Antonio and Laura's House- 6 weeks later

"Morning," Gabby said as she joined Antonio and the family in the kitchen for breakfast. Today was the first day she was going back to work after Shay had died six weeks ago.

"Morning, how did you sleep?" Antonio asked, handing her a cup of coffee and sitting next to Laura at the kitchen table as the kids ate their breakfast.

"I'm okay. I need to go, otherwise I'm going to be late. I will see you tomorrow," She said kissing their cheeks before grabbing her duffle bag and walking out the front door towards her car.

Firehouse 51

"Sorry I'm late Chief," Gabby said, as she quickly walked into Firehouse 51 after visting the CFD Chaplain.

"It's fine Dawson. Meeting in the briefing room in five minutes," Chief Boden said as Peter Mills walked through the side door and onto the apparatus floor.

"Hey, how are you doing?" She asked, reaching up to hug Mills.

"Good as new. It's great to be back," he smiled as she gave small smile and stepped back before walking inside to get dressed. "How's she doing?"

Herrmann just turned and stared after Gabby and simply gave a sad smile and shrug before moving inside.

Westwood College

"Hey," Travis said walking up to Eva out on the school grounds.

"Hey yourself, so I was thinking we could go to Navy Pier tonight?" She asked as they started walking towards their first class together which was Spanish.

"Uh... I can't tonight sorry. I already have plans. I have to go, talk you later," He said rather quickly before running off in the opposite direction to the classroom.

"Hey girl, are you alright?" Chelsie Smith, her best friend, asked walking with her to the classroom.

"Yeah I'm fine, but Travis is acting really weird." She said twisting her hands together as they walked into the classroom.

"Maybe it's a surprise. I'm sure everything is fine," Chelsie said as they sat down at their desks.

Firehouse 51

"Hey," Casey said walking up to her bunk and sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Hey, I have an appointment tomorrow if you want to come. Its the eighteen week check up and we can find out the gender." Gabby said, looking up briefly from her book that she was reading.

"I'd love to. Gabby I'm sorry, you need to know that. If I knew you hadn't told Boden I wouldn't of said anything." He said, looking down at his hands before looking back at her.

"I forgive you," She said reaching over and kissing him just as the bells went off. They both groaned, as the calls hadn't stopped all day.

"Duty calls," They both say at the same time before rushing off to their respective vehicles.

6 hours later-Antonio and Laura's house

"Hey sweetie, how was school?" Laura asked as Eva walked into the kitchen that afternoon after school.

"Hey Mom, it was okay. Can I talk to you about something?" She asked, sitting at the kitchen bench on one of the stools.

"Yeah sure, what's wrong?" She asked, sitting next to her and turning to face her to give her the full attention.

"Travis was acting weird today. I mean, I asked if he wanted to go to Navy Pier tonight to hang out and he blew me off. Said he had plans. I don't know what to think Mom." She said, a single tear running down her cheek.

"Oh baby girl, I'm sure it's nothing. If you want we can get your brother and see what your father is doing and go to Navy Pier tonight. Together." Laura suggested, standing up to hug her daughter tightly and wiped away the stray tears that were still on her cheeks.

"Thanks Mom, I love you. I need to go do some English homework." Eva smiled, kissing her Mom's cheek before going to get her school bag.

"MOM!" Diego yelled as he walked through the door.

"Diego, you know the rules about yelling in the house," She scolded, walking into the hallway to hug him.

"Sorry Mom. I got an A on my Spanish and Science assignments!" He said excitedly as they walked towards the kitchen where Eva was doing her homework.

"Well done sweetie, do you have any homework?" She asked, sitting down with the kids after getting them something to eat.

"Yeah, Maths and PE." He replied, pulling out his Maths book.

1 hour later

"Dads home!" Antonio yelled as he walked through the door and hanging up his jacket. "Guys!"

"In the kitchen babe, they're doing their homework." Laura said, kissing him before they walked through to the kitchen.

"How was your day?" He asked, kissing both kids on the head and taking the offered cup of coffee from Laura.

"It was quiet, I was thinking we could all go to Navy Pier tonight." She said, leaning against the kitchen bench.

"Sounds like a great idea baby," He said, wrapping his arms around her and kissing her temple.

Firehouse 51

"How did your parents take the news of the baby?" Matt asked, as they sat together on the couch with Mouch and Pouch.

"As good as expected when their daughter tells them she's pregnant, they were fine with. Excited actually." Gabby said as Pouch laid on her lap and got a belly rub.

"We will all have to have dinner together," He suggested as Herrmann joined them by sitting on the armchair next to the sofa.

"So are you two back together and you can both stop moping about?" He asked straight out looking between Casey and Dawson.

"Yes Herrmann so you can stop worrying." Gabby teased with a smirk on her face.

"Cindy and I wanted to go out on Friday and I was wondering if you could look after the darkspawn...I mean lovely children?" He asked looking back at the TV as everyone chuckled.

"Yeah sure, we would love to. Wouldn't we Matt." Gabby said, turning her head to look at her boyfriend.

"Yeah sure, sounds like fun." He said but giving Herrmann a confused look as both Boden and him started laughing.
