Chapter XXXVI: A Ghost's Uprising Chance

Last Time.

"It's my weapon of choice when I use my telepathy." They ran outside to see all two of David's personalities with him and Charles. Ashura tapped the staff on the ground and caused a ripple that separated everyone as the masked man went and grabbed a hold of Lucas as Ian helped.

"NOW!" Ashura looked to Charles before speaking. "It's all up to you now, Charles."

Outside.

David fell to the ground as Ashura knelt down, holding on to his staff. "Why are you here Ashura?" Ashura looked up to Charles who spoke as Madelyn ran over to him after just arriving. "David's a friend from when I lived here before you found me, I overheard you saying he was in trouble and wanted to help." he explained as the others looked at him questioningly.

Later, Xavier's School For The Gifted.

The X-Men landed in the hangar as Naruto walked back inside to check on Kitty. Once he was about to go into her room, he heard a yell.

Running to Kurt's room, he saw a dirty and wet Kitty beating Kurt before he tuned out the sounds as he saw Kitty was wearing a thong before grabbing her, throwing her over his shoulder and taking her back to his room. All the while, Kitty continued to shout at Kurt.

Now.

Xavier's School For The Gifted, Nighttime.

Kage walked past a TV that was left on showing another dome appearing around another pyramid in China before it switched to show Duncan working in a mine being interviewed. "I was hoping I wouldn't see him again." Naruto said before the news show went to an alley where flaming spikes are in the ground before groaning.

"Storm's not going to like this." He walked to the elevator, passing a window showing Police pass the entrance and went down. There, he saw the adults talking about Evan and him attacking Duncan who tried to attack Sam and Amara. As well as Charles looking for him via Cerebro.

"There, he's in the sewers underneath Lilithia and Ashley Street." Charles said removing his helmet. "I'm going." Storm said turning around before Charles turned to speak. "Wait Storm, someone else should go." She turned back to the group at that. "But Charles, he's my nephew."

"Evan's made his own choices, you know that." She sighed at that. "But he's my family." Charles nodded before speaking. "And he's also a rebellious teenager. And for that reason, a family member may not be the right choice." Naruto moved away and hid before Charles turned around.

"Me?!" Logan asked as Naruto reappeared. "Yeah, send the guy that's doing the deed with his aunt. That'll go over well." Storm had the decency to blush as Logan sighed. "Okay, I'll talk to him about attacking creeps and jerks that deserve it. But you'll be lucky if I don't join him myself."

S.H.I.E.L.D.

Fury went to Trasks cell and opened it. "You're coming with me, Trask." The duo walked to a command center where Fury explained he was ordered to let Trask go and bring back the Sentinels. "Whatever threat these domes are, we intend to be ready."

Sewers, A Few Hours Later.

Wolverine walked in the sewers before sniffing then released his claws as a man appeared on the walls. "Let's keep this peaceful, Gecko boy. I just want to talk." The man disappeared having Wolverine sheath his claws. "So, what's with you?" Wolverine looked to see Spyke walk up.

He now has bone plates that surround his upper body like armour with spikes around his arms.

"I kind of expected my aunt." Wolverine sighed at that before crossing his rams. "She'd just want to hug you. But since you're a big boy now, you get me." Spyke just looked at him. "So what's the problem? Like I'd have to ask." Wolverine sighed before uncrossing his arms. "Your... actions have Charles deeply concerned." He said with air quotes.

"I got one question for you, Logan. Do you think what I'm doing is wrong?" Wolverine rubbed the back of his head at that. "Bub, I'll be honest with you. In your place, at your age, I'd do the same thing. But I'm a part of the bigger picture now. There's trouble brewing all over the World and people are way too tense."

"We have a right to walk down the street!" Spyke yeled as Wolverine nodded. "Yes, you do." Wolverine said before Spyke continued. "The mutants that don't get to live in the mansion."

"Because Callisto thinks they'll be attacked. I gave her and the others here the invite to come to the mansion. Ororo was even going to homeschool them." Kage said walking around the corner. "So don't give me the whole 'we can't live in a mansion because of what we look like' speech."

Xavier's School For The Gifted, Late Evening.

Naruto was watching the TV in his room as Tabithah was kissing down his chest and went under the covers. "Now for my prize!" Naruto rolled his eyes before quickly sitting up, and gently bopping Tabitha on the head. "OW!" She yelled coming out of the covers, showing that she took her top off. "I'm trying to do something here!"

"Sorry, a clone saw Duncan throwing grenades into the sewers." He got up and quickly got dressed before looking over his shoulder. "Nice new piercings, by the way." She smiled as she lifted her chest. "Thanks!" Naruto, Scott, Jean, Emma, Rachel, Ororo, Charles, and Logan left to the XM-Velocity and took off as a mob was outside at the gates.

They flew down to see Duncan and his friends attack Spyke and the Morlocks with laser mining equipment. Rachel and Jean created a shield around the helicopter before the others jumped down and attacked. Wolverine slashed several weapons as Naruto created clones that dealt with the others.

The Police came just as Naruto kicked one person away before a kid with pale, greenish skin stood in front of Spyke. Duncan shot at him, forcing Spyke to get in front and take the blast as he created a shield from his spikes. The kid suddenly screamed as a burst of energy rolled off of him.

"STOP!"

The lights went out on the block as Jean and Rachel suddenly fell onto Naruto as Emma's diamond skin receded. "Ow..." Naruto trailed off as the two women sat on his back.

The boy's mother ran over to him and chastised Evan for exposing her son as a mutant before leaving as the lights turned on and everyone's powers returned. The police arrested Duncan and his friends for using weapons and grenades having Naruto wave at him with a smirk.

Storm tried to get Spyke to come back but he declined to stay and protect the Morlocks.

On a rooftops across the street, Fury looked at what happened before sighing. "I'm glad that Stark decided on letting you help out." He said looking back to a man in a highly sophisticated armor suit. It's painted in red and gold colors with a light in the chest.

"No problem, the boss man wants to help deal with whatever is inside those domes anyway. Plus, he felt it was for everyone's best interest that Trask stays focused on setting his Sentinels on the domes, instead of aiming them right back at mutants." The man said before thrusters came out of his hands and boots before taking off flying.

"I wonder why Iron Man is working for Tony Stark?" Fury said before walking off with his hands in his pockets.

A few days later, Naruto stood with Charles as they helped Rogue deal with what she did to Mystique in the gazebo where it happened. She screamed out as she lived the memory as well as a large statue of Mystique glaring at her. "You're doing fine, Rogue." She groaned in frustration before looking at them.

"I can't do this anymore! This isn't even working." Naruto frowned at that. "We never said it would be easy. But you need to get passed your mother's betrayal." She looked down before picking up her backpack for school. "I think I just need to get away from everything." She said walking off.

"Is it true? You're thinking of leaving?" Rogue stopped in her tracks as Naruto followed her out to the woods. "Maybe. There's nothing you can say that'll keep me here." She said walking away.

"Will you marry me?"

She stopped mid step at that and looked back in shock. "... What?" Naruto smiled as he held diamond ring with a green band. "Will you marry me?" She stared at the ring, slack jawed for a moment, her brain having shut down. "Rogue, I love you. I don't want to lose you, I need you in my life."

"So, is it a yes, or no?" She looked down before dropping her bag and leaped in his arms. He spun her around before stopping and held her close as he heard several squealing from the mansion.

A Week Later, Canyons Just Outside Bayville.

Naruto sat on his dirtbike as Amara, Sam, Bobby, Logan, Kitty, Kurt, and Rogue sat on ATV's or dirt bikes of their own. "Enjoy it while it lasts. This whole place will be the new reservoir." Logan said as they looked around and saw a small stream. "Everyone partner up! Sam, you're with me."

Everyone drove off, with Kitty surprisingly being a slow driver as everyone but Naruto sped off. "I thought your lead foot would translate to off-road!" She took a right turn, missing Rogue turning left and went higher on the canyon trail. Naruto followed her and saw rocks fall just ahead of them.

"KITTY!" Naruto got up on the seat and jumped just as she went off the cliff and fell. Naruto grabbed her and turned so his back hit a rock and Kitty phased them throw another. Naruto tumbled, making sure he got all the damage before grabbing a ledge. He groaned as blood seeped into his clothes before the ledge broke and they fell twenty feet to the ground, Naruto turning to land on his back.

He groaned as someone pulled them away from falling rocks. "Naruto!" Kitty yelled checking on Naruto before he got up. "I'm fine, Kitty." He said looking to see an Native American girl around his age. She has long black hair with two pony tails pulled in front on her shoulders with wrappings around them and earrings.

She's wearing a green sleeveless shirt showing her cleavage a beaded choker and matching belt, and tight cargo pants with hiking boots.

"Thanks..." Naruto trailed off as she smiled. "I'm Danielle... You must be a mutant, like me!" Naruto blinked at that as the others rode towards them.

Later, Xavier's School For The Gifted.

Kitty watched from the door of Charles office as he talked to Danielle about living and enrolling in the school. Naruto walked by as Rogue apologized about going ahead. "It's alright Rogue, I was with her. I didn't think she'd be slow either, considering she's a lead foot on the asphalt."

Rachel skipped over just as Danielle walked out and down the hall having Rachel stop in her tracks and stare at Danielle's ass as she left. "Who's the hot piece of ass?" She asked as Charles asked for everyone to meet downstairs telepathically. Everyone met downstairs as Charles wheeled in.

"Everyone, I'd like you to meet our newest student, Danielle Moonstar."

Later, Iceman, Cannonball, Kage, Jean in her costume, Sunspot, and Danielle in her new uniform were at a stream as Storm flew above them. "Today, we'll practice unforeseen situations. Storm created a thunderstorm as Jean floated away to show them a floating dock and a flag on the other side.

"Your goal: Get your team to the other side and claim the flag despite some... surprises along the way." Everyone got on before Sunspot powered up and pushed them off. Only for Shadowcat to phase his feet on the ground. "Surprise number one. You get left behind."

Cannonball jumped in the water and used his powers to get the others halfway across only for Nightcrawler to poof in front of him. "Surprise number two. You lose a team member." He teleports him away having Iceman create an ice bridge. He and Danielle ran across.

Only for lightning to hit it and had the duo fall in the water. Danielle screamed and Naruto noticed Jean, Nightcrawler, and Shadowcat do the same. "Guys!" Naruto yelled only to hold his head. "Kit! Danielle's losing control of her powers from her fear!" Naruto ran over and jumped to the screaming Danielle before picking her up.

"Danielle! It's okay, you're fine." Naruto said trying to calm her down as the storm died down. "Easy everyone, you're all okay. It was just in your heads. Courtesy of our new team member." Naruto looked up to him, still holding Danielle who was panting looking around in a panic.

Later, Naruto stood outside the office before Danielle stormed out. "You alright, Danielle?" She sighed and explains she loses control of her powers and makes people near her view their worst nightmare. "Well, that's why you're here, to learn control. Kitty here phased through her bed at first, and still does after a good long-OOF!"

Naruto stopped as a blushing Kitty punched him in the stomach. "S-she doesn't need to know that!" Naruto smirked before looking to Danielle. "Don't let today get to you. Kitty and I are here for you."

Later that night, Naruto went to get a snack from the kitchen in blue pajama pants as Kitty ran in. They saw Charles, Ororo shakily pouring tea, and Logan who grabbed her hand in his to steady her. They talked about dreaming their worst fears as Naruto raised an eyebrow.

"Well, Danielle never left her room, I put seals in place for something like that after the Hellfire Club incident. And I trust Kitty if she says Danielle never left."

Morning.

"Danielle!" Naruto jolted awake throwing Wanda off of him. "What the hell? You sleep all day yesterday, then you just throw me off?!" Naruto blinked at that before running out and saw Kitty's room was missing a bed. "The hell?" He ran downstairs and into Kitty. "You remember Danielle, right?" She asked as he nodded. "Yeah, why?"

She explained no one remembers Danielle and says she was asleep in bed since coming back from their off road trip. "So... Danielle either erased everyone's memories, which doesn't add up as she would erase yours as well. Or..." She looked up to him. "Or what?"

"She was trying to contact us in our dream, which would explain why we slept so long. Let's get going." He turned to move, only to stop as the hals turned green and water ripped down. "Yeah, she's contacting us all..." He trailed off seeing a ghost Danielle. "Oh, shit!" He yelled as she raised her hands. "Help me..."

The mansion returned to normal before looking to Kitty. "Get dressed, we'll go to her home and get answers." She ran off, got dressed and returned with Kurt. "Get us as close to Dark Hollow as you can get us." Kurt just sighed at that. "Okay, fine."

BAMF!

Dark Hollow.

They arrived in a small town that was deserted before Kitty heard a phone ring from a telephone booth. "Wow, this is an old town. Didn't those disappear in '98?" They walked to her and saw the line was cut. "Kitty, calm down and think. Why would she bring you to the phone booth?"

Naruto asked before seeing a phone book and went through it. "There, Moonstar 70, Maggie Blue Road." Naruto blinked at that. "Maggie Blue? Where have I heard that name before?" Naruto asked before they ran down the street. Getting to the address, they saw an elderly Native American rocking on a rocking chair.

"Are you Black Eagle?" The man sighed as he nodded before explaining the people left not wanting to be near his granddaughter who made their worst fears come to life. And she went into the canyon two years ago and went missing. "Let's try that area of the canyon where we wreaked, that's where she first came to us."

They went to the area and started to look around the stream, as the water started to rise. "Shit, that must be what she meant. Sh must be stuck somewhere where the water's rising for the reservoir." Naruto said before looking to Kurt. "Go back and let the others know where we are, we'll bring Danielle back with us when we find her."

Naruto picked Kitty up and went to where they crashed to see that the water created a pond. "Hold on, re-breathers." Naruto said unsealing two re-breathers for them. They jumped down in the water and Kitty phased them through the ground and into a cavern. "She's over there."

Naruto ran to a blue glow before seeing a sleeping Danielle glowing a bright blue. She woke up and smiled seeing Naruto and Kitty before Naruto grabbed her and disappeared with Kitty.

The Next Day, Xavier's School For The Gifted, Med Bay.

Naruto smiled as Danielle woke up as Kitty sat by her bed. "Hey, your grandfather is coming to pick you up." Naruto said as Charles explained to Kurt and Logan that Danielle's powers put her in hibernation for two years to keep her alive.
