Hey little Darcy's! I know I missed an update last week so I've made this chapter extra long to make up for it. Also, this next chapter is going to be graphic so heads up there. And as always review review review!

Chapter 36: Kicking butt and taking names

"It's just up ahead." Lola confirmed, trotting along with Marie close behind. They were scooting through air ducts, headed for the armory. Marie had considered trying to send a signal but didn't want it accidentally picked up by their kidnappers and so she simply had to trust her mate was on his way.

"Were yah able tah see what kind of weapons they had?"

"No. But.. um, I don't really know how to fire a gun or anything."

Marie paused.

"Yah weren't trained?"

"No, danger room scenarios are a sophmore class, I don't start till the fall."

"Victor teach yah anything?"

"A little. But he didn't want me around any of that."

Lola turned, morphing somewhere between kitten and human.

"Marie.. we're in trouble aren't we?"

"It's not gonna be easy, no. But if we can hang on till our boys come, then we'll be alright."

The small kitten nodded and continued down the length of the duct. Marie followed after, trying hard to ignore her already bruised and bloodied body. What she'd told Lola was true, it wouldn't be easy. What she hadn't said was she was running on little more than autopilot at this point. If her mate didn't arrive in the next few hours, she wasn't going to make it.

"I've got soldiers on three of the doors.. my contact sent along the prints." Victor spread the blueprints out on the ground and Logan squatted down beside him. Professor Xavier had sent a team on the jet, Victor and Logan readying a duffle bag and getting as much information about the place as possible. As soon as the plane touched down, Logan had opened the bay doors and the brothers rode out in the truck and then hiked to their vantage point.

"What about inside?"

"Guards here, here and here… there's a cluster here, according to the schematics these are the holding cells. That's probably where the girl's are." He moved to each spot, marking trails and circling positions.

"What's this? Says.. Arena?"

"The fights are held there. We don't need to worry about that. We take out the guards here and head down the hall. Two lefts and a right, you've got my six. This is the camera room, we'll take a key off one of the bodies and shut that down once we locate our mates. We clear em out so it's a straight shot back. Get in, get out easy. Bring em back to the plane and have Big Blue handle any wounds that we can't ourselves."

Logan nodded and pulled out binoculars while Victor rolled up the blueprint and tucked it back in the bag. The men standing at attention looked bored, even chatting with one another. Completely unaware anyone was near the facility. At first glance it looked little more than a crop dusting hangar with security guards. But this was forest area and there was no ground with soil clear enough to be planted on.

"There's five of em standing around. Guns on both hips and and earpieces in. Vulnerable on the rib cage, jugular and arm socket."

"Got it. Get it done, ten seconds or less. We don't wanna get swamped because they have time to call for re-enforcements."

He nodded, putting away the binoculars and letting out a breath.

She's close human.

I know. You ready for this?

We'll kill whoever we need to. Just want our marie-mate back.

We'll get her. Work with me and we'll get her.

"Hold here. Aim. Pull here and shoot. Got it?" Lola nodded and Marie handed the younger feral the gun. They'd made it to the armoury and Marie had made short work of picking what they could and could not use.

Obviously, there were limitations as the weapons chosen needed to be beginner friendly. She'd already given Lola a crash course on the hand grenades, shock batons and tear gas. Marie had chosen to put the bullet proof vest on Lola when it became apparent there were no other forms of protection. The vests were kept in another room and there wasn't time to go searching for another, she needed to get them tucked out of sight before their escape was discovered.

"Stay low and keep right behind meh. Ah stop, you stop. Ah move you move. Clear?"

"Clear."

"Okay good. Here we go."

She checked the hallway and then headed out, Lola on her tail. They needed to find an entry point back into the air ducts or, better yet, the control room. Running that arena and the holding cells had to be no small task and Marie was certain there was a control center somewhere on the premises. If she and Lola could take it, then they'd be alright at least for awhile.

"Someone's coming!" Lola whispered. Marie nodded and waited for the men to come around the corner, signaling for Lola to use her shock baton on them. The pair dropped and Marie stripped what she could. That meant key cards, earpieces and weapons before dragging them into a supply closet and taping them up with the duct tape from the office. They pressed on, doing the same thing to a few more people before they ran into trouble.

Marie had found another supply closet, this one with shelving that was tall enough to get to the vent above. Together they'd dragged it over inch by inch into position and then she sent Lola up with a knife to undo the screws. Lola had just handed her the vent lid when the door flew open. She spun around, already firing before she was knocked flat on her back.

The pain didn't register until a few seconds later and then it was the most intense burning she had ever felt in her bullet had torn through but Marie couldn't tell if there was an exit wound or not. There was blood, so much blood and her arm and shoulder were on fire. She pushed herself up on her good arm, still shooting as they were swarmed. Lola was screaming, fighting and snarling when they managed to get the gun away but she was no match for the trained guards and they were soon overtaken.

Logan Howlett was not one to sugarcoat. He'd always been straight with Marie, he was one of the bad guys. But for once, it served him well. He and the Wolverine were moving as one, cutting down men and slashing anyone who got on their way. Victor was in complete agreement, The Sabretooth had never been hindered by things like sanity and so it was with a maniacal grin he followed suit. By the time they'd gotten through the first level of security, both men were blood stained and on the hunt.

"Stay close Jimmy. Oughta be getting close now, the control room should be just down this hall."

Victor took a step forward, stopping abruptly as he was zapped in the gut with a shock baton. He roared angrily and cut straight through the abdomen of his attacker, intestines spilling out before the man crumpled into a heap.

"Victor-"

"He got in our way."

Logan didn't like it, more so because he knew Marie wouldn't like it but there wasn't any time to argue rescue mission etiquette. The longer he and Victor took, the longer Marie and Lola were with their kidnappers.

"In here."

Logan followed Victor inside, elbowing one tech in the face and punching out the other while Victor checked the camera's. He tied them up together while Victor looked for their mates, stopping when his brother spoke in the soft tone that never failed to send chills down the a listener's spine.

"I found them. I found our mates."

He hurried over and felt his heart rise into his throat, threatening to choke him. Marie was lying on a couch, deathly pale and eyes closed. Even from here he could see the deep edges of the bullet hole in her shoulder, something Lola was trying desperately to apply pressure to when one of the men in the room dragged her away. There was a double bed in the corner, he pulled her there and was tugging away her clothes even while Lola struggled. There could be no doubt of his intentions the young feral would be raped if they didn't get to her in time.

"Third floor down, stairs up the hall on the right. He's mine."

They didn't talk as they ran. Three flights, animals in control and running full out. When the door came in sight, Victor launched himself at the door and burst into the room, Logan right on his heels. Guns were pulled and Logan batted them down easily, bullet wounds healing almost as fast as he was hit. The Wolverine went straight for arteries, slashing and slicing, giving triumphants snarls as sprays of blood hit the walls.

The man who'd been in the process of forcing himself on Lola had turned at their entrance and promptly stuck a gun to her head. While the other men dropped like flies,Victor only smiled at this man's last weak stand.

"One more step and I'll kill her, I swear!"

"Did you take her?"
"Shut the hell up. Once I leave you'll get her back safe. Anyone tries to stop us and she dies."

Lola was sobbing, trying hard to catch her breath as the arm around her throat tightened.

"Victor help!"

"I will Cat. He won't hurt you."

"I said SHUT UP!"

The man jammed the gun against her temple, dragging Lola up against him.

"Answer me one thing. Did you take her?"

"If you mean kidnapping no, that's grunts work. If you mean sex.. I plead the fifth."

Logan inched forward but Victor shot him a warning look and smiled at the man. His eyes were completely empty and he bared his fangs, purring when Lola's assailant began to fidget.

"You've been very helpful. However.." He shot the gun from his hand, Lola screaming and racing for Logan while Victor pounced. He landed directly on him, grinning as the would be rapist struggled to draw in a breath.

"What I mean is, I'm gonna have to plead I do what I want. And I'm a wrathful man."

Logan did his best to cover the girl's ears and block out the screams of the dying man as Victor tore him apart, limb by limb. He started with slicing a nerve so that the man was unable to move and then began, his victim's testicles being the first to go. Smiling the entire time, Victor worked steadily until the man was dying both from bleeding out and drowning in his own blood at the same time. Finally, with a shuddering gasp he was dead.

Soaked now in blood and sweat, he went to Lola and gathered her up in his arms while Logan was free to tend to Marie. Her lips were dry and slightly blue, skin a clammy grey instead of the creamy milk tone he adored. She was unconscious and when he pressed her hand to his face he couldn't feel any drain from her mutation. He tore off part of his shirt and bandaged her shoulder, picking up her small body carefully and trying not to whine in distress.

"I'm here. I'm here darlin', everything's gonna be okay now.
