Chris looks over Elenas body. "Guess what we're doing today."
"What, pinky?"
Chris narrows his eyes. "I'm going to do what I promised a year ago. I'm going to cripple you."
Elena gets wide eyed. "No."
"This will hurt. Like when you spat at my gifts and affection for you."
"You don't have to do this."
"I'm not going to have to worry about you running off again. Then, I won't have to use so much energy watching you. Who knows, we could be making love by tomorrow. No more exploding light bulbs."
...
Chris guides Chance to the room stinking of blood. "Ready?"
Chance sighs before nodding. Chris removes his hands from over her eyes. "Before you can join me, I need you to prove your loyalty. So...kill Scarecrow."
Chance gets slightly wide eyed at the sight of Crane strapped to a table. "He looks...off..."
"Good eye. He isn't your Crane. He's from a different Gotham than yours. But if you want this, you have to kill him first."
Chance shrugs nonchalantly. "Okay. How do you want it?"
Chris frowns. "Don't act so tough. The thought of murdering the man you love in cold blood is tearing you apart..."
"I can shoot him, stab him, poison him, make his veins explode, gut him, skin him, chop off his limbs, make him drink acid like you threatened me, feed him to birds, set him on fire..."
Chris cuts her off. "How are you okay with this?!"
"I wouldn't be the first version to kill him. That version ruled the world. Why do I care? Hell, give me the one that I know. I'll make the murder personal. Maybe I'll give him an overdose of his own toxin."
Chris takes a step back. "You're sick."
"No worse than you."
Chris smirks. "If nothing bothers you...would you sleep with me?"
"Now? Sure. Go for it."
Chris steps closer to Chance. "I hope you don't mind if I take the lead?"
"I'm used to it."
Chris grabs Chance and begins kissing her neck. Chance rolls her eyes in annoyance.
...
Elena appears in front of Loki, bleeding and out of breath. She pants and leans against the wall.
"Loki...danger..."
"Breathe."
She gasps in a few mouthfuls of air before explaining. "Chris died, came back, killed a girl version of you, and is now an unstoppable killing machine. I tried to do it myself, but he's suppressing my powers. I need help. Like, a ton of help. First, I'm in a lot of pain. Second, we need to stop Chris before he kills everyone, starting with you."
"My abilities far exceed the limitations of death."
Elena narrows her eyes. "No universe, no you."
Loki approaches her. "I shall heal your wounds. If I choose to assist it will be my decision alone."
"Can I lean on you? He cut the backs of my knees."
Loki stops. "I do not have to treat your wounds. You are assuming too much of my generosity. I may leave you unable to walk."
Elena sighs. "I'm sorry. Look, if you help me out, I'll do whatever you want. I don't want to stay crippled. I don't want him to kill everyone."
"Your bargain is tempting. Beg and I shall consider your offer."
Elena narrows her eyes. "You can't be serious. He's on his way as we speak."
Loki turns and walks away. "Perhaps he will force you to watch as your stubbornness takes the lives of everyone you love. Your sister will surely scream as he tears out her heart."
"Wait!"
Loki pauses and turns to face Elena. She pushes her pride aside before allowing herself to fall to the ground. "Please Loki, rightful king of the universe, help me stop Chris. As a follower of yours I humbly beg for your assistance. I am not worthy to lick your boots as I grovel before you like an animal. I have been greedy and I beg for forgiveness. I will do whatever you ask, and I've read your comics so that's saying a lot."
Loki watches Elena in contemplation. "Very well. But know this, one day I shall collect your end of our agreement. I will take this lightly and neither shall you. Understand?"
"Yes. So you'll help?"
"To the best of my ability."
...
Chance stares absently at the ceiling while Chris runs a hand through her hair. "Can I get up now?"
"Not yet. You made a wise decision."
"Whys that?"
"Have you ever wondered why so many bad things happen to you?"
Chance shrugs. "From time to time."
"Well, it isn't you. Cranes the unlucky one."
"You're full of it."
Chris holds up his hand, feigning innocence. "It's true. In all the comics I've read. Every random bad thing happens to him. In the game he almost got eaten. In comics he's been...violently interrogated/electrocuted for no reason, he's accidentally run into his own booby trap for batman and gutted himself, been punished for no reason when arkham was haunted by demons...Had his jaw partially ripped off..."
"What the hell?!"
"And I'm sure there's more."
"I'm bored."
Chris smirks. "You didn't sound bored a minute ago."
Chance smirks. "Would you give me an oscar?"
Chris freezes for a moment. "What are you...?" He then tightens his grip in Chances hair and jerks her head back violently. "You little bitch!"
Chance laughs. "You're an idiot. I've been specially trained to escape every situation. Granted, I don't enjoy sleeping around, but whatever gets things done."
"What are you talking about?!"
"Tell me, how focused were you a minute ago?"
Chris snarls in anger. "When did you contact her?!"
"While you were sleeping. We couldn't risk escape with you blocking her powers. So we agreed that I'd wait for you to be focused on other things. You were to busy whining about concentration to notice what was right in front of you. I win."
Chris lets out a menacing laugh and Chance frowns. Chris smirks. "I was prepared for if you turned on me. I recorded some particular conversations we shared. Including the one we had a few minutes ago."
"You're bluffing."
Chris holds up a blue phone Chance goes slightly slack jawed. "You wouldn't dare..."
Chris presses a button. "Send. You really shouldn't have a supervillains contact on your phone. Hes bound to hear some interesting things."
Chance promptly turns and knees Chris in the groin. Chris drops the phone and Chance frantically tries to stop the file from being sent, to no avail. Chris grabs Chance by her hair.
"You whore! I'm sending you back. Have fun."
Chris sends Chance back to her rightful dimension before she can make things worse.
