"So what do we do first?" Kaoru asked as he stood up.
"I would suggest we find out where she's staying that way we know where the girls are," said Haruhi hurrying back into apartment, "Hopefully she'll consider answering when we try calling the number."
"Well if she sees my number she might not answer," said Kaoru.
"Well hopefully she'll answer for my number, if not maybe we can try tracing where her call is coming from," said Haruhi.
"Shouldn't we get someone like Kyoya to help with that?" asked Kaoru.
"Good idea, call him," Haruhi instructed, "In the meantime I'll be trying to take care of the other big thing we have to do, which is finding a judge that would agree to take on our case. I can take care of that easily. I know a few who could easily agree to it."
"Good, thanks," said Kaoru as he called up Kyoya, "Hey Kyoya, you know how you went and dumped that really bad news on us about the girls? Well guess what, now you can make it up to us."
"You know I'm not doing this because I feel the need to make anything you up to you. I'm only doing this because it's the right thing to do," Kyoya said later when he and Kairi were back at Kaoru's apartment.
"Whatever, are to try and trace the call or not?" asked Kaoru.
"I've been ready thank you," said Kyoya.
"Okay I'm calling," said Haruhi nervous. Kairi reached over and gently took her hand.
"It'll be okay I'm sure," she said. Haruhi nodded as she put the phone down on the table and hit the speaker button.
"I said to shut up for now!" they all suddenly heard Qi shout, "Yes sorry can I help you?"
"Qi?" said Kaoru.
"Oh it's you," said Qi, "I'm sorry I'm really busy at the moment…,"
"No wait don't hang up!" Kaoru shouted, "I know you're mad at me but I'm simply calling at the moment to ask if we can bring some of the girls' things to where you are!" Qi was quiet for a moment.
"How are you doing Kyoya?" Kairi asked her husband.
"I think I got a lock on her," said Kyoya, "Even if she doesn't agree to what Kaoru's suggesting.
"Alright it might be a good idea to have the girls things come over. I'm staying at the Akkan Arms, Room 207," Qi suddenly said.
"Thank you, we'll be over there soon," said Kaoru, "Are the girls okay?"
"I," Qi was interrupted by something, "Hey I said to stop that! I got to go! I'll see you when you bring the stuff over! You do that again and I'm throwing you out of the window!"
"Well at least you know where she is," said Kyoya, "Do you want take any of my guards with you?"
"No not at the moment," said Haruhi, "And Kaoru don't do or say anything to indicate we're still going to try and take the girls back. It might scare her and make her leave."
"Right, right," said Kaoru, "Thanks Kyoya. Come on Haruhi let's go get some of their things."
"What should we take?" asked Haruhi going through the girls' toy chest.
"Make sure to pack lots of pony toys for the Li Ming definitely and how about the tea set?" Kaoru suggested as she packed some of the suitcases with clothes. As he went through the closet, he happened to notice the backpack the girls had when they first showed up at his door. "I wonder if I should bring these over there."
"Why not?" asked Haruhi.
"Well I don't want the girls to think we're not going to try and get them back at least," said Kaoru.
"I think you're over thinking it Kaoru," said Haruhi as she grabbed both bags and started putting a few toys into them.
"Do you think we could have somehow someway gotten legal custody if we hadn't called Qi?" asked Kaoru.
"It would have been hard but probably not as hard as with dealing with that woman!" said Haruhi.
"Hmm, do we still have a chance?" asked Kaoru.
"Yes Kaoru, we do," said Haruhi, "For now let's just make sure we know where the girls are so we make sure they're alright and she doesn't take them fully away from us."
"Is this the place?" Kaoru asked pulling up in front of a hotel. It wasn't one that he or anyone in his family would stay in, but it would be considered somewhat luxurious by someone from Haruhi's class.
"Yeah this is the Akkan Arms," said Haruhi looking at the map Kyoya had given to help them to get to the place.
"She's staying in a hotel? I take it she doesn't have a permanent residence of anything. We can use that right?"
"Yeah, that can definitely work in our favor," said Haruhi as they walked into the hotel and headed to the elevator.
As they walked down the hallway to room 207 they could hear what sounded like little kids crying and screaming.
"I don't know whether to feel upset that they're crying like this or happy that they're giving that woman hell," said Kaoru as Haruhi knocked at the door.
"Now remember be nice to her less we scare her away with the girls," Haruhi advised.
"Right right," said Kaoru.
"I swear to god I'm going to tie you up and leave you in the bathroom tub if you keep this up!" Qi shouted as she opened the door, "Oh it's you. Do you have the stuff?"
"Yeah we have it," said Kaoru holding up some of the bags.
"Good give it here," said Qi reaching for it.
"Eh," said Kaoru pulling it out of her reach, "first let us see the girls!"
"You can't, they're in bed!" said Qi.
"Daddy!" said Xing Xing running out past her and flinging herself at him.
"Hey honey," said Kaoru hugging her back. Qi groaned.
"Daddy, Haru?" said Li Ming coming into view.
"Fine, you can come in but not for too long," Qi finally allowed as she stepped aside to let Kaoru and Haruhi in. Kaoru kept Xing Xing close as he walked into a room that was almost half the size as the room the twins were sharing back at Kaoru's. On one side there was a bed and on the other side was a huge couch in front of the TV with only two doors, one leading to a closet and the other leading to a bathroom. All over the floor was some sort of clothes or other items scattered everywhere.
"Um is there enough room for you and the girls in here?" asked Haruhi trying not to sound judgmental.
"Its fine, we've stayed in smaller," said Qi.
"Hi Li Ming, how are you doing?" asked Kaoru walking over to her, "Look Daddy made sure to bring you some of your ponies and your tea set."
"My ponies!" said Li Ming happily as Kaoru pulled on out for her.
"Tea!" Xing Xing also cheered looking at her tea set. However her mother came over and snatched it up.
"Where did you get this junk?" she asked.
"The magic tea fairy brought it," said Kaoru, "What do you think?"
"Well can you take it back?" asked Qi, "We don't have room for it. The ponies can stay though."
"If you're that worried about space why not just let us take the girls back again for the time being? WE have the room for them!" said Kaoru.
"Kaoru!" said Haruhi making the kiss gesture across her throat.
"You're still thinking about taking the girls are you?" asked Qi.
"Whoa, whoa let's not be hasty now!" said Haruhi, "Look we were prepared to talk like adults back at our place about the girls. We weren't trying to cause problems for you. If anything we thought we were going to be helping you."
"Helping me?" asked Qi, "How is taking my kids away from me helping me?"
"I don't know, should we consider asking all those other daddies you kept dumping them off with?" asked Kaoru.
"Kaoru!" Haruhi kept warning.
"Are you calling me a bad mother or something?" asked Qi.
"Bad Momma," Xing Xing spoke up.
"None of that now young lady; I sear I'll hand you upside down from the ceiling!" Qi threatened. Xing Xing stuck her tongue out at her, "and I'll cut that out too!"
"Please let's calm down," said Haruhi.
"Oh listen to you, Miss "I'm so great because I got me the rich guy!" You make me sick!" said Qi, "He didn't even seem to care about me even after I dropped the girls off. All you ever called about was them. What about me?"
"Did you drop them off so I would consider hooking up with you?" asked Kaoru.
"You would think a father would want to be with the mother of his children," said Qi. Haruhi and Kaoru both looked at each other disturbed as they both reached over and took each other's hand.
"Anyway, are you sure you don't want us to at least take the girls back for the night so that I don't know maybe you can get a bigger room for them?" Kaoru asked.
"No!" said Qi, "How do I know you won't take off with the girls or something to some foreign land?"
"We won't do that," Haruhi promised.
"And how do we know you won't do something like that or even dump them on some weird man's doorstep?" asked Kaoru.
"Kaoru seriously!" said Haruhi.
"Get out, get out now!" Qi shouted as she shoved the two out.
"No, no!" said Kaoru as she ran past her and back to the girls, "I'm not leaving without saying good-bye this time!" He knelt down and hugged them. "Don't worry I'll be back for you!"
"Daddy," said Xing Xing and Li Ming sadly.
"Shh, it'll be okay," Kaoru told them.
"Alright, you said good-bye now get out!" said Qi, "Don't make me call the police again!"
"Kaoru, come it's late anyway. We should go so the girls should get some sleep okay?" said Haruhi.
"You should listen to her," said Qi. Kaoru gave her a dirty look.
"You're not going to win this!" he insisted as he finally headed out with Haruhi. Both stood there as Qi slammed the door in their faces.
"I blew it didn't I?" Kaoru asked as the two of them left.
"A little yes," Haruhi said bluntly right as her phone went off, "Hello? Oh hello Judge Azukaru, yes as soon as possible please. Really, thank you very much!" She hung up and smiled.
"But don't worry, she's not going to be able to run away with them that easily especially after tomorrow," she said. She started dialing up her phone again, "Hello Kyoya, can we borrow one of your guards for tonight? Yes we could use him to watch the building Qi's keeping the girls in in case she tries to leave. Thank you very much."
"Make sure you have everything packed because we're not coming back here for anything!" Qi said the next morning as she tried to usher the girls out of the room.
"Going back to Daddy?" asked Li Ming.
"Not to that awful Daddy! We're going to find a new Daddy to stay with," Qi told her.
"Don't want new daddy! Want Daddy with Haru!" said Xing Xing.
"That is not going to happen!" said Qi as she opened the door There she happened to find a man in black suit wearing sunglasses standing and blocking her path.
"Are we going somewhere Madam?" he asked calmly.
"Uh who are you?" asked Qi.
"Oh good you're still here!" said Haruhi running up to their room.
"What are you doing here?" asked Qi.
"I'm just letting you know you shouldn't leave at the moment," said Haruhi handing Qi a file, "Consider yourself served. We're suing you for custody of Li Ming and Xing Xing. That means that if you try to run away you'll be considered a fugitive and be arrested."
"But I, you can't," Qi sputtered.
"If you need help in remembering to stay, I'm sure your new friend can help you with that," said Haruhi.
"That I can," the guard assured Haruhi looking at Qi seriously.
"But," Qi tried to argue. Haruhi looked past at the girls.
"Hi girls," she said waving.
"Haru go home?" asked Xing Xing.
"Not today sadly," said Haruhi, "But it'll be soon, I promise! Daddy and I will be with you again soon!"
