Jacob grabs my hand and starts pulling me out of the house. "No werewolf or vampire stuff tonight. It's just gonna be you and me." We exit the house and he runs over to his motorcycle, climbing on it and looking at me expectantly.
"Wow, haven't seen this bad boy in while." I laugh, straddling the motorcycle. Jacob grabs my hands from behind and wraps them around his waist.
"There ya go." He says.
"Hey, I won't complain." I reply.
With that, he laughs and speeds off. I'm unsure of where we're heading until I start to smell the saltwater a mile away. A smile forms on my lips as soon as I realize this.
Jacob continues on the road for around another ten minutes until he stops in the middle of the street by the woods. He gets off the bike as I sit, waiting. "We're here." He says with a grin. I raise my eyebrows and look around. Besides a few trailers and a gas station, there's not much around.
"Where is here, Jacob?" I ask with a laugh, climbing off the bike. He grabs the handles and steers it into the woods. "Are we going for a run?" I followed after him as we crossed through the trees. It was dark by now, and the werewolf part of me was allowing me to see.
"We have to run to get to this place." Jacob says, looking at me with a smirk.
"Ooh, sounds fancy." I say. "I have something to confess." He cocks an eyebrow in anticipation. "So, I always tell everyone that I hate surprises because I hate people going out of their way for me, but I'm kind of excited about this surprise."
Jacob leans his motorcycle on a tall tree and stops to look at me. "I think you'll like this one, too." We both separated and went behind our respective trees. Jacob spoke from behind his, "This run will be kind of a long one, but that just makes it more fun." I heard a soft growl after that statement. I shifted soon after and came around the tree.
I took off behind Jacob. It was after around 10 minutes of running that I noticed how powerful he truly was. Even out on a casual run, he just somehow radiated the strength of a leader. Why was he not the alpha of the pack?
"I didn't want to be, love." His thought in my own brain stopped mine.
"Why not?" I asked him. Jacob slowed a bit to let me catch up and run beside him.
"I just didn't like the idea of people bowing down to me and expecting me to yell at them every second. Sam is a good alpha, anyways. They don't need me."
"Yeah, I get that. You wouldn't have to make them bow or anything, though. You can still be their friend, like Sam. You're almost a bigger wolf than Sam, too. I see the power and maturity in you. If you really wanted it, you would do amazing. But, I completely understand that you don't want it." I tell him.
Jacob responds, "Just not right now. I haven't completely ruled it out for the future." I send understanding through our own personal mind link. I still wonder how exactly that happened. Sam said he would do research on it, but we haven't heard back from him.
I travel alongside Jacob the rest of the 15 minutes it takes to get there. I slow to stop as I look ahead in awe. A small house, almost like a cottage, sits on part of a cliff overlooking the lake. Little tiki torches lead a trail up to the patio steps, and I go behind a tree to change before coming back out. Instead of walls are huge, thick windows, letting the moon shine through to the house.
I open the door and am welcomed by a beautiful living room with wood flooring and suede black couches. A huge fireplace sits in the center of the room. I'm still standing in the doorway whenever Jacob's hands fall on my hips and he leans his chin down on my shoulder.
"This house is kind of a family heirloom. It's like a wedding gift to the next person in the family who gets married..." He says.
I turn to face him. "But… we're not married."
"Or the next person who imprints. It's usually the imprinting thing" He continues. Jacob takes my hand and leads me down another hallway going into the dining room and kitchen on a mini-tour.
"My dad hasn't set foot in this house since my mother passed. The day after I imprinted on you, he gave me the key. I've been touching it up and making adjustments for a couple weeks now. Just for when I would think it would feel special. It does now, to me."
My amazement continues as he takes me into the guest bedroom. "So, one of us will sleep in here." He says, then takes me hand and pulls me across the hallway. It's a much bigger room than the previous. Obviously the master. The windows continue in this room with another smaller fireplace, as well as a couch, desk, and a king size bed. "And the other will sleep in here."
"Or… we could both sleep in here…" He says, this time in my head.
I turn to face him. "Jacob, this place is beautiful. I can't believe you have this. It's amazing." He grins.
"And I haven't even shown you the best part yet. Close your eyes." I close them immediately, waiting for him to grab my hand. He does, and pulls me through the house again, until I hear a door open and my feet touch cement. "Okay, open."
I slowly open my eyes. A pool and a hot tub sit before me. Water spouts pour into both with fancy lights in them. The size of them combined is almost the size of a tiny house.
However, almost as soon as the excitement came, it went away, and nervousness replaced it. I hadn't brought a swimsuit. Was he expecting…?
Jacob went around to face me and furrowed his eyebrows. "What's wrong, hun, why are you nervous?" Damn mind link. "
"It's just, I don't have anything to swim in." I told him. Jacob smiles before yanking me back in the house and opening the dresser in the master bedroom. It has a bathing suit and a couple spare changes of clothes. I look at him and raise an eyebrow. "Explain."
"A couple of days ago I asked Bella if she could grab those to 'spread your scent around' so the bloodsuckers would be off track. Really, I just took it here."
A smile spread across my lips. I jumped up on Jacob, wrapping my legs around his waist as my mouth crashed onto his. He kissed back with a smile. "It's perfect, and you're perfect, and everything is just perfect right now. Thank you so much."
"Don't thank me. I wanted to. I love you." I slowly pulled back with a wide smile as he set me on the floor again.
"I love you, too."
An hour later and Jacob and I are sitting in the hot tub together with our eyes closed, enjoying the silence together and nothing else. I quickly and easily get lost in thought. Was he expecting something to happen tonight? Was I ready for it?
I think back on my past relationships. Dating was hard since I was so ahead in my grade. No guy wanted to date me. I've never done anything sexual. Jacob was my first kiss. It's not like I didn't want anything to happen. Did I? I just don't know how.
"Don't know how to what?" Jacob asks, looking sideways at me. I turn to face him.
"Sometimes it's easy to forget that you can hear all of my thoughts. It's nothing. Don't worry about it, babe." I tell him, pecking his nose. He grabs my hips and pulls me to him so I'm straddling him.
Jacob buries his face into my throat, running his nose and lips along my jaw sensually. "I think I might have an idea of what you mean." My hands instinctively go up into his hair as he finds that one spot on my neck that always feels right. My head naturally tilts as I hold his head there.
This time, he lingers there longer than usual, swirling his tongue around on it. My hips jerk by themselves without me thinking. Jacob groans and brings me closer to him, nipping at the spot in return. A gasp flies out of my mouth when I feel something hard against my thigh. I rock my hips against him again, and he breathes out an open mouthed kiss on my neck. A moan comes out from my throat. This is a new thing to me and I'm definitely not wanting to stop it.
Jacob sucks on that same spot and around it for what feels like eternity before slowly pulling away. My breathing slows as I pull back and look at him while still straddling him. "That was a new experience." I say.
"Yeah, I'm sorry, Elle, my self control just went all out the window. It's this new mind link thing. All my feelings are combined with yours." His thumb rubs across where his lips were.
"Don't apologize, it was nice." I tell him. "And yes, that's the stuff I was talking about… I don't know how any of it works." I climb off of him in embarrassment. He probably thinks I'm some prude.
Jacob turns to face me again. "Don't be embarrassed. Honestly, it's kind of relieving that I'm the only guy who will ever touch you like that. I won't push you to do anything you're not ready for. But…" He looks away from me, as if trying to find the words. "If you ever want to experience something like it… you just have to ask."
He gives me a warm smile after this statement. I lean forward and give him a peck on the lips. "Thank you. I love you." I stand and start to make my way to the house. "I'm gonna go hop in the shower and wash off the chlorine. Don't leave without me." I joke at him.
As soon as I'm back in the house, I go straight to the bathroom. I study my reflection and gasp when I see a large purple bruise on my neck in the same spot Jacob was practically living earlier. A hickey. A smile spreads across my lips. I get in the shower, turning the water as hot as it gets, and I decide when I know Jacob can't hear me. All I have to do is ask. Maybe I'll do that.
