Annabeth's POV
I walked up to the Chase Estate front door, hand and hand with Percy.
Looking up at his handsome, I couldn't believe he was alive. He'd given up his life for me, and now he was probably going to be killed again by my parents.
He explained what had happened when he went to ask my mother and father for a treasured item of mine, and how they had acted with strong hate towards him, yet he didn't seem nervous to be back at their door.
"Ready?" I asked him, giving his hand a squeeze.
Percy grinned and nodded, squeezing my hand back. "Absolutely."
With my free hand, I knocked on the door, hoping my brothers would answer and not one of the servants.
"ANNABETH!" Bobby shrieked in delight, leaping forward and flinging his arms around my waist, making me stagger back a step.
Almost immediately, Matthew and my parents had come running. They embraced me in a lung-crushing hug, laughing and crying and asking if I was alright.
"I'm fine, I promise," I reassured my dad, who looked into my face, before hugging me again.
Slowly, Mom turned to stare at Percy. "You bought her back."
"I said I would," Percy responded, unwavering against Athena's steely eyes. "I don't break my promises."
"He saved my life," I put in, again taking a hold of the pirate's hand.
Mom and Dad looked dumbstruck, while the twins looked up at Percy in wonder.
"I don't approve of this," Athena started to say.
I cut her off. "It doesn't matter if you approve or not."
Frederick frowned. "We only want what's best fo-"
"Then you'll let me stay with him." I gripped Percy tighter.
Mom raised a delicate eyebrow and told the twins to go inside. They reluctantly did so, glancing back at me.
"You love him?" Athena inquired. "You love this pirate?"
I rolled my eyes, looking apologetically at Percy, who seemed to be brimming with anger at being spoken about like that.
"Yes, I do love him."
Mom and Dad regarded Percy with scrutiny, and he matched their gaze with a glare.
"We should have you arrested, Percy Jackson." Frederick snarled.
Percy smirked. "Do that and you'll sentence your own daughter to a hanging."
"Excuse me?" Their eyes widened.
"You know what I mean," Percy grin broadened at the horrified looks on my parents face.
I looked down at my feet and they turned their eyes on me.
"Please, don't tell me you're a pirate," Frederick said slowly.
I bit my lip. "I'm sorry, Dad."
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Mom turn on Percy in a fury.
"No! Its not Percy's fault! It was my decision," I intervened before Athena could throw her wrath on Percy.
"Why?" Dad whispered in poorly concealed disappointment.
I met hi parents. "I want to live my own life. I don't want any more corsets and dresses and arranged marriages. I wanted to be with Percy."
"Listen, Mr and Mrs Chase," Percy spoke. "Annabeth is a grown, and should be free to make her own choices."
"I just came to say goodbye." My eyes started to brim with tears.
Seeing me on the brink of crying, Mom softened slightly, stepping forward to hold me. She wrapped her arms around me in her familiarly warm embrace, and I remembered how close we had been before I was kidnapped by Percy's crew.
Dad joined the hug, leaving Percy to watch awkwardly.
"I don't want to let you go, Annie," Dad whispered. "But we couldn't make you stay, could we?"
I shook my head wordlessly. Nothing could keep me from Percy now that I'd gotten him back.
"Will you tell Bobby and Matthew," I asked. There was no way I could say goodbye to my brothers. Their big eyes would look at me pleadingly, begging me not to go.
Mom nodded, letting go and wiping a tear from her cheek.
She and Dad made Percy swear to look after me, and he put his arm around my shoulders and promised.
Then, we turned around, back to the fence where we would sneak out of the estate and make our way back to the Princess Andromeda.
"Are you okay?" Percy asked, hugging me from behind and resting his chin on my head.
I leaned into his toned chest, breathing in the scent of the ocean.
As we floated in the moonlight, the water reflected perfectly in Percy's beautiful sea-green eyes. The breeze ruffled his raven hair, and he gripped me tighter, shielding me from the cold.
"I'm fine," I replied, turning my head to kiss him on the cheek.
But Percy turned his head and met my lips with his. Immediately, I turned around in his arms, putting my hands behind his neck and pulling him down towards me. He stooped to my level, holding me close. His lips were salty, his hair soft as I ran my fingers through it.
"Perce," I whispered against him, burying my face into his neck when he finally pulled away.
With one hand on the small of my back and the other behind his head, he held me so that our bodies were molded perfectly into each others.
"I love you," I said with a smile.
Percy rested his forehead against mine and looked at me. The corner of his mouth turned up in that adorable lop-sided smile.
"I love you."
I leaned up and kissed him again, standing on my toes even though he was still hunched over.
I repeated those beautiful three words again, loving the way saying them to Percy made my heart jump. Each time, Percy would kiss me and reply, his grin growing wider and wider.
Omigosh PERCABETH! Oh the FEELS!
I promise that this isn't quite the end.
Please R&R! We've almost got 820!
