand. Three seconds were enough to convince Kai that she wasn't going to be able to make it down six floors without creating an incident. Without any prior warning, he grabbed her around her waist and threw her over his shoulder.
Samantha shrieked. "What do you think you're-"
"Shut up," his answer was short. She huffed, but the alcohol diffused her temper. She tapped out meaningless tunes against his shoulder blades as he proceeded to carry her towards the exit of the roof.
!
Samantha smiled giddily as she gazed up at the stars. She couldn't remember how much she'd had to drink, but it was a sizeable amount. Kai had probably had just as much, but he wasn't drunk. That should annoy her, but it didn't. He was hot. She giggled.
'Perhaps you should sleep now,' Vera's voice sounded incredibly loud in her head, but still soothing.
I don't want to.
'You should, youngling. You have consumed too much alcohol.'
Don't care. Her reply was saucy as well as mischievous. She could almost see Vera roll her eyes.
'Very well, youngling. I will see you in the morning.'
Bye bye, Vera. She grinned to herself and continued to look up at the stars. It was going to be a long night.
!
'You've been acting ridiculously for days now, Kai. Go to sleep. Your mind needs rest.'
Kai groaned as Dranzer left his mind. She'd been keeping the head-ache away, but it was back now. He glanced at his reflection in the mirror; even drunk, he had to admit he didn't look bad. He wondered what she would say to that…
Samantha. She was here; he could see arm dangling off the railing outside on the balcony, tracing invisible patterns in the air. He desperately needed the fresh air, but he was sure he'd do something stupid. She was as drunk as he was, if not more. He highly doubted she had the control that came with practice that he did. But what was stopping him from going outside anyway?
I'm drunk. Whatever I'm thinking, it isn't me. He'd just keep telling himself that, and he'd be fine. Glancing at his reflection again, he grabbed his jacket and walked out of the room.
!
She knew he was there before she heard the door close. The alcohol seemed to have strengthened her senses rather than dull them. She was acutely aware of Kai standing next to her, leaning on the railing. He was closer than he had to be, and she suddenly felt cold. Her dress was thin, not very suitable for the current weather. She suppressed a shiver, watching him curiously out of the corner of her eye. His jacket was unbuttoned and his white shirt's first few buttons were undone, as if he'd been undressing but had changed his mind midway. His hands were clamped onto the metal bars of the railing. It took her a few seconds to see that he was holding on much tighter than necessary.
She didn't know what made her do it, but she did. She gently put her hand on his and one by one, eased his fingers off of the rod. His grip was like the death-lock, but he didn't resist her advances. But when his hand was free, he didn't let her go. Somehow, their fingers molded themselves together, so they were intertwined. As if they had to be entwined together. Samantha looked up at him and saw the expression in his eyes. She immediately realized something. He wasn't as drunk as she'd expected. He seemed to be in control of everything he was doing and what he was doing right now was coming dangerously close to her face.
She was glad Cleo and Tala had decided to spend the night together; it left the whole suite empty and just now, she wasn't sure if she could stand being away from Kai for very long. She didn't even try to move, not that he would have let her. They didn't care who made the first move; as soon as their lips met a lot of things happened at once.
It was as if Samantha had just received an adrenaline injection. Heat rushed through her body, warming her from her face to the very tips of her toes and fingers. His kiss was like a shot of Vodka; she had no idea what she was doing for a few seconds. Her hands shook, her head swam and she felt dizzy. She realized what was happening soon enough though, and she was in no mood for it to end.
Samantha clung to him desperately, her hands holding onto fistfuls of his shirt, knowing that soon he'd realize what he was doing and pull back. But he didn't seem to care. He braided his fingers through her long hair, fusing their mouths together. He was in complete control, and she wasn't even fighting it. His free hand rested on her waist, holding her up. Her knees were trembling; she didn't know how long she'd be able to stand.
Finally, it happened. He pulled back, very slightly at first, then completely. But he didn't remove his hand from her hair. Samantha reached up so her lips still brushed his faintly. He let out a sound that sounded suspiciously like a growl and captured her mouth again, savoring her taste. The kiss was searing; Samantha was forced to pull away to avoid bruising her lips.
Kai breathed heavily and finally spoke. "People can see us here," his voice was hoarse.
She opened her eyes. "I didn't think of that."
"I'm sure you didn't," he let her go at that, and she dropped her hands in surprise. He walked back inside, and almost automatically she followed. She had barely stepped inside when he pushed the sliding window close roughly and pinned her against the wall.
"Kai, what-" she didn't get a chance to finish. He was kissing her again, this time more urgently. She forgot what she was going to say and concentrated on the feel of his lips against hers. His arm was around her waist again, cushioning her back against the hard wall. Suddenly, his lips moved to her neck, and Samantha took advantage of that to catch her breath. Now, he became incredibly gentle. He pressed a kiss to the nape of her neck, then worked his way towards her collarbone. Then he went back to her neck and repeated the process all over again. After a few seconds of that, Samantha's chest was heaving as she tried to regain control over herself again.
"Stop me now," his voice was hoarse, abrupt, his lips still pressed against her skin. "If you don't tell me to let you go now, Rissa, I swear I won't."
"Then don't," she gasped out. He pulled back. She tugged at the hair at the nape of his neck. "You don't have to let me go, Kai."
"You're drunk," his tone was monotone, but his face came closer at her words.
"Not as much as you'd think," she murmured, accepting the soft kiss he gave her.
"I won't take advantage of you."
"But I'm asking you to stay."
"You won't be asking me to stay tomorrow."
"I'm not heartless. I did miss you, you know," she knew she sounded desperate and clingy, but she didn't care. Kai didn't seem to care either. He gave her another soft kiss and sighed against her lips.
"I should go."
"I don't want you to."
"What will happen once you remember the reason we fought in the first place?" his lips twitched into a slightly sardonic smile.
"I do remember."
"Then why do you want to do this?" even as he questioned her, his fingers deftly pushed the sleeve of her dress off her shoulder so he could pepper it with kisses.
"Because I'm tired of holding back," she replied. Her voice shook.
Kai looked at her. "I didn't want to hurt you, Rissa, but you didn't trust me enough. You know that."
"I'm trusting you now."
"To do what?"
"To make me forget why I was angry."
"I didn't know it worked that way."
"It can now," she tugged him in for another kiss, this one even more heated than the last. He obviously got the message. His hands went to the back of her dress and fiddled with the zipper. Samantha threw caution to the wind and began to unbutton his shirt, making no move to stop him. Kai's movements became bolder, running over her curves and finally coming to rest at either side of her neck. He pulled back for a second and gauged the look in her eyes. Samantha knew that though her eyes were bloodshot, her intention was clear as day.
Kai understood. "Don't hate me for this," was all he said before backing her into the closest bedroom. As soon as the back of Samantha's knees made contact with the bed, she knew there was no going back. And she was okay with that; there was not a single cell in her body that didn't explode with passion when Kai's lips met hers once again.
Well... drunk sex wasn't what we all expected, but I let myself get a little carried away and this was long overdue anyway. The tension was just killer!
