After Helene and Adrian dressed, he grinned at her.

"What?" She asked.

"How are you feeling?" He asked her.

"Fine," Helene shrugged. "That was fun. I mean, I wasn't planning on you and I having sex so soon, but you know what happens when you get caught up in the moment."

"You're not ashamed of what we just did or anything, right?" Adrian asked. "Cause we can't really have a relationship if you don't want to be close to me."

"I'm not ashamed," Helene assured him as she filed her nails. "I just...next time we do it, could it NOT be on the steps of the entryway? Can't we have sex in bed like normal people?"

"I suppose, if that's what you want," Adrian replied. "But it's less fun that way." He grinned, chuckling.

"What?" Helene asked.

Adrian smiled. "Wouldn't it have been funny if one of the girls had come in a few minutes ago?"

"No, it wouldn't have been funny!" Helene cried. "It probably would have traumatized them so much they never would have come back, and that's not what we want, right?"

"You're right," Adrian nodded. "That's not what we want."

Adrian stood up and pulled Helene up after him, then picked up his things. "I'll go put these in our room now."

"All right," Helene nodded. "And I'll start lunch."

It didn't take long for Adrian to unpack his things. After he was done, he strolled into the kitchen where Helene was making up food. "Hey," he said, coming up behind her, putting his arms around her waist, and inhaling the scent of her hair. "Anything I can help you with?"

Helene giggled. "That tickles, you know. I'm good, so you can just go relax and things will be done in a few minutes."

"All right," Adrian nodded. He kissed her head and with a wicked grin she couldn't see, lightly swatted her on the bottom.

"Hey!" Helene cried, shaking the spoon covered in spaghetti sauce at him. "What was that for?"

Adrian grinned. "I'm sorry," he said. "But you have a cute butt. It's a fact!"

"Well..." Helene put her spoon down and ran her hands over her butt, while Adrian watched, his tongue sliding over his lips. "You have a point. Now go! I promise you won't have to wait long!"

"Wait for what?" Adrian asked. "Lunch?" His eyes swept her body. "Or something else?"

"Seriously?" Helene asked. "You and I just...on the front entryway not even an hour ago!"

"I know, but I have needs!" Adrian cried.

"Just go!" Helene said. "We'll eat and then deal with any other matters later."

Adrian sighed, left the kitchen, and sat down in front of the TV.

A few minutes later, Helene came out carrying a bowl of sauce-covered spaghetti in each hand.

"Need a hand there?" Adrian asked and went to take a bowl from her.

"Thanks," she replied and sat down next to him.

"You're welcome," he replied. "I was just kidding about the sex, by the way. We don't have to do it now. I can wait."

"Can you?" Helene asked, raising an eyebrow as she deftly twisted some spaghetti on her fork and popped it into her mouth. "Can you really? Or are you just saying that?"

"I can," Adrian nodded. "I'm not an animal." He paused. "Well, not at the moment, anyway." Then he chuckled.

"Ha, ha," Helene grinned a little. "Aren't you a barrel of laughs?"

"Yep!" Adrian nodded. "I've always thought so."

They ate their spaghetti in silence after that, and then Adrian cleared the dishes away, putting them in the dishwasher.

"Now," he said when he came back. "What will we do?"

"Well, I assumed you'd want to have sex," Helene said. "Do you? Am I correct?"

"Well, yeah," Adrian nodded. "But we don't have too!"

"Oh, let's do it!" Helene replied. "I can't think of anything better to do!" She stood up. "Race you to the bedroom!"

"You're on!" Adrian grinned and then sped to the room while Helene actually took time to run.

"Not fair!" She cried when she reached the doorframe. "You cheated!"

"You could have done that too," Adrian told her as he stripped off his shirt and his pants. "You do know that, right?"

"I-I can?" Helene asked. "That's news to me."

"I have lots to teach you, don't I?" Adrian asked.

"Yeah, I guess you do," Helene nodded. "But we can do lessons later." She undressed herself and then she and Adrian hopped into bed.

They were so busy with each other that they didn't hear Lenora let herself in the house with a key. "Mom?" She called. "Mom, are you here? Why is Dad's car in the driveway? Grandpa said he was here, and I need to ask him a question about Susanna."

She continued to walk through the house calling for Helene until she stopped outside the bedroom door and heard the noise from inside. She opened it and called quietly, "Mom? Are you in here? Are you okay? Are you-?" She paused when she looked over at the bed and realized to her horror that both her parents were in it and naked. She let out a blood curdling shriek, slammed the door shut, and then completely forgetting what she'd come to tell Helene, she ran down the hallway and out of the house, hoping to get far away before both her parents caught up to her. Unfortunately, the front door was stuck and Adrian and Helene got to her while she struggled with the handle, and she wondered why she hadn't just zapped herself out.

"Ladybug!" Adrian cried. "What brings you here?"

"Nothing that can't wait," she said. "Clearly I interrupted something." She could feel pink creeping into her cheeks. "Can I go now?"

"Well, did you come to tell me something?" Helene asked.

"I did," Lenora nodded. "But I can't remember what it was now. Are you two back together now? I mean, as more than just sex buddies?" The remark made her turn even more red. "I can't believe I just said that!"

"Yeah, we're back together," Adrian told her. "I just moved back in today."

"Well, good," Lenora replied. "I'm-I'm happy for you. Also, glad this whole nightmare that's been happening since I was eight is finally over." She paused. "Anyway, I'm gonna go, and if I remember what I was gonna tell you, Mom, I'll come back. But I won't forget to call first. We don't want to have to go through this awkwardness again."

"Well, all right," Helene replied. "If you're sure..."

"Oh, yes," Lenora replied. "I'm very sure." And with that, she disappeared.

"You see?" Helene asked Adrian when Lenora was gone. "I told you if the girls saw us together it would scare them away!"

"But hey, she said she'd come back," Adrian pointed out. "That's something, isn't it?"

"Yeah," Helene nodded. "That's something. We might as well go back to bed if you're still up for it."

"Sure," Adrian nodded. "Why not?"

"So how was seeing your mother?" James asked when Lenora came back. "Did you tell her that thing that was so urgent?"

"I went to her house planning to," Lenora replied, sitting down next to him in the boat where he was positioning one of the cannons, the one he'd designed to shoot water balloons. "But then everything just went wrong and now I think I'm scarred for life."

"Did you see your mother with a new boyfriend or something?" James asked and then pulled the cord. Three water balloons shot out at a target set in the yard. Henry stood next to the target and cheered when they made contact.

"What are you doing?" Lenora asked.

"I'm demonstrating to Henry why I won't shoot water balloons at him from the cannon on the boat. He won't just believe me that it's too dangerous. But don't change the subject. How can you be scarred by seeing your mother with a new man? You knew it had to happen sometime. She's not a nun, you know."

"I saw her with a man, but it wasn't a new man," Lenora said. "It was my father! And they were having sex!"

"Yeah?" James asked. "And? Where is the part that scarred you for life?"

"It was that!" Lenora cried. "How can you not agree with me about this?"

"Well," James cleared his throat. "If you really wanna know, I grew up in a two room house. My parents had several children and I was the eldest, so naturally, whenever they were involved with one another, I heard it. It's not the end of the world, you know."

"Are you gonna shoot more balloons?" Henry came running into the boat before Lenora could respond. "That was so cool how the target got messed up when the balloon hit it! Now there's a big hole!" He looked at his mother. "Hi, Mommy!"

"Hello, Henry," Lenora said.

Then Henry turned back to James. "So, now, when do I get hit with the balloons?"

"I'm not gonna hit you with balloons from the cannon," James told him. "Henry Alistair O'Connell, how many times do I have to tell you that? If I hit you with balloons from the cannon, you'd have holes in you just like the target does and we don't want that!"

"Oh," Henry nodded, looking saddened. "Okay." He looked up. "Why did you call me that name?" He asked. "After you said the 'Henry Alistair' part? What you said is not our last name!"

"Actually, it is," James told him. "I was born James Michael O'Connell, but changed my last name to Black when I got my first duties with the council because I thought it would make me sound more fearsome."

"So my name is Henry Alistair O'Connell?" Henry asked.

"Yes," James nodded. "And your sister is Susanna Siobhan O'Connell. After my mother."

"Oh," Henry nodded. "Okay." Then he grinned. "Shoot more balloons from the cannon. It's so cool to watch them explode!"

"All right," James told him. "I will as long as you understand I'm not going to shoot them at you."

"Yeah," Henry nodded. "I get that part. Just do it, please!"

"All right," James sighed and loaded up more balloons into the cannon. Lenora went inside and gave Max a break from watching Susanna.

"Did you go see Grandma?" Susanna asked.

"Yeah," Lenora nodded. "I saw Grandma."

"Why did you come back so fast?" Susanna asked.

"Cause I forgot what I had to tell her, so I left," Lenora replied. She paused. "But I remember what it was now. Your Grandma Astrid has a job for your daddy that's gonna require him to be gone for awhile, so I wanted to ask your grandpa if you could come visit during that time, and when I went to see my grandpa, he told me that my dad had moved in with my mom, so I went to her house to ask her if she knew where he was."

"Daddy is leaving?" Susanna asked, eyes wide. "Will he come back?"

"Yeah, of course he'll come back!" Lenora replied, hugging her daughter who looked like she was gonna cry. "But we'll have lots of fun while he's gone. You'll see your grandpa, and I'll take you to Amy's house so you can see Savannah."

"Who is that?" Susanna asked.

"The baby at Grandpa Klaus' with the red hair." Lenora told her. "I remember that you like her."

"Yeah!" Susanna nodded, recognition dawning. "I like the baby! I wanna see the baby!"

"Good," Lenora said, glad her daughter seemed happier. "Just wait a bit and you will."

And that night, Lenora got in bed and said to James, "You know, you weren't very sympathetic to my plight today."

James scoffed. "What happened to you is not a plight. It is a fact of life. When you actually have a real problem, I will feel sorry for you. Speaking of problems, have you thought about how we're gonna tell Susanna I'm going on that job for your mother? I've already told Henry."

"I told Susanna," Lenora said. "Don't worry. She was upset at first, but promises of spending time with my dad and seeing Amy's daughter distracted her and I think that if I just keep thinking of things for her to do, we'll get through it all right."

"I hope so," James replied. "I really do."

"So, are you feeling better?" Klaus asked Amy. "Did the vacation do you any good, or do you still feel stressed out?"

"No, I do feel better," Amy told him. "And Savannah doesn't seem to have suffered any ill effects from us being gone for the weekend, so...I'm better."

"Good," Klaus nodded. "Good."

Amy smiled. "Yeah. And I think...I think I will start Savannah on formula pretty soon. It won't hurt her, right? And it's okay for me to admit that breastfeeding was something I tried that didn't work out for me."

"Exactly," Klaus nodded. "There's nothing wrong with finding out something doesn't work for you. Now that you know that, you can try something else."

Amy sighed. "Thank you," she told Klaus.

"For what?" He asked her.

"For doing a lot of the work while I've been...detained. I just...Savannah wouldn't have turned out so good if not for you."

"Thanks, but she's my daughter as well as yours, so I should help too, shouldn't I?" Klaus asked.

"Yeah," Amy nodded. "But there is a difference between helping and doing everything, and you've been doing everything. Now, you pick something to do to relax yourself and I will take care of Savannah for a bit."

"Really?" Klaus asked. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'm sure," Amy nodded. "I promise."

"Did you miss me?" Amy asked Savannah as she stood over her crib. Klaus had left and now she and her daughter were alone. Savannah looked up at her and gurgled.

"I guess that's a 'Yes'," Amy chuckled. She pulled out the bottle full of formula that she'd brought with her, set it down, then picked Savannah up. "Okay," she said when the baby's eyes were locked on her. "We're gonna try something new from now on. I'm gonna give you a bottle like your daddy does when he feeds you."

Savannah looked at her, then at the bottle, and started to cry.

"Now, stop that!" Amy said, trying to keep her voice firm, but not loud. "I'm not doing this to hurt you, I just...if you want a loving, functioning mother, this is how it has to be!"

Savannah ceased crying once Amy sat down, and took the bottle in her mouth like a good sport, but Amy could still feel she wasn't happy.

"You won't make me feel bad about this," she told her daughter. "This is what's best for both of us, and I don't regret it."

Savannah finished her bottle, Amy burped and changed her, then, after reading her a bedtime story, put her to bed. Once she was sure Savannah was asleep, Amy went to the living room to do a crossword puzzle, but was interrupted by the phone ringing. She brought the phone to her by magic and accepted the call. "Hello?"

"Amy, it's Enid," Enid said. "How was your weekend? Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, Enid, thank you. Everything is great!" Amy said. "The time alone with Klaus was much needed and I finally decided to suck it up and put Savannah on formula. I gave her the first bottle from me tonight."

"And let me guess: She wasn't happy," Enid said.

"No, she wasn't, but I stood firm and I really think I'm making the right decision."

"If you think it's right, then it is," Enid told her. "Trust yourself."

"Right," Amy nodded. "I'll keep that in mind. Thank you. Now, I know it's none of my business, but...is there something going on between you and Ronan?"

"There was something going on once," Enid replied. "Years, and years, and years ago. We were together and it didn't end well. He lives with Klaus' mother now."

"Does he?" Amy asked. "I'll have to meet her sometime."

"I wish you luck with that," Enid replied. "She's a piece of work, let me tell you."

"Thanks for the warning," Amy said. "But I'm sure you're exaggerating."

"Oh, am I?" Enid asked. "A long time ago, Klaus' brother was married to a woman named Susan whom his mother was really attached to. Klaus hurt her, but Selina, who was married to Klaus at the time, took the blame, and you know what his mother did to her? Used her magic to break all of Selina's limbs in several places. She couldn't walk right for days."

Amy felt a chill go down her spine. "Seriously? Oh, my god!"

"Yep," Enid nodded. "Seriously. I'm not lying."

"Well, thanks for telling me," Amy said. "This is something I'm glad I know."

"You're welcome," Enid replied. "Now I have to go make one last look around the bar before I close up for the night. Anything else you need to tell me?"

"No, I'm good," Amy said. "Have a good night, Enid."

"You too," Enid told her, and ended the call. Just as Amy put the phone in the cradle, Klaus came back, covered in blood as usual. Amy looked away, trying not to think too much about what he'd been up to.

"You know," he said, "I was just thinking that we need to take Savannah to meet my mother. Undoubtedly Ronan has mentioned to her that she has a new granddaughter, cause my parents are living together, you know."

"Enid just told me about your mother," Amy replied. "And I don't know if I want Savannah around her. Apparently, she hurt Selina badly, and made it so she couldn't walk for days."

"She only gets vicious if you agitate her," Klaus replied. "And seeing her new grandchild is not something that will agitate her. Keeping her grandchild away when she already knows Savannah is here might do it, though. I say we take her over to my mother's as soon as possible."

"All right," Amy nodded doubtfully, feeling nervous again. "If you think that's right, let's go tomorrow and get it over with."
