Chapter 35
Angel laid in her nest, staring at the crack that led into her den. Her eyes glowed with worry as she thought about the cats who had left to attack the ShadowClan camp right at sunrise, it was now just a little after noon and they had yet to return. She thought about her father and brother who led the attack along with Tyco, Claw, and her three kits who had gone as well. She had wanted to come but after everyone insisting that she stay, she finally gave in.
Her swollen belly showed that she would be due at any time and the clan did not want any harm to come to her or her kits. Rose checked on her regularly and if not her then Poppy who had grown into quite a handsome tom. Both made sure she was doing okay and nothing bad was gonna happen.
She laid her head on top her paws, sighing as she waited to hear her Clan mates yowls of victory. She lifted her head as a sharp pain stabbed at her stomach. She flinched as another came, a squeak coming from her lips. Then she let a full out yowl of pain as one of the kits kicked really hard in her stomach.
Soon cats were racing to her den, wondering what was wrong, Trisha and Brick burst in the den, eyes wide as the stared at Angel as she laid on her side whimpering in pain. The she-cats yowled for someone to find Rose and Poppy. Then the two she-cats then padded over to Angel both mumbling soothing words to the young she-cat who withered in pain.
"Don't worry dear, the kits are just saying they're ready to come out." Trisha whispered, resting her tail atop Angel's shoulders.
Brick place a twig in front of her. "Here this will help when you start to push."
Then Rose and Poppy burst into the den, both carrying herbs. They settled beside Angel, shooing the two she-cats to the entrance as they placed the herbs next to them. Cats poked their heads in at the entrance to what was going on as the two medicine cats began to work, helping the young white she-cat give birth to her first litter.
After awhile two bundles of fur laid beside Angel, suckling at their mother's belly. Both were she-cats, one was a small brown she-cat, the other was a sliver grey she-cat with dark grey spots. Angel wrapped her tail tightly around the two bundles of fur touching each with the tip of her nose.
Just then yowls erupted from the ally entrance and the cats gathered around Angel's den turned to see the returning cats. Scourge led them with Kill, Tyco, and Claw close behind them. All the cats held their tails high as they yowled with victory. Kill and Tyco froze as they saw that all the BloodClan cats that had been left in camp were surrounding Angel's den and Tyco raced over, panic on his face while Kill shrieked. "What happen to my sister!?" before following closely behind, Scourge and Claw tailing behind them.
The surrounding cats gave Kill a look, sighing as they watch him growl and whine as he rushed into her den. As the group of toms burst into the den Rose gave them a death glare while Poppy watch them with uneasy eyes.
"You idiots, nothing's wrong with her. She simply had her kits while you were gone now get out, this place is too crowded." She rumbled at them shoving them out, Brick and Trisha grabbing them from the entrance and pulling them out. Then once Rose and Poppy manage to get out Rose said. "Tyco may go in, since Angel wishes for him to help her come up with names."
Tyco quickly scurried in, sitting behind Angel and looking down at his daughters. Angel looked up at him and purred. "Aren't they beautiful?"
Tyco purred back. "They're gorgeous."
Angel nuzzled him gently. "What should we name them?"
Tyco looked at them, his face scrunched up in thought. "I-I don't know. How about Tiny for the small brown one?"
Angel nodded and look down at her daughters, then pointing to the brown one. "Her name will be Tiny then." Then she turned to the silver one with dark grey spots, her eyes filled with a loving sadness. "Her name will be River, in memory of my mother, Stream."
"Tiny and River, perfect. They'll grow up to be strong just like their mother."
"And their father." Angel mumbled, smiling at her kits.
Tyco nodded, smiling too. "I wish Bandit and the rest of the foxes could see them…" He said sadly.
Angel gave him a sympathetic look. "They had to return. They did what we asked and then they had to leave."
He nodded, burying his nose in the fur of her scuff as he nestled down, watching his kits suckle.
