Chapter 36: I Love You
Third person's POV
Jack stood outside of Elsa's cage-room. He sighed as he watched her struggle against the chains he wrapped around her hands and leg. It was charmed with a spell by North to keep her from breaking it.
"Let go of me you ingrates! You will all be destroyed! Pitch is coming for you!" she screamed.
"Elsa, calm down," Jack said. The cage-room was actually a real cage. But instead of air in between the bars, there is magical glass.
"Kind of hard when you have kept me here for a week already!" she snapped.
"What happened? How did he turn you into this?" Jack asked, his voice cracking towards the end.
"He taught me that love does not exist, and everything in the world is cold, dark and evil!" she sneered. Jack's heart shattered a little by little as he watched her struggle, shouting words at him.
In the other cage-room, sat Flynn in a heap of glowing hair and plants. Punzie watched him struggle, feeling very sad and confused. Questions filled her head. How is he here? Isn't he dead? Why does he think we're evil? What did Pitch do to him? Why can't he remember her?
The last question shattered her heart. A few days ago, Flynn had tried to escape through the shadows. It had shocked them of his powers. But it could be contained by light. So, Punzie was certified as the body guard, because of her glowing hair. She sang softly as she watched him.
Flynn glared at the blond standing outside his cage. She sang softly as her hair glowed. At first it shocked him. He couldn't use his powers. He was trapped. He could hear Asle screaming down the hallway. He took in the look of his guard.
She was shorter than him, and had really long blond hair. Her frying pan was in her hand as always. She never seemed to go anywhere without it. But, he was mostly drawn to her eyes. Big, bright, green eyes, that looked at him sadly. He felt confused. Why is this witch feeling sad for him? He was even more shocked when silent tears slid down her face.
Flynn could feel his face softening. His heart was feeling sad as he watched her cry, as if just seeing her sad broke his heart. He didn't understand what he was feeling. Like he was connected to her. He shook his head at the thought. No way, he could never have been with someone that evil. But, was she really evil?
He was so frustrated. Losing his memories only increased his confusion. What was he in the past? Was he really just like how his father described it? Where was his father? He should be here to save them by now.
Merida and Hiccup were pacing around, trying to figure out what to do. Snow and Asland looked at them paced around.
"Hiccup! What are we going to do? How is Punzie's supposed to be dead husband, alive?" Merida asked.
"I don't know. No one can do that, right?" Hiccup asked.
"I don't know! I'm not the smart one here!" Merida exclaimed. They stayed silent, until Merida broke the silence.
"So, what's the plan?" Snow asked.
"Why are you asking me? Jack's the one in charge here," Hiccup said, pointing to the door.
"I don't think he'll be able to come up with a plan right now. Seeing Elsa, and hearing her scream like that," Asland answered. Hiccup thought for a moment. Then, he snapped his fingers.
"That's it!" Hiccup exclaimed.
"What's it?" Merida asked, confused.
"Well, we don't know what happened, or how Eugene got here. But we do know, is that Elsa's trapped in the necklace Jack gave her right?" Hiccup started. Merida nodded and waited for him to continue.
"That means, Elsa may have seen what happened and can tell us!" Hiccup said.
"But how are we going to get Elsa to talk. You can easily tell she's not going to answer," Merida scoffed.
"We need to get Elsa, the real Elsa, back to normal first. Then, she can help us understand. She seems to know much more than any of us," Hiccup replied.
"How are we going to get her back?" Merida asked.
"I don't know," Hiccup sighed.
"I think I know," Merida said, after a moment of silence.
"Really?" Hiccup, Asland and Snow asked, looking up.
"Maybe, just maybe, if she spends time with Jack, Jack could bring her back. You saw how she sort of became the old Elsa for a few seconds, just to tell Jack to use his dagger, remember?" Merida asked. Hiccup nodded.
"Well, maybe, she can do it again, but permanently this time. Maybe, they could trigger some kind of energy for Elsa. Then she could turn back to her usual self!" Merida said. Snow and Asland perked up at that.
"Merida, you are a genius!" Hiccup exclaimed as he jumped to his feet, or foot. Merida blushed a little as Hiccup smiled. "Let's go tell Jack about your plan."
Elsa sat in the crystal cave as she looked out of the crystal window. Jack stood in front of her, looking sad as she heard Asle shouting insults and things at him.
"He looks so heartbroken," Elsa whispered to herself. Her heart broke a little when he said the next few words.
"What happened?"
"I got fooled, that's what happened," Elsa answered in a whispered.
Then Snow, Asland, Merida and Hiccup came, and they walked away a few feet, talking in low voices. She saw them glancing her way a few times.
She sighed. What was she going to do? She had tried numerous times to get back to her old self, but every time she was connected to Asle's, Elsa's body mind, she felt weak by all the darkness surrounding her. The darkness in Asle's mind would overcome her, and she would be sent back to the crystal necklace. Not to mention, it was getting colder every hour.
Jack looked at Merida. "Are you sure it will work?" he asked.
"I'm not sure, but there's a chance," she said.
"Alright. It's still a plan," Jack said. Even if this doesn't work, he was willing to do anything for Elsa.
"Okay, you'll just have to bring Elsa to places that might trigger a memory, and she might be restored. We'll be with you, in case she attacks you or something like that," Hiccup said.
"Fine, but first I want to bring her around the workshop. There's no need to follow us yet. Just keep an eye on Punzie first. She needs it," Jack said, before walking back to Elsa.
Elsa glared at him, and he gave a weak smiled.
"Hey."
"What do you want?" she spat.
"I just want to give you a tour around here," he answered.
"Finally! I could get some exercise," Elsa said.
"Yeah, but first, you must give me your word not to attack anyone, and let me cover you hand with my ice, in case you go back on your word," Jack asked.
"Then why should I give my word, if you are going to cover my hands?" Elsa asked annoyed.
"Because, Elsa, I trust you enough to let you go around this place. But I don't want you hurting anyone," he replied.
"First of all, my name is Asle! Not Elsa! Second, fair enough," she said. Jack pointed his staff at Elsa's hands, and her hands were covered in ice, and the chain fell to the ground. Then he opened the door to the cage and help Asle out.
"Alright Alse, first of all, we are going through the tunnels," he said. Then he took Asle's arm and led her to the wall Elsa had revealed to Pitch. He opened the wall, and they went in.
They walked in silence, until Asle broke the silence. "Why are we here?" she asked, annoyed.
"Just to show you how Elsa and I used to be, and I just thought how bored you are. And see? Now, you aren't screaming your head off at me," Jack chuckled.
"You know, Elsa was actually the first one who showed me these tunnels. We used to travel these tunnels all day. We even pranked the gang once. That was how we got to know each other," Jack said. Asle hummed.
Elsa sat in the necklace, watching and listening the interaction between Jack and Asle. She smiled as she remembered the days they spent exploring the tunnel, and the prank they did. She could feel her inside feeling rather warm.
Jack led Asle through the tunnel around the Globe room. He saw the spy hole and pointed it out to Asle.
"Remember this? Elsa showed this to me when we pranked the gang," he said. Asle didn't respond.
Then, Jack reached the shaft to the platform at the top, where they had dropped the paint on the guys. He pointed up the shaft.
"At the top is a wooden platform. That's where Elsa and I did the prank," Jack said, smiling fondly at the memory, just like Elsa who was sitting in the necklace.
Asle looked at him, and raised an eyebrow. Even though she was Elsa, but she could only remember this boy very vaguely. So she did not remember what kind of prank they pulled off.
"What kind of prank did you guys do?" Asle asked, unable to contain her curiosity. In an answer, Jack pulled out a crystal ball, which Asle recognised as one that can record videos and take pictures.
It showed paint, feathers, being dumped on the Merida, Bunny, Hiccup, Punzie and Snow. Then they started doing this weird dance, and then, ice cold water got dumped on them.
Asle could feel the sides of her mouth twitch up. That was an awesome prank.
Jack smiled, then pocketed the crystal ball, before leading Asle to the shaft that led up to the pavilion at the top. Jack wrapped his arm around Asle, and flew up.
When they reached the top, Asle glared at Jack. "Next time, give more warning!" she said. Jack smirked.
"That's what Elsa told me," he said. Asle raised an eyebrow, then she looked behind him, and gasped.
"Whoa," she said. The scene was amazing.
"I know right? Elsa showed this to me. This was where we talked about our fears. I did not know what her fears meant at that time, but now I know," Jack said, down casted.
Elsa looked at his sad face through the crystal window. She was feeling better, but the sight of Jack looking sad, thinking about her fears, made her upset.
"What were her fears?" Asle asked.
"She was afraid that others would get hurt because of her. She was afraid of not being accepted as one of us. But just when all of us accepted her-," Jack started.
"Pitch revealed her dark secret, and then she ran away?" Asle guessed. Jack nodded. Asle stayed silent.
"Okay, now, let's go back. We're going on another small field trip," Jack said.
Asle sat on Toothless, with Merida watching her. Jack was at the lead, with Hiccup, Merida and Asle sitting on Toothless, following behind him. Asland and Snow had stayed behind with Punzie.
Jack flew to the lake where he had died. This was where he and Elsa had gone when she was caught stealing the key to the RA. This was the first place they had gone for some winter fun.
As they flew over the lake, Jack flew behind Toothless, and pointed down to the lake.
"That time when Elsa got caught stealing a key, I brought her here. We had so much fun. Snowball fights, ice skating, you know," he said. Jack smiled at the memory.
Elsa remembered. Jack had been so understanding, and had brought a smile to her face. And that was one of the reasons she loved him. She no longer felt cold.
Then, they flew to the second lake where Jack had brought Elsa. It was the lake where Elsa's pink streak appeared.
Jack did not say anything here, but he could see the slight look of recognition on Asle's face.
Then, they went to Elsa's ice palace. There, Merida and Hiccup gasped. Even Toothless was in awe. They landed on the balcony of Elsa's room.
Jack saw the roses and the gifts he gave Elsa. They were still here.
This place was a significant place to both Jack and Elsa. It was the place where they had remembered each other. Where they had finally kissed again after 300 long years. Where they had declared their love for each other.
"What are we doing here?" Asle asked, as Hiccup and Merida looked at the castle in awe.
"This was where Elsa and I finally kissed. Where we finally remembered each other. It is a place of significance," Jack answered.
"Tell me, why does this Elsa mean so much to you?" Asle asked. She looked at the white-haired guy standing in front of her. She had believed that love does not exist, but when she looked at him, the only thing she could see on his face, was, love. Love towards his beloved Elsa.
She wondered if she would ever feel the same way towards a guy. Whoa, whoa, what was she thinking?!
"She's the most amazing person in the whole world. She loves almost everyone, and cares about them. She would do almost anything for those she loved. That's what makes her awesome. Whenever I see her, it's like everything in the world doesn't matter anymore. It's like she has this sort of effect of drawing all radiance to her. Her smiled lights up the room, and her laugh sends shivers up my spine. I'd do anything for her," Jack said.
Elsa could feel her cheeks going very red as she listened to Jack. Suddenly, she couldn't feel the cold anymore, instead, she felt much better. It suddenly dawned on her what Jack was trying to do.
Asle was feeling very confused. This guy was obviously in love with Elsa. And yet, Elsa was lost. She had always thought love never existed. All there was is hate and darkness. But just in the few short hours, she could see that love existed. She could feel the dark crust around her heart, cracking.
Merida and Hiccup smiled as Jack looked at Asle. Merida stole a glance at Hiccup and wondered if that was how he felt too.
They board Toothless again, and Jack led them to one last place.
They reached a pond and Asle slipped off Toothless. Jack faced Merida and Hiccup. "You guys can go first. I'll be okay," he said. Before Merida could protest, Hiccup took off with Toothless.
Jack watched them go, but what he did not know, was that Hiccup had Toothless turn back and land in the forest beside the pond.
Asle looked around, unfamiliar to the place, while Elsa, who sat in the crystal necklace gasped.
This was the pond they went when they were human. They had nearly kissed here.
"You and Elsa really loved ponds and lakes, huh?" Asle said.
"Yeah, it's our thing," he said, shrugging.
"Okay… am I supposed to know this place?" Asle asked.
"Well, you? Not really. Elsa? Yes, she would know," Jack answered. He brought Asle to a specific tree by the side. He pointed to the bark. "Look, what do you see?"
Asle bent down and saw a J+E.
"You and Elsa," she said.
"Yeah, this was where Elsa and I nearly kissed for the first time when we were human," Jack said.
"Okay, I don't get it. Why are you taking me to all the places that were significant to you and Elsa?" Asle asked. She had been wondering why this guy had brought her all around the world.
"Because, don't you see? The Elsa I know, is inside you. Elsa and you are one. And I want my Elsa back," Jack said.
Elsa could feel herself growing stronger with each word Jack said. She smiled as she concentrated to travel to her mind one last time. When she reached there, she was surprised to see that there was actually less dark sand than the last time. But nonetheless, the dark sand squired over to her and started covering her.
But this time, instead of feeling weak, she felt as energetic as ever. She extended her hand, and gasped as light pour out of her hand. Her powers! They're back! Excited to use them again, she shot light at the dark sand climbing up her leg.
Asle gasped as she felt a sharp pain in her head.
Jack looked at Asle, into her eyes. He saw her eyes, slowly turning light blue again. He slowly approached Asle.
Asle felt a huge headache. Then she saw Jack coming dangerously close to her. She backed up, until she was back to back with the tree.
Merida and Hiccup were hiding in the bushes, watched intently.
Jack leaned in close, and Asle's breathe hitched. Just as their lips touched, Jack whispered three words. Three words that led to a huge burst of light that cleared Elsa's head. Three words, that lit up the snowflake necklace that hung around Elsa's neck.
Hiccup and Merida watched in surprise as the necklace around Elsa's neck emitted a blue light, and a burst of light appear, and the blue light travelled all the two spirits with lightning speed. Stars flew down from the sky, spinning around Jack and Elsa, along with the blue light, creating a dome of light around them.
Suddenly, it wasn't Asle who Jack was kissing. He was kissing the Daughter of the Moon, Princess of the Stars. And she was kissing back! As Jack's arms wrapped around her waist and Elsa's hand went around his neck, the stars lifted them up into the sky. The light and the stars covered them completely and Hiccup and Merida had to cover their eyes.
Then there was a huge burst of light, and Jack and Elsa appeared on the ground, wearing white all over. Elsa was wearing a white dress, while Jack's hoodie turned white, with white pants.
They broke apart, and Jack looked at Elsa in surprise. She was back. Her pink streak and light blue eyes. She giggled at his face, and stepped up to her tippy toes and gave him a peck on the nose. He laughed, and soon, they were kissing again.
"I love you," he mumbled against her lips.
"I love you too," she answered back.
A/N: Sup Snowflakes! You guys are now called Snowflakes, because, we are all Jelsa lovers here, and Jelsa lovers must be called Snowflakes, get what i mean?
Anyway, here's the new chapter! Personally, I am pretty proud of this chapter. This was pretty long, but not the longest. I think my longest chapter was about 4000 words. This one has 3000+.
Did you guys notice some things that I included from previous chapters? See, I told you guys that all those smaller one-shots will be connected to the ending. I didn't tell you? Oh well... now, you guys know.
Yes guys, i know that last few chapters were very bad. They were going too fast. Please forgive me. I was writing with a writers block. I was trying to write in time for my weekly updates. So you know, you guys won't be there waiting too long. Please forgive me.
Anyway...
Jack: Why do you keep saying 'Anyway'?
Me: Why can't I?
Jack: I just find it weird. In every other Author's Note, you will say Anyway, at least twice!
Me: Well, I am weird, so deal with it!
Jack: -_-
Me: Anyway...
Jack: See!
Me: Jack, shut it.
Jack: No, I can talk all-
Me: Don't make me take Elsa away from you again.
Jack: Shutting it right now!
Hiccup: Blackmail!
Elsa: *giggles*
Me and Merida: *thinking* What an idiot. Of course I/she wouldn't take Elsa away, I/she loves Jelsa!
Punzie: *walks in crying* Why can't Flynn remember me?!
Elsa: *comforts Punzie* I am sorry Punzie, but you shall know in the next chapter.
Punzie: *wails* But I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER! *cries harder*
Everyone: *thinking* Poor Punzie.
Merida: Hey Author! Start writing already!
Me: Okay okay, I'll try.
Alright guys! [Looks at Jack] See you at the next chapter! Love you all Snowflakes!
Keep on reading and ship Jelsa!
