Hi everyone! Thanks so much for reviewing my story and for the fact they are happy reviews! I am sad to say that my tale (not really mine all rights are reserved to J.K. Rowling!) is coming to an end! I really hope you've enjoyed Laurali's story as much as I have!

Laurali sat on the windowsill letting the chilling wind whip her hair around her face. Her conversation with Fred had gone horrible. Although that had been expected. But still, Laurali felt terrible. Laurali had told him that as much as she wished she felt the same way he did….she just didn't. That it was unfair of her to continue their relationship. He had of course gotten very upset and angry, yelled at her for awhile, then stormed away.

And as awful as it sounds Laurali did feel relieved. She no longer had to worry about hurting Fred's feelings, the damage was done and it was over with. Staring out over the grounds Laurali felt calm.

"Oi!" Someone yelled softly. Turning around, Laurali was happy to see that for the first time it was the older brother of Potters approaching her.

"Hey…" she greeted with a half smile. James swung his legs over and sat next to Laurali. Letting her head droop, it soon found his strong broad shoulders.

"Just had a chat with Fred." James remarked.

Laurali winced. "How did that go?"

James slung his arm around her shoulders, "Not amazing. He was mildly upset to say the least. And at me of all people." Laurali cringed, I really have a way in screwing with their family relationships. She thought guiltily. "Oh well he'll get over it. I don't think he was actually angry, just hurt, and needing someone to blame." Laurali remained quiet.

"So did you get the chance to talk to Clarisse?" She asked hoping to change the subject.

James let out a long sigh, "We're done." he said simply.

Sitting up Laurali turned to him, "What? But James I thought you were going to try and make it work, even if you couldn't accept the ultimatum."

James just shook his head, "It just didn't work Laurali."

I wish I could be sad but this is kind of amazing. I could have a real shot with James now. Laurali thought guiltily.

"Well you'll always have me James." Laurali gazed into James' beautiful saphire eye completely hypnotized. Once again Laurali felt this overwhelming need to soak up every detail that she could, because deep down she felt that this moment would change her life. She wasn't sure how but it would and she never wanted to forget it.

"I know Laurali, I've always known that." He whispered back, "And I will always be your courageous Gryffindor; always there to protect and comfort you."

I should feel sad that I broke up with Clarisse. I should. But instead I feel this intense urge to kiss my childhood friend. Trying to calm his racing heart James inhaled deeply, only to catch whiffs of Laurali's perfume. Bloody hell does she have to smell so bloody good.

"I don't really need a gallant hero to save me you know." Laurali joked, "More like a partner in crime." She finished, a sly smile curling her lips; mischief glinting in her eyes. Without thinking Laurali leaned forward inching closer to James, guilt gnawing at her stomach yet she still leaned closer.

I will be anything you want and need.

"I can do partners in crime." He whispered leaning closer to her as well. Every thought about Clarisse, and guilt about betraying Fred and Albus disappeared. The only thing filling his mind was how irresistible Laurali smelled.

I seriously need to find out what bloody perfume she uses.

Laurali felt butterflies start to take flight in her stomach. She hadn't felt like this since-since Albus. Suddenly Laurali felt queasy and extremely guilty. Looking down Laurali smiled sadly. James had just broken up with Clarisse, and she had just ripped Fred's heart out of his chest.

"What are we doing James?"

-o-O-o-
Something that feels completely right.

"You tell me Laurali."

She just stared at him with a small sad smile. James felt as if a bludger had just knocked the wind out of him.

Laurali put her hand over his. "I'm just glad that we're friends again." She whispered.

Swallowing the massive lump that had suddenly appeared in his throat James tried to give her a reassuring smile but it was strained. "Of course. Friends." was all he could manage.

And just like that James' heart exploded into a million pieces.

Laurali's already cracked and fragile heart started to fall apart. Every little piece that she had managed to salvage since her mum's accident broke once more.
