Maya POV:

we got up out of bed and took a shower. getting ready for the most annoying day of my life so far. I stupid court hearing for a man that hasn't done nothing for her since she was a year old. he missed five years of her life. he missed her first words and step by choice. Emily was there for that. Emily was there when Emma got sick at four in the morning and took her to the hospital. Emily has been more of a father to her than he ever has. So why in the hell does this man he deserves any type of custody for her.

we arrive at the court house and go upstairs. we signed in and waited for about twenty minutes until we were called into the court room. "Ms. St. Germain and Mr. Miller? Correct?" the judge asked us. "Yes sir." I said.

"This is about a custody hearing over a six year old Emily Anne Miller, correct?" the judge asked. "Yes sir." Chris responded. "Her last name isn't Miller, it is Fields-St. Germain." I corrected. "The paper work said Miller." the judge said. "That's because Mr. Miller put Miller." I said. "Okay well thanks for correcting that. but I have looked over this case and it is a pretty open- shut case. Mr. Miller you want joint custody. but you signed your rights over to…. a…. Ms. Emily Fields. Correct?" the judge asked him. "Yes sir I did."

"and once you did that you lost all custody to your daughter, because Ms. Fields adopted her giving her custody over the child alone with her mother Ms. St. Germain. I am sorry to tell you Mr. Miller but you can't have custody of her. No type of custody. There is nothing that I can do about this matter. It is up to her parents whether they want you to be in her life or not. I feel that it is in your best interest to get on their good side so your daughter may have a father in her life. Have you seen your daughter since you gave your rights up five years ago?" the judge asked.

"Yes sir I have." Chris answered. "So it seems to me they are not trying to keep this child away from her father. This case is dismissed." the judge said hitting his gavial.

We walked out of the court room with a shock look on our face. "That was short and easy." I said. "That's a good thing Maya." Emily said grabbing my hand. "Maya, Emily can we talk?" Chris asked walking up to us. "Yeah Chris talk." I said letting go of Emily's hands placing them on my hips. "I'm sorry okay I just wanted to have my daughter more." "Chris I sorry to tell you this but she is not your daughter. you gave that right up. Be happy that I even let you see her. Why the hell would you even try this?" I asked getting angry. "Because I… honestly don't know why. I guess jealousy took over and made me blind that my child is happy having two mothers."

Emily placed her hand on my lower back. "Chris I told you before I am not trying to replace you as Emily's father. You were told you can see her as long as you call before hand to make sure that she wasn't doing anything. but you choose to stay away till she was six. that was the decision you made. we didn't make that for you. now we have to go." Emily said grabbing my hand as we walked away. I had a smile on my face because I never seen Emily get so defensive like that.

"Thanks for saying that." I said as we got into the car. "You thought I was going to stand there and let you talk and not once open my mouth to defend my family?" she asked. "I… well… yeah." I said stuttering. "I am offended that you would think that." Emily said starting the car. "Babe I'm sorry." I said placing my hand on her thigh. "Yeah whatever." she said smiling over at me.

We pulled into the drive way and went into the house. Emily hasn't even walked two feet into the door before her phone starts ringing.

"Hello." she answered. "Yes sir be there in ten." she said hanging up the phone. "Baby I have to go I have a practice and then I will be back to pack." I said kissing my lips and running upstairs. she came running back down with her duffle bag and a sweat suit on. "I'll see you later." she said giving me a kiss. I pulled her back by her coat giving her another kiss. I pulled the zipper down on her jacket to see her swimsuit. "I have always liked that one on you the best." I said kissing her lips again as she brushed my hands away. "Yeah blue is the best color." she said with a light blush on her cheeks. "Go before you are late." I said and she ran out the door.

Emily POV:

I arrived at the gym. coach had me swim like thirty laps in the pool. "Coach the trails are in two days." I said getting out of the pool. "And by the looks of it you are ready for it." she said. "yes." I said trying to catch my breath. "Alright Fields go home and pack and meet me at the airport early in the morning." she said patting me on the back. I went to the showers and headed home. When I got in the car I seen that it was time for Emma and Elise to get out of school. I decided to surprise them and show up. I pulled up to the school and I had about an hour wait. I walked inside to see the desk clerk sitting there. "Hey Emily." she said. "Hey, I am just going to head to my classroom and see how my students are." I told her. "Okay I cant wait to see you win at trails." she said. "I leave in the morning." I said taking a deep breath. "I'll be watching." she said and I nodded, heading towards my classroom.

I knocked on the door and watched at the old sub walked towards the door. she was about fifty with salt and pepper colored hair. "hey." I said. "Hey, class I have a surprise for you." she said and the kids yelled what. "Hey kiddies." I said walking into the classroom. "Mrs. Fields!" they yelled running to me. "Have everyone been good for Mrs. Lance?" I asked. "Yes!" they all yelled. "Okay get back to work." I said. "Mommy, Emily!" Emma and Elise yelled running towards me now. "Hey." I said lifting them up. "What are you doing here?" they asked in unison. "I thought I would drop by and see you." I said looking at everyone in the class. "Go sit in your seat." I told them putting them back on the floor. "Those must be your favorite students?" Mrs. Lance asked. "No ma'am that is my daughter and my little sister." I said. "Really?" she asked. "Yes ma'am. they are a handful together." "They were good all day." "they better have been." I said looking a Mrs. Lance.

"Mommy, are you leaving tonight?" she asked across the room. "For what?" I asked. "For the Olympic Trials." she said. "No I leave in the morning. but I'll be back in a week." "I want to go." she whined. "me too." Elise Whined. "Of course you are silly, Mama is going so that means you two are coming." I said. "well I have to go." I said. "Can we come?" They asked. "No ma'am ya'll may not your grandma/mom will pick you up after school. I have to go home and pack." I said and Emily ran to me. "I love you." she said giving me a kiss on the lips. "I love you too." I said. "You are going to be in the Olympic Trails?" the sub asked. "Yes ma'am." "doing what?" "I will be swimming." I told her. "I cant wait to see you win Mrs. Fields." "Thanks you." I said leaving.

I was finally starting to feel the nerves of going to the Trails now more than I did when I found out I was going. I pray I make it to the Olympics.
