I'm sorry this took so long guys! Been kinda occupied with other things (other stories, college prep, high school stuff...) and had some rather nasty writers block. I'm starting to run out of ideas and that's not fair to you guys. So I apologize for the short chapter.
This one takes place a few months after the last one, so Sasha's a little farther along in the terms.
Chapter 36
"No! Let met get it!"
Sasha growled under her breath as Cherno shot over to the book on her desk and trotted back to her with the volume in hand.
"Cherno, I am not made of glass," Sasha reminded him, for the umpteenth time, "I can get up and get my book off my desk by myself,"
"Da…but you not have little sibling with you," Cherno replied matter of factly.
"Cherno…has anyone said you can be unreasonable and stubborn?"
Cherno looked up, and then shrugged.
"Nyet, don't think so," he answered, "And don't care,"
"Child, you are driving me crazy!" Sasha groaned, leaning back on her bed.
Cherno ducked his head as Aleksis walked in and turned to his son.
"What you do this time?" he asked.
"Nothing," Cherno replied.
"Nothing!?" Sasha demanded, "Aleksis…he will not let me leave my bed!"
"He's just making sure you are alright, Sasha," Aleksis started, "Cherno…she is not weak, let her get up and move. If she tries Piloting…"
"She getting nowhere near Conn. Pod until little one is here," Cherno growled.
Sasha crossed her arms, grumbling to herself as the little one gave a kick.
This would be a long nine months.
Jazmine crossed her arms, glaring as Gipsy as the Jaeger flicked her bangs out of her eyes.
"Alright, that's it!" Jazmine growled, "Gipsy…you're getting a hair cut,"
The Jaeger stiffened, her head jerking up and her eyes wide.
"Cut?" she squeaked, "N-Nope! Don't need it cut! It's just fine!"
Jazmine turned towards Mako.
"Back me up on this," she said, "Her hair is all the way down to her waist and her bangs are flopping into her face! She needs it cut,"
Mako gave a nod.
"I do not!" Gipsy yelped, starting to get up and back away.
The two women looked at each other.
"Get her," Jazmine said simply.
Gipsy gave a squeal and shot off with Mako and Jazmine in hot pursuit. Gipsy leaped over a railing, rolling as she hit the floor and getting back to her feet.
"She's too fast," Jazmine huffed, "Man, I've got to get into better shape,"
Mako patted her fiancé's sister's shoulder.
"She's naturally fast, she was the fastest Mark III after all," Mako told her, "Now, if we can't catch her…we just have to outsmart her,"
"What do you have in mind?" Jazmine asked.
Mako gave a smile.
"C'mon," she said, running off.
"Heh, I think they gave up," Gipsy said as she finally jogged to a stop.
"Not quite," Jazmine smirked from above Gipsy and she and Mako dropped down on either side of the Jaeger.
Gipsy gave a yelp and bolted again only to get blocked by Mako. Both women cornered the Jaeger against the wall and Jazmine grabbed Gipsy's arm.
"C'mon, it's not that bad," she promised.
"But…but you're cutting it off!" Gipsy protested, struggling to get free.
"It'll grow back!" Jazmine replied.
"It…will?" Gipsy asked, eyes wide, "So if I don't like it…I can get it back?"
"After a while…yes," Jazmine nodded.
"And besides…you know that style you said you liked?" Mako asked, "You can try it now…"
Gipsy's eyes lit up, "Ok…I'll give it a try,"
A half an hour later, Gipsy ran her head through her shortened hair.
"That looks really good on you, Gipsy," Mako smiled, "The bangs are really cute too,"
"They're cockeyed," Jazmine deadpanned.
"They're supposed to be," Gipsy retorted, "That's how I wanted them,"
"Maybe we should show Striker and see what he thinks of it," Mako suggested, smirking as Gipsy's face turned extremely red.
"Not funny," Gipsy muttered, ducking her head.
"Yes!" Striker yelled as Crimson threw his controller down in disgust, "I win!"
"Again," Crimson grumbled, "Do you have to be good at everything?"
"Maybe?" Striker smirked.
"You Mark Vs," Crimson snorted, getting up.
"C'mon, Crim, one more game?" he asked.
"Yeah, that's what you said last time," the Chinese Jaeger yawned.
"I'll go easy on you?"
"You said that the time before,"
"What are you two fighting about now?" Gipsy asked as she sat down.
Striker's jaw went slack and Crimson snickered.
"You cut your hair off," Striker finally managed to say.
"You don't like it?" Gipsy asked, her gaze nervous.
"No! I love it," Striker corrected, "It's…you,"
And he did think it suited her. Her waist length hair now barely went past her neck, her bangs were cut not at a normal straight edge, but instead a slight angle was put on them.
"It's not supposed to be this wild. It was supposed to be straight and smooth…not wild and windswept," she admitted, "But it just did this on its own,"
Striker kissed her on the cheek and touched a strand of her dyed hair.
"It's perfect," he told her.
"You managed to get her to cut her hair," Raleigh deadpanned, "I'm surprised you survived with all your limbs intact,"
"The worst part was cornering her," Jazmine admitted.
"And you forget when we tried cutting it," Mako added, "Everytime the scissors closed it was 'Ow! Ow! Ow!'"
Raleigh started snickering.
"She really thought she was getting hurt?" he asked.
Both girls nodded and then started laughing.
"She's an odd one, that's for sure," Jazmine grinned, "But that's why we love her,"
"She looks less like Tacit now at least," Mako said, "So we can tell them apart from behind,"
"Well…telling Tacit apart from Gipsy was easy for me at least," Raleigh shrugged, "There's one difference,"
"Oh?" Jazmine asked, putting her hands on her hips, "What is it?"
"Tacit's short,"
So we have an overprotective Cherno and Gipsy's got her hair changed. Hope Tacit didn't overhear Raleigh's comment...she would not have taken that well.
Anyway, hope you liked it. If you did, please let me know!
