Mike's heart dropped when the teacher said the words.. Emily's trapped inside.
Without thinking about the consequences, he ran inside the building, not listening to the fire fighter calling him to get out. He covered his mouth with his t-shirt and ran through the smoke. Teachers and children running in a blind panic the opposite way towards to door. Mike didn't care about his own life, at this point all he wanted to do was find his daughter.

He heads straight towards her classroom where she would have been last but she wasn't there. He checked all the cupboards and hiding places she could be but then he remembered what the teacher said; she was trapped inside, meaning she could be anywhere.

'EMILY, EMILY.' Mike shouted through the coughs, he could feel his lungs burning but he didn't care. After 15 minutes of walking through the school with no luck he heard a little whimper coming from one of the classrooms. The door was stuck, there must have been something in its way on the other side. He kicked as hard as he could and managed to break the door off its hinges. Mike looked around and there she was in the corner. Emily was being held hostage by a masked man with a gun. Mike knew exactly who he was. Mike used to investigate this person, he was sent to prison not long ago. The man must of found out about Mike's daughter and tracker her down. He wanted his revenge.

'I have her and now I have you.' Mike was still in shock, he didn't know what to do. He didn't have his gun and his phone was dead. He made his way slowly towards the man with his hands up in surrender.

'Let her go. Please.' Mike had tears streaming down his face. Emily was in a trance. She had no emotion. She didn't know whether to cry or scream or run or anything, she just stood there staring at the wall.

Mike moved a little closer towards the 2. He knew he had to be careful because one stupid move could cost Emily her life.
'Please let her go and we can forget the whole thing. You can run and have your freedom, I don't care, just please let my daughter go.' Mike was full blown crying now. His lungs screaming for oxygen.
The man hesitated for a minute thinking about what Mike was offering. Then he suddenly felt the girl he was holding fall to the ground. Emily had passed out.

'EMILY.' Mike screamed and ran to her. The man felt threatened and fired his gun. Mike felt a sharp pain in his chest. He looked at Emily on the floor and the man holding the gun. He felt himself falling, and hit the ground hard next to Emily. The masked man made a run for it but didn't get very far as the Firemen and LAPD barged their way into the room. After seeing the 2 on the ground, one covered in blood, they immediately called 911.

Back at the house an hour later.

'Where's Mike and Emily, they should have been home over an hour ago? 'Charlie asking anybody who was listening.
'Mike said he had some exciting things planned for the both of them so he's probably taken her out somewhere.' Briggs answered not looking up from his paperwork on the couch.
Just then the phone rang. Charlie answered.

'Hello. What's happened? Oh my God, Are they okay? Where are they? We will be right there.' Charlie hung up and gathered everybody together. Briggs had heard the conversation and was already by her side.

'What's going on?' Paige asked as she walked down the stairs, followed by Johnny and Jakes.
'There has been an accident at Emily's school.' Charlie started tearing up.
'The school caught on fire and Emily was trapped inside. Mike went into to find her and she was being held hostage by a masked man, someone who Mike had investigated in the past.' Charlie paused and started to lose control of her emotions.

'Emily passed out from smoke inhalation and Mike got shot in the chest. They are at the hospital now but they said Mike is in bad shape.' The house looked shocked. They were crying and speechless. They immediately ran to the car and headed to the hospital.
