And the Winner is...

A little Problem: Chippythedancingsquirrel (I swear you were not chosen because of how awesome your name is!) Well Done to everyone who entered, all your stories were amazing and I had such fun reading them. It wasn't of case of whose was the best because they were all brilliant, this was my favourite out of all of them and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did.

The vent was dark and strangely comforting as Dick navigated his way through the metal maze. It had been many years since he had been able to fit in these vents, let alone stop and sit comfortably, if slightly hunched over. He listened, trying to hear if Bats was concocting a plan to get him out but he was met with silence which in some ways worried him more.

Leaning against the cool metal of the vent he clicked the metal bar through his tongue against his teeth, so much trouble over something so stupid. Why was it so important that he take it out? He wasn't going to be in this state forever and it would just be a pain to put it back in again later. Then again this whole day was turning out to be one great big pain in the ass. Part of him wished that his mind had been affected as well as his body, at least then he would be slightly less aware of how embarrassing this all was.

He looked down at his clothes that he had changed into when he had awoken at the mountain, his shirt and pants were some of the first clothes Bruce (Or rather Alfred) had ever brought him, he smiled sadly. How much he had changed in the last 10 years. Getting over his moment of melancholy he started to crawl in the direction of the holding cells, the sooner he got back to his normal form the sooner he could go back to ignoring everything his mentor said, it was a little hard to outright defy the Dark Knight when you only just came up to his elbow.

He was getting closer to the air vent opening above the cells when he heard voices coming from below.

"Tell me, now!" There was a crash and Dick moved a bit faster to peer through the vent. Below him he could see the tops of Superman, Wonder woman and Flash's heads and from what he could gather from his limited line of sight, Batman was interrogating the meta human they had picked up in a way only The Batman could.

"You might want to tell him what he wants to know, if you value your health." Said Flash

"You made a big mistake when you hurt Nightwing, and I don't think our friend if very happy about it." Said Diana, Dick had never heard her sound so menacing, she was really mad. Dick heard the sound of a whimper and he could just imagine the mans face as the Dark Knight brought his cowl closer.

"How do we reverse it?" Batman said in a slow menacing growl.

"It can't be reversed; once the mind has reverted back to its infant form there is no way to bring it back." The man stuttered

"His mind wasn't changed" said Superman "only his body." There was a moments silence and Dick guessed the Meta human must be looking confused because Diana said "What's wrong?"

"If his mind did not change also then there must have been something physical from his older state that wasn't preset when he was a child and has significant meaning to him, that would allow him to retain his memories and therefore not allow the mind to be reverted. That's the only thing I can think of...I swear!"

"So what does that mean?"

"In theory if the mind is unchanged the magic will wear off the body in a day or so, though I'm sure he will exhaust himself within a matter of hours since the body would have gone through some excessive trauma. Just as long as whatever it is keeping the memories of his adult life is not removed he should be fine...please don't hurt me!" Batman reappeared after dropping the man.

"The question is now what is it we have to make sure stays put?" said Flash scratching his head

"Isn't it obvious" growled Batman "It's that bloody piercing."

Dick chuckled quietly to himself before heading back to the opening in the vent. He felt like a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders; he was going to be fine and now Batman could say nothing about his piecing since it had ultimately saved his life.

****Break Line*****

Batman strode back into the living room of the Mountain to see Nightwing sat calmly on the couch smiling up at him.

"I take it you heard everything?"

"Of courth" the ninja giggled getting up and walking over the back of the couch to get closer to him.

"Don't think this means you're getting away with it" said Batman, this caused Nightwing to chuckle before his smile dropped and he suddenly looked unsteady on his feet. "Are you alright?" asked Bats

"Yeh, I just feel really tired all of a thudden." He tried to wave off his mentors concern but his legs gave out and he fell into Batman's out stretched arms.

"He said you would feel tired, go to sleep, when you wake up this will all be over." The small form nodded groggily before his eyes closed and he was once again dreaming. Batman carried him through the halls to his room; he changed him into some baggy pyjamas and tucked him into bed. In the darkness he could just make out the small figure. He stroked his hand over the soft back locks on the boys head before placing a light kiss on his forehead.

"Sweet dreams Dickie." He would miss seeing Dick this age but now he realised how amazing his son had turned out and no matter how old he got, Dick would always be his Robin, the light to his darkness.

****Break Line ****

The next morning Dick sank into a chair at the breakfast table opposite Wally.

"Good to see you back to yourself" said M'gann "How are you feeling?"

"Severely hung over" said Nightwing resting his chin on his hand "Which is strange, that's the longest night sleep I've had in years and yet I feel worse that before I fell asleep." He looked over the take at Wally who was staring at him. "What?"

"Now I know it's there, I can't help but notice It." said the ginger. Nightwing rolled his eyes behind his glasses, poking his tongue out at his friend to revel clearly the bar that had caused so much drama the day before. The ginger tilted his head to the side "How the hell did you get it past Bats for 3 years?"

Nightwing shrugged "Just don't act guilty, that's how I hid my tattoos as well" at that he got up from the table and headed for the gym, leaving the martain and the speeder in stunned silence, wondering whether or not he was joking.
