Disclaimers: I don't own RWBY.
I kind of don't want to really.
Seems like a lot of work.
"Why did you choose to become a huntsman, Jaune, my boy?" Professor Port asked the blonde who was in the middle of catching up on all the work he missed.
Yeah, so what if he was nearly crippled?
He had work to dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Hoo hoo hoo….
Jaune internally cried.
Back to the matter at hand, Jaune could only look up towards the portly man from his desk.
"What do you mean?" The boy asked to which the teacher repeated for him.
"Why did you choose to become a hunter?" He repeated, causing Jaune to stop a bit and think.
"I'd say because there wasn't much of a choice for me." The boy replied as the large man raised an eyebrow.
"Why would that be? Did your family pressure you to be a hunter?" He asked as Jaune could only chuckle.
"No, no. I meant that with how I am, being a hunter was the ONLY option for me unless I decided to bum off my family." He informed as the teacher could frown.
"Jaune, I don't believe putting your life on the line is what I'd say to be the best or only option." The older man said as Jaune shrugged.
"I'm a fighter and there's absolutely nothing else I'm capable of doing without going insane. It's in my blood and it'd be a waste for me to try and do something else." The young leader gave an honest answer.
"I'm not some hero who'll be ready to put everything on the line for some stranger, but I still have the morality to stop what I can and chances are: I have the capabilities to do so. I'm not here to save the world like Ruby. I'm not here because I have no other answer in life like Ren and Nora. I'm not here for family honor like Weiss. I'm just a simple guy who wants to do what he knows how to do." The boy explained.
"That's still an admirable reason. While you can say that there's nothing else for you to do. You could easily have become a criminal or worked under shady practices." Professor Port reminded Jaune to which he could only look to the side nervously.
"Yeah… You try to do any of those with a family like mine. I've thought about it and I can't say I'd be so thrilled to try so. I was raised to be how I am and It'd just be plain impossible for me to try and imagine a life fully doing that." The young Arc truthfully said as the older male could only laugh a good hearty laugh.
"Jaune, my boy, you remind me of me when I was your age! Why whe-" The professor began, before the student immediately spoke up.
"No. Don't say that ever again. I don't want to hear another long story, professor. Let me do my work." He said without a hint of emotions.
The teacher could only chuckle with an embarrassed look.
Later
"Jaune!" A certain redhead yelled out, causing her boyfriend to turn towards the noise.
He was immediately tackled, but being a hunter in training, he caught the small girl, smiling at her energy.
"Hey, Ruby. What's up? I was just about to go collapse into my bed, before Weiss came and made me finish up even more work." The boy asked, holding up the girl by her waist.
Ruby flailed, a bit, not liking being picked up like that, before relenting.
"That's what I came to you for! I got everyone to agree to play this new board game Yang got!" The girl excitedly told the boy, causing him to tilt his head.
"A board game? Didn't we already burn through all the mainstream ones?" Her fellow leader asked, causing her to nod her head.
"Yep, yep! That's why we got a special one that Yang found at a store she went with Blake to!" The adorable female explained with no lack of energy.
"Mm…" Jaune hummed a bit, shifting Ruby to hold her bridal style. "If you got Weiss to play, that means I can use this as a distraction to keep Weiss from making me do work…"
Ruby could only give a sly smile, a bit surprised at her new position.
"Exactly! It's either play the game with us or do work with Weiss!" Ruby declared, giving the ultimatum.
"You have work too, don't you?" Her boyfriend asked, causing her smile to falter.
That answered it.
Oh well, how bad could it be?
In Team JNPR's dorm
Ah, yes, of course they'd be in the JNPR dorm. They DID have a lot of space.
Team RWBY and Team JNPR had all gathered around to play the game.
The max was 6 people, so 2 people had to wait their turn or play with someone already playing.
Blake being Blake opted to sit this one out and read on the bed.
Of course, she'll inevitably be dragged in to play at least one round.
Pyrrha, being the nice girl, decided to wait her turn also, sitting on the sidelines with a smile as she watched.
So that left the rest of the teams to play this board game.
What board game was it?
It was basically LIFE, but …
"LIFE: The Romantic Adventure Game." The male blonde could only stare at the box cover.
Because of course this would be the game that everyone would play.
"3 spaces! You're the talk of all of your peers! Everyone admires you! Get 1,000 Lien!" Nora read her card out loud.
Yeah, this wasn't the greatest game for them to play.
Why?
Well, to give you a run down.
Yang was a struggling single person working any job she can get just to live.
Weiss was as rich as she is now, however, she was single for the time being.
Ren is living a pretty normal life with a random female as a wife, much to Nora's dismay.
Nora had somehow gained a mass harem.
Ruby and Jaune?
They got a special spot where they married each other.
You can go "Oh, but they're a couple already, so it's fine! That's so cute!".
No.
After Ren gave Nora the money she earned, Jaune sun the spinner.
"6 spaces. 1,2,3,4,5,6…" Jaune began, landing on a special spot, earning him a special card.
"You and your spouse have decided to have a child! Everyone gives you 1000 Lien for the baby shower….." Jaune read the card out loud.
Weiss and Yang stayed quiet, their eye twitching.
Nora didn't seem to care as Ren began counting his money.
Ruby could only cover her face, having recently learned how babies were fully made.
Everyone gave them their money.
"My, my, Jaune, you dirty boy. Isn't 6 kids enough?" Nora laughed as she handed her money.
"G-geez, Jaune…" Ruby embarrassingly whispered, face completely red.
"It's not my fault! I can't control what happens!" The blonde boy defended himself.
"Oh really?" Weiss asked with a chilling voice as Yang could only give him a death glare.
"You can't control how you handle my sister…?" The bomber spoke in a dangerous tone.
"A-ah… Your turn Weiss!" Jaune skipping the subject reminded his other girlfriend.
"Hmph." The ice princess spun the spinner, getting a 4.
When she agreed to playing this board game, she didn't expect to find herself actually caring.
"1, 2, 3, 4…" She counted, before reading the space. "Your crush has been increasing his attention on your best friend and their relationship has skyrocketed. You work overtime at your job to fill in the void. Get 50,000 Lien."
Weiss was extremely rich.
Ren gave Weiss her money, being the banker he is.
"Y-yay… I'm so rich…" She weakly cheered.
"I've never heard such a weak and deflated cheer as that." The eastern boy thought, feeling extremely bad.
"My turn! Finally!" Yang yelled, spinning the spinner really hard and having it land on a 1.
The hunter in training cursed as she moved her piece one spot, reading the space.
"You lose your job. If you don't have a job, pay 5,000 lien and skip your next turn." Yang read, crumpling to the floor.
"But, I just made that lien…" She cried, wiping her tears.
That's why you should always take the college path.
"Alright, my turn…" Ruby, having recovered, spun the spinner.
"1, 2, 3, 4. Grimm attack! Lose 2,000 Lien." Ruby sighed thankfully. A normal card.
"Tough luck, Ruby! Go Renny!" Nora cheered on, wanting the game to move faster.
"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. You get involved romantically with the last non married person who had a turn. If you are married, you now have a cheating status." Ren read the card, causing everyone to stare at him.
"Haha! Does that mean I can get money from you?" Yang asked hopefully, earning a head shake from Ren.
"We're not married." Ren reminded her, causing her to pout and Nora to glare.
"Hmph! My turn." The valkyria announced, spinning the spinner.
"1, 2, 3, 4, 5! Someone left a love letter in your mailbox. You become nervous and are unable to perform at work. Lose 5000 Lien." The small girl could only whine at the loss of money.
It didn't seem THAT bad, right?
Wrong.
"You and your partners relationship has reached a peak! Pay 5,000 Lien to pay for the broken bed." Jaune read with a deadpanned expression.
…
…
…
…
…
Yeah.
"Oh my Monty, Jaune, you need to be more subtle!" Ruby cried out embarrassed.
"It's not my fault! I can't do anything but hope I land on something good!" The normally immune towards such subjects boy could only yell back.
"1, 2, 3. You're important. Get $10,000 Lien." Weiss chose to ignore what was happening and continued her turn.
Ren gave her the Lien she earned.
"Yay, look at all of my money…" Weiss said, holding up all of her money.
The poor girl.
Yangs turn having been skipped, Ruby was broken out of her argument with Jaune. She huffed as she spun the spinner, getting a 3 and landing where Jaune landed.
"You and your partners re-" She began, before her face turned deathly pale.
The couple gave Ren their Lien with a very deep apology.
Needless to say, Jaune should have just studied.
He was sure there wasn't anything more awkward than what was currently happening…
Elsewhere in an unknown location.
Roman liked to think of himself as a fairly sane person.
Yes, he was a criminal and all.
That just meant he was falling on hard times.
He didn't choose the thug life. The thug life broke into his home and socked him in the face for being a little bitch.
That being said, with the people going missing lately, Roman was forced to go and check it out.
Yes, he sent his minions to find out what was happening, but surprise surprise. They disappeared.
He didn't even know where Neo was, not that he was concerned.
If she of all people could get kidnapped, Cinder and he would be in REAL trouble.
That being said, it was because that his little partner was missing that he reacted as such towards someone in his house.
Believing it was Neo, Roman, in his casual wear being just a bathrobe and slippers on, turned with a huge smile, ready to greet one of the few people he'd actually care as to whether or not theyd die.
"…"
Roman got silenced as he normally would if he had done this.
Except he wasn't facing Neo.
"Roman Torchwick…" Adam stoically spoke.
If he was bothered by what was in front of him, he didn't show it.
"Well, this is awkward. I almost gave you a hug." Roman said, his mood visibly deflating.
Ey, I'm done.
I don't have much to say, except that we needed a breather chapter.
Yes, this is a shoutout.
Not too sure what else I can say about it.
I hope you enjoyed!
I'm too lazy to give an explanation or a good close summary.
So.
Um.
I'm out.
