Beast Boy's POV

When the birds started to attack Slade, the others stopped fighting Slade so they wouldn't get in the way of the birds' onslaught. I looked back at Lena in wonder. Whoa…she just told the birds to attack Slade…this is so cool! I want to be a part of it! So I turned into a hawk and joined the swarm of birds and attacked Slade with all my might. It was more difficult than I thought, because not only did I have to avoid his eyes, but I had to avoid his fists too. I noticed with concern that his fists did connect with some of the birds, sending them flying backwards. Man, I hope they're okay…

"That's enough guys. It's my turn now!" cried Lena in bird-talk. I looked at her and noticed that she was on fire. Oh yeah she's on fire! Hey, I just made a pun! Then I noticed the other birds leaving so I left too. I flew to where the Robin and the others were, and turned back into a human.

"This ends now!" I heard Lena cry. The next thing I knew, Lena landed a kick right in the middle of his face. I winced in fake sympathy. Ooh, that's got to hurt! Woo-hoo! He got hurt!

"Come on guys, let's help her!" exclaimed Cyborg. Before we could respond, he was already charging to Slade and gave him a nice punch to the gut.

"You heard him. Titan's go!" ordered Robin. We all nodded our approval and ran to fight Slade. And so we fought, Robin with his bo, Starfire with her starbolts, Cyborg with his fists, Lena with her fiery fists and legs, and beautiful Raven with her magic. And as we fought, I couldn't help but notice that we were getting the upper hand.

"We're kicking his butt!" I pointed out excitedly to Lena.

"Yeah," commented Lena stoically. In this brief respite, I looked at Lena curiously. Instead of looking happy that Slade was going down, or even just concentrated on the fight, she looked worried.

"What's the matter Lena?" I asked.

"He's not being affected by my fire!" she exclaimed.

"What?!" I cried.

"How is that possible?" asked Starfire who was next to us.

"It's actually quite possible Starfire," replied Slade as he grabbed a tree branch and pulled himself up. We all looked at him as he stood on the tree branch, looking down at us.

"Lena's fire can't hurt me because ever since I had the Spirit of the Basilisk. And basilisks are immune to magic," Slade continued. I was taken back at that. Wait, that doesn't make sense…

"That's a big lie! Because one, fire isn't magical! And two, if you were immune to magic, wouldn't you not be able to use your magic?" I shot back.

"Lena's gift of fire is magic you idiot. And I'm immune to magic besides my own," Slade answered.

"I'm immune to your magic too, aren't I? That's why phoenixes are the mortal enemies of basilisks. Because phoenixes are the only creatures that can kill basilisks," Lena stated. I gasped as that statement reminded me of what Lena said yesterday. Wow, was it only yesterday when we found out that Lena wasn't turned to stone when Trigon came? And is the reason why she wasn't because she was immune to magic? It must be.

"Don't forget that basilisks can kill phoenixes too. Just look at how many phoenixes Lucas, the basilisk that gave me my powers, killed," pointed out Slade. My heart gave a really loud thump while Lena gasped. Is this Lucas, the same basilisk that killed James' flock?

"The only reason Lucas gave me his spirit was because he was too old to come here and kill you himself, Lena," Slade commented.

"Your point?" Cyborg almost growled.

"The point is, the time has come to honor his last wish," answered Slade. Immediately, he jumps off the tree branch and over all of our heads. Before we could react, he then ran with his super-speed till he was a few yards beyond us.

"Come back here you coward!" shouted Robin. Yeah! Though, Slade isn't a coward. And he wants to kill Lena. What's going on? Then, Slade's whole body started to glow yellow-green. My mouth dropped open in shock. What the…My feet were rooted to the ground with fear as Slade's freaky glow grew so bright that we couldn't see Slade anymore.

"Lena! Do you know what he's doing?" asked Raven. Lena shook her head as Slade's glow grew so tall that I had to bent my head all the way back just to see how tall it got. We all just stood there, watching the light get taller and taller. Suddenly, the glow stopped. But I didn't feel relief. Instead, I felt the complete opposite.

"Lena…is that…what I think it is?" I asked squeakily, my legs shaking uncontrollably. Please say no, it isn't. Please say no, it isn't…

"If you're thinking if that is a basilisk, then yes. I've never seen one before, but I'm pretty sure that Slade just turned into a basilisk," Lena answered.

Dun dun dunnnn...Stuff just got crazier. Well, what do you think? Did you like how I connected stuff from earlier to this chapter? Did you see the end coming? Was this chapter written well? Please tell me! And hey, maybe if I get enough reviews, I will be motivated to make time to update sooner! Till the next update, see ya and have a good day/night!
