I would like to thank komettkami for helping me make this chapter. In the first chapter we were lead to believe Josh's mother has been killed. Well now that we think about it I wrote that Digidestined's cannot be killed by anything except other Digidestined's. Enjoy.

Icedevimon was going to have to kill him, but knowing Josh even that wouldn't stop him. Icedevimon had become too much of a pain, and it was time that they showed him how Digidestined and Digimon handled evil. It was time. Gwen was going to get that creset, but Josh felt like someone special was on his side. He looked at the crest, but it was no longer there. Instead stood his mother, and a pink birdlike Digimon. Josh was in complete shock. To move was out of the option. She looked at him and smiled. The tears of joy in her eyes were more than visible. Even Icedevimon felt it. Still, there was a job that needed to be done, and it needed to be done at that moment. Josh's mother raised her digivice and the bird said it, "BIYOMON DIGIVOLVE TO… BIRDRAMON!"

Although Icedevimon was shocked, to say the least, he still attacked. But his Avalanche Claw attack just wasn't enough for the Meteor Wing that Birdramon used to dissipate his power. The smile on Josh face reassured his mother that everything was going well. Then her digivice turned pink. "BIRDRAMON DIGIVOLVE TO… GARUDAMON!" Icedevimon tried his Frozen Claw attack, but Garudamon just slapped his hand away. Clearly she faced stronger evils in the past. "Phoenix Claw" Garudamon yelled as she slashed Icedevimon. It was finally time to end his reign of terror. So that is what Garudamon did. Icedevimon turned into a digiegg right before their eyes.

Josh was just in complete disbelief. He must have fallen on his head. He must be going crazy. That monster that had been nothing but a pain had just been effortlessly defeated. But that wasn't the best part. His mother was standing right there. Right in front of him. He couldn't find the words. He couldn't speak. However he didn't have to. She approached him, and when she looked into his eyes everything became clear. Even though the evil that Icedevimon produced was just a fraction as to what was going to happen he got to see his mother. Not only that but his best friend got to see her too. She looked into his eyes for what seemed like a century, and that is what he wanted.

She turned back into the crest of love, and he felt the amount of love that it gave off. He also felt the crest of courage. He felt both in his heart. The colors pink and red began to surround the pair as they appeared back with their team. Everyone there felt the embrace of love, and the fire of courage. They knew that whatever obstacle they were going to face it was no match for them.

The attack, it came out of nowhere. It seems like every time something starts to go their way, things change. But that is not the problem, the problem is that Josh was scared. Although he hates saying that, but at this moment there just were no other words. The sky, it just tore open. Then it descended from what appeared to be a completely different world. Everything there was black. Not only did he see it all but he felt it too. That place was filled with so much pain. He could not help but fall to his knees and burst into tears. Actually they all did. They cried so much that they began to create migrains.

They saw the horns that stemmed from out of its hood. They saw the eyes that scared them more than death itself. At first it was in the sky then it seemed to come closer. Little did they know that it wasn't getting closer, rather it was growing. Which made these heroes cry harder, and made paralyzed them in pure fear. It got to the point where their entire bodies were in pain.

Although their heads were throbbing that thing felt like their pain was not good enough. It laughed. And at that moment they all notice their new surroundings. Then the thing spoke. Its voice was like no other evil that they had ever heard. It said, "Welcome." Never did those words ever sound more terrifying. Of course Lanny was the first to speak. Somehow he knew just what the gang was up against. He knew where they were too.

"You guys! STOP! This is no time to cry. That is what it wants. That is what this place wants. Everything here just wants all of this. He wants all of this." He then pointed to that being. "I refuse to be afraid of you, Daemon."

"Why are all humans I encounter so stupid!" His voiced echoed in their heads in thousands of different ways: each one scarier than the last. "Well, I do not care if you already know who I am. I will still introduce myself. The name is Daemon. A friend of your parents, Josh." Those blood red eyes stared right into Josh's soul. They shot through every second of Josh's life, and made each happy memory scary and the scary ones scarier.

Josh grabbed his digivice, but it did not matter. The power of the Digidestined was not flowing through his body. It honestly did not matter. Daemon was able to tear open the sky. Even attempting to fight a Digimon that power would be futile. Sandy needed a cigarette, and she needed one bad. Even she was afraid at that moment. They had each other, but even that would not be enough to stop this monster. They have gone up against some evil Digimon, but this guy could snap his fingers and everyone would be dead. So that made Sandy think. She approached Daemon. "You could kill us. You tore the sky apart, and dragged us into this godforesaken place. Why have you not killed us?" As they all looked at her in astonishment, he laughed.

"Of course you guys would be dead, but there are two reasons that you are not: the darkness that plagues each of you, and I want to have some fun." His cloak quickly vanished and he said fun, and what appeared seemed like anything but. His appearance was freakier than it was before. If Josh wasn't so sure that he would never sleep again he would think that nightmare would plague him forever, even in death. Which was sure to come sooner than expected. So, what did Daemon mean when he said they all had darkness? Sure they all had their own sob stories, that was no secret. That thought was in all their heads. Too much was going on at the time. They didn't even realize that they were alone. And the term alone has never been used so accurately. They were all separated, and without Digimon. It seemed as if nothing could get worse, but for the short time they knew Daemon they knew that it could.

His cloak made him scary, but what was under it no one was prepared for. It was beyond scary movie. The way one arm was bigger than the other, yet they looked the same size. The eyes of a murderer. The teeth that outdid a vampire. The idea of heroism escaped them.
