Seth got up and started for the dungeon door, ignoring Gavin. He blended in with the shadows near the entrance and when Warren came out, Seth slipped quietly in. "Peter?" Seth said. The dungeon was extremely quiet. Seth didn't need to yell to find which cell Peter was in.
"Huh?" Peter's puzzled voice responded. Seth made his way to the cell in which the sound came from, his footsteps echoing loudly. Since Seth had been back at the house, he had been working on his strength with Hugo. He is not the boy now that he was leaving to Kendra's rescue. Good-sized mussels ripped up his arms and his no longer scrawny legs are bulky and powerful. Being a shadow charmer also gave him more than human strength compatibility. His style of clothing had changed as well. Seth wore lots of black and everything was really baggy, so baggy no one could tell Seth's new muscular body unless he took his shirt off. With a well placed push kick, Seth drove the ball of his foot near the lock of the door. It cracked and caved in. There is a magic protecting monsters form breaking out, but nothing for shadow charmers breaking in. Peter was in the back of the cell, obviously scared from the booming sound.
"It's okay" Seth said "I'm not gonna hurt you." Peter eased up just a little. He stood and took a few steps to Seth, but still defending himself in case of an attack.
"What are you?" Peter asked "You are defiantly not mortal." Peter's fists were clenched and still spoke in a high voice.
"I'm a shadow charmer." Seth said. "And you are a merman….that's not weird." he finished sarcastically.
"I know, it's not everyday you run into a merman. And technically, I'm half merman. I only have a tail underwater, when I want to." Peter said. His reddish brown hair was a very unnatural looking shade. Almost like the color of a leaf in fall when it is turning red, but then dries and turns brown, but it was darker than that.
"That's cool I guess," Seth said, he had gained more courage on his quest as well, but it was a different kind, it isn't shown on the surface until now. "Since it is not everyday I meet a merman, maybe we should, make the most of it." Seth was leaning slightly against the chamber wall, discretely flexing.
"Are you implying that we um… go on a date?" Peter asked nervously.
Seth's internal struggle gnawed at him from the inside. Seth asked himself What if Peter isn't gay? he tried to play it cool. "If that is what you want me to be implying" Seth finally said, and Peter gave a sly grin.
"Well, when do we start?"
