Not only did Hoffman disregard her wishes to die in the bathroom, but Gordon had not honored John's promise to not have her tested again. She couldn't trust either of them ever again. What Gordon could've done was to have her fired if he didn't think she was a good nurse still rather than test her. What Hoffman could've done was let her bleed to death in the bathroom rather than kill Kate, which most likely happened. There may have been a chance that Kate would've left her in the bathroom if she did kill Hoffman, even if Jesse had sacrificed herself to stay. Kate is that kind of person.

Gordon had arrived in her room after she was done eating breakfast. "How are you feeling?"

"It still hurts, but not as much as before." She replied. Of course, they just gave her a round of morphine. It was time to ask the question she was dreading. "What happened to Hoffman and Kate?"

"Kate was killed." He replied. "Her throat had been slit. I bet you don't need to guess who did that?"

"Of course, not" She said, not surprised since she would've been in the bathroom still if Kate didn't die."

"As for Hoffman, he's missing."

"Shame he's gone" She remarked. "I would've liked to thank him for saving my life."

"I'm the one that saved your life." Gordon pointed out. "He did carry you out of the bathroom. However, he dropped you and ran when he saw me."

"How nice of him" She said dryly.

"That's Hoffman for you"

"I've been doing some thinking." She began. "I've made the decision that I'm going to transfer to Hopkins."

"You don't want to work here anymore?" He asked, his voice sounding a bit pained.

"I need to get away from this." She said. "Since Mick is dead now, I can return to Maryland and start a new chapter in my life. However, I can't do it with the notion of Jigsaw hanging over it."

Gordon signed deeply. "I understand. When do you want to be transferred?"

"How long will this injury of mine heal?"

"Give it six months for right now, possibly a year"

"So, I won't be able to work for six months to a year?"

"Yep, could be longer. It depends what kind of damage Hoffman did to your leg too"

She leaned her head back against the pillow, resigned. "Great"

"You'll be on disability the whole time you're off. However, you can leave here in two weeks if you want."

"Yeah, that sounds nice"

"I'll make the arrangements."
