A/N: Okay before we start I never really got to thank all of those reviewers that I had for giving me the support and encouragement to go on. I'll be honest I'm still new to all this so I'm rather surprised with all the support I've gotten up till this point. If anything has kept me going and pushing myself it's this community on this website, not only do the people help each other with constructive criticism but at times it brings people together to make friends that they might not ever meet in person. At first I was writing this story for kicks and giggles but now I write for all of those who read it, so thank you everyone who reads, followed, favorite, and actually likes this story. Anyways onwards to the story, later.

Chapter 15: A Race to the Emerald Part 1

Berk:

Hiccup, Toothless and Sonic were at the top of the mountain getting ready for the race when Astrid came up. "So you guys are getting ready to race, while we need to get Sonic's emerald?" She asked. "Yup, it's a race to the emerald, since it's a sneak in sneak out mission Hiccup and I were going to go around the back while you and everyone else distracted everyone else at the front." Sonic explained. "Yup that way it's gets done really fast." Said Hiccup. "Alright I'll go get everyone ready then." Astrid said. "Great!" The boys said in unison.

Race Starts in 5 … 4 … 3 … 2 … 1 … 0 GO!

Hiccup and Toothless dived down while Sonic ran down the edge of the mountain. They went through the lower forest dodging trees and rocks and boulders in their path. They left the forest and made it into the village, Hiccup and Toothless went above the buildings as they watched Sonic jump roof to roof until the dived down the cliff at the end of the village where Sonic ran down it. Once they were near the water Hiccup had Toothless pull up and splashed all around, Sonic at first looked terrified but realizing his rep. was on the line he took it like a man and started running across the water as a blue aura surrounded him. Hiccup was truly amazed by this as Sonic actually went past Toothless and went ahead of them. As they raced to the first check point they dodged blue ocean dragons and occasionally the sticking out pillars but nevertheless they dodged and flew or ran by everything in their path. They got to the first checkpoint which was an Island with a volcanic looking mountain and decided to take a break.

"So where are we?" Asked Sonic. "Dragon Island, it's actually the island where Toothless and I had our first major battle." Hiccup explained. "Oh Cool." Sonic replied, he sat down and look out to the horizon of the bright of mid-day and thought to himself. "What's on your mind?" Hiccup asked. "Ah nothing you probably wouldn't understand." Sonic said, there was a pause. "Try me." Hiccup said, Sonic looked at him, then down, then at the horizon again. "*Sigh* Alright." Sonic said as he and Hiccup sat down on the beach. He explained what happened since the begging of this story.

With Twilight, Spike, and Shadow:

"Well any progress yet?" Shadow whispered to Spike. Twilight was still sitting at the table across the room while Spike and Shadow cooked fish for lunch. "Sadly I don't think so." Spike whispered back. "She has been at this for hours why can't she decide right now?" Shadow was getting impatient. "Why couldn't Sonic?" Spike asked. Shadow sat and thought for a moment but when he was about to speak spike intervened. "Girls are more complicated than one thought to the next, they can't decide what they want half the time and neither can dudes, it's just a way of life, and it's all a part of growing up." Spike explained. "And you know all this how?" Asked Shadow. "Experience and books, I've been studying all types of science within the past five years." Spike answered. "So then you know how-" "Yes Shadow I know how that is done, I've officially lost all innocence since then."

Twilight cut in there. "Can you boys not talk about stuff like that right now?" she asked. "Sure thing uh sorry about that." Spike said. "So have you made up your mind yet?" Shadow asked. "No and it's bugging me to the core." Twilight said. "Have you asked yourself all those questions?" Shadow asked. "Yes but …" Twilight couldn't finish. "Hmm … Twilight how do you feel?" "Like a dying pony cause I can't figure this out." Shadow looked to his side and put his hand on his chin. "Okay forget about what's going on right now, but focus on right now Sonic hasn't been around us for the past few hours, how do you feel about that?" Twilight stood up and paced around a bit so she could forget about the current situation. "I miss him and I feel lonely right now." Shadow took out a notepad and pencil and jotted that down. "Okay you haven't seen Flash for the past five months and you've only been seeing him like what every once and a while, that's like almost twice a year, how do you feel about that?" Shadow asked. Twilight sat back down. "I feel like he could've done better at being around, but I understood because he is in the royal guard or at least that's what I told him." She put her head on the table. "Look Twilight I'm not going to make you choose anything so you take your time and Spike and I will be here when you made your decision." Shadow explained.

Mobius:

Tails was almost done with Metal he just had to go out to the store to get a few bits and pieces. He was in the checkup line when he heard a loud thundering sound just outside. He dropped his groceries and quickly ran out the door to see what it is. When he got to see what was going on he didn't like what he saw. Two Black Arms Soldiers and Black Doom were right in front of him. "What how is this possible Shadow got rid of you a long time ago." Tails confronted. "Matters not at the moment, but you are needed to help me find Shadow and Sonic, or your world as you know it will burn." Doom said. Tails was very frightened and had no idea what to do so he took him to his lab and fired the Dimension Connector Eggman made at the begging to this story.

A/N: Doom is back and on the hunt for Sonic and Shadow, what does he want with them? Will Twilight ever make up her mind, who will win the race, will they get the emerald back from the Outcasts and Berserkers? Tune in next time to find out.
