Chapter 35
Swamp Fever: Pee Girl
Third Person POV

She was most definitely a problem. This had been the fourth time the girl had slipped out of Gamma or Beta's hands and run off. Of course she never got too far, they were too fast for that, and the times that she did manage to hide, they quickly sniffed her out.

They had been told to go to the Plantation house on the other side of town. Apparently Coach and Rochelle found out the directions from the words on the walls. Either way, that's how they had ended up there.

She had taken back off with running down the hall way. Even if any member of the pack could catch her long enough , Alpha figured she wouldn't listen to anything they had to say.

The leader growled loudly, letting it echo on the rotting, decrepit walls. She earned growls back from each side of the plantation house, letting Dee quickly know that that girl was still in the house. Hidden, but there.

Dee quickly trecked through the house, reaching a hand up to pull her zipper down, opening the front of her hood. The humid air had been trapped in the house, making the place swell with heat. How the girl kept running around in a thick hoodie the leader couldn't imagine. But if she wanted to be covered in sweat, then so be it.

A quiet squeak brought Dee's attention back to reality. She turned her head and grinned.

Oh, the poor mouse was finally caught. The girl was pinned beneath Gamma's heavy body and the floor. She was struggling, twisting some before letting out another squeak followed by a pained noise.

"T... timeout?"

Yeah right, like there were timeouts in the apocalypse.

*confetti *

"So you're telling me that you chased her around for the entire two hours that we had to wait outside?" Nick asked with a chuckle.

"You only found me because I had to pee." The girl huffed loudly, messing with the restraints on her wrists and ankles.

"Do we really hafta tie her up?" Ellis said.

"She kept running away from us and I kinda doubt she'll listen and not blast a hole in our heads." The pack leader hissed.

"Hey, I dunno about you, but I have been nearly murdered by things that look like you." She spat back. "But can I please go pee? I still hafta go."

"Maybe."

"Baby Girl. Let the kid go pee."

"And have her run away again? It took us two hours to catch her."

The girl continued to do a potty dance where she was sitting, earning a few chuckles in the room.

"I will piss my pants in like ten minutes... I seriously can't hold it anymore." The girl stated simply.

"Alright, I am tired of hearing about your bladder," Rochelle stood from her seat and grabbed the girl's arm, pulling her up. "I will take her. I will bring her back. We will have a normal conversation not involving pee."

With that, the eldest woman, and the girl left.

Dee sat down, leaning against the mechanic. Ellis smiled and offered up the last peice of jerky that he was eating on. She took it with a sigh, stuffing it in her mouth.

"Think she did this?" Ellis motioned to all the colors splattered on the walls.

"It looks like she's been here a while," Cas flopped down onto one of the folded up sleeping bags, Beta immediately sitting on her butt.

Coach had busied himself outside the room, sitting outside the door on the balcony. He was still in eyesight , no smoker would become a problem.

When Rochelle and the girl finally returned, the girl no longer had any restraints on as she flopped down on the dirty sheets that made up the floor.

"Hey why is she out of her restraints? " Dee growled, pointing accusedly.

"Because I wasn't going to wipe her." Rochelle answered simply, passing out of the room to sit with Coach, "Now it feels nice outside so you'll have to have your pee conversation without me."

"We ain't gonna be talkin' about pee, Ro." Ellis called after her before pausing a second, "...are we?"

"Can we quit talking about pee because I refuse to be known as the pee girl." The girl waved her arms.

"Then tell us your name, kid. That would be a good place to start." Nick said.

"My name's Iggy." The girl pointed to herself. " Now yer turns."

One by one the group was introduced on basic first name level. Iggy listened quietly each time, nodding silently.

"What're you doin' here all by yourself?" Ellis asked quietly.

She only shrugged, "Everyone else moved on... left me behind... and I'm too scared to try and leave by myself."

" Your group just left you?" Cas raised an eyebrow. "I thought everyone would be trying to stick together."

"Well when you refuse to sleep with the leader of the group because yer not interested, it's apparently grounds to knock you out and leave you to die."

A silence swept through the room.

"It's prolly best to stay here for the night. The area is pretty protected." Iggy told them, "When you get ready to leave just talk to the radio. Virgil will come get you."

"Virgil?" The pack leader asked.

"He's the one who owns the boat that comes and picks people up."

"Why do you know this?"

"Virgil picked up the last group of people what went through here."

"Why did you stay here?" Nick asked softly, interrupting the conversation, "If you could go with them, why did you stay?"

"Dunno... too scared too probably."

Iggy picked at the sleeves of her hoodie, tearing off loose threads. Dee narrowed her eyes at the sight of a very sweat-free hoodie. Even her tangled hair was sweat-free. How? Why? And what the hell was her secret?

"Can ya quit glaring a hole through my head?" The new girl asked quietly.

"You aren't sweaty."

"No?"

"It's a sweat house here. How are you not hot?"

" I am... But I grew up in the south, a little heat ain't nuthin." Iggy grinned. "The only place I sweat is under my arm bands." She held up her arms and pushing up the sleeves of her hoodie, revealing a matching set of a rainbow of plastic wrist bands.

"Why the hell are you wearing all of those?" Nick chuckled, "Think you have enough?"

"Zombies can't bite through them easily. I mean, you try chewing through rubber and plastic." Iggy pointed at them and waved her arms.

"Y'all wanna settle down in there?" Coach's voice filtered in from outside.

"We can hear the pee girl's conversation from out here." Rochelle chimed in.

" Don't call me that!"

The pack leader caught a glace from her friend. She knew that they'd be discussing what to do with the new girl later. Nick's subtle nod joined in, unquestionably giving his opinion without another word.

Gamma sniffed at the black brace adorning Iggy's knee before getting shoed away with more jerky, causing the inspecting hunter to pounce on top of the gambler.

Dee watched with a smile, if anything, it was a fun night, regardless of what would happen in the marrow.
