My apologies on the delay of this update as I've been working a lot of overtime at my job and I finally have a little time to post this. My apologies as well on the delay of my new GH story featuring Michael/Starr and GeJo. My beta finally had a chance to proof what I had done so far so I will be posting the first chapter sometime this week. I hope you will consider reading it and letting me know what you think as I appreciate your reviews. It will be called 'Love Unexpected'. There is a similar time already written for Starr/Michael that someone did a story on a few years back called 'Unexpected Love', so please don't get the two titles mixed up when reading.

Chapter 35

(It is 11:30am and Elizabeth walks into Kelly's with her bodyguard, Evan Ashbrook behind her. She sees her Gram and smiles brightly at her)

Liz: "Hi, Gram."

Audrey: "Hello, dear."

(They share a hug before Elizabeth looks at Ashbrook)

Liz: "Thank you, Ashbrook. You're welcome to sit down and relax or whatever you want to do."

Ashbrook: (nods) "I'll just sit down a few tables down and read the paper. Let me know if you need anything."

Liz: (smiles) "Will do."

(Ashbrook goes to sit down near the front door to the restaurant. He briefly looks at Miss Webber and Audrey, who are seated near the counter where the waitresses are at. The two women get comfortable before speaking)

Audrey: "How do you like your bodyguard?"

Liz: (nods) "He's okay. Nice and polite."

Audrey: "He looks rather young."

Liz: (chuckles) "He's around the same age as Lucky and I. According to Jason and the other guards, he's doing okay at his job."

Audrey: (seriously) "He better be good at his job. If anything happens to you on his watch, I won't be held responsible for my actions."

(Elizabeth looks at her Gram in slight shock and chuckles)

Liz: "I didn't know you were this feisty, Gram."

Audrey: "When it comes to you, I will always mean business."

Liz: (nods) "Well, I appreciate that, but I assure you, I'm okay."

Audrey: "I haven't seen you at the house much lately. I take it this means you're taking steps to move into Jason's penthouse?"

Liz: (nods) "Yes, ma'am. I know you prefer me moving into his place after we marry instead."

Audrey: "Oh, sweetie. While I admit I'm a little old fashioned when it comes to that, I know you and Jason are the real deal. So, you're fine." (smiles) "Do you have a maid of honor picked out?"

Liz: (smiles) "Yes. I asked Emily and she happily accepted."

Audrey: (laughs) "Yes, she's been very vocal about it...at least to me, anyway."

(They engage in more conversation as they order their food and dig in. Where Ashbrook is sitting, he takes a break from reading the paper and takes his cell phone out of his pocket to check his messages. He sees a text from Lucky)

Lucky: "What's Elizabeth doing?"

(Ashbrook texts back as they engage in conversation)

Ashbrook: She's having lunch with Audrey at Kelly's."

Lucky: "Are you ready for the next step in our plan?"

Ashbrook: "Oh, yes. She may think she's going to school at 1pm, but she will be for a surprise."

Lucky: "LOL. I can't wait 'til I can finally have her back. Jason will never have her. I don't care what I have to do to make her realize that."

(Ashbrook takes a brief pause from texting Lucky to think to himself)

Ashbrook: "Not if I make Elizabeth mine first, Spencer."

(Ashbrook's thoughts are interrupted by Lucky's next text)

Lucky: "Are you sure you're up to the task? I don't need something going wrong at the last minute our plan is in motion."

(Ashbrook rolls his eyes in annoyance. He was getting pissed off at Lucky's doubts about him. If Spencer only knew his real plans for his precious Elizabeth)

Ashbrook: "How many goddamn times do I have to tell you, Spencer? It's getting pretty sickening how little you trust me."

Lucky: "I do trust you, Evan. We just can't screw this plan up."

Ashbrook: "You worry about your end and I'll worry about mine."

(Ashbrook ends his conversation with Spencer before thinking to himself)

Ashbrook: "No wonder she didn't want to give you a chance, Spencer. You're too controlling and insecure." (narrows his eyes) "She needs a real man."

(Ashbrook looks at Elizabeth again, who is busy chatting with Audrey. He moans softly at how amazing she looked. Her natural hair lying perfectly on both sides of her shoulders. Her light colored makeup with pink lip gloss on her plump lips. Her light red blouse and red pants that shows her curves. Ashbrook has seen many sexy women before, but he had to admit that Elizabeth took the cake. He was smart enough to know that he would never win Miss Webber's heart. However, that didn't stop him for still wanting a piece of her. He admitted that he got a little rough with women in the past. He firmly believed that they liked it that way. He had a feeling Elizabeth liked it a little rough as well. Well, he would certainly give her the opportunity to show him when they were alone. While he gave credit to Morgan for his built abs, Ashbrook occasionally looked at himself in the mirror and didn't think he was that bad looking. He spent time in the weight room, so he nodded in satisfaction at his body)

(Elizabeth looks up from her food to look at Audrey, who takes a drink of her iced tea)

Liz: "I feel like I don't thank you enough for all the support you have given me regarding my schooling and my relationship with Jason."

Audrey: "Oh, Elizabeth, I'm happy to be there for you. I will always be there until my last dying breath."

Liz: "Which won't be for a very long time."

Audrey: (chuckles) "I adore Jason and I'm so glad you two are together. Even when he was with Sam, I somehow knew you two would find your way back to each other."

Liz: (rolls her eyes) "Yeah, well, if Sam has it her way, she'll use her baby to keep Jason close."

Audrey: "Didn't he say he's not 100% sure he's the father?"

Liz: (nods) "Yes." (scoffs) "I wouldn't be surprised if she slept around."

Audrey: (raises her eyebrows) "Neither would I. I never liked that girl."

Liz: (smiles) "That makes two of us."

(All of a sudden, Elizabeth's phone beeps. She takes it out of her purse to see Jason sent her a text. She can't help but smile happily at what he said, which Audrey questions out loud. The young woman reads what Jason wrote)

Liz: "'Sorry I can't take you to your first day of school. Here's to hoping it's everything you dreamed it would be. You will forever hold my heart, my love. Can't wait to see you tonight. I love you. Jason.'"

(Audrey can't help the proud smile after hearing what Jason said. If she ever had the smallest doubt in him or his love for her great granddaughter, past or present, that text erased them completely)

Audrey: "You have a very loving man there, my dear."

Liz: (nods & smiles) "I know. I don't what I'd do without him. He's my angel."

Audrey: (smiles) "Sound like you found your Prince Charming."

Liz: (chuckles) "That I did. He is everything I could ever want in a man and I can't wait to marry him."

Audrey: "Have you set a date?"

Liz: (shakes her head) "Not yet." (chuckles) "Although I'm sure he'd prefer to elope so I can officially be his."

Audrey: (seriously) "You better not."

Liz: (laughs) "Don't worry. I won't."

(Elizabeth writes a text back to her fiancé before she gets ready to leave)

Liz: "Well, I better go. My class starts at 1 and it's 12:30pm." (smiles) "Thank you for lunch, Gram. Next one is on me. I love you."

(Elizabeth kisses Audrey on the cheek before walking to Evan and asks him if he's ready. Her bodyguard nods in response and puts on his coat. He walks her out and they go to one of Jason's cars that he set up so Evan could take Elizabeth where she needed to go if he couldn't)

(At the warehouse, Jason, Sonny, and Max are overseeing the shipment that Max said got messed up. As it turned out, there was an anonymous tip that alerted the PCPD that there were 'drugs' located on the shipment. Being neither Sonny or Jason deal with drugs, they wondered where the anonymous tip came from as they had a lot of enemies. Taggert was only too happy and willing to check everything out. He was disappointed when everything came out clean. As Taggert was leaving, he mumbled under his breath that once again, he couldn't lock the mob boss or the mob enforcer away)

(Jason reads the text he receives from his love and smiles tenderly)

Sonny: "The text is from Elizabeth, isn't it?"

(Jason looks up from his phone to face Sonny)

Jason: "How'd you know?"

Sonny: (nods) "The happiness across your face says it all, man."

Jason: "I wanted to ask you something. It's about the wedding."

Sonny: "Go ahead."

Jason: "Would you be willing to be my best man?"

Sonny: (smiles wide) "Nothing would make me happier, Jason. I accept."

(They both nod before focusing on the shipment. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, Jason gets a bad feeling. He can't shake it. He briefly looks around as he doesn't know where the hell it came from. Sonny tears his eyes away to see Jason and grows worried)

Sonny: "Jayse, what's wrong?"

Jason: "I-I don't know why, but I got a bad feeling something is about to happen."

Sonny: (shrugs) "About the shipment or maybe Elizabeth?"

(Jason takes out his phone and dials Elizabeth's number. After a few rings, she answers)

Liz: "Hi, handsome. I thought you were at the warehouse?"

Jason: "I am. Are you okay?"

Liz: (weirdly) "Yeah, I'm fine. What's wrong? You sound tense."

Jason: "Is Ashbrook with you?"

Liz: "Yeah, he's driving me to school. Jason, what's wrong? You're scaring me."

Jason: "Put him on the phone, please."

Liz: (slowly) "O...kay."

(Jason heard a little movement of her passing the phone to Ashbrook)

Ashbrook: "Hello, Mr. Morgan. Everything okay?"

Jason: "Where are you?"

Ashbrook: "We just got into the car. I'm about to bring her to school like you requested,"

Jason: "I don't care if she protests, I want you right by Elizabeth until I see her tonight. If you feel something bad is about to happen, you bring her to me or call me immediately. Understand?"

Ashbrook: "Yes, sir. No problem."

Jason: "Okay. Put her back on."

(Jason hears a little more shuffling before his fiancé speaks)

Liz: "Jason, what's going on?"

Jason: "I can't explain it. I just have a bad feeling something is going to happen. Don't leave Ashbrook's sight, okay?"

Liz: "Okay, I won't." (reassures him) "I promise you, I'm okay."

Jason: "I love you, baby."

Liz: "I love you, too."

(They both end the call. Jason looks forward as he still can't shake the bad feeling he has. He didn't know what it was about, yet something told him today would change his life forever)
