Wayle strode down the hallway, searching for Latune, reaching out with his mind. Since he came to Beacon he had learned to distinguish between people of interest by sensing their Aura.
Back in his old universe he had never felt Aura, but since coming to Remnant he felt it clearly. He mused that it had to do with similarities between Aura and the Force, one being what connected all things and the other being the manifestation of the soul. Both had connections to living things, although while the Force flowed through all things, not everything had a soul.
But he digressed, simply put, he could sense the Aura of people around him, and he had figured out how to differentiate between those he was more familiar with. Basically, he always knew where those people where.
Of course, with Amara and Latune he searched more for the presence they radiated in the Force, although Amara usually supressed it, so if he wanted to know where she was it usually became more of a case of; "Where is this person with way too little Aura for being a Hunter?", rather than anything else. Thankfully that meant she still stood out like a sore thumb most of the time.
Well, with Latune yet having learned to supress her signature in the Force it was very easy for him to find her, he just needed to look for the mostly pure, with only a hint of darkness, presence that was Latune's.
Unsurprisingly, she was in the Library, so he probably hadn't needed to seek her in the way he did.
He entered the rather extensive hall. He had to admit, it was a fine library, even if something like this was to be expected of a prestigious school like Beacon, and as one who sought knowledge for the sake of it, Wayle really appreciated it.
Still, he was here today with a different purpose, and he did not have the time to admire the collection of knowledge present. He unerringly strode towards where Latune was.
Maybe he leaked some of his power, maybe it was just the seriousness of his approach, but Latune was already looking at him when she came into view.
"Ma- Wayle, what is it? I don't quite know why but I get the feeling something is about to happen…" Latune spoke up uncertainly with a questioning voice.
Wayle chuckled. "Latune, we are heading out. I have a mission that I want you to accompany me on." Wayle said, just as much a request as an order.
Latune looked slightly confused. "A mission? Now?" She looked confused for a bit before shaking her head and becoming serious. "Of course. I will prepare immediately, when do we leave?"
"In two hours. Meet me at the third landing pad." Wayle informed her.
"Understood." Latune nodded gravely and rose from her seat, setting the book she was reading back into its place.
Wayle promptly set off for his room, he would also need to do some packing.
-Break—
She wasn't sure why, but when she had seen Wayle stride towards their room with such purpose, she had known immediately that he was about to do something. Likely something dangerous.
As such, she found herself opening the door to their room with trepidation in her heart. There she saw Wayle making preparations to leave, packing various things that he would need and seeming to contemplate if he would need certain things.
"Wayle?" She hesitantly called out.
He turned around. "Blake, I am sorry, but I have a mission that I need to fulfil." Wayle had a somewhat sad look in his eyes.
She tilted her head in confusion. "A mission? Now? The festival is coming up and if you go now you might miss it, so…" She asked uncertainly.
"I know, and while I would have loved to go…" He trailed off, a short moment of hesitation.
She shook her head. "Don't worry. There will certainly be more opportunities, maybe even in less troubled times." She took a deep breath. "I choose to believe in you, and will continue to do so. So don't worry about me, you have your path and I have mine, and as much as we would like them to be one and the same, there will always be times when they will part." A sad smile adorned her face as she faced him.
Wayle's face lit up in an honest, if slightly sad, smile. "That was quite poetic Blake, if a bit defeated." He walked up to her. "And that is why you became so precious to me…" His eyes looked into her as their faces came close to one another.
"I know…" She whispered softly. "You told me as much…" She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer.
A soft chuckle escaped his lips as his arms coiled around her waist and he leaned closer. She closed her eyes as their lips met.
Unfortunately, that was when the door opened and the familiar voice of her team leader rang out in the room.
"Hey, Blake, I was just…" Ruby's voice trailed off as she presumably saw the scene before her. "I... seem to be disturbing something so… I'm sorry!" The door then quickly closed again.
"Well that was…" Wayle seemed lost for words.
"Embarrassing…" She felt her cheeks heat up.
"Something along those lines, yes." Wayle chuckled amusedly. "Now, where were we?"
-Break—
After having finished saying goodbye to Blake (which took a while), Wayle went to tell the rest of his roommates as well as team JNPR and was now on the way to the indicated meeting place.
Latune was already waiting, a small bag in hand and clad in the clothes she had when he first met her (or at least something similar, Wayle couldn't really tell).
"Master, you are late." Latune said wryly.
"Oh, is that so? I was delayed slightly while making my preparations." Wayle smiled. "That reminds me… Latune, I have a gift for you." Wayle said and reached for something inside his own bag.
Latune looked at him curiously, wondering what it could be. Wayle simply produced an approximately 25 cm long cylinder that he casually chucked to her.
She was somewhat startled by the sudden throw but still managed to, with a bit of fumbling, catch it.
"What is this?" She looked at the object in her hands. "There seems to be a faint traces of the Dark Side…" She turned it over in her hands before realisation struck her and her eyes widened in chock. "This-this couldn't be…" She looked at him with an incredulous expression.
Wayle chuckled. "Who knows, you will just have to test it."
Latune looked at the object in her hand with a mixture of dread and excitement on her face. She turned it so that the open end pointed away from her and flicked the switch now placed nice and accessibly by her thumb.
A distinct hum filled the air as a blade of purple energy sprung to life, approximately 140 cm long. Latune stared at it for several seconds before giving it a few cautious swings. The distinct whine resounded through the air.
"Huh, it really doesn't want to be moved…" Latune muttered incredulously.
"Well, it is one of the quirks of the weapon itself." Wayle said amusedly.
"Is this really-?" Latune began asking.
"Consider it a gift from your master. It would be disgraceful for you to have a simple borrowed sword like that one." Wayle indicated the sword strapped to her waist.
"Thank you master, I will value your gift greatly." Latune said happily while giving a bow.
Then she deactivated the Lightsaber and fumbled with trying to figure out where to keep it as she followed Wayle towards their transport.

A group of people lounged around inside the supposedly unoccupied building. If there was anything distinct about them it would be that they were all Faunus and that they wore the uniform of the White Fang.
Some of them were not wearing the mask, some were unhooded while a number sombrely wore the entirety of it. Or excitedly as in the case of some, younger, less experienced and less… wise, members.
"Hey, do you guys think he'll actually show up? I mean… does he really have any reason to?" One of these, a young man with panther ears and a cat's tail said.
"Huh, who knows? That woman said to get him here and the captain seemed confident he could do it so…" Another, a girl with wolf ears said.
"Heh, there's no need to worry! He'll be here, and then we'll keep him here till we don' need to any longer and then we can go home! Easy peasy!" Yet another, this one with a veritable lion's mane said care freely.
If they had seen the small amount of unhappiness on their 'captain's' face they might have felt less certain, but as it was they were eased by their compatriots words.
"Why did they have to come? Foolish children, they don't even realise that 'that woman' had no belief that we would come back alive…" Said captain, a large, burly man with bear ears, unhappily said, mourning for these foolish young people.
"It's only to be expected from people like them, especially considering their ignorance of the magnificent and overwhelming power of my lord." His companion, Ouka, said like it was a matter of fact.
"There is something disturbing in hearing you speak of someone like that." The man said amusedly.
"It's because he is worthy of that title that I use it when speaking of him. If it's any consolation, I think the person himself finds it slightly disconcerting." Ouka responded with devotion.
The 'captain' laughed heartily. A few curious glances were directed his way, but ultimately dismissed as a joke between the two of them.
The last member of the 'children' (Ouka was actually their age), a boy with no immediately discernible Faunus features approached them.
"Captain, if you don't mind me asking, how much longer until the target arrives?" He asked politely.
Ouka looked at her timepiece, hiding the displeasure on her face.
"Should be… hmm…" She said, mulling over the numbers in her head.
"It's just that… Shouldn't he have arrived already? Even in a scenario where he dawdled excessively he should already have entered the town…" The youth said uncertainly.
"While I will admit that I dawdled a bit before leaving, your assumption that you will know when I entered this town is naïve beyond belief." A voice unheard by all but one present rang out in the building.
The expression of shock that adorned the youths face told volumes about how much he had expected the situation as every eye was drawn towards the source, where a young man, no older than the youth himself, emerged from the shadows, while a petite girl, presumably the same age followed normally.
He was immediately set on guard as he recognized the target. "How…?" He said, stunned by the unexpected development.
"He found us! Get him!" His lion featured compatriot shouted and charged, not even waiting to see if anyone moved with him.
The youth moved to assist, but a strong hand held him in check, and he could only watch as his friend's attack stopped before reaching the target.
Said target shook his head disapprovingly. "So reckless, not even waiting for his superiors order… Such poor discipline. Or is it simply that you don't have one?"
"Captain…" The youth looked behind him at the one restraining him, only to be met with a sadly shaken head.
"You!" His friend shouted loudly and tried to push through.
Only to find that his feet no longer touched the ground.
"Of course, the saddest thing here is that you do not even realise that you do not stand a chance. You were all sent here with the expectation that you died." The target, Wayle Tyran said sadly.
"Well, we have no intention of dying here." The voice of the 'captain' rang out in response. "Of course, most of us would never even have 'volunteered' if not for Ouka here." He indicated the girl beside him.
"Eh?" The youth was confused, but at the same time it began to dawn upon him that something was wrong…
"Yes, a job well done Ouka." Wayle's response hit like a sledgehammer.
"Thank you for your most generous words my lord." Of course, if Wayle's words were like a sledgehammer, Ouka's words were like a speeding truck.
"Traitors!" His friend shouted out as he struggled.
"If you keep struggling like that Master will have to hurt you. So I suggest you cease, it is after all futile." The girl accompanying Wayle spoke up for the first time, her sweet voice at odds with the situation and the message it carried.
The lion Faunus just screamed as he continued his struggle. "I'll-!" He began to say before he choked and fell silent as he lost consciousness and dropped limply to the floor.
One of their number, a man skilled in medical treatment rushed up to check on him.
"He'll be fine." Was all he said after a few tense moments.
"I have no intention to kill a misguided youth like him." Came the perpetrators reply. So? What now? Anyone else?"
A few moments of silence as all present seemed to consider their options (although only really three of them needed to actually think, the rest were just reaffirming an already taken decision) before the 'captain' spoke up.
"The moment we decided to go on this mission we had already made up our resolve to desert the White Fang. While I only speak for myself, I will pledge fealty to your cause." The man's sombre words was accompanied by him bending the knee.
Ouka followed suite, although that was probably to be expected, as she was effectively the instigator of this desertion.
This was shortly followed by a clamour as several people mimicked the gesture, swearing their fealty as well. Finally only three people were left standing, those who had been unaware of the setup to begin with.
A sigh escaped Wayle's lips as a wry smile crept onto his face. "Is this your doing Ouka?" He said dryly.
"I will admit that my actions were inspired by her." Came the response from the 'captain'.
"Of course." Wayle said and rubbed his forehead as if he had a headache. "What else could it be?"
"My lord, your orders?" Ouka said, a hint of amusement in her voice.
Wayle changed into the persona most fitting for the situation, if these people wanted to play that game he would play as well.
"Very well, let us get started, shall we?" He said imperiously.
Author's notes: It will be interesting to see peoples' reactions to this chapter. Of course, that means I want you to review and tell me. I hope it is to satisfaction, although I must say I feel kind of happy, but at the same time feel it could be better... Oh well, that is just how this works, an author will never be truly satisfied with his work. I hope you enjoyed and that you have a nice day.
