Storybrooke, present day.
It was Friday night and Emma was dropping Henry of. Regina couldn't hide her excitement as she was eager to show her son the new furniture. A small smile played on her face as she stirred the stuffing for the chicken she was cooking.
Next to her, David was looking at her with a soft smile. She was so beautiful. Sometimes he could not comprehend what on earth he did to deserve to be with her. Everything about her made his heart beat faster against his chest and as much as he would like to deny it, he kept blushing whenever she was saying that she loved him. And God, he loved her too. He loved every inch of her body and soul. The damaged part of them also. Denying that he hadn't been taken aback by her declarations about her past would be fooling himself but the woman standing in front of her was everything but 'evil'. No, she was simply Regina, the woman he grew to love three times –before and after the curse. And finally, in Boston. The woman he aspired to spend his life with.
The brunette turned as she felt his insistent gaze upon her.
-"What?!" She asked, brows furrowed.
-"You're smiling." He answered simply, still smirking.
-"Am I not allowed to?" She said defensively.
David laughed and kissed her on the temple.
-"Relax! It was just an observation."
The brunette relaxed under his touch.
-"I'm sorry…I don't know what got into me."
-"It's ok." He said smiling as he looked at her.
They were losing themselves into each other's gaze until the doorbell rang.
Regina chuckled.
-"Stop staring and go get the door."
-"As you wish, madam Mayor." He said bowing mockingly.
David left the kitchen and headed towards the door. He was not surprised to see Henry and Emma, standing on the other side.
-"Hey David!" The boy said, hugging his grand-father.
-"Hi kid! How was your day?"
-"Boring. Emma insisted that I go to school." He answered pouting.
-"I like this side of you Miss…Emma."
The mayor appeared in the hallway, a warm grin on her face.
-"Mom!" Henry said running towards her and wrapping his arms around her waist.
Regina felt her heart melting. She still wasn't accustomed to seeing her son so enthusiastic to see her. She felt the tears coming again. It had been twice today and she hated to see how emotional she was getting. She swallowed the tears and parted softly from him, ruffling his hair.
-"Hi honey." She managed to say.
The boy wore a big grin.
-"David and I were thinking about going back to Boston…"
Henry's smile faltered.
-"And we were wondering…if you would like to accompany us."
His eyes rounded with joy and the grin reappeared on his face.
-"Really?" He asked, still not believing it.
Regina nodded chuckling.
-"This week-end. What do you say?"
-"Yes!" He answered immediately. "That will be so cool. I'm going to pack."
And before anyone could say anything, Henry was already halfway from his room.
David couldn't repress a laugh and he stretched his hand for Regina to take it. The brunette took it and leant against him.
-"We have a few think to take care of in Boston," She said, looking at Emma. "We thought it would be a good opportunity to take Henry."
The sheriff nodded with a smile.
-"I'm going to leave you guys." She said.
-"Ok!" David answered.
-"Oh!" Regina said. "I found a few offers to rent an apartment. I'll be right back."
Regina went into the living room where the papers were lying. Going back to the hallway, she stopped at the stairs.
-"Henry! Emma is leaving."
-"I'm coming!" The boy shouted.
-"Here!" Regina said when she arrived next to David and Emma.
-"Thank you."
The brunette smiled.
-"Goodbye mom." Henry said.
-"Goodbye kid. I'll see you around."
He nodded.
-"Bye!" Emma said, addressing this time her father and Regina.
David closed the door behind her.
-"David and I still have some cooking to do before it's ready. You go get your shower and finish packing."
-"'K!" He said leaving.
-"And Henry?"
-"Mmh?"
-"Don't over pack. We're only staying for the week-end."
-"Don't worry."
Regina chuckled at her son's excitement. This week-end was going to be great. She could feel it.

The family was sat around the dining table, enjoying the chicken and chatting.
-"I would like to come back to live here."
Regina almost chocked on her food. She coughed and David gave her a glass of water that she took.
-"You don't want?" Henry asked with teary eyes.
-"No…no honey!" Regina quickly added, putting her hand on his. "But you're sure? What about Emma?"
-"I've already talked to her about it. I will sleep at hers someday but I…I just want to come back home…for good."
A tear fell on the brunette's cheek.
-"I've already told you sweetheart. This is your home and will always be. You are free to stay here whenever you please."
Henry grinned widely.
-"I would like that!" He concluded. "I can't wait for us to go the Boston." He said putting a large piece of meat in his mouth.
-"You'll see kid! We're going to have a lot of fun." David said smiling.
Henry smiled as well as Regina.
-"But, isn't it dangerous for you to travel?" He asked his mother, frowning lightly.
-"We'll take the car. It'll take us a few extra hours but we'll normally managed to reach Boston in the afternoon."
The boy nodded.
-"Ok! Can I leave the table?"
-"You don't want a dessert?" Regina asked, brows furrowed.
-"No I'm full! I want to finish packing." He said.
David chuckled.
-"Fine!" Regina said with a smile.
Henry left the dining room and went upstairs. Regina relaxed in her chair. She smiled as she felt David's hand on hers. She turned to look at him.
-"You're beautiful."
She chuckled.
-"I'm tired."
David leant and kissed her lips.
-"Go lay down. I'll take care of the dishes."
-"Aren't you perfect!" The brunette said smirking.
-"Ever doubted it?"
Regina laughed. She stood up and before leaving she put a kiss on his ear. "Come to me soon." She whispered and she left.
Storybrooke, the next day
In the mayoral mansion, they all woke up early. Surprisingly, Henry had been the first to wake up, excited to leave for Boston. They were all sat in the kitchen ready to take their breakfast when the doorbell rang. Regina sighed already annoyed.
-"Start eating! I'll be back." She said standing up.
The two boys nodded. Regina headed towards the door and opened it.
-"Oh!" She said with surprise at the sight of the blonde fairy standing outside, a wide grin played on her face.
-"Hello Regina!" She said inviting herself in.
-"Hum…Excuse me?!"
-"I came to invite you to grab breakfast at Granny's."
-"You what?" Regina said raising an eyebrow.
-"Breakfast! Granny's!" The fairy said.
-"I…I can't I'm leaving for Boston today."
-"Oh I know."
-"You know?"
-"Emma said it to Ruby and Ruby told me."
Of course. Regina thought.
-"Well! I don't have time to go to Granny's so…"
-"Come on Regina. It'll just be for a few minutes."
David appeared in the hallway.
-"Is everything ok?" He asked. "Oh, hi Tinkerbelle." He said smiling at the fairy.
-"Regina and I are going to grab breakfast at Granny's."
-"I didn't say yes." The brunette replied, annoyed by the fairy's insistence.
-"Why not?" David said, coming to stand next to her. "You can go, Henry and I will join you there to pick you up."
Regina was going to object but David leant against her.
-"Come on Regina…Give it a try." He whispered in her ear. "It's not that bad to have a friend."
-"Fine!" She grumbled. "I'll grab my coat."
She grabbed the coat on the stands.
-"Henry!" She called.
-"Mmh?" The boy said coming. "Oh! Hi Tink!"
-"Hey Henry!"
-"I'm going at Granny's with Tinkerbelle. You and David will join me later so we can leave."
-"Ok!"
Regina put a kiss on his forehead and kissed David.
-"Be good!" The Prince said.
She rolled her eyes and left.
Tinkerbelle and Regina arrived at Granny's after a few minutes. They sat at a booth and ordered their food. A cup of herbal tea and some toasts for Regina and a cup of coffee with pancakes for the fairy.
-"So! To what do I owe the pleasure?" Regina said leaning against the chair.
-"I've known you for quite some time, you know?!"
-"That's not possible. The jungle was never my thing."
Tinkerbelle chuckled.
-"I figured! I am a fairy…I was one. I lived in the Enchanted Forest with all the fairies. I was flying around as usual when I saw you for the first time. It was for your wedding…"
Regina lowered her head.
-"You looked sad…Like it wasn't really the place you belonged to…Since that day I've been keeping an eye on you. One day I stole pixie dust from Blue. I wanted to use it to help you."
-"Help me?" Regina said frowning.
-"Pixie dust helps you find the thing you need most."
-"You wanted to help me?" Regina said, surprised and moved.
No one had never helped her back then…No one cared enough about her to do so. She swallowed back the tears.
-"Yes! But Blue caught me and took off my wings."
-"You lost your wings because of me!" Regina whispered.
-"Well, it was my decision."
Regina sighed. Once again she ruined someone's life. Her thoughts were interrupted by Ruby coming with their order. Regina took her cup and drank a sip of her tisane.
-"I'm glad I finally got to meet you." Tinkerbelle said.
-"I sort of ruined your life."
-"No you did not!" The fairy said, looking at the Queen in her eyes. "I don't regret what I have done. I just regret not having been able to go through with it."
-"Maybe it was for the best."
The blonde girl frowned.
-"If I had followed you, maybe I wouldn't have become evil but…I wouldn't have had my son…or David and…" She put a hand on her stomach. "My baby."
-"Well…It's a great pleasure for me to see you happy. Really! I'm glad that in the end you found happiness."
Regina smiled.
-"Well we shall see."
-"You still have a hard time believing in it, don't you."
-"I'm a villain." She stated. "I've been told that villains don't get happy endings."
-"Well, I don't know a lot of villains who have managed to become the person you are today. I don't know what you were as the 'Evil Queen' but, I see you now and you are not a villain. A sassy bitch at times but it's ok."
Regina couldn't help but laugh. That she was.
Not very proud of this chapter. For some reasons, the closer we get to the end, the more difficult it is to write. It's really frustrating especially since I have a clear idea to where I want to go...The words just won't come. Anyways. I hope you liked it. Next chapter will be in Boston. Hopefully, some nice family time.
