Bella felt like falling again. No. She was falling. Literally this time.

The wind crashed and hit her right on her face. Her hair whipped behind her. She was falling head first. And it wasn't much long 'til her face collided with the hard ground.

Bella quickly twisted her body, positioning her body right-side-up; her feet pointing to the ground. She bent her legs just before her feet made contact with the cave floor. Cold water splashed all around her as she landed unscathed. Bella stood up from her bent position. She froze. She looked at her right hand and made them move up and down in an orderly manner mimicking a slow wave. She wasn't paralyzed. But what was this tingly feeling running up and down her spine? She decided to ignore it. For now.

It was dim. A lone beam of light invaded the darkness in the far end of the cave was the only source of light. It pierced the darkness like a spotlight. Dust danced softly in the diagonal light.

Bella was about to ask if everyone else was alright when two large paws landed on her shoulders. Bella was sent once again on the ground. Water splashed as she fell. Her clothes was soaking wet now. And the rough tongue lapping her face wasn't helping her keep dry at all. "Damn it, Seth! Get off me!" Bella playfully growled. She gave Seth a hard shove sending him tumbling to her right, splashing water as he fell.

"You kept me waiting, Princess," someone said. Low echoes reverberated from the dark, wet cave, and then it was followed by silence. The air in the cave suddenly tensed.

Bella jumped to her feet. Her eyes were as black as the still shadows in the cave. She ignored the water dripping down her face and stared right into Vladimir's eyes.

Vladimir kidnapped Alice. Jasper's voice rang in her ears.

Vladimir was sitting on a huge boulder just behind the beam of light, his lackeys standing below him on dry land. He was grinning; his red eyes glittered like gems as he looked down at them like they were insects trapped in a jar for him to play with.

The anger inside Bella didn't even need a spark; it was already burning, churning her insides fueled by lust to tear the Romanian bastard's hobbit of a body.

She could already hear cracking of his bones echo in the cave filling the silence, as she imagined herself breaking his body limb by limb, joint by joint.

Bella dashed towards Vladimir.

His cheeky grin fell.

Bella could feel the fear in his eyes. She barely heard Jane shouting her name.

It was too exhilarating.

Suddenly a strong force sent Bella flying back. She crashed down, face first; the left part of her face, smashed like a shattered mirror. Water engulfed her, filling in the myriad of cracks decorating her face. Her body had not yet stopped moving when a surge of pain shocked her whole body. She felt it – the electricity – every time it exploded in her she could feel herself being burned in the inside. Her body convulsed uncontrollably. She couldn't move. She felt paralyzed. And yet her body flailed like a fish out of water. Her heightened senses intensified the sensation of a simultaneous stabbing of a million scorching, sharp and knives in her flesh. It seemed like forever. Her eyes rolled up; white, her chest lurched up and down, her fingers shook her whole body jerked. Bella felt like she was going to pass out. And then it all stopped. Her body would twitch every now and then, but it was over.

"HAHAHA," Vladimir's screeching laughter bounced back in the cave repeatedly piercing everyone's eardrums. Bella wanted to cover her ears so badly but she couldn't quite move yet. "I tried so hard to keep a straight face," he breathed out. "But it was so hard! Did you see your face when you were sent flying?" he laughed again.

Bella looked to her right. The water covered half of her face, the right side of her face submerged by the murky water.

She wasn't the only one. Edward lay a few feet away from her. His body twitched, making ripples on the water. Beyond him lay a couple more bodies. Perce and Elezar.

Just then, Bella smelt something burnt and something foul. A small stream of blood floated inches away from her face. She followed trail of blood. She tilted her head up. Seth!

"Oh come now, Kitty could not have hit you that hard." Vladimir groaned.

There was a pause.

Another shock of electricity. This time it was quick. It was fast like an insect bite but far less painful. The feeling was similar to when you bumped your funny bone on the edge of a table.

Seth let out a yelp. Nine bodies shot up in sitting position.

"Now that I have got your attention," Vladimir hopped off of the boulder. He folded his hands behind his back and lifted his nose up ever so slightly. "It's time to be serious."

"Princess Isabella," he called. "Stand up."

Bella glanced at Edward. He was stiff. He couldn't read minds right now. They were blind. Bella glanced to her left. Jasper closed his eyes and gave one subtle nod. Bella stood up.

"Very good. Hesitate again and I will have all of you electrocuted. Now step forward ten steps. Any more, or any less – well you know what will happen."

Bella bit hard, her jaw clenched. God knows how much she wanted to pry that blonde hobbit's mouth open just to wipe that grin off his face.

One. Bella forced her right leg to move. Two. She stumbled. Three. Four. Five. Bella felt her flexibility come back to her in every step. And every step fueled her lust for the death of every single Romanian that was smirking at her as she walked. Ten steps. Bella stopped.

"Excellent," he sounded pleased. Vladimir walked forward. He stopped just before the now murky water met the dry land he was standing on. "Now, we shall trade. I'm a simple being," Bella bit her cheek to avoid making a snarky comment. Vladimir continued. "Your captivity, in exchange…for the seer's freedom."

One of Vladimir's lackeys walked out from behind the boulder. His hair was black, slick, combed in one direction to the back of his oval-shaped head. He held Alice by the throat, his other arm locked both of Alice's arms from behind.

Seth started barking like crazy. The cave vibrated with every bark.

Alice tried to fight, pulling and wriggling her arms out of his hold. She tried biting off the thick gag off her mouth.

"Shhh," he whispered in Alice's neck. CRACK! He snapped Alice left arm.

Alice screamed.

"Alice!" Bella growled.

Bella was about to run. All she wanted to do right now was kill – kill the man touching Alice. Kill Vladimir. Kill everyone!

Her foot was barely an inch off the ground and Kitty already stopped her from taking another step. The blonde waved at her. Blue strings of electricity dancing on her hand. She hovered it just above the water, daring Bella.

Bella hissed and growled at her, staring straight in her eyes. But she relented. She put her foot down back to where it was before. Not once did she break eye contact. Smirking, Kitty pulled her hand just inches away from the water in response.

"Your captivity. For her freedom. Simple is it not?" Vladimir ginned. He wasn't quiet done yet. "But where is the fun in that?"

Just as those words rolled off his lips, two silhouettes stepped out of thin air. Bella squinted. Her eyes widened with realization. The man from the mines. Behind him were two other vampires holding a limp body between them. A girl. She had a busted lip and a few gashes on her cheek. Her hair was covering most her face. But Bella knew who she was the moment she saw them materialize in front of her. A chill ran down her spine.

"Leah!" Jane shrieked from behind her.

"Choose wisely," Vladimir mocked.

Choose? How could Bella choose? She had to choose Alice. Alice is her mate. She shouldn't care about anyone else at this point. But at the same time Bella couldn't silence Luccian's voice in the back of her mind. Watch her grow old for me, alright? That's right. She had made a promise. A promise she had sworn to keep even if it meant giving up her immortal life. A promise she had made with Luccian. A promise she had made with her dad.

But can a promise even compare to a mate's bond? A mate was everything to a vampire. A mate is a vampire's other half – its sole purpose of living for eternity. She loved Alice. With all that she was. How could she not? She was her mate. And she would do anything to keep Alice safe. She couldn't care less about anyone else, even the Cullens. The only reason Bella put up with them was because they were Alice's family. And they make Alice happy.

But she had to choose. Leah, the one she had guarded and protected for all her life, the only one she had only loved and openly cared for, the only thing that's left of Luccian's memory. Leah, her only family, the testament to Sue – her mother's warmth and love. Or Alice, the one who taught her how to love, the one who stayed by her side after all these years, and the one who waited for her – who is still waiting for her.

Her body shook. Her lips quivered. The water, just above her ankles, vibrated – sending out a thousand ripples. "A-Alice." It came out as a whisper; weak and broken.

"I can't quite hear you!" Vladimir hollered. He leaned forward and cupped one of his ears as an act.

"Alice." Bella said louder. Steadier.

Bella shut her eyes. She didn't want to look. She didn't want to see anyone's face.

Jane shrieked like a banshee. She could hear the struggles from behind. She could only imagine Jasper or Edward – possibly both – holding Jane down as Emmett, Perce and Eleazar pinned Seth to ground as he snapped and thrashed most possibly trying to pry himself out to rip her throat out and tear her to pieces. How did Bella know that? Because that was exactly what Bella would do if Jane were to choose and she chose Leah instead.

Bella clenched her hands into fists. She hated herself for actually choosing. She felt so helpless. The more she thought about it, the more her action justified just how much of a monster she was. But she had to have Alice. She chose Alice because she wanted Alice. Bella laughed bitterly. "Izzie? Izzie, what's going on? Seth! Jane? Jane!" Leah screamed again and again. Leah had regained consciousness when Jane screamed. Bella cringed at the sound. After all this time forcing herself to believe she was the good one – the hero, in the end she was a monster exactly like her father. A selfish monster who thinks only of herself on no one else. Yes. That's what she was. Bella had proved exactly that right now. But what was more terrifying was that she was slowly accepting it. And she liked it.

Bella felt something flutter against her cheek. She flinched away from the touch. "Baby," Alice cooed. She gently lifted Bella's face up. Bella wanted to look down again, avoid Alice's bright, golden eyes, but Alice simply wounded have that. Bella wanted to break down right then and there. Alice. Alice she was there. The commotion behind her was non-existent. All there is right now was Alice. Her Alice.

Alice traced her fingers over Bella's cracked features. She caressed Bella's cheek. Bella whimpered as she leaned in to the touch.

"Alice, I-" Bella couldn't even finish when Alice dove in a hug. Bella gasped, quite sure what to do with her arms. But they gradually found themselves settled around Alice. And it felt perfect. Bella was home. Bella hugged her pixie tighter. Bella's left hand gripped Alice's small waist while her right hand happily threaded itself in the pixie's soft, spiky, hair. She didn't want to let go of her. She won't let go of her. She buried her face in Alice's soft jet black hair, the tips tickling her cheeks. Bella breathed in her mate's scent. "I love you," Bella let out a content sigh.

Jane was outraged. In fact, she wasn't herself right now. And she couldn't care less. She wanted to kill Bella. She wanted to pound Bella's face to the ground until it was unrecognizable. She wanted to cut Bella open and let the venom seep out of her veins. She wanted to tear Bella's flesh with her own teeth. She wanted Bella dead. But Edward and Jasper were making it difficult for her to do so. Of course they would stop her! Bella chose their sister! Leah didn't mean anything to them! The only one who shared her anger and pain right now was Seth. And –

CRAAAAAACK

The sound reverberated in the cave, echoing in every corner. There was silence. Complete and utter silence. Everyone stood still. Even the soft humming sound in their ear was gone. Even the Romanians were too paralyzed to move.

It was Jasper who reacted fast enough. He kicked Edward away (he was too paralyzed to even retaliate). He grabbed Jane both hands, twirled her around, and threw her in the air like a sling shot.

Jane couldn't care less why Jasper sent her flying. She was thrilled, actually. Her eyes were locked on the brunette's neck, both her hands already itching to tear Bella's head off. And it would be a complete understatement to say that Jane was beyond pissed when she missed her target by a foot. Unintentionally or not, Jasper had thrown Jane right into Kitty's direction.

Jane growled in frustration. But whatever, she wanted to kill the blonde bitch anyway.

Jane collided with Kitty even before she could use her gift on her. Jane grabbed her by the shoulders as she crashed on top of her making them roll like tumble weed. Jane ended up on top straddling the other blonde. Jane grabbed her by the head with both hands, her thumbs tightly pressed on the girl's forehead. The skin cracked under her grip. "Pain." Kitty screamed, thrashed, and writhed under her. Jane grinned. She wouldn't stop. She didn't want to stop. She couldn't not imagine Bella the one writhing in pain under her. A wide, toothy grin played across Jane's pale features.

"Jane!" she heard Leah cry. Jane locked on to Leah. Her captors were dragging her away. Without a second thought she left an unconscious Kitty behind her.

Jane looked at Leah's captors. They dropped to the ground, writhing the next second. Right on queue Seth leaped and tore their heads off with his mouth. Jane dashed and caught Leah in her arms. "You okay?"

"I am now. Thanks," Jane scooped Leah up off the ground and cradled her in her arms. Her feet were still badly bruised from her previous encounter with one of the Romanians. Jane quickly searched the premises for the other Romanians (specifically the one that had violated her mate. He was going to die a slow and painful death.) but they were already gone. Eleazar and Perce had taken down a couple but it seemed Vladimir, Sorin and Jane's soon to be play toy had already escaped.

"Seth?" Leah called her brother. Jane snapped out of her sadistic day dream. "What's wrong?" Seth didn't answer. He just stared. It was like he was frozen. And then he whimpered. His tail tucked in between himself as he lowered down to the ground, ears flat on his head. Leah and Jane followed his gaze. A deep growl reverberated in Jane's throat as she slowly backed away. Leah's blood went cold. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. She refused to believe what she was seeing. "…Izzie."

Rosalie snapped out of her momentary paralysis when Jane finished the electric bitch. So did the others. She watched Seth tear two vampires' heads off. The Romanians were panicking. Not far away from where Jane was, Perce and Eleazar had already taken down two other Romanians, breaking and snapping their heads off.

But there was still an unsettling feeling brewing in her chest. "Jasper?" Rosalie turned around. "Jaz! Where are you?" she looked to her right and then her left. There was no Jasper. "Jasper!" there he was. Jasper was sitting down on the wet floor, shoulders hunched. Rosalie had mistaken his silhouette as a boulder at first glance. Rosalie ran after him. She knelt beside him. "Jaz, what happened?" he looked so shaken. "Tell me what's wrong." In an instant Rosalie felt so much darkness so powerful that she had to step away from him. "Jaz…" Finally he lifted his finger and pointed as an answer.

Rosalie followed his finger. He was pointing at Bella's back. "What? I don't understand."

"She killed her." Edward's voice was empty like he didn't even believe a single word he just said.

Rosalie looked at Edward like he had somehow grown two heads. He looked as shaken as Jasper was. If anything, he looked far worse.

"She – she killed Alice," Edward dug his hands in his hair and pulled. He looked mad; deranged like a complete lunatic. "Bella killed Alice."
