Three days later and Allison had gotten her script for her new project, and sat down with her pen and highlighter to get started. Just as she had just gotten started on the second page, a knock at the door interrupted her. She let out a slight groan as she got up and headed to the door. She opened the door and saw a mess of daisy's in a cute little vase.

"Hello."

"Congratulations on the new part Miss Thompson." She didn't recognize the american voice and was now hesitant to open the door further.

"Um, Thank you, may I ask who sent these?" She positioned herself so that one foot was against the door frame, the other back slightly. If this guy tried to come in she could kick the door with some force against him. This time as he spoke, his american accent changed into an English one and she knew immediately who it was.

"Well, I would be the one who sent these lovely flowers to you darling." He moved the flowers down so she could see him and the look on her face looked like she could slap him.

"You scared the hell out of me, I didn't know what strange guy had showed up here." She opened the door for him to come in, he continued to talk as he came into the entryway and handed her the flowers.

"That is what a good dialect coach can do for you." She put the flowers on a side table as Tom shut the front door. When she turned around he was standing there, grin on his face, so she smacked his arm, not hard, but enough for him to bust out laughing. "I know I shouldn't laugh, but that face, you looked at if you were going to strangle me."

"I still could." Tom admired the smirk that spread across her lips. "Want anything to drink?"

"No, thank you darling."

"So I take it Chris told you about me getting the role?" Tom followed Allison into the living room where she sat down in Ben's chair. Tom sat just across from her and leaned back in the chair, his usual legs spread pose, while Allison on the other hand was crossed legged curled up into the chair. As he spoke Allison noticed the way his face told the story, all of his endless expressions flowing into each other as he talked, hands moving about.

"Yes, I talked to Chris. I had called to check on India, she had a little cold last week so when I called he was quite happy with himself. Apparently you two did this screen test just this past Tuesday, and I talked to him Tuesday evening and he never mentioned it. So yesterday when we spoke he started off with Tom, your going to be so jealous of me. And I'm thinking he got the new car he's been looking at. No, when he continued it was I get to work with none other than Allison Thompson, and I could hear the pure amusement in his voice."

"So, did he tell you he also took me to lunch?"

"He hinted at that. How was that?"

"It was nice. He's a great guy, like a big brother, you know. I think I will enjoy working with him and I know it will be fun to prank him." Both of them chuckled and when it died down Tom just smiled at Allison.

"He said he would adopt you as a sister." Allison smiled as shifted in her chair.

"I think I could handle that. He can't wait for me to get out to L.A. because he's dying for me to meet Elsa, he keeps saying how much her and I would get along. He also told me he was secretly wishing that you and I would end up together instead of Ben and me making up."

"Oh." Tom wasn't sure what to say, but he could see something in Allison's eyes. What neither Tom nor Allison knew was that just a few hours before Ben found himself faced with some difficult thoughts. He was sitting in a small café enjoying a cup of tea on his day off. He had just spent the last hour on the phone with his close friend Martin and now Ben was lost deep in thought. He leaned back in his chair, taking in a deep breath as he looked out over the café, that's when she walked in. The woman from his first night there, from the bar. He suddenly felt compelled to talk to her, to explain and to get her opinion. She scanned the café for an empty table, and soon her eyes met his. He smiled warmly at her as he stood up and motioned to the chair across from him.

"Good to see you Mr. Cumberbatch."

"It's lovely to see you as well Lillianna, but please, call me Ben." She stood there for a moment, not knowing what to do, until he spoke. "Please, join me. I'd like to talk to you."

"Ben, I assure you, there is no need to try to explain your actions to me. I understand you were upset and feeling rejected by your girlfriend."

"Lillianna, please. I would really like you to join me." She took a deep breath as she sat down and looked up at his brilliant eyes.

"What is on your mind then?"

"First off, I still want to apologize for my actions that evening. I was out of line and I hope you don't think I'm just some arse. Second, I found out I was completely wrong about Allison hanging up on me. It turns out a woman whom I wish I had never met came to my flat looking for me and implied that her and I had been together after I started dating Allison. Allison had been quite upset, but waited to talk to me before jumping to any conclusions, unfortunately because of the time difference and how long my flights were, she had fallen asleep, unaware that her mobile's battery was close to dying. When I called, we only got to talk a few moments before it died, then I thought she hung up on me, causing me to throw my mobile and breaking it. She tried phoning me back several times, but was afraid I was upset with her, or that I was actually hurt." Lillianna was aware of some of what had happened from the last time they spoke, but now she listened to him, she heard something in his voice, some of his emotions flowing out with his words.

"I assume she finally got a hold of you." Ben admired her smile as she spoke.

"Well, She phoned several times, and sent a few messages. She then sent an email and that next morning I phoned my friend Martin back home and had him let her know I was safe. I admit I didn't try to contact her for several days, I was afraid to hear her heartache. So nearly a week later I sent her an email, and the following day she phoned me back."

"Well everything sounds well and good, but something is still bothering you, what is it?"

"Well you and I spoke that evening about maybe her and I needing to take a break from each other, and I have thought a lot about that, and now I'm beginning to think your right."

"How did this revelation come about? You were totally against it."

"Well, part of what got me thinking was the fact that through all the messages and voice mails, she was never angry at me, hurt yes, but never actually angry. I was totally opposite, that whole night I was enraged at her, I wasn't hurt I was just mad. I know that could just be our personalities, but then I met you and well, you know how that went. After that I just keep thinking about you, even when I phone her or video chat with her, I think about you." He looked at Lillianna, whose cheeks had flushed at the thought of that night, and wondered if maybe fate had intervened that evening. He and Lillianna talked for a long time, just enjoying each others company, and now he knew what needed to be done.

Hours later, as Allison and Tom sit and talk, Ben picked up his phone and called Allison. She excused herself from Tom and answered the phone.

"Hello."

"Allison, sweetheart. Are you busy?"

"Not terribly, why what's up?"

"We need to talk about things, about us." Allison felt her heart in her throat as she tried to keep her composure. She got up and with her pen scribbled a note out for Tom. It's Ben, says we need to talk bout us. Tom could see the pain in her eyes and motioned to the door. She scribbled out another quick note as she spoke to Ben. if your uncomfortable you can go, but if you do I'll call you later. He sat and watched as she moved about the room as Ben talked.

"O.k. What do you want to talk about?" Ben hated to do this on the phone, but he needed her to know now, that way she could be prepared for her premier next weekend.

"Allison, you know I love you, and I will always have a soft spot for you deep in my heart. I just think you and I need some time apart. I feel like maybe we both need to figure out what is it we want from each other, or some one else." He took a deep breath waiting for her reaction, but he heard silence. As the seconds passed by he waited for her to yell or cry, but nothing. Finally after what seemed like an eternity he heard her sniffle and clear her throat before talking again.

"If that, um, if that's how you feel, then we will." He was upset, how could she give in like that.

"But how do you feel? Please talk to me." She knew he was upset by the tone in his voice, but she kept her soft, not knowing what to say to make him happy.

"What is there left to say, I'm not going to argue with you. Why would I try to get you to stay if this is something you want. Obviously this is something you've thought about, and you can't say it's not. Because when you just blurt things out you get a little tongue-tied and your lisp comes through, that sounded like you knew exactly what you were going to say to me before you even dialed my number." Ben exhaled audibly, knowing she knew him too damn well, because she was right. His voice was quiet now as he came clean.

"Allison, I've thought a lot about the women I met here, that night. Her name is Lillianna and she is just lovely, you would like her. I also know you and Tom deserve a chance together, I see how you two look at each other." Tears fell down Allison's face, but she tried to keep her voice from wavering.

"Maybe your right. I suppose that's it then. I already had most of my things packed and sent home anyway, from before I left. So now I will stay with Ceci until my premier is over, then I'm back to L.A." Tom knew she was upset, she was crying, but she kept her back to him anyway, not wanting him to see her yet. He sat on the edge of the seat, not knowing what else to do.

"Allison love please take your time, you can stay there as long as you need."

"Well I need to go. Goodbye." She didn't wait for his response, she just hung up and sunk to the floor in front of the fireplace. Tom slowly walked over and sat next to her, wrapping an arm around her as she turned and laid her head on his chest to cry. They both sat in silence for a long time as Allison cried, then calmed down. Soon she got up and walked around the room looking around.

"I've really just got some of my clothes left here, so I'm going to go pack up."

"You can always come stay in my spare room." She smiled a weak smile before she spoke.

"I don't think that would be a good idea Tom. I truly appreciate it, I just don't want to do anything to jeopardize our friendship or anything else that may be in our future."

"I understand darling, but I will wait for you and drive you over myself if that is alright with you." She walked over to him and held a hand out to him, as he stood up she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him close.

"You are too good to me Mr. Hiddleston, and I would like that." Allison pulled away and went upstairs to pack up the rest of her things. It was half an hour later as she came down, suitcase in hand ready to go. Tom put her suitcase in his car as she gathered the last of her things. She took the key to his flat and laid it on his entry way table before she left. Once outside she took a deep breath and headed down the steps to Tom's car. He stood there, holding the car door open for her before driving her to Cecilia's flat. He parked the car and Allison just sat there, eyes closed but tears still slipping out from beneath them.

"He found someone else." Her voice was so soft, it was barely whisper as she spoke, but Tom listened anyway, wanting to be there for her. He reached over and put his hand on hers, and turned her hand over holding his as she took a deep breath.

"I'm so sorry Allison. I know how badly this hurts, but it will get better." She slowly nodded before pulling her hand from his and getting out of the car. Tom got out and grabbed her suitcase from the trunk, taking it to the elevator.

"I can help you carry it all the way up."

"No, you don't have to."

"I know, but I will feel better when I see you with your friend." She looked up at him, trying to give him a smile, but he knew it was only for his benefit. They both headed up and soon Ceci opened the door and saw Allison standing there, tear soaked and knew something was wrong. She let both Allison and Tom in as Allison tried to explain what happened, but she just started crying. Ceci hugged her life long friend and Tom explained.

"From what she told me, Ben and her have split because he found someone else. I will leave her in your capable hands, but Allison, darling please do not hesitate to call me anytime you need talk. I told you I will always be here for you." Allison pulled from Ceci and turned to face Tom, hugging him tight.

"I know. Thank you for putting up with an emotionally compromised girl, you're a brave man Thomas, or an insane one. I'll talk to you soon." He pressed a kiss to the top of her head before pulling away.

"You better text or call me tomorrow, to let me know your alright. Goodbye."
