Kagome Kagome

"I don't belong to anyone!" Kagome declared hotly, almost wanting to growl when Loki merely smirked in response to her words.

"You are meant to belong," Loki said slyly, tapping his staff against the floor, "When one is named 'Kagome', does it not mean caged bird?"

"How do you know my name?" Kagome bristled, not recalling telling this God her name, "And how do you what it means?" Since when did Norse Gods speak Japanese?

When, oh when will it come out

"Loki speaks the Allspeak," Thor answered behind her, "He is able to understand every language in this universe."

'That's handy,' Kagome admitted mentally, but didn't let down her guard since this was the God of Trickery, "Try it and I'll purify you to hell!"

"As amusing as you are," Loki began and a swirl of mist suddenly surrounded him, "I have work to do before I claim my prize." With that, he was gone.

In the night of dawn

"Where did he go?!" Kagome whirled around, half-expecting for him to attack from behind, though Thor put a hand of her shoulder to stop her, "Well?!"

"To Heimdall's keep," Thor answered before turning back to his mother, "I must go," He said grimly and she only nodded and gave him another tight embrace, "Let us go, Lady Priestess!"

"Right." Kagome hopped onto his back when he gestured her to do so, almost feeling comfort at the familiar position before he took off using Mjölnir.

The crane and turtle slipped

"Is it true what Loki said before?" Thor reluctantly asked and she glanced over his broad shoulder questioningly, "What your name means?"

"It's technically true," Kagome murmured, but her eyes blazed brightly, "But I refuse to be tied down to my name. I belong to no one but myself and always will."

"You will always have my respect, Lady Priestess!" Thor smirked, moving even faster until everything was just a blur, "I will always be a friend to you, not the God you answer to!"

Who stands behind you now

"Thank you," Kagome bit her lip, wondering if it was the passing wind that made her eyes temporarily tear up because it certainly wasn't Thor's words or anything! "I mean it!"

The heartfelt moment, however, was completely destroyed when it felt like the very air shook and both God and Priestess glanced up, "What was that?"

"Loki is truly intending on destroying Jötunheimr?" Thor said out loud in that grim voice, "Brother..."

He didn't want to hurt his brother, but what Loki had done was unforgivable. And with Kagome at his side, he promised himself one thing.

He would stop Loki at all costs.
