Chapter 35 – A Living Nightmare

The thundering of cloud outside woke me. It was heavily raining outside. The room was dark. I could hear clattering in the kitchen. I had fallen asleep waiting for Sam and he hadn't come. Was he ok? Why hadn't he arrived?

I pushed myself up. I felt really tired. My stomach hurt but I pushed the pain away. I made my way downstairs to the kitchen. Kenny was no where around. I jumped when another thundering cloud bellowed.

"Kenny?" I said

I didn't get a reply. The only sound I could hear was the pattering rain outside. Something was wrong. Something didn't feel right. Where was Kenny? He told me he'd be downstairs before leaving me for a nap. Where'd he go?

"Looking for Kenny are we?"

I jerked and turned around. Delilah stood there smirking evilly. She stood in the darkness but I could see her figure well. What was she doing here?

"He's not here. He's lying around somewhere in the garage." She shrugged like it was the most innocent thing to do.

My hearted thudded fast for Kenny's life "What did you do to him?" I asked horrified.

She chuckled "Oh just a bang on the head and he was out. Some guard he is."

I knew she was up to no good. I had to get away from her. Why wasn't Sam with her? She was obviously here for me.

"What do you want?"

She grinned "You're very clever. Now…I just want a itsy-bitsy thing then you can live and I can leave happily. No harm no foul."

"What do you want" I asked again as I backed away into the counter. There was a knife there.

"I want that thing that's living inside you. I want your baby."

My heart stopped and so did my feet. I stared at her as if she asked to rip out my intestines. She wouldn't be getting one finger on my child. She'll have to go through me first.

I glared at her "Like hell!" I growled and grabbed the knife from behind me.

She tsked "I knew you'd say that. Too bad we gotta do this the hard way." She came towards me and I waited for her to get close enough so I could plunge that knife into her.

She stopped three feet away from me and raised her palm up. Something white was there, like a powder. My eyes widened at what it was and before I could react, she blew the powder on my face.

I felt the magic work as I started to feel numb. The world circled around me. Before the darkness consumed me, I saw Delilah smirking "Sleep" She whispered and I did.

It smelled like something was burning. I could feel the heat on my body. I scrunched my face in pain. I could feel the hard concrete under my body. I blinked my eyes open. Smoke surrounded me. I pulled myself to sit. The place looked like hell. It was lit by smoke everywhere, only it wasn't spreading. Magic I guessed.

It was like a dungeon from 1800's. I could hear people screaming from somewhere inside. Fear gripped my heart as I looked around. I was trapped. I felt the weight of something heavy on my ankle. That bitch chained me to a pillar. Guards were lined in there positions next to every pillar.

"Ah good, you're awake. I was about to wake you."

Delilah appeared from around a pair of stairs. She was dressed in a red gown with a red cape on her shoulders. Red lipstick covered her lips. Gosh she looked like my evil twin. She looked horrifyingly beautiful.

I got up from the ground and glared at her "Where am I?" I asked.

She smiled "This is my castle sweetheart. Don't you just love it here? It's amazing. It's my home" She sighed delightfully.

I stared at her incredulously "You call this home? I could feel misery of dead people here! You've killed here!"

She shrugged nonchalantly "Well a girl is gotta do something if she wants to stay indestructible."

I look fiercely at her. "You disgust me!"

"Oh goody" She smirked then glared at the guard behind me "Untie her. We have unfinished business."

"Yes my queen." He answered and unlocked the chain on my ankle. I rotated my ankle for some blood flow. It felt like it was asleep.

Delilah grabbed tightly on my arm, digging her nails in my skin. I grounded my teeth from screaming out in pain. The last thing I wanted to show her was weakness. She raised her eyebrows at my bravado but didn't say anything which I was grateful for.

She pulled me along with her. The guards trailed behind us. I looked around as we walked down a long corridor. The odour of blood was everywhere. I felt sick. I could hear screams. There were cells. People crying for me to help them, some was screaming with anger and some with warnings.

I shuddered. I knew Kenny was here somewhere which was why I wasn't running off. I have to find when I get the chance.

"Where's Kenny?" I snapped as I tried to keep my pace with her.

She chuckled "Don't worry; he's where he's supposed to be."

My heart thudded faster. What the fuck did she do to him? Anger burned inside me. "If you'd hurt him, laid a single finger on him, so help me god I will-"

She stopped and glared at me. "I would never hurt Kenny! You stupid bitch!" She screamed her eyes wide with anger. It was like I'd hit a soft spot.

My eyes widened as I realized. "You love him."

She just glared at me. "I love no one but myself. That's how I survived this world" There was something in her eyes, her fear, anger, sadness and little love. I could see through her and she feared it.

She started pulling me along with her again not giving me a chance to question her further. We walked down another door until we came up to huge double doors. I knew for sure that this place wasn't Delilah's. She must have killed someone and had resided here herself.

She pushed open the doors with just a flick of her hand. I was beginning to wonder just how much power did she had? From the sizzle of magic bursting through her, I knew she made some bargain for the dark magic. I could feel power radiating off her. She smelled of sulphur just like Abbadon did.

I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw what was in front of me. Sam was arms wide chained to two pillars. He only wore his black pants and the upper half was bare. My eyes filled with tears when I saw blood and grazes on his face and body. He hung down, the chains where keep him up. He was unconscious.

I pushed away from Delilah and rushed to his side. I grabbed his face "Sam! Look at me" But he didn't stir.

I glared back at Delilah "What did you do to him!" I screamed

She shrugged nonchalantly "He was being uncooperative. The spell has somehow worn off I wonder how…" She gave me a suspicious look.

I ignored her and looked at Sam. He was unconscious. I patted his cheek lightly "Sam wake up, it's me Scarlet." I whispered. When he didn't respond, I laid my head against his and swallowed a sob.

"You know…" Delilah started behind me "Love is gonna get you killed. I know you're a smart girl Scarlet. You're powerful, I know it. Join me and I promise you can be my right hand girl. You'll never crave anything, it'll be all provided. You'll live a life of luxury. Swear your loyalty to me…" She said in a tone that was almost musical. Someone in my place would have caved.

I looked back at her and chuckled "You see, that's the difference between you and me. You don't know the meaning of love. You're evil, cruel and selfish. Someone like you doesn't deserve love. Our faces may look alike but we are two whole different beings. I would rather die than give you my loyalty." I spat every word at her.

She glared at me "Then you're going to die with that baby of yours so I can have Sam as my slave for eternity and his kingdom would be mine to rule over."

Sadness crept inside me and I shook my head at her. "I pity you Delilah. I really do. After gaining the kingdom, who will you have at your side? Who will take care of you when you're sad or hurt? Who will love you? I pity you because even after gaining all these things, you won't have the warmth of a family, of friendship… of love. You may have everything but compared to me, you are the unfortunate person."

"SHUT UP!" She screamed. "JUST SHUT UP!" In just a swing, she grabbed me by the neck and had me pinned against the wall. My feet dangled in the air as she held me up. I clawed at her hands but she held tight enough to choke me. Her eyes were red of angry tears.

"I have everything I want. You're gonna regret every word you said. You're gonna watch every loved one die and when I'm done with them, I'll kill your child right in front of you and when that's not enough, I would torture you till the eternity till the day you beg me for death." She sneered evilly.

My eyes bulged out. I could feel my vision fading. Just as I was about to pass out, she dropped me. I coughed. My throat hurt like hell. I crawled away from her pressing a hand on my stomach. The pain had started again and this time they were a lot more painful. I knew Delilah would waste no time in hurting again.

With all my power I screamed that one name that I knew would come for my rescue with everything he had. "ABBADON!"

"No" I heard Delilah whisper in Fear.

For a minute nothing happened and I feared Delilah had done something to him too but then the ground rumbled. The walls buzzed with power like an earthquake. I felt him. I looked at Sam. He lifted his eyes, his yellow, glowing eyes. And his focus was on person and one person only. Delilah.

With a growl, he grabbed the chains and pulled. The chains broke out of the wall, falling at his feet.

"You made a mistake Dee, one you're going to pay heavily." Abbadon said

I looked at Delilah who scrambled away behind her soldiers. Her army looked scared and uncertain themselves. "What are you looking at? Kill him!" She screamed and then ran out the doors, shutting them. Some queen she is.

Abbadon wasted no time. He grabbed and maimed the soldiers one by one. He was ruthless and sexy. I couldn't help but smirk at him when he finished the last of them.

I can hear you sweetness. He said in my mind and then smirked back at me.

Crap. I forgot. Yeah well ignore me and help me up.

He made his way towards me and helped me up. I grit my teeth from the pain yet I held my ground. Abbadon looked at me in concern.

"Are you okay?" He asked

I took a deep breath and nodded. "I'll be fine. I have to find Kenny. She has him somewhere here."

"She had you in the dungeons?" He asked

I nodded "Yes"

"Was Kenny there?"

I shook my head "No but there were a lot of people there screaming. Gosh! Abbadon, it was horrible!" I starting sobbing, remembering the screams of pain from the dungeon.

He pulled me against him "Shh…I'm here. The screams you heard are souls burning, crying out in pain and misery, wanting to pass on to the other side. Do not follow the sound. We're in the portal that leads to hell. Delilah must have brought us here because she wanted to get rid of me or worse, she wants to use more power of black magic.

I stepped back and looked at him horrifying. "Oh god… We have to get out of here."

He nodded then kissed me smack on the mouth. For a moment I stood there, and then I started kissing him back. I didn't know if we'll even have a moment again but I knew I couldn't let go of him right now.

He pulled back "Listen carefully then, when you go out this door, go to the left corridor and take the stairs up to the right wing. She might have him there if not in the dungeons. Take Kenny and leave through the basement in the dungeon. There's the portal back to the earth." HE said hurriedly and pulled me out the door with him.

I stopped and looked at him "How do you know all this?"

Sadness swept over his face "This was my home, my castle before Delilah enchanted me."

She ruined everyone's life. She must pay for what she has done. She must be stopped.

Abbadon nudged me towards the left corridor "Go, take Kenny and leave."

"What about you?" I asked

He grinned "I'm gonna kick some witch butt then follow you."

I knew he was lying. We both knew Delilah has turned darker than she was. HE wouldn't be able to stop her but he will die trying. No. I would not let that happen. As soon as I free Kenny, I will follow Abbadon and finish this once in for all.

I didn't tell him that because I knew he would haul me back to earth before I could even grab Kenny. Instead I kissed him softly. "Be careful and come back to me. Promise me."

He nodded and pressed his forehead against mine. "I promise beauty."

With that reassurance, I made my way towards the stairs. I followed Abbadon's instructions and went down the right wing. It was empty. The back of my neck prickled in warning. I could feel something evil lurking but I didn't know what or where. I couldn't point a finger at the dark feeling I had.

I stopped right in my tracks when I heard a low, threatening growl. I turned around abruptly. I couldn't see anything but I felt it. It was dark and evil. I stepped back. Whatever it was, it was waiting for me to make a move. What was it? I didn't stop to wonder; I turned and sped down the long corridor.

I heard barking and growls. A Dog? Something told me it was far worse and it was catching up to me.

I went inside one of the doors and locked it behind me. It was an old fashioned room. In the corner of the room was an old fashioned four-poster-bed with white curtains hanging down. On the left was a window with a balcony, a dressing table on the right. It was a beautiful room. Abbadon really had some taste.

A loud thud jerked me around. I could feel that evil thing lurking behind the door. It was breaking down the door. I tried not to panic. I looked around for another exit and sure there was an adjoined door in the far corner. Thank god!

I ran towards it just as the other door snapped down. I shut the door behind me and locked it again and ran towards the other door. Gosh how many doors does this place have!

I stopped when I heard a loud mumble. I turned around. I couldn't be any happier on seeing a familiar face. Kenny was tied to the wall, his hands behind his back and his mouth was covered with a ragged cloth.

I ran towards him and pulled the cloth down his mouth.

He panted loudly. "Scar, are you ok? That bitch used some of her mojo shit at the house. I woke up here just a few minutes ago. Are you harmed? How'd you escape?"

"Long story short, Abbadon helped, told me to find you and escape but now I'm being chased by something evil. Here I am running." I said panting from all the running. I looked around the place for some knife to cut out those heavy ropes that had his hands tied.

"What? Abbadon? What evil? She has these ropes enhanced. I can't break free of them." He said in a tone that said I should have guessed myself. Vampire power. Right.

"There has to be-"

And then the door broke down. Again.

"What the hell was that?" Kenny asked looking around searching for the intruder.

I pressed my back against Kenny, hoping to protect him. I could hear the loud footsteps and growls coming from the broken doorway.

Use Abbadon's powers An inner voice whispered inside me

I didn't know how but I closed my eyes and willed all the powers of Abbadon. I felt power surge inside me. It was evil but there was something that was containing the evil back.

I felt that presence getting close. I flicked my eyes open and stopped breathing.

Right in front of me, six feet away stood a heavily muscled dog with long sharp fangs, pure red eyes, blackish-reddish skin as if burned. It was huge with large paws and it was looking right at us, his prey.

I gasped and pressed against Kenny.

"W-What is it? Scar, do you see it?" Kenny asked unaware of what was in front of us.

"Yes" I whispered in fear yet I didn't move my eyes away from the thing.

"What is it?" He asked uncertain and probably panicked himself for not seeing something threatening.

My heart rate quickened as it made its way towards us very slowly like a predator.

"It's a hellhound."

Alrighty guys, first of all my deep apologies for keeping you all waiting for this chapter. Guys I've been having some trouble in my personal life so I couldn't focus on my books. I'm still struggling but eventually I will end this book soon. There are only a few chapters left before the ending.

I'm gonna miss this story but don't worry, we're gonna meet Scar and Sam in Kenny's story. Kenny's story will start after I finish this one. And it was start on Wattpad. In fact when I finish this story, I'm gonna remove it and put it up on wattpad because all my stories are there. So I hope you all have accounts there!
