Ch 35: Knee Deep

FYI: more review make me want to write more

Knee Deep by Zac Brown Band

Gonna put the the world away for a minute

Pretend I don't live in it

Sunshine gonna wash my blues away...

Wishing I was knee deep in the water somewhere

Got the blue sky breeze and it don't seem fair

Only worry in the world is the tide gonna reach my chair

Sunrise there's a fire in the sky

Never been so happy

Never felt so high

And I think I might have found me my own kind of paradise

"Jen, can you pass the tanning oil?" Kate asked lounging on her beach chair.

"Sure."

"Thanks."

It was their first day official day of their vacation in the Sunshine State. Six days left in Destin, Florida until they had to go back to New York, so they were definitely going to make the most of it.

The gang had somehow convinced their parents to allow all six of them to go to Florida for their Junior Spring Break. Of course, however, there would be chaperones. Johanna and Jim decided to fly out the girls and the Ryan's decided to drive the boys all the way from New York to Florida.

The teens even managed to get hotel rooms right next to each other's.

"Ahhh. I just love the beach. And it's such a beautiful day! Not a cloud in the sky, and the view isn't too bad either." Lanie beamed, staring at one of the three shirtless boys playing frisbee in front of them.

"Mmm hmm" Jenny said as she looked over her sunglasses. Kate couldn't argue either. Rick looked incredible in his swim trunks. Unconsciously, Kate licked her lips. 'Snap out of it Kate.' She had to tell herself.

The boys had decided they had their fun and decided to pester their girlfriends who looked a little too comfortable. Each with a knowing smirk on their face.

"Hello ladies." Javier finally said.

Lanie peaked through one eye. "Javier Esposito, what on earth? Get out of the way you're blocking my sun." Lanie sassed.

"Do you ladies want to join us in the water?" Rick asked gesturing towards the ocean with a Cheshire grin.

That got all their attentions. Jenny and Kate finally opened their eyes as well. Oh no. They've seen and done this before.

"Castle. I swear to God." Kate warned.

"What?" He said as he stepped closer. His grin was wider than ever. She did not like that mischievous, adorable, stupid grin. Kate had folded her legs, hugging them to her chest cowering away from him.

"At least this time I'm asking." He reasoned.

Unfortunately, he did have a point. "So. Kate. You can either go the easy way or the hard way." She knew he was strong. And their was a little to no chance she could escape this.

"Fine. But you have to carry me." She argued.

"Deal." He closed the remaining distance between them and picked her up bridal style and walked towards the ocean. Maybe it was time to cool off.

Everyone had eventually gotten out of the water leaving Rick and Kate by themselves.

"See? Aren't you having fun?" He asked as he wrapped his arms around her.

"I suppose." Kate hugged herself around him as well. Her legs bracketing his hips, while her arms wrapped around his neck. He pressed his lips to hers.

"I'm so happy right now." He confessed leaning his forehead against hers. Her heart swelled at his words. She could not agree more. She was completely sated. Not a care in the world. In fact, she felt as if it were only them in the world. "Me too." She dropped her head to his shoulder.

"I love you, Katherine Beckett."

God, now he was just being corny. She groaned. Kate had always hated her full first name. It made her sound old. Or as if she was from the Victorian era. But now, he looked like he was waiting for a response.

"I love you, too, Richard Castle." She rolled her eyes.

Satisfied, he let his legs go limp, submerging the both of them under water.

"To our first night in paradise." Rick toasted.

"Cheers." The whole table said.

The gang and their parents all had dinner at fancy Seafood Restaurant. Everyone was dressed in their Sunday best. Even the boys behaved themselves for the event.

It had really been a successful day. Everyone arrived at the hotel at eleven o'clock (in the morning) as planned, the teens had their fun on the beach, the adults had their fun poolside, all in all, it was a good day.

Later that night, the adults decided to have more "adult time" and decided to go to a local bar. The teens were spent and just decided to watch We Are The Millers in their hotel room.

Rick, however, had not been necessarily smart, and put very little sunscreen on. His face and back were completely fried.

In front of the T.V., he laid on his stomach, while his girlfriend straddled the lower half of his back, rubbing aloe on his reddened skin.

"Ahhh." He hissed for the tenth time.

"Well, maybe next time you will actually wear sunscreen." She said.

"I didn't think I would get this burnt." He defended.

Kate blew on his back, cooling the burned skin.

"Ah that feels good. Keep doing that." He purred. She continued for a minute or two. "Mm...and this is why I love you."

Okay. That last part was a little bit of what I'm feeling right now. I got a really bad sunburn, and just decided to write a little scene...

Hope you enjoyed it :)

Question: Should I continue Spring Break or Move on. (If i move on, I might update quicker because I almost have another chapter finished or if i continue, it may take me longer to write a new chapter.)
