Author note: Okay this next chapter might dissappoint some of you, but I felt this was the right way to go.

Horatio and Yelina

Yelina found them curled together on the bed. Horatio saw her and motioned for her to stay. He tenderly stroked Celesta's cheek before he got up and walked to Yelina, once more looking back to the sleeping Celesta he finally, with his hand on her back, steered Yelina to the hallway. Horatio hadn't seen Yelina since Eric had told him what had happened during those lost days. Yelina turned to him, head held high, sure of herself: "I did what I deemed necessary Horatio, I would do it again." Horatio regarded her and then nodded: "I understand." After a short silence he continued: "Celesta asked me not to be disappointed or angry with you. She believes you did what you thought you had to do. I told her I found I am angry and disappointed, but that our..." he pointed at Yelina and himself: "...relationship will survive this...glitch." Horatio saw the sigh of relieve, showing him that Yelina had been nervous. "And before we discuss this further I need you to understand something. I love Celesta and in the future want her to have access to me always. I trust you will see to that. It is my intention to give her my power of attorney. I had wanted to arrange that earlier but couldn't find the time." Yelina simply nodded. "Good." Horatio said and then walked to a small coffee corner.

He got two coffees from the machine giving one to Yelina and they sat down. "I don't blame you. I actually feel that I am partly to blame. After all I had not yet told you about Celesta and my relationship with her. It had all happened quit suddenly and I haven't had the time to visit you. But despite that, why didn't you trust Calleigh, Eric and Kyle when they told you about our relationship?" Horatio asked, Yelina remained silent and Horatio gave her the time she needed.

"When I heard through my contacts at the police station that you had been shot, I thought that seeing you through your recovery would allow us to grow closer together. You know I have always had romantic feelings for you. After Ray was taken I thought we would someday end up together. But then Ray came back and I couldn't do that to him, because i still loved him. When he died I once more thought that you and I would start a relationship. And then you married Marisol and then she died. I thought that this shooting was a good starting point, but then I got here and all I heard was Celesta this, Celesta that, poor Celesta. When I learned of her place in your live I got jealous. It was probably beneath me, but I decided then that I would not allow her near you. I wanted you to see me first, I wanted to nurse you, because I love you." Yelina stared at her folded hands. Horatio reached out and grabbed her hands, asking her to look at him. "Thank you for telling me. I also once believed we might start a relationship. You know I have always loved you, and love you still. But my love for you changed when I married Marisol. This will be hard to hear, but you need to know, you are one of my dearest friends and my dear sister, but my heart belongs to Celesta." Horatio saw the resignation in her eyes.

"I know, I knew when you asked for Celesta." Both Yelina and Horatio were silent, until Horatio asked: "Will you meet her?" Yelina sighed: "Yes, but not just now. When you have returned to your home, then I'll come by." They remained silent for a while, then Yelina asked: "Can you forgive me for my ill advised actions?" Horatio stood and pulled Yelina into a hug: "Yes, I can forgive you."

"Thank you." They turned to walk back to Horatio's room. "Will you stay a while? I think Celesta will sleep at least another hour, she is exhausted."

"No, I have to return to my work. You take care of her and yourself H."

"I will." With a final kiss on his cheek Yelina left.

Like I said earlier: I don't have any problems with Yelina and I believe this is the right way to go with this story.

Please tell me what you think.
